Being charged whilst on Anytime Call package

I took out an Anytime Calls plan which was activated on 28/3/2015. Looking at My BT online I can see that I have been charged £6.19 for calls to an 0207 landline number on 31st March. I have spoken to BT 3 times about this and they say the charges will be refunded but the usage charges on my account keep on going up.
All the calls have been to UK landlines and have lasted less than an hour. Not very happy. Please can one of the mods look into this?

whta does it say in MYBT for your add on package - unlimited anytime?

  • Anytime Calling Package

We have the anytime calling package and have had it for years to ensure during the day we can make a call without worrying about the cost.
Last year BT put the price of this up to £7 a month to cover half-price calling to mobiles.
Now this is fine for people who want to call mobiles from their landlines and don't have a mobile, but for me and probably others we have mobile phones that include inclusive minutes to any network which includes mobiles, so have no need to use this feature from BT that we have been forced to pay to keep the rest of the anytime calling package.
Now I have noticed other providers who have anytime calling packages also do the half-price calls to mobiles, but they keep this as a seperate package so the initial ACP is just for calls to landlines and they can add the mobile part on if required.
So I think it would be good for BT to keep these seperate as currently paying the £2 per month enforced by BT for a feature I don't actually use.

I was on the old anytime call package when it was, I think, £5.48 and did not include the discount for calls to mobiles. I had a policy of never ever calling mobiles from my landline so I was really miffed when I was told at re-contract time that the anytime calling package had changed and that the cost would be £7. I asked for my MAC code via the e-mail route and BINGO I received a call reducing the cost of the new anytime call package to £5 and reducing my broadband cost.

  • I'm being charged for my evening calls even though...

Starting back in May 2011, I moved home and had to have a new phone line installed into the new address. I told BT very clearly that I wanted the new line to be on the Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan as I was at my old address.
Ever since then, both my May and June bill have call charges for all of my Evening calls i.e. calls made after 7:00pm and before 7:00am. Strangley my weekend calls are not being charged.
Furthermore, my account does say that I am indeed on the Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan.
I have contacted BT on 2 separate occasions by phoine; the first time being when I got my May bill and the second time when I got my June bill. On both occasions I got the usual standard apology and the calls charges refunded, but the problem has not been fixed! I cannot keep calling BT every month with the same complaint seeking refunds!
So, since BT seem incapable of fixing their own billing problems, what's my next step? OFCOM?
I am serisously thinking of changing my provider.
If anyone has any advice, I would much appreciate it.
    Thanks.

This is also happening to me. I have called to complain and was told the overcharging would stop. However, it has continued for third month running. I will call again to complain tomrorrow. Our latest bill is showing for £81 because again the unlimited monthly plan has not been applied. Please can someone advise what the next step in the compliants process shpild be?

  • Re: Unlimited anytime call package?

I've recently upgraded to unlimited anytime plan as part of my broadband and calls bundle.
However in 'My BT' there is an inconsistency.
It says I am on Unlimited Anytime plan and the bullets suggest that I am only on unlimited weekends. See below.
    I'm now confused.
My understanding was that all calls from my main landline phone would be free.
    Is this correct?
    Unlimited Anytime Plan
Part of your Broadband and Calls bundle
    Your call plan
Unlimited calls to UK landlines from midnight Friday to midnight Sunday, for up to an hour
Inclusive calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers at weekends

Hi there Donh and welcome to the forums.
The bullets you mention and show are unlimited anytime calls, if it was weekends unlimited only Sat & Sund  would be blocked out.
Don't forget free!! for up to an hour, redial after 55 minutes.  01 02 03 and 0845 0870 only and not channel islands.

  • Why I am being charged for receiving missed calls in Argentina?

I have received charges for receiving missed calls which doesn't seem right as I am not answering them, knowing I will get charged. Not happy about this as my bill is much higher than expected. And my bill states I have called my Voicemail on 3 occasions which again is not correct. Can any one help? I cannot call EE as I will be charged as well.

If you leave your voicemail turned on when you roam abroad outside the EU, any missed calls you may get, the caller will be diverted to your voicemail as normal.  However, as the voicemail platform is located in the UK, when roaming with your handset outside the EU, this in turn will always generate an international call back to the UK.
Those calls to voicemail you are seeing on your bill are these automatic diverts.
It's always advisable to turn off your voicemail when roaming to stop this from happening.
Details here with instructions on how to turn off your voicemail diverts.

  • Unlimited anytime call package?

Which phone does the unlimited anytime package apply to? as I have been charged for calls made on the internet phone.
I was under the impression that if you wanted to make the savings you used the internet phone to make calls but used your landline for anything else.
    Solved!

I am feeling somewhat aggrieved as the package I have been sold- for a landline and broadband- now apparently requires me to have a hub-phone in order to access the free evening and weekend calls, which I had previously on my landline .  At the time I took on bt broadband, there was no other broadband available in my area, and until now I have no complaints about the service, although the use of the word "download" is another bone of contention...
Although I have just been told on the bt helpline that I can access my broadband phoneline from my landline by dialling 5 before the number I am trying to call, this does not work.
Please can someone explain to me (in small words!) how I can access my free broadband phone calls?
    Thanks!

  • Charged for Line rental saver package but it's not...

Okay, so my first experiences with BT haven't been the best I'll be honest. On Friday 8 June I ordered BT Infinity Opt 2 with the Line Rental Saver package and Anytime calls package. All seemed to go through and the payment of £129 went out of my account almost straight away. Then on Saturday 9 June I received a phone call from someone at BT (for the sake of easing confusion, I'll call him Guy A). So, Guy A told me that there had been an issue processing my payment for the line rental save and that I would need to purchase it again once my infinity had been set up, whilst in the process of this though the line cut out. He then tried to call me back around 5 minutes later only to be cut off again. At this point I decided to call BT cust services myself to find out what was going on and spoke to Guy B, he wasn't sure and so put me on hold to go speak with someone, during this time Guy A called me back and told me to hang up on Guy B, so I did. He then carried on explaining that any money taken from my account would be paid back straight away as it hasn't really been taken (whatever that means), he then said goodbye and went. Once I put the phone down I received a voicemail message from Guy B saying that there was nothing actually wrong with my order and that I simply need to call back BT and confirm a few details to get the order submitted. So, I called back and spoke to Guy C. I explained all of the above to guy C and he had a look at my account, he thought that there might have been an issue with my engineer date and so asked if I was happy to change it to the 26 June from the 25 June, which I was. So he did this, but then realised that the issue lies in that I am migrating both phone and broadband from O2 and that I need to have a BT phone line before they can install Infinity for me. He said that he would cancel my Infinity order for me and that I would need to re-order BT Total Broadband online, and instead of choosing Infinity to choose just the standard broadband option 3, and that once this is installed to call up and upgrade to Infinity. I confirmed that he was going to cancel my Infinity Order and then hung up, I went online and ordered BT Total Broadband again, with the line rental saver and anytime call package. I then realised that Guy C hadn't told me how long a refund on the line rental saver from infinity would take, so I called BT cust service again and Spoke to Woman A, she had a look for my original order but couldn't actually find it in the system, so she looked for my new order and couldn't find that either, she advised me that it can take 48hrs for an order to show in her system and to call back on Monday 11 June to check the status' of my cancelled Infinity order and my new BT Total Broadband order. ---> Read next comment.

So, I called back today only to be told that my Infinity order is still going ahead and that they will install the phone line on the 26 June and Infinity on 27 June instead. I mentioned to the woman I was speaking to that I had already placed another order and she assured me that this would be automatically cancelled when they see that there is a duplication in the system. I then asked about the whole thing with my Line Rental Saver package. She had a look but couldn't see that I had chosen that option at all from the Infinity order (worrying) and that my latest order wasn't even showing in the system.
She advised me to call my bank and check to see with them if they have any pending refunds on my account, so I did. And, surprise surprise I don't.
So, right now I'm £258 down and BT have no record of my ordering the line rental saver... Please can someone have a look into this, or assure me that I will be refunded both amounts. I'm so worried right now that I'm going to be batteling with BT for months on end to get my money back when I really can't afford it.
Been with BT for less than 4 day and I'm already starting to regret the decision.
    Regards,
    Joe
P.s. Sorry for the super long post, but I needed to get everything down.

  • Ordering Infinity & existing call packages

If I upgrade from BT Broadband to BT Infinity via an online order, will my exiting Anytime call package be left in place?
The reason I ask is that all the information I've seen on BT.com always talks about BT Infinity plus evening/weekend calls.
Just need to be clear before I start the order process.

place the order if your cabinet is active you will get a confirmed Install date
as to reliability the service is very stable I have personally had it since March last year not one disconnection I was quoted 66/20 when installed received 76/20 speed never varies more than +/- 1.5mb at any time hub has restarted once and that was for the firmware update to the HH3a
As to vision and Youview on the same line I am not sure but i do not think it is possible.
Maybe some one else could advise you there
this link should tell you if your cabinet is live and accepting orders http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.TelephoneNumberOutput

    Hi,
Started to use smart talk back in march all seemed ok .. installed it on my mobile and started to use it  Very Pleased!
untill i looked at my bill on-line, was shocked to see BT were charging me dispite me being on "Unlimited Anytime Calls".
I phoned smart talk and the said it was a billing problem and that my account on line was set at "Unlimited Evening & Weekend calls".
After a few phoncalls to billing they said it would be sorted when my next bill was preduced and that i would
"Not be billed for BT Smart Talk" ............ I was !!!!!
I now have to wait and hope the refund is on my next bill
Is any one else in this situation and what (if anything) can i do about it?

Many thanks again for the replys ... that is the link i used to make my complaint (twice) in ther past 3 months and nothing was done with my bill ... on BT website under

  • I am being charged for 3 GB that apparently Verizon hadn't caught up on that I had used!! The last night of my cycle I called and checked and I had .5 GB left and right before midnight when the cycle ended it caught up on 3 GB!! I now have to pay for this

SO CRAPPY!!! SO FED UP WITH VERIZON!! WE ARE GETTING SCREWED OVER!! I am being charged for 3 GB that apparently Verizon hadn't caught up on that I had used!! The last night of my cycle I called and checked and I had .5 GB left and right before midnight when the cycle ended it caught up on 3 GB!! I now have to pay for this data I know I did not use! I never have my data on!! Now it says I used 7 GB last month!!!

Data usages are always estimated...I don't believe any carrier post data usage in real time.  I've had my data increased due to a large chunk being unaccounted for at the time of my cycle.  Thankfully when I'm billed for it...it has never pushed me over my limit.

I NEED HELP!! Been calling since the end of Nov and being charged for a Warranty device. The device was returned the next day!! Been calling twice a week.. I NEED HELP 6 TCC TICKETS HAVE BEEN OPENED - PROMISED CALLS BACK AND NEVER GET CALLS.
About to cancel my account and move to AT&T
    TCC TICKETS:  (removed)
I am trying here for the last resort. After this evening my account along with my business account will be cancelled. Total lines that Verizon will have lost will be 93 lines.
    PLEASE SOMEONE JUST HELP ME!!!!
I already tweeted and facebook messaged Verizon. Your CS group has gone down hill over the last 3-6 months. I use to enjoy being a customer.
    >> Edited to comply with the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service <<

not all the lines have ETF's. I have 30 tablets and the rest phones. The phones have ETFs and the tablets are all month to month.
The total to move my account over is going to come out to about $8500.
Rep has been trying to get my business for years.  I was always loyal to Verizon until this happened.

  • On Option 3 but being charged for calls that shoul...

Can anyone from BT staff please volunteer to have a look at my sham of an account, I switched to option 3 from option one in November last year, my first bill since then was produced on 18th Feb, this bill included all calls I had made which should of been inclusive (local, 0845 etc..), I already had a feeling this would happen some weeks before my bill as I had noticed that my "recent call charges" was logging the calls and adding up the cost, I was told this was normal (I know it is not as I have been on option 3 in the past and the recent call charges did NOT log the inclusive calls at all), when I phoned to ask about this I was told that "this is not the case and the calls will not be charged when your bill is produced", but they were, just as I knew they would.
Quite a lengthy online help chat session with a BT customer service lady managed to clear the problem where I was credited for those calls.
It was also agreed that I could have extra time to pay my bill and that I would receive that agreement in writing (extra time as I have recently suffered a heart attack), unfortunately I have not received this confirmation.
Since then I have now noticed that once again the "recent call charges" is adding up my inclusive calls so I know this is again going to happen on my next quarterly bill, can anyone please look into this and fix it before it gets that far as I really don't think I can take the stress of it all again, I have also noticed that I have been charged for the same call to a mobile twice (exact number, time and duration).
    Any help appreciated, thanks.
