BPL / BC - ACCOUNTING DOCUMENT no actuallizing number ranges ?

Hi all
One question, is it correct that TDMS not update NRIV Table ?
Should i transport now the table with customer BPL or why isn't inside?
Has nobody FI User question about these ?
If yes what have you done ?
Thanks for Answers

Hi SAPERLE,
best practice is to set the corresponding number ranges to higher values (e.g. the values of the sender system). So you don't get conflicts with the new data from sender system.
Another way is copying the NRIV table with TDMS BPL. But then you're changing all the number ranges and this could cause problems in other applications.

  • Generation of Billing Document with odd number range.

    Hello SAP folks,
There is specific issue related to billing document which are generated on Production server. There are billing document which are created on a date lets say 06.01.2009 and number ranges are assigned to it. But when another Billing doc is created on some later date, then how come the number of that billing document be less number range produced on 06.01.2009.
    Billing doc -- > 95906218 dated 06.01.2009
    Billing doc -- > 95906249 dated 13.01.2009
    Billing doc -- > 95906264 dated 06.01.2009
Could anyone throw any light on the reason for this topic ???
    Regards,
    Sarthak

how come the number of that billing document be less
One possible reason could be the user would have executed via VF04 and selected for collective billing.  Based on ascending order of delivery documents, invoice would also have been generated.  This means, you have to check the corresponding delivery for the following:-
    95906249 dated 13.01.2009  and
    95906264 dated 06.01.2009
If my assumption is correct, the date what you had indicated is nothing but "Actual GI Date" from delivery.  Having said this and also as stated above,  delivery would have been created first for the billing document dated 6th and followed by the other delivery on 13th.

  • Having Two GR/IR  account based on Vendor Number Ranges.

    Dears,
Requirement of our client is to maintain Two GR/IR accounts based on Vendor number Ranges. I explained, as per standard functionality of SAP we can not have 2 GR/IR accounts based on vendor number ranges since system is checking the valuation class of Material but we can have 2 GR/IR accounts based on the Materials.
Please suggest me if there is any possiblity  of having the above scenario so that I can add more points.
    Thanks,
    Omprakash

    Hi Shahin,
    You can do this using,
Material master QM view : Set the control for inspection lot creation as each material document, batch, storage location.
Inspection plan: Use the dynamic modification at characteristics level.
DMR: Create a DMR(lets say every 5 deliveries, assuming PO delivered in 5 delieveries) and assign it to each and every characteristics which you want to skip.
Please let me know whether it helps.

  • BBP_BS_GROUP_BE for new document type and number range

    Hi gurus,
I am working on Classic scenario in SRM and currently have used the above BADI to use a different document type and number range when creating the PO in the backend system. It all works fine. The only thing is I noticed that the BE_DOC_TYPE field in the shopping cart is still reflected as 'EC' even though the PO created in ECC is for example EC1. My question: Is this standard SRM? If so, is it common to leave this field as it is or is it advisable for us to change the document type to EC1 as well? Also, is there any implication in standard SRM reporting and downstream processes that you are aware of?
Appreciate any advice on the above.
    Cheers!

We have ended up having to populate the document type on a custom field or alternatively replace the existing one.

  • Depreciation Document and its number range

    Hi
Currently we are in process of migrating system from ECC 5.0 to Ecc6.0.
ECC 5.0 for depreciation document number range was external. So when we copied the existing system to upgrade, system number ranges were copied as external for Ecc6.0
When we are trying to run AFAB (Depreciation Run), it is giving error like number range should be internal.  So i have to change that.
When i go to FBN1 and trying to remove flag for external, it is not allowing. It is display status for that column.  I have authorisation to change FBN1.
Can any one guide me to how to remove that flag.
    Thanks and Regards
    Ramarao.p

When you have a authorization problem you have first to solve that, it is possible the remove it (it is then removed for all the years for that number range, not only the last year!!)
    The steps are:
FBN1   Change intervals, remove the flag Ext
SE16  Table TABA. Select the current fiscal year and you will see the last used document (when you want to do depreciation for old fiscal years you have to fill in the number ranges to)
FBN1  Change status, fill in the last used number.

  • Number range of  accounting document for different plants

whenever a billing document is created in SD (using the T-code VF01); an accounting document will be simultaneously created in the FI module. one document type(TS,number range---60:1 to 9999 ) have four  plants .different plants have own number range and sequential document number .
eg: doc. type   num.range    fr       to           plant cty       co code
             TS           61            1        1000       PLANT_1      3100

    Hi leung,
As Mr.Rohit has mentioned it has to be done with the z table and the available user exit.
Wht we have done is.we have created no ranges in obj rv_beleg.Eg
    AA   0000000001 to 0000099999
    AB   0000100000 to 0000199999
    AC   0000200000 to 0000 299999.
Using the user exit we have created a Z table. And assignd for this ombination in the Ztable.
Plant X   Billing type A   AA
Plant Y   Billing Type A  AB
Plant Z    Billing type A  AC
Once this combination matches the appropriate invoice no range gets picked up.

  • How to change number range for document type ?

    Dear All
    Experts
How to change the number range for document types for entry view? I am trying to change the number range for all document type as per defined ranges in FBN1, but at the time of saving document type and number range the system is throwing error message as
Doc. type C1: Number range 07 is used for ledger L6 with doc. type AE
    Message no. FAGL_LEDGER_CUST093
I have defined a leading ledger in system too with these settings
    1)     Define ledger for accounting.
    2)     Defining currencies for it.
    3)     Defining ledger group for the same.
    4)     Defining accounting principles
    5)     Assignment of principles to leading ledger.
Are there any extra settings required for leading ledger settings?
I have some doubts those are :-
How document types defined at ledger level?
How to define them at leading ledger level?  (Like my case)
Focus on this will be appreciable.
    Regards,
    Sharvari Joshi.

    hi ,
The document numbers in the leading ledger and the non leading ledgers should be in sync, they should not have any differences, so incase you are trying to change the number range for C1, the  number range 07 is already been assigned to doc type AE. i guess you have cant use 07 for C1. may be you can try out with an other number range. check this and let me know if you are able to do this.
    coming to
1.How document types defined at ledger level?
2.How to define them at leading ledger level? (Like my case)
Ans 1. please try defining document types for entry view in a ledger.
path : SPRO- financial accounting new -financial accounting global settings new - document -document types -define document types for entry view in ledger.
upon prompt enter the ledger and go ahead creating the number ranges for the document types.
    Hope this helps.

  • Overlapping Number Ranges for GL Accounts - does this allow duplicates?

    Hi there,.
I am just-trying to understand GL numbering ranges.
If I create two GL account groups with overlapping number ranges, what (if anything), is stopping me from creating two GL accounts with identical numbers.
When l try to do this in fs00 I get a message telling me that the account already exists in the company code. Surely having the concept of an account group with overlapping number ranges implies that the account group forms part of the GL account's unique key and therefore allows duplicate GL account numbers.
Or does overlapping mean the ranges ovelap but the GL account numbers have to be unique?
    Confused
    Gerald.

    Hi,
Since a chart of accounts contains many different types of accounts, they can
be grouped into different account groups. Usually, one account group groups
accounts with the same tasks within the general ledger, for example, cash accounts,
material accounts, asset accounts, profit and loss statement accounts, and so on.
By assigning a number range to an account group, you can ensure that accounts
of the same type are within the same number range. Number intervals for G/L
    account master records can overlap.
You must enter the account group in the chart of accounts segment; it controls the
appearance of the company code segment of a G/L account. For example, for all
of your cash accounts, you want to be able to display all of the line items. In
Customizing, you therefore alter the field status for your “Cash Accounts” account
group to make “line item display” a required entry field.
    Thanks

  • Vendor Number Range relation with account group.

    Dear All,
I have one more doubt. Kindly clarify.
I know that account group and vendor number range and linked with each other. Number range can be assigned to one or many account groups. Let's consider a case where 3 Account groups (assume X,Y & Z) have one common number range. When we create a vendor, in an account group (for example, X) vendor code assigned internally is 100000.
Subsequently if we create another vendor in the account group Y, will the vendor code assigned intenally be, "100001", considering intervals to be of 1 or any other number falling in the number range assigned to this account group?
Does there lie any rule or method which assign the code in this manner or any other...?
    EnjoySAP,
    Thanks

    Hi,
When a vendor master record is created, a unique number identifying the master record is assigned. The number comes from the number range provided for the account group.
    Internal number assignment
Here the SAP R/3 System automatically assigns a consecutive number from the number range defined, irrespective of any number of account groups attached to which the number range has been assigned.

  • Document number range object

    Hi
Please tell document number range object . T-code :FBN1
    PLEASE URGENT
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Hello
A number range must be assigned to each document type in the SAP System. Via the document types, you distinguish the postings according to the different business transactions, for example customer payment, vendor credit memo, and so on. To store documents separately according to document types, you must assign a separate number range to each document type, for example to invoices or to credit memos.
    In the following activities:
You define your document number ranges.
You can determine which intervals of document number ranges are to be copied from one company code into another.
You can determine which intervals of document number ranges are to be copied from one fiscal year into another.
    Define Document Number Ranges
In this IMG activity you create number ranges for documents. For each number range you specify (among other things):
a number interval from which document numbers are selected
the type of number assignment (internal or external)
You assign one or more document types to each number range. The number range becomes effective via the document type specified in document entry and posting.
You can use one number range for several document types. This means you can differentiate documents by document type but combine them again for filing the original documents, provided you store your original documents under the EDP document number.
    Note
The type of number assignment is of special importance. For each document type you should check whether a separate number range must be used and which type of number assignment is most appropriate.
One example of a case where external number assignment would be suitable is when you transfer documents into your SAP system from a non-SAP system. The numbers must be unique. The number range is not displayed with external numbers. You must therefore ensure that you do not skip any numbers when entering numbers manually (for organizational reasons).
You should use internal number assignment if the original documents do not have a unique document number. This is the case, for example, with vendor invoices.
Number ranges for documents are company code-dependent. You must therefore create your number ranges for each company code in which the document type is used, namely with the same number range key.
The number intervals must not overlap. If you use year-dependent number ranges, you can specify the same interval with the same key several times for different to- fiscal years  (the limit up to which a number range is still valid). If you want to define number ranges which are independent of the to-fiscal year, enter 9999 in the to- fiscal year field.
    Caution
For sample documents, use a number range with key X2, for recurring entry documents with key X1. These keys may not be used for other number ranges.
    Recommendation
Store your original documents (paper documents) under the EDP number of the SAP System. You should write the EDP document number on the original document. In this way, the original document for a business transaction can be found at any time.
    Activities
    1. Determine how document filing is to be carried out in your company codes.
    2. Define your number ranges accordingly.
    3. Make sure that the number ranges are assigned to the corresponding document types.
    Copy to Company Code
In this activity, you can copy intervals of document number ranges from one company code to other company codes. To do this, you have to store the following information:
    Intervals which are copied
To fiscal year(s) (validity limit up until which the number range is valid)
Company code from which you copy (source company code)
Company code(s) into which you copy (target company code(s))
    Activities
Make all necessary specifications for copying the number ranges.
    Note
The number ranges are only copied into a target company code if no number ranges exist there within the selected "To fiscal year" interval.
    Notes on transporting
The documentation for the step "Define document number ranges" describes how to transport document number ranges.
    Copy to Fiscal Year
In this activity, you can determine which intervals of document number ranges are to be copied from one fiscal year into another per company code. To do this, you have to define the following information:
Company code(s) within which you copy
Number range number(s) which are copied
Fiscal year from which you copy (source fiscal year)
Fiscal year into which you copy (target fiscal year)
    Activities
Make all necessary specifications for copying the fiscal years.
    Note
The number ranges are only copied per company code into the target fiscal year if no intervals exist there for this fiscal year.
