BPC 7.0 NW Load_Infoprovider sample package

Hi Gurus,
It is possible to load data with Load_Infoprovider sample package from a multicube?
Thanks a lot,
Raffi

Yes it is possible to load data from multiprovider into BPc application using the DM package. Please make sure that you create the right transformation file and get it validated with the multiprovider from where you want to load the data.

    Hi,
Try same user name and password as you login to your workspace.
Most of applications use Application Express authentication

    Any ideas?
    thanks,

    Hi,
here is more information. The Excel file I try to load has different columns from the standard ones (I have an HYP dimension and no INTCO dimension). I have specified the list of columns in the package parameters interface. It seems that these values are not used by the package. I think that the package waits for a file with the standard columns, no less, no more. It works fine with BPC 4.2 (I use the standard Import Excel package and the file is well loaded).
    thanks for your help,
    Romuald

  • When are sample packaged applications returning

    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/packaged-apps-090453.html
Are they coming soon, does anyone know?
    Thanks
    Marc

    Hello Paul,
    >> It would be nice to know what these deficiencies are so that we can rectify them in any applications derived from old packaged applications
I’m not a member of the development team, but from previous talks with both Joel and Marc I understand that the main changes will be with regards to utilizing the new Tabular Form features introduced in 4.1. Out of those, the main changes will be to forsake direct manipulations of the G_Fxx arrays in favor of using the “column name” with bind variable notation, both in Validations and Processes.
Where security is concern, focus on the new ways to implement Authentication and Authorization using their new implementation (based on the Plug-In technology).
As most of the packaged applications were developed for the 3.x environment, I believe that using more jQuery stuff is also something that will see in the new versions.

    Arie.

    Hi Mahesh,
Usually with loads from BI you don't need conversions, so i'd suggest you delete that reference to conversion file unless you have something in it.
If you put something in the conversion file that verify that this file located at the path you specified in your Transformation file.
    Hope this helps.

  • Loading Chart of Accounts from SAP into Account dim in BPC automatically

    Hi,
for my client I would like to take a predefined flat file from SAP containing chart of account details (account id, description and parent) and load and  process them automatically using dtsx packages in BPC 7.0 MS.
Also, I want the package to able to be able to change details when it finds an already existing account id (e.g. if the description changes) and only for the properties contained in the flat file (i.e. keep the property values the same in BPC for those properties which are not in the extract for existing account records), or to add new accounts for those that don't exist.  I don't want the existing dimension completely replaced, as the SAP file won't contain info for fields like ACCTYPE, or TYPEELIM for example.
I find the help in Data Manager extremely confusing and am not sure which bits are current or have been superceeded.
I am an application consultant with limited knowledge of DTS/ SSIS and I wonder if someone can give me a step by step detail of  what I must do to achieve this. I am sure that many people would like to do something similar.
    regards
    Scott.

Here is what you need to do in the SSIS package.
    1. You need to create exactly same structure as MBRAccount Table. Let's say tmpMBRAccount
    2. Export Account data from SAP as FlatFile
    3. You need a Script to fill in ACCTYPE or other properties that doesn't exist in SAP but mandatory for BPC account dimension. This script will change exported Flatfile.
    4. Import step3 flatfile into tmpMBRAccount table.
Some users import data into MBRtable directly but it is not good because if error happens,
there is no way to roll back until restore table from backup database.
If users use temporary table as we do, Admin task will backup and roll back if error happens.
    5. Run Admintask and point tmpMBRAccount table as source table.
    6. You need another script to update Excel member sheet from updated mbr table.
If you don't have this script, data member will be inconsistent between excel member sheet and MBR table.
Some customer add more steps to validate members or error handling.
If you are not an expert of SSIS, I think you need a technical consultant for doing this.
There are an example package in BPC sample package folder but it is very basic one.
    Thank you.

  • BPC Detail error/reject log not created in the PrivatePub/user/temp folder

    Hi,
We have a custom import package that imports data from a comma seperated txt file in to BPC. If all the data members in the data file are valid dimension members the package is successful and the package log file is created in the PrivatePub/user/Temp folder. But if there are any rejects the reject log is not getting created under the temp folder and moreover the package status is "Error". The package log is created but the reject log is not. The Webfolders has the full share permissions.
The same package runs fine in our Test environment and creates the package log and reject log.
We are on BPC 5.1 SP3.
Is there a configuration that is missing.
    Thanks in advance.
    Swaroop

I'm pretty sure that when you do not explicitly indicate a transformation file, a default file (import.xls I think?) is used.
Also, there are a number of temp files & variables that must be created in the MODIFYSCRIPT variable, and certain conversion tasks that are part of the standard import process. You can see the proper syntax in the sample import pacakges.
If you've created a new package of your own, you may be missing some key pieces. If you don't understand what all the pieces are in the sample packages (and why you don't need them), you should start by debugging with one of them, and then see what you need to add back into your package.
I'd normally recommend to start with the sample import package, and only modify it if necessary, and as little as possible.
Last thought - file permission... does the user running the package (not the end user logged into BPC, but the BPC data manager user, which I believe is the "USER" (not admin or sysadmin) set up during the server install) have appropriate access rights to that network share where the data file is located? Try changing it to a local path, and copy the test.txt to that location.

  • Copy Data Package (Referencing Target Issue)

    Hello Experts,
We are trying to run an allocation but on runtime the application doesn't recognize the target variable of the data package.
This is the Script Logic we are using:
    *RUNALLOCATION
    *FACTOR = 1
    *DIM VERSAO WHAT=$VF$; WHERE = $VT$
    *ENDALLOCATION
This is the Data Package Script used to set the parameters:
    PROMPT(COPYMOVEINPUT,%SELECTION%,%TOSELECTION%,"Test","VERSAO")
    INFO(%EQU%,=)
    INFO(%TAB%,;)
    TASK(ZBPC_DESP_RATEIOS_RUN_1,SUSER,%USER%)
    TASK(ZBPC_DESP_RATEIOS_RUN_1,SAPPSET,ORC_GERENC)
    TASK(ZBPC_DESP_RATEIOS_RUN_1,SAPP,Desp_Resp_Oper)
    TASK(ZBPC_DESP_RATEIOS_RUN_1,SELECTION,%SELECTION%)
    TASK(ZBPC_DESP_RATEIOS_RUN_1,REPLACEPARAM,%VF%EQU%%VERSAO_SET%%TAB%VT%EQU%%VERSAO_TO%)
    TASK(ZBPC_DESP_RATEIOS_RUN_1,LOGICFILENAME,TESTE.LGF)
    TASK(ZBPC_DESP_RATEIOS_RUN_1,TAB,%TAB%)
    TASK(ZBPC_DESP_RATEIOS_RUN_1,EQU,%EQU%)
When we run the Data Package, we receive a Succefull Status Message, but on the Log we can see that SAP BPC routine doesn't recognize our target. It understands that VERSAO_SET is the source of the Allocation, but it just don't read the target value of the prompt for wich variable we are using VERSAO_TO.
    LOG BEGIN TIME:2009-08-10 10:39:14
    FILE:\ROOT\WEBFOLDERS\ORC_GERENC\ADMINAPP\Desp_Resp_Oper\TESTE.LGF
    USER:CBD\24613820
    APPSET:ORC_GERENC
    APPLICATION:Desp_Resp_Oper
    FACTOR:1
    ALLOCATION DATA REGION:
    VERSAO:PTPL
    VERSAO:WHAT:PTPL,WHERE:%VERSAO_TO%,USING:,TOTAL:
On this sample, "PTPL" is the version we've selected as source, and the target we've selected is "COM" but the variable can't read it.
Assuming that "_SET" is used to reference the first variable of the prompt, could you please clarify us regarding which tag should we use to reference the second variable of the prompt?
    Thanks in advice!
Edited by: Adalberto  Vides Barbosa on Aug 10, 2009 7:26 PM

    Hi,
As discussed by the experts earlier, the problem is getting the variable %VERSAO_TO%.
The variable %VERSAO_SET% is a dynamic variable used by BPC to get value from DM package. However, the other variable is not recognized by the system.
    Hope this helps.

  • Scheduling SSIS packages through SQL Server Agent

Hello All!  I have an SSIS question for BPC 7.5 installations across multiple servers.  I have been rebuilding all my DTS packages over to SSIS and trying to learn this more dynamic environment.  Currently I have saved a copy of all my rebuilt packages from BIDS (on web server)  to the MSDB located on the SQL server.  I can manually run packages from Integration Services and load data successfully.  When I try to schedule packages based on the packages stored in MSDB, I get failures.  The errors initially suggested I was passing over a NULL password, so I adjusted the protection level of the package to ServerStorage, as opposed to the default setting.
Now I have the following error when I schedule and run it:

  • Describing content of the package.

    Hello
I'm trying to describe the content of the package from PL/SQL procedure. So far I have been using DBMS_DESCRIBE and ALL_ARGUMENTS VIEW. I have no problem with finding procedures/functions and their parameters.
What I'm having problem with is finding types defined in the package and describing them. So if there is a type of record defined in the package, I would like to retrieve the structure of the record.
Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.
    Regards
    MJ

    Hello.
The MichaelS's answer is brilliant, however I do use version 10g and this solution wouldn't work.
I was trying different approach. Let's create sample package:
    Create Or Replace
    Package Sample_Test As
         Type My_Rec Is Record (      Rec_Val_1    Varchar2(50),
                                      Rec_Val_2    Number  );
Type My_Other_Rec Is Record (Rec_Val_3    Date,
                                      Rec_Val_4    Number  );
         Type My_Tab Is Table Of My_Rec;
         Function My_Fun (P_Param_1 In Number) Return My_Tab Pipelined;
End Sample_Test;I was able to get partial result by executing query below:
    Select * From User_Types Where Type_Name Like (
                   Select    'SYS_PLSQL_'||Object_Id||'%'
                   From      User_Objects
                   Where     Object_Type = 'PACKAGE'
                   And       Object_Name ='SAMPLE_TEST'
);I was getting the three records in the output:
    SYS_PLSQL_102669_DUMMY_1
    SYS_PLSQL_102669_9_1
    SYS_PLSQL_102669_37_2
From this I can get the list of a attributes/fields using User_Type_Attrs.
There are few elements that I'm not yet sure about. Main one is how the type_name is actually build.
For example in the list above what is the meaning of the part of the string after 102669 ?
Another is how to link type_name with the name of the type that existst in the list of arguments. Like the one returned by following query:
    Select Aar.Type_Name||'.'||Aar.Type_Subname, Aar.*
    From   All_Arguments Aar
    Where  Aar.Package_Name = 'SAMPLE_TEST'
And    Aar.Data_level = 1I have to admit that it is not critical issue for me, however I'd like to understand it fully.
    Regards,
    MJ
