Browse work item on WAS

Hi,
I would like to know how to browse work item through browser where WAS only installed in non-production environment.
We deployed custom travel management application which was developed by using WD Java. Once user submits a trip request, work flow will be triggered in R3 and displayed in his Managers UWL inbox. This functionality only works in Prod environment as Portal installed.
Is there any way to browse work item ..

Appreciate your inputs.
Thank you,
Ajay

Hi Girish,
I understood your problem.
A method can be Synchronous or ASynchronous. You can check this by double clicking on the method in your business object (a check box for Synchronous ).
If the method your calling is synchronous then inspite of creation or cancellation or any kind of action you take the workitem will be gone since its an Synchronous method.
If the method is ASynchronous, the work item will be gone only when some conditions are satisfied.
Now the question is how to set those conditions.
1. Create your method as ASynchronous (Remove the check box).
2. Go the your workflow and create an activity with task having this ASynchronous method. There is a tab in your task called "Termination Events" Give the events for which you want your workitem to get terminated.
Please check what is the event available for Posting/Parking the document and use that event in the termination tab of Task.
if there is no event then you need to create an event and trigger it manually in some user exits when the document is parked.
Hope i have clearly explained you. If you didnt understand anything, revert back to me.

  • Browse Work items assigned to a user.

    Hi experts,
is there any table or somewhere where i can get the relation between a workitem and a user when it is assigned to him?  I am looking for a list of workitems assigned to a user that have not been yet processed or something like this.
    Than-you very much,
    Artur.
Edited by: Artur Rodriguez Coma on Jan 26, 2010 12:37 PM

    Hello Artur,
you should find those in the
    Table: SWWUSERWI
Depending on your requirements, you could also use the
    Function module: SAP_WAPI_CREATE_WORKLIST
which offers a bite more filtering options, takes substitution into account and will probably cope with assignments through the organizational model better.
However, for a quick-view or so, you can be well with that table already.
    Best wishes,

  • Delete Work Item from PO Releaser's Inbox during Workflow

    Hi All
How can I delete the previous Work Item that was created in the PO Releaser's Inbox if a PO was changed which re-triggered the PO Release workflow but this time to a different PO Releaser.
The workflow is working correctly, i.e. creating the new release item in the new releaser'd Inbox but not deleting the old Work Item for the previous releaser.
Any idea on how I can accomplish this?
    Kind Regards

PLease refer the below stuff................create a task and put the code inside the method. This task should be fisrt step in your workflow.
User sets doc to Complete from FBV2 , Complete event triggered and workflow triggered.
    Workitem goes to approver .
Now , the user immediately changes doc from FBV2 , sets it to Complete again and workflow triggered
workitem goes to the same approver for the same document.
SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_TO_OBJECT - Worklist table will giv all parent id's for the object key concatenation of
com code , doc no and fiscal year.
SWP_WORKFLOW_INSTANCE_DELETE - Pass the parent id and will delete the entire instance but not
    parent workitem id.
    SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_DELETE - Pass parent id everything will be deleted .( Check_final_state = blank ).
No trace found in SWI14 and SWI2_FREQ.
To remove the previous workitem , create a method in the begining of the workflow , use F.M.
SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_TO_OBJECT to get the workflow id's and then
SWP_WORKFLOW_INSTANCE_DELETE or SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_DELETE to delete the previous instance.

Second way is to create a fork , and use wait for event step in it with the same event that is triggering the WFL
In the same branch take a process control to end workflow instance.
In the second branch carry out normal processing.
    Necessary branch = 1.
So incase the user triggers the event again, a new instance will be created ,
and in the previous instance , the first branch will follow ending the
previous instance and the workitems of other branch will be logically deleted.

  • Rejected Work Item Resubmission

If workflow is constructed in a way where work items are rejected by an approver but sends a notification to the user with a link to edit their rejected work item (in this case an FI document), does this create a new work item or will this be a continuation of the original work item that was rejected?  If both are possible what is the recommended approach for this?

    Hi Hari,
I didnt get your requirement clearly.
From what I understood, the workitem that was rejected would end as a decision has been taken on it.
Now a new workitem would get created to send a notification to the user with a link to edit their rejected FI document. Else you can send a mail (not a workitem) to the user to notify him of the rejection and to edit the FI document.
The user needs to manually go and edit the document.

  • Displaying URL (in work item description) as Hyperlink in UWL

    Hi experts,
I have successfully configured my UWL to retrieve and display work items under "Tasks" tab.
However some of the work items contain a URL which I would like to display as a hyperlink (i.e. clicking on the hyperlink opens a new browser window and takes the user to the specified location). Currently the UWL displays these URL as plain text.
I tried to add HTML tags: &lt;a href="http://www.abc.com"&gt;http://www.abc.com</a> to denote the URL as a hyperlink. The URL was correctly interpreted as a hyperlink on SAP inbox (transaction code SBWP). However, when it is accessed via UWL, the HTML tags are incorrectly displayed in plain text.
Please kindly advise whether any configuration can be done to the UWL such that it will correctly recognize and display the URL as a hyperlink. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Lionel

    Hi Lionel,
You can't directly do what you want with the workitem text, but there is perhaps a workaround.  If you make the URL available as an element in the workitem container and include it in the text that way, you will preserve the original functionality, but more importantly you will then be able to configure a custom action in the UWL which refers to this URL. The result will be visible to your users as a seperate link or button in UWL.
See <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/3a/648b505d764efcbbcbf7fab0e3070a/frameset.htm">URL Launcher</a> in the SAP docs for details of how to do this config.
    Hope this helps,
    Darren

  • Error while opening work item in Inbox sbwp for verifcaion of right invoice

    Hi,
I am working on SAP workflow with IXOS.
I faced  a problem in opening the workitem when it came into the inbox.
In nomal scenario when i click on the workitem under workflow folder in my inbox, it opens the attached document in document viewer, i can see the attached document ,and after verifying it ,i can furher process it.
But now when i click on the work item in my inbox it directly takes me to the next processing window, without opening the attached document for my verification, so i am unable to check that i am processing the right invoice.
    Please help.

Yes, it was working fine before.
And also the problem generally rise in afternoon.

  • Workflow loop, return the work item to the inbox, instead of automatically executing the work item

    Hello all,
Within a workflow I have a loop. Inside that a foreground step is executed. Then a condition step is executed to decide if the workflow should continue, stop, or return the work item to the inbox.
This new workflow was modeled after an existing workflow that is doing just that. Unfortunately, this new workflow is not returning the work item to the inbox. Instead, it just keeps displaying the screen that is called by the function module that is called by the business object method that is executed when the foreground task runs.
I've included a Word document with further detail in a number of screen prints. Hopefully this is something that will experience workflow developer may have seen before and know how to correct.
Unfortunately I have done very little workflow development and don't have a clue what might be causing this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Bruce
I could not attach a Word file, so I added 3 jpg files.  I would have added another 3, but it seems that posts are limited to 3 files.

    Hi Bruce,
As per your design, If you are approving or returning, the workflow loops back to the step "Approver - stat key approve".
Suppose you are one of the approver for this step ""Approver - stat key approve" and if you click on approve or return, then it will try to create a new workitem for "Approver - stat key approve" step.
As you are one of the approver again, the window opens immediately instead of reaching the inbox of all other approvers.
Include a dummy activity step in the "approve & return" condition outcome.
Active the workflow & refresh the buffer SWU_OBUF.
After this, when you click on return it will not open the same screen again. Instead it will be reaching all the approvers' SAP inbox.
    Thanks,
    Karthikeyan

  • How can I add a Custom Field in Work Item "Bug" in VisualStudio Online agile MSF Template?

We are using Visual Studio Online for task and bug tracking. The problem we are facing is that very few fields are available to working with. We need to add custom fields to filter bugs on multiple attributes like OS, Device model, Verified in build etc.
We do not have local TFS server setup. The support questions i have read, they ask to update XML file for work item but i dont know how and where to get that xml file. Also is there any particular Role needed to access such configuration files?

    hi Zahid
as already written above currently it is not possible to customize a process template on Visual Studio Online.
but for your purpose you can use tags to save the attributes.
see here Visual Studio Online - Work Item Tagging

  • In GP how to get work items in outlook inbox

    Hi,
Any one can explain me how to send work items to Outlook Mail. This option is there in ABAP work flow. I need solution in GP.
    Please give any sloution.
    Thanks,
    Sunil

    Hi Jonathon,
in our last project, we faced the same problem and resolved it with a standard notification CO:
    - we put a notification CO (+ action) in front of the action you mentioned (that one that generates the UWL's workitem and provides the CO for manual processing)
    - the notification's addressee will be the current processor, who is also the guy to do the manual processing
    - the notification email contains a link to the process' current workitem, which is the action you mentioned (e.g. a webdynpro form or whatever the manual processing is)
The result is, that there will be an automatically sent notification, followed by the normal manual processing. And our client was happy to be able to customize every single email.
See this link for email administration: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/f9097d1b607061e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm

  • Warning messages "You are not a receiver of the work item"...

    Hi Experts,
We are facing an issue in which couple of users are getting warning messages "You are not a receiver of the work item" in there Portal Inbox. But they are not getting any warning message while accessing the same from R/3 inbox. We tried replicating the issue but it is working fine for us. Is it related to workitems which are of any particular type??? Kindly suggest.....
Just to add some more thing we have gone through the Forum : UWL workitem error: you are not a receiver of the work item and also the OSS notes: 1133821, but we do not get any appropriate solution.
    Please suggest.
    Appreciate your quick response.

    Hi Enrique,
    Yes users are using SSO.
As suggested I have checked in transaction SU53 and there is no error message for the user i.e. we are getting success message as  "The last authorization check was successful".
Please suggest what can I try.
Also adding to this, Warning message which users are getting is not a show stopper i.e. they are able to process workitems successfully.
    Thanks,

  • Already opened error message while opening GP work item

    Hi Experts
We are on NW 7.0 SP 14. We have a custom developed solution integrated with Guided procedure workflow. This workflow was working fine for almost 5-6 months. For last few days we have started getting following issue when one of the step processor executes the work item in the UWL.
The following action has been opened by another 1 user(s). The last access time is: Tuesday, July 28, 2009 3:09:26 PM.
This error is coming when there is only one user assigned as processor of the step and he opens the work item for first time.
I did a search on this issue in SAP notes and SDN but could not find anything relevant. Let me know if you need more info on this.
Any pointer to resolve this solution will be appreciated.
    Best Regards
    Prabhakar

I think the work item may got locked.
If this the case, you can un-lock it from :
Guided Procedures --> Administration --> Unlock Objects.
    This may solve your problem.

  • HCM Forms&Process :Authorization error while opening work item in the UWL

    Hi,
The process has been started successfully and the work item was appeared in the  UWL of MSS.
But when I try to open the work item  , I got the following errors:
"User XXXX doesnot have authorization on pernr 8000123"
"You are not authorized to process this process"
When I checked, the User XXXX has the required roles for authorization such as SAP_ASR_MANAGER and SAP_ASR_EMPLOYEE and the authorization object P_ASRCONT has been assigned to it as well.
Still why these errors are coming?
    Does anybody know about it?
    Thanks & regards,
    Lek

    Hi,
I have had exactly the same error. Make sure you have read the help.sap.com documentation carefully:
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/43/3d8f8118391bcbe10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm. The minimum requirement is access to one infotype (it does not matter whether there is data in the infotype and it does not matter which infotype you choose) via CHECK_MIN_PERNR_AUTHORIZATION of BAdI HRPAD00AUTH_CHECK. More specifically, we solved it be providing access to infotype 0002 to all employees.
Furthermore, check what level of authorizations you have set in the config for the activities.
IMG->Personnel Management->HR Administrative Services->Authorizations->Define Authorization Method for Activities (All Processes) or Define Authorization Methods for Activities (for Each Process Group).
This should help you solve your problem.

  • Creating a new work item instance in a process using PAPI

I'm seeing that there are a lot of questions on this forum about using Oracle BPM 10g's Java API called PAPI.
I just uploaded a step by step document on how you could do this using JDeveloper 11. Here's the link to this document: http://www.4shared.com/file/126507332/e814a3a8/CallingPapi.html. The Oracle BPM project I used for this step-by-step document is also in this zip file. If you're curious, this also describes how to download, install and start JDeveloper 11.
This is not formal Oracle documentation, but I know from teaching our Oracle BPM Bootcamp class that getting PAPI to work is sometimes a challenge and thought this might help. I tried to write it with the "Java Newbie" in mind so do not panic if you aren't an expert in Java (I'm sure not ?:| ).
This is a simple example that uses most of the logic found in the PAPI documentation on http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/papi/index.html?t=modules/papi/c_Head_PAPI.html in the "Writing Your First Java PAPI Program" section of this document.
The document provides a step-by-step description on how how to use PAPI to:
<li> interface to processes running on an Oracle BPM Enterprise Engine using the same logic that is in the Oracle BPM PAPI documentation
<li> interface to processes running on an Oracle BPM Studio Engine
<li> list processes currently running on the Engine using the same logic that is in the Oracle BPM PAPI documentation
<li> list the work item instances running on the Engine using the same logic that is in the Oracle BPM PAPI documentation
<li> create a new work item instance in a process and pass in input argument variables to the new instance as it is created.
    Hope you find this useful,
    Dan

    Hi
i have gone through your example. It gives good information how to connect to BPM engine through java papi client. I have followed exactly the same steps given in the PDF document. But it throws the exception on both java client side and BPM Suite.

    1. Import sampleproject.exp into Oracle BPM studio and start the BPM engine.
    2. Imported the fuegopapi-client.jar and Write the JAVA PIPA client to connect Oracle BPM Engine.

Please help me to resolve this. I noticed it is able to connect BPM engine and retrieve process list. But while getting instances, it throws the exceptions on both Java Client and BPM engine side.
    Thanks and Regards

  • You are not a receiver of the work item in ESS Leave

    Hi,
We are using standard ESS leave application in our portal, where employee can raise leave and his manager can approve/reject his leave. But I want in case manager rejects the leave, the rejected leave should not come into MSS UWL of employee, we will send a mail to employee and he can again login to ESS leave application and where he will see the rejected leave and he can re apply/change/delete  the rejected leave. We do not want rejected leave to come in UWL of employee as a work item.
As of now when manager rejects the leave rejected leave of an employee , it is coming in UWL of the employee which we do not want, so what we did, we went to standard leave work flow template WS12300111, in that we double clicked on Task (TS12300116, Process Request by Employee) and in that  we clicked on agent assignment icon and than we clicked on attribute and we selected General forwarding not allowed radio button, by default general task radio button was selected.
After selecting General forwarding not allowed radio button, even when manager rejects employee leave, rejected leave is not coming in UWL of employee which we want exactly, but another error is coming when employee goes to ESS leave application again and change or delete this rejected leave he is getting the error You are not a receiver of the work item .
But if we select general task radio button in agent assignment in work flow , than eveything is working fine but employee is getting rejected leave in his UWL, that we do not want  at all, so why after selecting different radio button this error is coming ?
Why employee is getting this error, why employee can not reapply/change his rejected leave. Is this portal error OR workflow error OR HR configuration error and  what is the solution for this..

If you need this option then you need to change the WF Task.
    General Forwarding Not Allowed
This indicator enables you to determine that work items for this task can only be forwarded to users who are agents for the task.
If this indicator is not set, a work item for this task can be forwarded to all users.
The best way to take care of User
Forwaring authorization is the Task Classification (PFTC -> Additional
Data -> Classification). Classify tasks with General Forwarding Not
allowed, will give you the oppotunity to let the user allow to forward
items JUST to the Possible Agents Assigned to the task
(Additional Data -> Agent Assingment -> Maintain)...
Clear that everything depends on How you have developed your workflows
definitions. In that cases  the best think to do is
create Different Tasks definition (TSxxxxxx) and let they start
depending on Company Code (That can be driven via Conditions steps in
the workjflow definition, for example). This will allow you to define
Just the responsible Agents per each task, depending on the Companny
Code. This definitively Resolve the Forwarding frelated Question.
