BCS Authoirzation activity types for tasks

Hi All,
The following activity types exist for tasks, the wildcard (*) and the next 5 are self explanatory to me
but how about A3 "change status"?
how can it be used in any way that the others couldn't acheive? it appears redundant to me.
Activity     Description          My assumption     
03     Display          Display last results
05     Lock          Lock task
16     Execute          execute task in update mode
48     Simulate          execute task in test mode
95     Unlock          Unlock task
A3     Change status     change status of task, eg from locked to unlocked, red to yellow or green
So, what would happen if a user had 03. 05, 16, 48 & 95 but not * or A3? and then tried to run a task?

- I do not think that this is redundant. There is a new functionality that may prohibit a user from changing the statuses of the tasks. Looks like this activity will allow it.
So, what would happen if a user had 03. 05, 16, 48 & 95 but not * or A3? and then tried to run a task?
- Let me quess: everything will be as usual: tasks lock/unlock, execution. The user just will not be ably to change the tasks status manually. If the status changed the usual task run - no problem.
But again, these are my quesses. You might be the first who may give an answer after experiments. And if it is please share the results with us.

    Multiple capacity categories can be created in a work center like
    Engineer
    Sr. Engineer
    Architect
    Rates for all of them will be different (obviously) , however we can only have 1 activity type as default in a work center . We intend to 'HR assignment' corresponding to each capacity category . how can we have multiple activity type for different capacities (Engineer , architect etc).

  • Why I cannot enter an "Activity Type" for a trip with only one destination?

    Hello experts,
    Doing a travel expense the user must specify the type of activity (u201CAu201D, u201COu201D or u201CSu201D) that the trip expense is involved, but this option itu2019s only available when the trip has more than one destination (inside the table u201CAdditional Destinationsu201D):

    When I make a travel expense report, the field activity does not
    appear, only on additional destination. Why cannot I enter an activity
    type for the first destination, only for additional destination?
    I think that the system should allow to enter an activity on general
    trip data.

    Hi,
    Sorry I gave you the customizing entry for transaction PR05 and not for TRIP.
    So, go there :
    Tx FITVFELD.
    --> Your Trip Provision Variant. --> Trip Schema --> Travel Manager (Travel Expenses Only) --> General Trip Data --> Trip Itinerary 
    The Field "Trip Activity Type - PTK05_N-KZTKT " should have the parameters "Field Is Visible" and "Field ready for input" checked.
    As you can see, the entry point is in "Trip itinerary" Subscreen and not in "General Trip Data Subscreen".
    This means that unfortunately the Trip Activity Type is not available in the subscreen General Trip Data.
    If I do like this in my test system, in the TRIP tx I can see that the field Activity Type appears also in the subscreen "Mileage and Per Diem Reimbursement". So If I enter my activity type here, then it populates the value in my first destination (in Trip Itinerary) even if I have only one destination.

  • Activity Types for a Work Center

    Dear Experts,
    I have done KL01 and KP26 transactions. That is I ahve defined the activity and assignes a cost conter to it.
    Still, when I am trying to enter the activity type in costing tab while creating the work center, the system throws an error as "No activity types are assigned to the cost center XXXXX, controlling area XXXXX....."
    The Msg No. is CR 091.
    Please guide me to find out where I am missing something?

    Create a Cost center using T code - KS01.
    Create an activity type using T code - KL01.
    Assign the Rates for an activity type & cost center combination using T code KP26.
    In the input screen of T code KP26 ,enter version as 0, from period 1 and to period as 12 and the Fiscal
    Year as 2009,enter the cost center, activity type click on overview screen (F5) & enter the per hour Rate
    After performing this in work center assign activity type & cost center
    should be assigned. Then while creating routing/task list this work center can assigned for performing
    as per the operation time, whichu2019s used by the work center, the cost is getting calculated.
    Overhead cost is the indirect cost which's spent during production.
    So when the cost rollup is taken using T code CK40N (or else using CK11N estimating & CK24 for

  • Appointment Types for Appointments; Task Types for Tasks

    In the current implementation that I administer, the Type field's Picklist within the Activity Object is populated with values for both Appointments and Tasks regardless of whether a user clicks on New Task or New Appointment. Obviously, this often leads to errors.
    After modifying the Type and Subtype Picklists (Type cascades to Subtype), I tried to create a workflow that automatically defaults Type based on the value in the Activity.Activity field ("Appointment","Task"). As it turns out, the workflows didn't fire because that field remains NULL until you save the record.
    Anyone have another way of doing this?

    PureAgression, I think I understand what you are trying to do so I've got 2 suggestions:
    I have a document that allows you copy an opportunity using a weblink field (you've probably read that forum posting) why not use that same concept and have them create a new task or appointment using a weblink and have the type pass via the URL?
    Use dynamic page layouts so that when they create a task or appt the fields don't appear until they select the type field.

    hi Nandha, i am sorry but i could not do it. i am new in this. let me make my problem more clear to you.
    i was creating a routing using ca01
    after puttig all the details i switched to operations tab and in operation tab i put workcenter as (1111 - lathe, may be i am wrong as i told you i am just practicing).
    i did not put anything on that screen and then when i pressed enter it took me to another screen with name Operation check.
    here is the layout of the problem on that screen
                          std val      unit     activity type     efficiency
    set up                            min        1422
    machine                         min        1421
    labor                              min        1420
    and then curser being on the std value i am getting this error "activity type 1422 is not set up for cost center 1000 4220 in the year 2007.when i am ignoring it it is switching to next std val coloumn and the same error.

    Dear ,
    To create new Activity Type  , you need to follow the below steps :
    KA01 - Create Primary Cost Element for the new activities type.
    KL01 - Create Activity Type tied to the primary cost element. 
    KP26 - Change Activity Type/Activity Price Planning - maintain the Variable price
    Assign the activity type to cost center using T code KP26.
    In the input screen of T code KP26 ,enter version as 0, from period 1 and to period as 12 and the Fiscal Year as 20xx.
    Click on Overview tab on top and key in costing details in this screen.
    After performing this ,while creating the work center ,this combination of activity type & cost center should be assigned.
    At work centre level , you should have
    1.Create Standrad Value Key -OP19 and Formula Key in OP49.
    2.Create Formula Parameters in OP7B or u can use existing one to assing in the Standard Value Key
    3.In CR02-Assing the Standard value key in Basic Data  and select the Formula Key in Costing tab with cost centre assingement .Save

  • Unable to define Rule completely in ACTIVITY, asking for TASK definitation

       I am facing the below problem, request your help.
      I have an workflow , I have to created new activity and added rule under that, When i check for syntax errors, its says that TASK not defined, When Add TASK for the same activity where rule exists, Once the TASK is added, the rule is getting Deletd.
      Kindly suggest. How to add Rule to Activity without errors without task, or is there any step to add rule alone.

    Hi,
    What BO method are you using? Is a standard method?
    There are only 2 reasons for a agent doesn't appear on your activity:
    1) If there is a (sub)workflow defined in the task
    or
    2) There is a background task.
    Try deleting the activity, use SWU_OBUF tcode and creating a new activity.

    Check out this,
    1.Create a Cost center using T code - KS01.
    2.Create an activity type using T code - KL01.
    3.Assign the Rates for an activity type & cost center combination using T code KP26.

    under Fixed price and set value as 2 for distribution key and plan price indicator as 3.
    5.After performing this ,while creating the work center ,this combination of activity type & cost center
    should be assigned.Then while creating routing/task list this work center can assigned for performing
    operations.

  • Error Activity type 502000 not set up for cost center 1000 cc111

    hi all
    While creating a work center (CR01) I need to enter a cost center and activity type for machine hours. However, while entering the activity type the following message appears:
    Message no. CR 061
    You are attempting to assign activity type XXXX to the work center. However, this activity type has not yet been set up in controlling area 1000 for cost center xxxxx.
    while creating the activity type in KL01 i have already given * in cc category so it should go for all cc
    What could cause this problem?

    Hi,
    Check whether the activity type is maintained at the correct controlling area via KL03. If not, then create the activity type (KL01) in the corresponding controlling area.

How can activities assign to service materail? Currently I have configured  valuation catagories , assign cost elements to value catagories, define activity types,Price planning for activity type and assign these activity types to work center.

    Really sorry for late reply! DIP Profile helps a lot in Configuring Quotation and Billing document. What I did was
    1. I create activities with the help of CO consultant and give price to the activities type.
    2. Setting performed for DISPLAY OF COST in Maintenance and Service       ProcessingBasic settings for these activities.
    3. Assign Cost element for these activities. 
    4. Assign these activities type to the work center.
    5. Define Services Materials for each activity type so that they can be displayed in my quotation and billing document.
    6. Assign services materials to DIP Profile as such:
    u2022     Define planned cost u2013 Total Record as source.
    u2022     In Material Determination for profile I assign each of my service material to Transfer cost and Quantity and assign respective cost and revenue element of that activity type to the Service material.
    When I create a service order with revenue u201CSM02u201D.I do not specify service material. I assign my activities types in operations and when I calculate costing it sums up all the revenue in costing for planned costs but when I create quotation and billing document for the service order it shows individual material for each activity type and its amount on item data and total is displayed in header data against EK01 condition type moreover planned and actual cost are displayed in service order.
    The problem is, I have not create any condition record nor assign these condition type to my pricing procedure as value is arising from activity type.
    Which condition types can be assigned to pricing procedure so that they can pick up the value of the activity type?

  • Is there a way to bypass activity type/ cost element for CJ20n Activity?

    Hi Experts,
    Is there a way to bypass the activity type set in the Internal tab of a particular activity in CJ20n?
    Here's a background of the scenario:.
    - In CJ20n, under WBS element 100->Network 10->Activity 1, under the internal tab, the activity type set up is ACT1
    - Under person assignment, I have 2 resources assigned Person 1 and Person 2, with the following values:
      Person 1          Work: 1.0h Dur. 10D
      Person 2          Work: 2.0h Dur. 15D
    - In infotype 135, person 1 has a cost element set as ACT2 and person 2 has a cost element ACT3.
    - The problem is that when you bring up the Plan/ Actual comparision report (ctrl+F11 in CJ20n), the costs are consolidated for ACT1 and negates the cost elements for Person 1 and Person 2
    Is there a way to bypass this and use the individual cost elements set up for person 1 and person 2?

    I dont think this is possible for the scenario that you explained. I mean, you have a single activity which has 2 resources assigned and each of these resources has a different activity type. Standard SAP allows only 1 activity type for an activity.
    Just a query, why dont you create 2 different activities for these resources since the activity types are diff for both?

    I am creating a PowerShell script to document SharePoint 2013 workflow associations on a site. I can get the Subscription object for the workflow association, but I can't figure out how to dig into it to find out the Content Type for tasks generated
    by workflows created by this WF association. I can get the Task List ID from the Subscription.PropertyDefinitions, and from there can get the Task List. But the task list may use many different content types, because when you associate a 2013 workflow
    to a list, SharePoint adds the workflow's content type to the set of content types used by the workflow task list. If you have a lot of workflows that use the same task list, that task list gets a lot of content types.
    I have the Subscription object for the workflow association. How can I divine the content type for tasks that the workflow will generate?

    I would suggest you to consider using the SPListItem that running the workflow instance to check the task content type.
    First, find the list item that associated with the workflow, then SPListItem.Tasks returns a collection of workflow tasks for the item, you can check the content type from the task item.
