Benefit - EOI configure

Hi,
How to configure to have the infotype 168, with the following fields defaulted and flag?
a) Statement Required - flag
b) End of Grace Period - defaulted a date
c) Locked record
I have Define Evidence of Insurability Conditions:
a) Action field - set to 2 (create a pending record for the chosen option
b) Grace Period - set to 45 days
Perform the enrollment of the insurance plan via HRBEN0001. But the above  the statement required is not flag, end of grace period is blank and record not locked.
Thanks
Nikki

Regardless of what value you configured for EOI action (e.g. create active rec, create pending record, ...), if it determines that
EOI is required, EOIRQ field in IT0168 WILL be flagged (SAP standard).
As for choosing option '2' to create pending (locked) record, this logic is ONLY applicable if the record is created through ESS (Employee Self Service), and not within SAP GUI environment (i.e. logic to lock record if EOI is required is done through SAP function 'HR_BEN_GENERATE_INSU_EIO_SELEC', and this function is only called if ee's is enrolling benefit through ESS). I aslo noticed this behavior earlier, and don't see any SAP documentations mentioning about this neither.

  • What is the benefit of configuring the XSS Homepage Framework for ESS

What is the benefit of configuring the XSS Homepage Framework for ESS?
    Over using standard iViews.

It means you can disable (or enable) the exact functionality your customer needs rather than sticking with the default implementation.
Most customes do not use everything available from ESS or MSS.  Switching it off (making it unavailable) is WAY better than leaving potentially unconfigured content to be accessed by users.  SAP generally do not handle the error cases and you will get lots of nasty stack traces .....

  • Benefit - Question on EOI configuration for Insurance plan

I have a question related to Evidence of Insurability under Insurance Plan.
The requirment is that when an EE enrolls into an Insurance plan within 30days of DOH then EE doesn't need to provide EOI otherwise if EE enrolls into the plan after 30days then its mandatory to provide EOI. Could you please help me on how to set this condition when configuring EOI?
    Thanks,
    Raj.

Hi DF, Thanks for the comment.
Actually the requirement is, the EOI to be provided by EE is determined by DOH. Under garce period it determines the period when the EE should return EOI.
In our case, the EE don't have the provide EOI when they enroll within 30 days of DOH and they must provide if they enroll after 30days.

  • Any benefit to free subscriptions outside of Newsstand?

Situation: We have a client who will publish free folios to a free multi-viewer app. The client wants the app to live outside of Newsstand.
What we know: Free folios show up in the app as soon as they're published. But, Apple offers the ability to configure free subscriptions.
Our question: What's the benefit in configuring free subscription for non-Newsstand apps? Or, does Apple simply require free subscriptions for free-folio/free-multi-issue apps to live in Newsstand?
    Thanks, as always.
    Josh Penrod

Apple created the Free Subscriptions option specifically to enable apps with free content to work in Newsstand. I see no benefit in setting up free subscriptions outside of Newsstand, and I don't even know if it's possible.

  • PJC deployment best practice

    Hi
We have started using several PJCs to enhance our 10g webforms. The conversion has not gone live and I need to decide how to deploy the PJCs.
The 2 options that I can think of:
    1. Have all PJCs packaged into one jar.
Pro - no need to change formsweb.cfg every time a new pjc is used
    2. Have separate jar files for each pjc
Pro - Easier to maintain each pjc e.g. if one changes just have to test that one rather than all as with above deployment
    - Reduce jar download quantity. Form will only download jar files required rather than one large jar file
Has anybody been through a similar process?
    Any thoughts/comments are appreciated.
    thanks
    paul schweiger

    Hi,
I think option 2 is preferrable. However, I don't see any benefit in configuring all jar files with an application.
One thing I haven't tried yet, maybe you want to try it for me and le me know if it works
Say you have common PJCs and application specific PJCs. You may be able to define
    commonPjc = pjc1.jar, pjc2.jar, pjc3.jar
Then in your application specific archive definition you do
    [myApp]
    form=...
    <the archive tag> = frmall.jar,%commonPjc%
It works for other configurations and may work for PJCs as well. This way you have a common configuration (similar to a big monolithic jar file) that you can use for each application definition). Additional, application specific jar files can be added to teh application definition
Let me know if thsi works

  • ESS - NWBC - Benefits Service Missing

    Hi Experts,
We are on ECC 6.0, EHP 6. We are using NWBC for ESS/MSS.
We have assigned standard SAP roles for ESS.
We don't see Benefits Service under Benefits and Payment. We do have assigned required roles for Canada.
Any idea, what is missing on the role side?
    Regards,
    Ashish

Also make sure you're using the correct role. SAP_EMPLOYEE_XX_ESS_WDA_3 is delivered with EHP6 and it includes the required menu setup. We're in the U.S. and it included country grouping 10 and 99 versions of the new Benefit services for us.
Also, the HRESS_A_BENEFITS_ENROLLMENT web dynpro application is driven based on system configuration and benefit adjustment reasons. For example, Open Enrollment is only available in the ESS menu if the Open Enrollment period is open in the Benefit IMG configuration. Otherwise it's not available in menu when an employee logs in.

  • BPEL Preference v/s DVM Lookup

    Hi All
Please suggest when it is appropriate to use BPEL Preferences and in which scenario DVM is better?
Can I use the following as my guideline or should I always go for DVM. Is there any performance benefit?
    Configurable Values
Dynamic based on Input : DVM Lookup
    More or less static but
changes per environment : Preferences / Properties
    Regards
    Prasad Jayakumar

    Hi,
You can use any of them as they serve the same purpose. But DVM are mostly for functional users and BPEL preferences are a bit technical and also BPEL preferences are not available for other components like in mediator.

  • Benefit Plan Enrollment requiring EOI, existing Benefit pan is delimited

    Hi Everyone,
    Here is the situation...
When an employee changes his/her benefit plan and enrolls into a
benefit plan requiring EOI, the existing benefit plan record is
delimited, it puts an end date to the existing plan. We would like to keep the existing one active until the pending one get activated when we receive the EOI.
    Do you have any ideas?
    Thank you!

    @Andre
Here is ONE way I have seen it done (a more elegant solution might be possible via User-exit/BAdI/workflow. Several moving parts here so bear with me....
    (1) Employee goes online and selects coverage that requires EOI. Say that the max without EOI is $250,000 and the max with EOI is $500,000.
    (2) On the screen that shows that coverage, verbiage is added to the effect of "The selection you made requires EOI. Your requested coverage will not be valid until EOI is provided and approved. However, during this transition, you will be covered up to the maximum of $250,00 until time that EOI has been approved."
    (3) Nightly, a batch process runs that looks for newly created records with the EOI flag empty (since the employee can not set this themselves, the record will show that it is still needed). At that time, the batch program performs the following...
    (4) In the background, the first is for the $500,000 coverage amount but is flagged "locked/inactive". A second record is created for the same dates but for the $250,000 coverage amount....therefore, the employee is in fact covered to the max w/o EOI.
    (5) Since there can now be a lag in time....Upon receipt of EOI and approval, an HR admin goes in and deletes the second "hold" record and remove the flag/lock on the original record.
    Make sense?

    Dear,
First of all please make sure your adjustment reason has been configured correctly in the IMG, specificcaly the following node
Administration ->Flexible administration -> Define Administrative
    parameters.
As well as IMG->Personal Management->Employee Self Service->Service Specific
Settings->Benefits and Payments->Benefits->Set Up ESS Parameters. Please make sure that the validity dates are correct. and finally
Benefits -> Flexible Administration ->Define Adjustment permissions
If your configuration is correct please have a look at the following
    1. Please maintain a value for "URL of PCD Page" in the resource table V_T7XSSSERRES for key EMPOYEE_GENERICENROLLMENT_SERVICE05.
    2. Another reason for the page not being displayed could be due to authorizations. See that the user has authorization to view this page.
