BPM Versioning

In my Repository I have 5 versions of my BPM.
In my Directory I have named my Integration Process as BPM_CRM, but depending on the Test cases I may bring Version 1 or version 2 and so on.
My question is if there is a way to find out which version I have loaded in the Integration Directory?
Thanks.

Karen,
Are you looking for a versioning based on SWCV or the based on the activation of your change list ?
If it is based on SWCV then in ID you will configure/create integration process for a particular namespace and SWCV combination, hence the chosen vesrion of BPM(based on SWCV and namespace) in ID will be loaded at runtime.
If it is generated workflow version then the active version will be loaded at runtime (can be seen in transaction SWDD).
Regards
Anand

  • BPM Process Webservices in clustered engine

    Hi all!
    I've an ALBPM engine deployed on a clustered server (2 managed and 1 admin) with several processes exposed as web services.
    My ALSB invoces the processes using a business service that have the endpoints of the two nodes of the cluster, configured to use Round-Robin algorithm:
    - http:// myserver:9011/myengine/ws/myprocess
    - http:// myserver:9012/myengine/ws/myprocess
    in a proxy service on service bus I use the BS to get the BPM session, using startSession, and then to invoke the process creation. It works but I get always a warning that indicates "invalid session".
    Analyzing the problems it came out that the BS poits to one node (let's suppose the first one) for the startSession and then to the 2nd for the creation of the instance (due to round-robin).
    ALSB gets an invalid session warning just because the session itself was created on the 1st node. At this point ALSB changes node (from 2nd to 1st) in order to try all of the node configured and of course it works perfectly.
    My customer is actually receiving tons of unwanted warnings.
    Anyone has suggestion to avoid this?
    Of course I've tried to set the algorithm to "none", letting ALSB to use always the 1st node, and the 2nd only if the first fails. But this would mean that all of the work load will go on one node. In addiction if a node fails, there is no chance to continue the process (create instance or send notifications) because the session ID is not useful on the other node.
    (hope that is understandable)
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Which BPM version are you using?
    If your version is 6.0 or greater, then I would recommend using WS-Security in your process web service.
    Once you enable the security you will see that the WSDL changes, and the startSession disappears. In this way, you will be able to perform the request by using a single invocation.
    By the way, Process Web Service without security was kept as a "backward compatibility" but it is deprecated. (we recommend not to use it)
    Hope this helps,
    Ariel

  • BPM properties not able to change in PI 7.3

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on the BPM, version PI 7.3.
    I am facing problem with BPM properties.  I am unable to change the properties. (Example: Send step Mode property by default is set to Async, I want change it to Sync). Let me know if any one faced similar problem and whatu2019s the solution.
    Thanks in advance !!!!

    Hi Chandra,
    Do you solved this problem?
    If yes, how?Because i have a new instalation of PI 7.3 and I can't change any properties of objects in Integration Process (BPM), like yours.

  • Messages in BPM with Status Waiting

    Hi,
    I have created BPM for Message Collect like the standard SAP Pattern BpmPatternCollectMessage. But for terminating Message I’ve used Message type (Message interface) different from the Message type in the main Fork section. I thought that it is possible correlation between two message Interfaces with different Message types?
    Any way I had an Error in my BPM and after a test the Status for my Messages is Successful for inbound and Waiting (Message being sent) for Outbound. All my Messages are collected in a Queue, Wait step is created but BPM don’t proceed further.
    So I’ve made some changes in my BPM and tried with a new Test but it works with the old Version of the BPM and collects the Messages in the same Queue. So any idea how can I use the new BPM version? Should I Delete Manually the old Messages with Status Waiting or there is also different way?
    Thanks
    Naycho

    >>>I thought that it is possible correlation between two message Interfaces with different Message types?
    yes it is
    >>>>All my Messages are collected in a Queue, Wait step is created but BPM don’t proceed further.
    have you registered queues on XI? TCODE - SXMB_ADM - manage queues ?
    >>>Test but it works with the old Version of the BPM and collects
    try looking at: SXI_CACHE - integration process- check if your new process has 0 status - activated

  • Oracle BPM - Expense Management Example problem

    Hi,
    I have just started to explore Oracle BPM Version 10.3.2 and I am trying to execute the Expense Management Project as given in the starters documentation.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/tutorial/index.html
    After deploying the process and going into the workspace using
    http://localhost:8585/workspace
    I am not getting anything listed in the Applications tab. It is showing the following error:-
    Could not retrievePrincipal applications for process '/ExpenseReporting'.
    I searched in this same forum and came across this post:-
    Re: Why there is no application in workspace?
    which says that it may be due to version conflicts or some error coming up in the problems tab.
    I checked my problems tab but it is not showing anything.
    Eliminating this I thought it may be due to version conflicts (as i am following the post) so I uninstalled all my JDK's and just installed jdk 1.6 update 21 but still I got the same problem - i think this solved the issue for some users (Satya Anareddy)
    Then in one comment in the same post given by Dan (Daniel Atwood ) i tried using the default 1.5 JM.
    But still I am getting the same error.
    I am completely confused as to what the problem could be.
    Please could anyone give me some directions.
    Thanks,
    Rohit

    Please follow this step may this solve your problem.
    please modify any thing in process "ExpenseReporting" for example any transition or any activity to place some where else or any other modification and then save that process. Then clean the project and build and deploy it.
    if this also not solve the problem then export that project to and import it again in your workspace (Create new workspace or change the project name in same workspace ) and then again clean, build and deploy the application then test in work space.

  • BPM Workspace - Persistent column resizing & locking down Priority field

    Hello All,
    BPM version 11.1.1.7
    1) In the BPM workspace, a user can resize the visible columns in the tasks list in the Inbox views or other views. However, as soon as the user navigates out and returns to the view , the layout gets resset. All the column resizing is lost. This happens within the same session. Is this expected behaviour? Is there any way to alter this?
    Usually in ADF applications, hooking the application to MDS and enabling user customizations persists the column resizing across sessions. I am wondering why (if) this hasn't been done for the workspace.
    2) The priority field is editable by any user. Is there a way to lock this down based on roles? i.e. only certain roles may edit the priority.
    TIA,
    Bijesh

  • Move BPM Databases

    We currently have our Oracle BPM Dev/UAT Engine and Directory databases on a sort of "sandbox" server and we are looking to move this to a DBA managed server with an export from our Production instance.
    I see that I need to point to the new Directory database using BPM Admin Center and the new Engine database using the BPM Process Admin.
    Are there any other considerations or catches to this procedure?
    My database is Oracle Enterprise 10.2 and my BPM version is 10.3.1.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shannon
    Edited by: Shannon on Mar 21, 2011 7:49 AM

    I also see that these connections are configured in Weblogic (my server is version 10.3) under Services -> JDBC -> DataSources.
    Will I need to change the database connection information here as well, or will it pick up the change from BPM Process Administrator and Admin Center?
    Thanks again,

  • Making a BPM application available outside firewall

    Hi all,
    We have BPM version 11.1.1.6.0
    We have developed BPM application (A simple form for the applicants who are external users  (to our network) and when submitted will be reviewed by internal users).
    The application also has a customized ADF interface. This is working perfectly fine when being tested within the firewall.
    Now we want to release this to the public users (who will be creating their individual accounts to use the application). We tried setting up proxy, but encountered a problem, where on certain sections of the application, specially when users are using 'SAVE'/'SUBMIT' buttons that are on BPM interface, to submit or save the form, the application fails with 'URL not found 404 Error'.
    We have set up a proxy server for the prod BPM server, which will be in DMZ.
    After digging further we found that one of the URL paths that was being executed when the application failed, is referring to the host name , not the the name of the server that is specified in the proxy, which would be its DNS entry name.
    This is happening each time SAVE/SUBMIT buttons are pressed from the BPM side. Please note that these are default buttons provided by the BPM interface and we did not customize these buttons.
    Is this is configuration issue on the server? or is it something to do with application configuration? We have been staring at it so long now, looks like we are hitting a wall. This is the first ever BPM app from our shop, so we are pretty green on this and would appreciate some expert advise.
    Thanks
    SR

    Hi SR,
    These hostname URLs are generated for the SOA/BPM worklist app using the WFTASKDISPLAY table. You'll find the table in the SOAINFRA schema (you installed this with the repository creation tool rcu). The table gets populated several ways, but usually on deployment of an ADF Human task flow to the soa server. It can be modified after deployment through enterprise manager. Oracle do not recommend editing it directly. The supported way to edit it is to go to the human task service engine and find the human task. From memory - get to the human task engine in EM by right clicking the Soa in EM, then select service engines, then human workflow. You should find your human tasks in the lists displayed.
    This may not be the the full answer for you but will hopefully get you looking in the right place to fix your hostname issue.

  • How to migrate BPM 11g server to another BPM 11g server

    Hi All,
    There is no change on BPM version (BPMN Editor 11.1.1.3.0.6.84 )
    just simply a physical migrate, changed application server, DB and server domain/IP
    Now we met questions when migrate DB date, there are four schemas DEV_MDS、DEV_SOAINFRA、DEV_ORABAM、DEV_ORASDPM, cannot used including install config settings, could not be used any more, could not be started.
    Is there any guide of how to migrate just user data please?
    Thanks for any help!
    Regards,
    Katherine

    Migration of environment should really be done through backup tools that ensure a consistent point-in-time view of the data. We recently had a need to use import/export for an environment. I'll post those notes here hopefully save some time if you have to use this approach. But I'll emphasize again that a backup/restore model is the better way to go.
    What we did
    We took an environment that had a small set of BPM processes and exported the data from the three core schemas.
    •     PS2_MDS
    •     PS2_SOAINFRA
    •     PS2_ORASDPM
    We then loaded that data into another domain, started the server, and interacted with the composites that had originally been deployed in another domain.
    What we didn’t do
    •     Export complex composites. We didn’t have access to things like AIA applications
    •     Export large amounts of data
    •     Test a broad set of features. We did use Workspace to create roles, view dashboard, and interact with task lists.
    What we learned
    We believe this confirmed the basic assumption that data can be exported from one BPM/SOA environment, then loaded and run in another environment. However the issues around user privileges, starting queues, etc, highlight the need to test the process in a broader context.
    Tools Used
    Data Pump
    Data Pump is an import/export tool provided by Oracle. A summary of features can be found at:
    http://wiki.oracle.com/page/Data+Pump+Export+%28expdp%29+and+Data+Pump+Import%28impdp%29
    SQL*Plus
    Used to run scripts
    Setup
    Create Users
    The data pump export will include privilege information in the export. And the data pump import will create users in the target database (assuming sufficient privileges for the user running the import). However we found that some roles related to AQ were not granted during the import. To resolve that issue we created scripts to pre-create the schema users and grant required privileges in the target environment.
    TODO:
    1.     Review the required privileges to see if there are data pump options that would resolve this
    2.     Verify that there are no additional privileges needed by applications in the target integration environment.
    Create Output Directory
    Data Pump needs to have access to the file system from the database.
    Make sure that the output directory is writable by the DB process.
    From SQL*Plus:
    create directory dbexport as '/scratch/ dbexport';
    grant read,write on directory dbexport to system;
    Export Data For Selected Schemas
    The Data Pump tool supports providing a list of schemas to export as part of a single operation. In this test case we exported the following core BPM schemas to a single file. The commands are in the do_exp.sh script.
    •     PS2_MDS
    •     PS2_SOAINFRA
    •     PS2_ORASDPM
    TODO:
    1.     Verify space required for the target database to ensure that there is sufficient space to export the data.
    Import Data into Target Schemas
    Data Pump supports mapping schema names and table spaces as part of the import specification. In this case we used the same Oracle instance, so the schemas were mapped to new names. The PS2 prefix was mapped to XYZ.
    Note that the OID transform property is required to avoid conflicts with existing object Identifiers.
    impdp system/welcome1 DIRECTORY=dbexport DUMPFILE=bpm.dmp transform=oid:n \
    REMAP_TABLESPACE=PS2_MDS:XYZ_MDS \
    REMAP_TABLESPACE=PS2_SOAINFRA:XYZ_SOAINFRA \
    REMAP_TABLESPACE=PS2_IAS_ORASDPM:XYZ_IAS_ORASDPM \
    REMAP_SCHEMA=PS2_MDS:XYZ_MDS \
    REMAP_SCHEMA=PS2_SOAINFRA:XYZ_SOAINFRA \
    REMAP_SCHEMA=PS2_ORASDPM:XYZ_ORASDPM \
    TODO:
    1.     Check the log for errors. The only errors we saw were related to trying to build stats on empty indexes.
    2.     Identify any other schemas being used
    3.     Verify if any other transform operators are needed
    Post Import
    Start Queues
    SOA infrastructure makes use of queues in the DB server. While the queue structures were created, they were not started as part of the import. The start_queues.sql script starts the queues.
    TODO:
    1.     Verify if there are any other queues that need to be started/configured
    2.     Verify if there are any other Stream/Queuing configuration tasks needed
    Update Data Sources on WLS
    Assuming an existing installation of SOA, the datasources need to be updated to use the new schemas.
    Start Domain and Verify Logs
    It’s important to check the admin and managed server logs for errors related to composite instances and MDS operations.
    Verify Composite State
    Log into EM and ensure that the state of instances is consistent with the prior state.
    Verify Application Roles and Role Mappings
    Since the composites are loaded from MDS, there will be no deployment to create application roles. If the environment is using LDAP or DB, then the validation is to check the mappings through Workspace. If the old environment used a file store, then you’d have to crate the role mappings through Workspace.
    Verify Workspace Operations on Existing Instances
    Verify that task list operations and dashboards are functional.

  • How to set up email notification for custom activities.

    Hi,
    I want to send automated e-mail's in some specific activities, not in all of them.
    Is there any way to disable sending the e-mail particularly on some activities inside a process?
    BPM Version: 10.3.2.
    Build: #101201
    Regards.

    Hi,
    You can send email from any of the automatic activity by using Fuego Mail API.
    Configure the SMTP sever with respect to your project in studio (Project >> Engine >> General Tab >> SMTP Mail Server Name).
    In Enterprise server (Engine >> Click on the engine configured >> Networking Tab >> SMTP Mail Server Name)
    Create a method inside your project for sending email, example sendEmail()
         mail as Mail
         mailContain = Mail()
              mail.from = <"[email protected]">
              mail.recipient = <"[email protected]">
              mailContain.subject = <"Hi">
              mail.message = <"Hello">
              mail.attachments[0] = MailAttachment(fileName : <>)
         mailSender as MailSender
         mailSender = MailSender(mail)
              send mailSender
       3.  Define a Boolean variable with default value set to FALSE.
       4.  Inside the automatic activity where you want to send email, construct your mail body and set it in the mail.message
       5.  If you want to send email then set the Boolean variable to TRUE and inside the automatic activity check for the variable value.
       6.  If the value set to TRUE, call the sendEmail()
    Hope this help you.

  • Two Alerts for one scenario: Application Error and No mapping found

    Hello,
    we have a synchronous scenario here embedded in an BPM.
    The last send step step is sync. The receiver is a web service (SOAP adapter) which sends back a response.
    Problem with the response from the service:
    First test: error entries in SXMB_MONI and in RWB
    RWB only shows message "No mapping found".
    SXMB_MONI shows more:
    1 entry for send step (status: log version)
    1 entry for APPLICATION ERROR for response
    1 entry for NO_MAPPING_PROGRAMM_FOUND for response
    APPLICATION ERROR:
    We have changed to trace level 3 now and there are some messages:
    level 3 message type T: Unknown channel type: SOAP
    Don´t know if this matters, because the channel is the sender channel.
    NO_MAPPING_PROGRAMM_FOUND:
    We have checked the whole implementation.
    It is completed w/o anything missing. the required mapping is available.
    No left change list entries to be activated.
    Error text:
    The Interface-Mapping http://xxx.com/xi/global GetDocIDsReq_nach_GetDocIDsResp is not available in runtime cache
    We made more than one full cache refresh but w/o any effect.
    We checked: There are no locks left!
    Does anybody here have experience with this problem or has more ideas what to do?
    Best regards
    Dirk

    Hello Dirk,
    We figured out that if you change your message mapping you also have to refresh and save your Interface Mapping.
    To ensure that your messages are equal with your Interfaces and the Message Types you should test the Interface Mapping by using integration Builder.
    If this works you have to check your BPM.
    By using BPM we figured out that if there is a fault in a BPM version the engine will not use this new version.
    To figure out which BPM version is used you have to open the
    Process Monitor à select the process and display the graphic à navigate to EXTRAS and select Workflow Builder. There you will see which BPM is really used. Maybe this is an old one.
    Hope this will show you where the problem is.

  • Can't extend a domain to add BAM

    Greetings,
    I installed a WLS 12c domain having an admin server, a soa/bpm one and an OSB one. I'm trying know to extend it such that to have a BAM managed server as well. I'm using the BAM_MGD_SVRS template. When the Configuration Wizard finishes the following error is displayed:
    Traceback (innermost last): File "", line 671, in ? File "", line 38, in bam_configure_domain File "", line 95, in readDomain SyntaxError: ('invalid syntax', ('', 1, 77, "print 'Error: Un domaine ou un mod\xE8le de domaine est d\xE9j\xE0 actif. Utilisez d'abord closeDomain() ou closeTemplate().'"))
    which means "A domain or a domain model is already active. Use closeDomain() or closeTemplate() first".
    Here is an excerpt from the log file:
