Bullet colour In Word 2010/2013

Can I change the colour of the bullet for a paragraph style?  I want the bullet to be a different colour to the text.  e.g. Blue bullet and grey text.

Hi,
Just click the Bullets drop-down list and select Define New Bullet, then click
Font button. In the Font dialog, you can change the bullet color under
Font color.
Thanks,

  • Graphic issues in Word 2010 and 2013

The problem is it reformats your original image to fall within this shape below. Everything within that triangle is white and your original image only shows through the remaining part of the oval. I have attached a Word document with a few examples. It cuts
off part of the logo, signatures, etc.
So far, we have found this occurring in 2 situations:
    1. .docx is generated in third party application. We open this in Word 2003 and save as .doc. Then if that .doc is then opened by someone else using Word 2010 or 2013, it has this issue.
    2. The other situation was just a .doc created (outside of the third party application) that is used as a VBA component. If they open that .doc in Word 2013 it has this issue but other .doc files are fine.
One other note, we can open these files in Word 2003 and 2007 and the images look fine. It only happens when opening in Word 2010 or 2013.
Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions? I have tested both .tif & .jpg to see if the original image format made a difference and it doesn’t appear to. Unfortunately, it’s impacting tens of thousands of Word docs stored in archive.
I don't see where I could upload a file, but I do have example documents.
    Thanks,
    Dawn

    Hi Dawn:
After testing from myside, I found if you
change the picture format, it will fix the display issue. You can
manually changing the format of the Graphic: select the graphic->select format tab on the Ribbon->change to any format you want. You can also
use VBA code to change the format of the picture, for detailed information you can refer to
    This article.
Below are some findings for your reference.
I checked the documents you sent to me, as the issue occurred when if the file saved as .docx or opened with word 2010/2013, so I zipped the file and compared the xml files, I found something
might be the cause of this issue.
The pictures in media folder were all fine no missing parts even for those ones displayed wrongly in Word.
I compared the document.xml file under ….\Graphic issue\Issue.docx\word(where I stored the zip file), I found the documents.xml of issue.docx file has section called <a:custGeom>………
</a:custGeom>, which contains data like below,  maybe it’s inherited from the design tool, somehow, change formatting can get rid of the custGeom. So we suggest you change the format of
    the picture.

  • Images Sent to Back move to front when converting from Word 2010 to Adobe Acrobat XI

Images that have been set "Send to Back" and wrapping is set to "Behind Text" will move to front, overlapping text when file is converted to Adobe Acrobat XI.  I'm on Windows 7.  Anyone having this problem?

How you convert the document to PDF format? Export/Create a PDF, Save as PDF, print as PDF, or using Adobe Acrobat?
Please try to save the document as PDF format and then check the result in Adobe Reader.
If you are using Word 2010/2013, the save as PDF is a build-in function and you can find it from File > Save as
If you are using Word 2007, please firstly download and install the Microsoft Office Add-in - Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS .

  • Can not open Word 2010 docx in Word 2013 from Outlook 2013 mail

    Hello,
I got a mail on outlook with a word 2010 attachment in docx format.
Open this attachment with double click will show only the welcome screen with the text Open in protected mode.
With process monitor I could that word 2013 in an endless loop and tries to create the registry key
    "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Word\Options\Vprsu" in an loop.
The result is always ACCESS DENIED.
When I create this key manually there will be an loop to create the registry key
    "HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\15.0\word\options\Assist".
The result is always ACCESS DENIED.
When I create this key manually. Word show the attachment immediatelly.
Closing Word and open the attachment again will delete this registry key and the cycle starts again.
Is there a hotfix available that will repair this?
I think this is an error in word 2013 protected view.
Disabling the protected view will help, but is not an good solution.
    Is there any other workarround?
    Screenshot from process monitor:

This issue may occur if the default file associations for Word are damaged. You may repair Office 2013 to restore the file associations and check if that helps. Refer to the link below for more information. You may restart
the computer once the repair is done.

  • The bullet list, numbered list and the normal text is not converting when I am converting from RH 9 to MS Word 2010

    Hi all,
    Greetings for the day
I am created a new CSS in Robohelp 9. I have also created a new template in Word 2010. The style sets for different information elements like (Heading, bullets, body text, ) are more or less same between the CSS and the new templates. I am also able to map the .css styles to Word template when I am converting from RH to Word as I am getting the necessary option in the drop-down list.
However, when the output is generated, the bullet, the numbered list and the body text is not converting at all. The body text works sometimes. However, the numbered list and bullet list is coming out as images.
If anybody knows the solution, I can share the .css and Word template.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Labview 2013 report generation toolkit word 2010 insert table problem

    Hi,
I am currently evaluating LV2013 with respect to the report generation toolkit for use with word 2010. My Vi/program won't insert the correct table and gives me an error message. see below:-
Exception occured in Microsoft Word: The requested member of the collection does not exist.Help Path is wdmain11.chm and context 25421 in NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:Word_Insert_Table.vi->NI_Word.lvclass:Append Text Table to Report.vi->Word Table save.vi
I have since run the following word example.vi provided by NI within LV2013 office examples:- Growable table.vi. this gives me the same error!
Exception occured in Microsoft Word: The requested member of the collection does not exist.Help Path is wdmain11.chm and context 25421 in NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:Word_Insert_Table.vi->NI_Word.lvclass:Append Text Table to Report.vi->Growable table.vi
It would seem that regardless of my own Vi there is a fundamental problem in the office example vi.
I have found examples of a similar problem in LV2011/2012 but the work around code doesn't seem to match the LV2013 vi's code for a direct replacement.
Can anyone help/shed some light on this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan.

Because the upgrade of Word from 2007 to 2010 I needed to upgrade an existing application from LabVIEW 2009 to 2013. This didn't work because of the insert table error. I discovered that the problem is the vi called "Word_Insert_Table.vi" located in the ..Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2013\vi.lib\addons\_office\_wordsub.llb. There is a "Cut" command implemented, this command removes the created cell instead of clearing it. Therefore the table will be filled half and then returnes with an error. I have removed this command. I have posted the changed vi (LV 2013).

  • Word 2013 generates .docx files that cannot be read on Word 2010

    Howdy,
I received a MS Word document that was created on Word for Mac 2011.  I opened it, edited it and saved it in .docx format.  I have MS Word 2013 running on a humble PC.
Now the Mac cannot read my file.  Also, PC's running Word 2010 cannot read the file.
However, many different machines running Word 2013 can open the file, Google Docs can open the file, Word in the Cloud can open the file, open office can open the file and even Word 2003 with the compatibility pack can open and edit the file.
Mac's give an error message that essentially says "xml format incorrect".  PCs simply say the file format is wrong.  No other details.  Various compatibility checks inside word say that everything is compatible with prior versions
of Word with the exception of my equations which it says will be converted to .gifs if viewed in word 2003.
Any idea what is going on?  Supposedly, Word 2007, 2010 and 2013 all use the same xml formats, so its a bit of a mystery why 2010 (and 2011 on the Mac) cannot open a standard format .xml file that was created by 2013.
The file contains text, figures and equations.  Nothing else.  No macros, no VBA code.
    Thoughts or advice?

    Hi,
What is the file's original extension? .doc?
If you saved the file in .docx format by changing the extension directly, the issue may occur, please make sure you saved it by "Save as". Or we can rename the file from ".docx" to the original extension, check if the issue
    persists.
If it's not your scenario above, we can also try to "repair" the file in Word 2010:
Open Word 2010, Click File -> Open -> Browse to the file and use "Open and Repair" to open the file.
If the suggestions above don't help, please provide the exact error message that you get in Word 2010 so that I can perform further research.

  • Hebrew typing problem in Word 2010 and 2013 in Windows 7 64bit

    Hello,
When I am trying in Word (2010 and 2013 32bit installation) to edit a line (inserting a new word for instance in the middle of the line) or start a new line in RTL or LTR Hebrew paragraph I must first type the SPACE char and then to type any other letter. When
I try firs to type a regular letter it is not typed.
It happens only if the Word is installed on a Windows 7 professional 64bit version on my HP 8570p laptop. I formatted the laptop and installed the same OS but 32bit, installed the Office 2010 and the Word works perfect in any language. I formatted the Laptop
again, re-installed again the 64bit OS, installed the Office 2010 again and same symptom - cant type Hebrew letters if not starting with SPACE. If I try to edit the same paragraph with English letters it works OK. When I start a new line with English letters
it works OK. It seem that this symptom happens when the type direction is right-to-left (after ALT-right SHIFT stroke).
This symptom is only in Word. In PowerPoint, in Excel or any other Office application it works fine.
When using Word 365 (not installed localy even I have a local Word 2013 installation) the Hebrew typing is working fine.
I didn't change the default setting options of the Word not after installing the 32bit OS nor the 64bit OS.
I prefer to use the 64bit OS and not the 32bit OS so I do not consider moving to 32bit OS.

  • Word 2010 Macros won't run after installing Outlook 2013

Here is something I've never run across before.  I'm hoping someone here knows the answer...
One of my co-workers has Office 2010 Professional installed and has for a year or more been running Word 2010 using a macro that opens a form for additional user input for the document.
For some reason that I cannot understand at all, he loaded Outlook 2013 and Lync.  After doing this, his Word document will open but he cannot get the macro to execute the command button in the document.  The macro does not fire, so to speak.
We have checked the Trust Center and the macro settings are at the lowest level.  Still not working!
I have tried to simulate this by installing Word 2010 on my workstation where I have a full copy of Office 2013 Professional installed.  Interestingly enough, similar results occur.  I get a security warning that even though my Word 2010 instance
has macro security set to low, strips out the macro altogether.
I'm not all that interested in finding my problem but would like to get some advice on why he is having the problems after just adding Outlook 2013 and Lync.  They may be related .
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Robert Stroud

Repair did not seem to have any affect on the problem.
So a bit of clarification - client has 2010 Office Professional including all of the normal packages.  His company updated their machines to Outlook 2013 but did not touch any of the other 2010 packages except Outlook.  They also added Lync.
I can duplicate the problem using a 2013 installation of Office Professional and then adding Word 2010 via another installation of Office 2010.  Word 2010 was the only package from 2010 that I installed.
I have repaired the 2010 installation from the Control Panel.  The Repair Utility does not seem to do anything except force the default .docm to show the Word 2010 icon rather than the 2013 icon.
If I open my .docm file with Word 2010, I get macro warnings even though the Macro Security is set to enable all macros.
If I open my .docm in Word 2013, the file executes properly and the macro runs as it should.
What is it that happens when one or more 2013 packages are installed that breaks the 2010 package macros?

  • Is there a way to programmatically save a Word 2013 document into a Word 2010 in compatibility mode?

    Hi,
I have a Word 2013 document that I want to open in Word 2010.  The problem is this document has a repeating section content control and if I open it in Word 2010, the content control is removed so the data won't be seen.  Is there any way programmatically
to save the document in Word 2010 compatible mode?  So that I can open in both Word 2013 and 2010.  By the way, I'm using C# and OpenXML for this.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Based on my tested, I created a "Rich Text" content control in Word 2013, and it'll works fine in Word 2010.
As far as I know, in Word 2013, content controls provide three key improvements: improved visualization, support for XML Mapping for Rich Text content controls, and a new content control for repeating content.
Please see the article "What's new with content controls in Word 2013" it may be helpful to you.
If you have any further question about coding/programing, please post your question to MSDN forum.

I'm still suffering the same issue. I am also running Word 2010 SP2.
My brother installed on his system which is Windows 7, Office 2010 and it works fine.
I have now gone back to Actobat X and it's working.
The issue doesn't occur in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1.
Adobe have not been helpful at all. I am seriously getting the mind of asking for my money back.

  • Word 2013 Incompatibility with Chart Labels for Word 2010

I'm having an issue with Microsoft Word 2013 charts. I can create a chart with labels such as Category Name, Value, and Percentage. When I send the chart to anyone with 2013, the values come up ok.
However, when someone with Word 2010 opens up the charts, instead of the Category Name, it says [Category Name], [Value], and [Percentage]. The person then has to click Reset Label Values to have the labels come up correctly.
Is there any way to fix this? I tried saving the document as a .doc, but Word 2007 is not able to pull up the labels properly either.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Does this occur to every chart? Or only with some particular charts?
You can share one same with us if possible, you can upload it to OneDrive and provide the link of the file:

To protect your privacy, don't put any private or sensitive information in the file.
I'm not sure but you can try repairing Office from Control Panel -> Programs and Features to check the result.

  • Can not edit data labels in old graph chart objects using Word 2010

In Word 2010, Insert object "Microsoft Graph Chart", go to Chart Options and check an item in Data labels, such as "Series Name", "Category Name" or "Value". Click OK, then double-click on a data label to edit its
settings, or right-click on a data label and select "Format Data Labels..."
This makes Word to crash. The only way I can get out of it is by using the Task Manager to kill Word.
This happens in Windows 7 and Windows 8. This does NOT not happen in Word 2007 nor Word 2013, so it seems specific to Word 2010. All our clients have the same problem, this does not seem related to a specific workstation configuration.
The Microsoft Graph Chart are the old charts used within .doc files. I have an application still generating those types of files and need to edit data label settings manually before processing the files with my application.
Also note that anytime you edit a .doc file in Word 2010 and you see "Compatibility Mode" in the title bar, the Insert / Chart option from the ribbon inserts an old type chart (same as if you use Insert / Object / Microsoft Graph Chart), not the
new Word 2010 charts. You then have the same problem editing the data labels.
The underlying Activex seems to be the Chart.Exe file, the one I have installed is 14.0.7012.1000. You can see the version by double-clicking the chart and then look in the Help / About menu.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As this is a configuration issue and not a programming issue I' moving your question to a more appropriate forum where you're more likely to find assistance.
