Bilingual feature implementation

Hi,
Can anybody tell me the steps in implementation of bilingual database (English and Hindi) in Oracle 9i. The front-end used is D2K. If anyone is aware, please reply with details of implementaton.

I haven't tried this, so I can not guarantee it would work, but have you considered using the 'response forward' pattern and chaining routing services?
e.g.
Routing service A invokes service 1
Routing service A invokes routing service B with the response from service 1
Routing service B uses it's routing rules to decide if service 2 should be invoked.
A sample response forward project can be found in the ESB samples zip file on http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/esb/index.html.
I believe this would work for you under the following conditions:
(1) One way method invocation (you are not expecting a response from routing service A)
(2) Routing rule for routing service B can be based on data in request to and response from invocation of service 1 and is not dependent on data that only exists in original request to routing service A.

Great, but now i have another question.
It is about Cookies and Stickyness, very complex:
On CSS i can have a cookie like this:
"Cookie: hrz-server1!sessionid=189545484f9u85"
"Cookie: hrz-server2!sessionid=289545484f9u85"
"Cookie: hrz-server6!sessionid=685u4895454u85"
and Search for the prefix "hrz-" searching the cookie String
"server1"
"server2"
"server3"
to determine the right server and end up with a eos Char of "!".
On The Ace, i have to tell, how the cookie is named, but the Name of the cookie itself differs more than tow times. I think the name of thee cookie is
"hrz-server1!sessionid"
"hrz-server2!sessionid"
"hrz-server3!sessionid"
Is this right, that the ACE searchs the name of the cookie, or does it work like the prefix on the css and is not correctly documented?
Any Idea how i can stick the client to the right Server using a cookie like here with the ACE Module?

Missing Feature - (Implementation) Service Orchestration

Oracle basis its 'mediation' on the 'Routing Service', in which one can filter, transform, route messages from a service consumer (business service client) to a service provider (actual service implementation, off the ESB).
Note: Even if the Routing Service routes to two of more service providers, it always assumes that the input to these service providers is the input to the main Routing Service.
In a scenario where there are two or more service providers, how does one call the second service provider with/based on data from the response of the call to the first service provider?
Does anyone currently see a way of doing this? (And please don't suggest BPEL; BPEL as the name suggests orchestrates my business services (exposed on the ESB) and not my service providers))

IOS 6 do not disturb, repeated calls feature implemented badly

I tested the "do not disturb" feature. Apparently, it hangs up an incoming call almost immediately. This renders the "repeated calls" portion of the "do not disturb" feature almost useless. This is because a caller is most likely to call a second time almost immediately if the first call gets terminated so quickly. Apple should allow the caller to continue to hear the ringing tone while keeping the callee's iPhone silent.

[Common 17-345] A valid license was not found for feature 'Implementation' and/or device 'xc7z045'.

Theimplementation feature and the whole flow was working smoothly until recently wehtn the error popped up. When I checked the license status it is still valid. I tried returning the license (with the hope to generate a fresh one), this is not going through as I see "Invalid option specified" message. I realized that the trusted storage itself was having problems. The issue that I was facing was very much similar to what is explained in the below discussion:

I followed the steps as in above and could see trusted storage itself that was having problems. And followed the steps in the above discussion and could successfully run installanchorservice.exe
This should have solved the issue if the trust was broken due to anchoring. This however, did not solve my issue. On further reading, I came across the below AR:

Based on this I could see that there are 3 reasons for Trust getting broken.
Binding (tampering the system parameters)
Anchoring
Windback
My issue is with Binding. The NIC card got disabled for some issue and I had to run diagnostics and fix it. I strongly suspect that due to this trust is broken due to Binding.
Attached the logs.txt from the the following commands:
xlicclientmgr -v "format=long"
xlicclientmgr -l
I could not find any material on the web to restore the trust of it is broken due to binding issue. Any pointers will be really appreciated.

Yes that repaired the broken license. Than you very much for this.
For the benifit of others:
It was confirmed that in my case the trust was broken due to Binding. For this, you need to provide the files that you find in the discussion above and Xilinx support will provide a xml file with instructions, that you need to follow to repair the license.

Re-Lock bit-locker feature is yet not implemented

Bit-locker is a really good feature implemented by Microsoft but unfortunately they left a small drawback on it by not Adding a re-lock option to lock the drive.. its been a long time i have been looking for this update but unfortunately it hasn't yet
came so when will this drawback will be reconsidered and taken some necessary actions, also restarting your computer all the time to lock the driver is kinda a frustration for the user's and what if someone wants to use your laptop or computer then what do
we have to restart the computer and give them to use it. come on that's not practical so please take some serious consideration about this small little area and bring up a new update for it.

There seems to be no option available to relock the drive with BitLocker UI option, further, we could take use of the command line to lock the drive:
manage-bde -lock D:

Auto-Suggest feature in Combo-box LOV is not displaying non-unique values

I have an auto-suggest feature implementation on a combo-box lov that displays the name and email-id of a list of people. There are non-unique names in the back-end, for example :
Abraham Mason [email protected]
Abraham Mason [email protected]
But when I use the auto-suggest feature and type in, say 'Ab', instead of showing both the Abraham Masons the auto-suggest displays only one of the values.
As in the example above the email-ids of the two Abraham Masons are different and unique.
If I use the conventional drop down menu of the combo-box then both the values are visible.
Is the auto-suggest feature implemented in a manner so as to display only unique values?

don't find a bug entry about this, so if this indeed is a defect then this has not been filed. Do you have a test case ? If you have please zip it up and send it in a mail to me. My mail address is in my OTN profile (just click on my name until you get to the profile). Pleas rename the "zip" extension to "unzip" and mention the JDeveloper release you work with. The test case should work against the Oracle HR schema.
If you need to track the issue, I suggest to file a service request with customer support yourself

Converting Macbook Keyboard to be Bilingual in Windows

Okay, I'll get straight to the point. I'm running a spanish tutoring program on windows using bootcamp on my white macbook. Problem is, I need my keyboard to be bilingual in order to be able to type spanish characters. I followed some instructions for turning on the bilingual feature for windows. Problem is, it says you have to hold the right "Alt" key along with the letter to convert it to a spanish letter. Yeah, you guessed it, the macbook built in keyboard does not have more than one Alt key and that one does not perform the function. So, can someone please tell me which key would perform the function of a right Alt key (right of the space bar) in windows?

The best way is to have your co-workers download the free QuickTime Player for Windows.
Better yet, have your boss watch it on QTfW and send an email out telling everybody else to watch it.

Why do not you implement support for inpu type = "date" ?

When writing sites I often faced with the need to use html code component <input type = "date">. But your browser does not support this type of data entry. Implement, please add support the <input type = "date">.

Feature request: Allow direct connections for contacts only

Hello, on Windows there is an option "Allow direct connections to contacts only" as described on http://en.kioskea.net/faq/32357-skype-hide-your-ip-from-people-who-are-not-on-your-contact-list. Many people including myself would like to see this feature implemented in the Linux client. There are solutions to protect the IP from resolvers like setting up proxies. However, the performance of free SOCKS-proxies is mostly very bad. VPNs with an appropriate bandwidth also cost an amount of money and additionally, it is difficult to only route Skype traffic through a VPN. Setting up a VM with Windows or WINE just to run Skype is an overkill as well. I consider it inconvenient that this feature is implemented on Windows while - in my opinion - mainly Linux users being aware of security might be in need for this feature. Therefore, I request to implement such a functionality into the Linux client. Kind regards from Germany

If you want to enable that feature on a Skype client that does not offer it in the GUI you would have to do it manually. Is it planned to add feature for creating tables and lists in Adobe Edge Reflow?

First of all, thank you very much guys for all your work!
In my opinion Adobe Edge Reflow is missing quite important features, like creating tables and lists. For me it's a reason why I can't switch to Reflow. Any plans for implementing these? Is there any place where I can see the list of planned feature implementation? Didn't find it.

Missing tables is a big one for me too, especially when doing data-grids. My last prototype was using multiple responsive data-grids where I used the simpler essential/optional hide column approach, instead of stacking or scrolling the data. I had used Reflow in the past for basic content prototypes... but had to do this one by hand... took longer. Using divs for this did not collapse properly in all the browsers, plus the back-end team use widgets that only generate tables. Here is the example:

[feature request] Save original image when doing HDR

As the subject says - would be very nice to have an option to be able to get both images saved - HDR and the normal shot. iPhone5 that I also use has this option and it's very handy, please implement it.
I shoot a lot on the go and sometimes the camera shakes or objects move and then the final HDR image (that is combined out of a number of images taken with different exposures has a lot of "ghosting" on it. Typical problem that is usually corrected manually when I work with big DSLRs and of course avoided by using tripod.. but anyway, please consider adding the ability to save BOTH normal shot AND the HDR one. Some other big names in industry have it, it's a nice option for some people and in general there's no reason not to have it.

People, please, if you like the idea and would like to have such feature implemented in future software updates or at least draw some attention to it, just post reply here with your approval.. or make a better suggestion. Takes just a few seconds of your time, but it's worth it.

[Feature Request] DSL line stats & manual IP settings for PPPoE/PPPoA

After having replaced a Funkwerk R232aw with a Cisco SRP547W I noticed that the software (we're on 1.2.4(003) from Jan 2012) on the Cisco device omits very basic functionality which is even availabe in the cheapest of consumer routers. Therefore I make this feature request in the hope that this may be read by someone from Cisco who could forward this to the development team for consideration for the next software update.
What's missing:
- There are only very basic DSL line stats available, and no DSL line uptime. Only if the URL is changed manually to https://[router ip]/dsldiag.asp then a hidden config page with full line stats including framing errors (unfortunately still without uptime!) becomes available. It is not described in the documentation how to find this page, and I only found out by coincidence. Full DSL line stats including error counter data and line uptime are crucial when diagnosing performance and reliability problems on the ADSL side, and really *NEED* to be available from the menue! Considering that the page already exists (albeit hidden), it shouldn't be too dificult for Cisco to include it into the menue structure and add line uptime information.
- PPPoE and PPPoA apparently are DHCP only. This is a major problem for someone with a static IP and a provider which doesn't do DHCP. It also prevents someone from avoiding using the DHCP-assigned provider DNS servers if the SRP should remain as DNS proxy. As with DSL line stats, being able to set the IP config manually for PPPoE and PPPoA is a very basic functionality that really should also be available in the SRP.
I am also aware that Cisco aims the SRP (Services Ready Platforms) Series at service providers which then give them to their customers preconfigured, and them the lack of the aforementioned functions may indeed be of no concern. However, fact is that the SRP is also sold as an individual product on the open market, to be used with any ISP. And in this environment this functionality is really important. Therefore it would be great if Cisco could include them into the next firmware release for the SRP500 series.
What else:
- Password Complexity Settings: doesn't say what is meant by "complexity" (even if disabled short passwords are not allowed). When clicking on "help" to find out, I get the Troubleshooting FAQ telling me what to do if WiFi doesn't work or there is no dial tone. The help should be fixed to point to the right page, and maybe a small line explaining what is meant by complexity could be added.
- Log Viewer: would be nice if downloaded logs would come with the .txt ending

Generally when creating a Word file from either a Mac or Win7 pc and opening it on two different machines (either one first) it always prompts that the file is open and will be opened as read only.
However opening a CSS file does not prompt that it is already open on or from any machine which is causing code edits to be lost.
What we found from out testing:
- The file can be saved from one user to the server and WILL NOT PROMPT on other machines until the saving machine has the Dreamweaver program closed completely
- The file can be closed and Dreamweaver minimised to the launch bar but it still will not register on other machines that it has been changed.
- Also, until the Dreamweaver program is closed on the machines, it will continue to open it's saved version of the file.
Example Scenario:
- User 1 opens test.css (which is 2000 lines) and adds some code to the end of the file to bring it up to 2500 lines
- Meanwhile User 2 opens test.css as well (opens as 2000 lines as User 1’s edits have not yet been saved) and adds in code to bring it to 2300 lines
- User 1 saves his file and closes it - but Dreamweaver is still open.
- User 2 also saves his file and leaves Dreamweaver open.
- The server will report the size and last edit of the file the same as User 2 as he was the last person to save it (and if you open from the Win7 Machine it will show as User 2’s 2300 line version)
- If User 1 then open's the file again (from either the 'recent' in Dreamweaver OR clicking on the file directly in Finder...which version opens.... The version that User 1 saved! Not the true version on the server, but the version that User 1 edited and saved with 2500 lines in it.
- Same for User 2, he will open 'his' version with 2300 lines in.
Other information:
- Files are opened directly from the server
- Sometimes the users will save incrementally and re-open
- Most of the time users will save incrementally and keep the files open
- The users will never not save incrementally and just save when closing the file once finished
- The users are usually working on the files all day
- It is always the bottom lines of code that are lost. It could be a case of the two versions being mixed up and cutting off the newly added lines based on the line count (possibly).
It is as if Dreamweaver is holding a cache of the version locally and then only properly looking back to the server when it has been completely closed. It is very difficult to see how the server is causing such an impact on these files, there are very few logs which are giving any indication to the root cause of the problems.
Anyone know if this is a known issue?
Is there a way that there can be a featured implemented on the server that doesn't allow another user to open a file if it is already open on another machine?

Your server file handling has nothing, and really nothing to do with Adobe software. If files don't get locked for (over-)writing and/or lose connection to the program opening them, then your server is misconfigured. It's as plain and simple and that. Anything from "known file types"/ file associations not being set correctly, MIME types being botched, crooked user privileges and file permissions, missing Mac server extensions, delayed file writing on the server, generic network timeout issues and what have you. Either way, you have written a longwinded post with no real value since you haven't bothered to provide any proper technical info, most notably about the alleged server. Either way, the only way you can "fix" it is by straightening out your server and network configuration, not some magic switch in Adobe's software.
