Business landline to personal wireless (both Verizon)

I have a question I can't find the answer to here (I searched...). I hope I posted this in the correct forum.
I have an existing Verizon business landline, and an existing personal Verizon cell phone. Different numbers.
I'd like to get rid of the landline completely and have the number ported over to my cell phone. I did check, and the landline is available for porting. The reason I need to keep the landline number is because of existing advertising, graphics, website listings, etc...
My questions are:
Can I do this? Business landline to personal cell phone?
This will be transparent to my customers, correct?
Can I still keep my existing cell phone number? Or must I have a separate cell phone for the ported number? I'd like my existing cell phone to ring if EITHER number is called, know what I mean?
If I can use the same phone for both numbers, I'm assuming I can set a different ringtone for calls being ported from the landline? And if I can use both phones, is there any way for me to have the outgoing calls (from the cell phone) display the landline number and name on the recipient's caller ID?
If I cannot have both numbers ring to my cell phone, would the separate cell phone (for the business) display the company info on the recipient's caller ID?
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!

Correct me if I am wrong but you need a cell phone for each phone number you want.  I have never heard of being able to have two numbers on one cell phone.  You can set different ring tones for different people though.  We dropped our verizon land line in January and our home number we had for 20yrs. was ported to my cell so it's now our main phone.  My cell number is no longer and probablly went back into the pool and given to someone else.  I can't remember all th details of doing this but I put the order in online and I believe it gave me a date of when the port would take place so I think it was like a week from the time I put the order in.  I was able to keep updated and check the status online with my account.
Then on the date it said it would take place a little after midnight  I was sent a text on my cell to let me know the port went through and my home numbrer was working right away on the cell and my cell number was no longer.  I have to say the whole procedure was flawless and easy and I love now that I get all my calls while out and about and when on vacation don't have to call home to check my answering machine.  We don't get a lot of calls but need the cells and texting with son away at college and we were hardly using the home phone so was the best solution for our needs.    Mary

  • Can you help resolve a "Go Wireless" and Verizon Wireless issue?

How do you file a complaint against "Go Wireless" and Verizon wireless?  It was partially my mistake because I didn't realize that Go Wireless charges a premium for their service.  That said, I was informed by the sales person that I could get the $150 bill credit per phone line I ported over, and a $200 visa card for each smart phone I turned in.  That's $350 for each phone in credits..  This seemed like a great deal, so I purchased 3 phones, samsung galaxy 5.  I paid a $50 premium per phone to buy them from the store (note..there are NO PRICES listed, you have to rely on what the sales persons quotes you). I also paid a $20 per phone "set up" fee and a $10 sim card fee.  Again, I take responsibility for not asking if other verizon stores charged these additional fees. HOWEVER, when I was told to go to the corporate verizon store to get the envelopes for to turn in the smart phones for the $200 per phone credit - this was not my lack of research.  I did go to the corporate office and was told that the $200 offer had ended 7 days ago.  I went back to "Go Wireless" and the store manager told me that the employee was misinformed and was working off a quote sheet that was out dated.  Ok, now you'd think they'd offer something to fix their "mis-informed" employees mistake.  No, they said there was nothing they could do.  I could return each phone for an additional stocking fee of $35, and cancel my plan.  So, here I am...paid a premium for the phones, was "misinformed" by a store agent who was working off an outdated specials sheet, and my only recourse is to pay $105 to return the 3 phones.  Something isn't right here.  Verizon won't do anything, Go Wireless won't do anything.  Any suggestions?

My girlfriend had a similar issue because her new device was not updated to IOS7 when she turned it on, but her backup point was created using IOS7.  Check to be sure the restore point was created and then factory reset the phone after you have updated to 7.

  • We want to convert a Business Account to Personal.

    Hi all
we want to convert an account from Business type to Personal type. I have found many mixed thoughts about this in the fora.
Does anyone have a singular definite answer from Skype about it? Can it be done or not?
Let me provide you with our scenario, so the answers can be more specific:
    1) We have a business account that was created before Skype manager.
    2) It was then added to skype manager.
    3) we want to convert it to a Personal account.
    4) Attach a Mobile callerID to it.
    5) And reattach it back to the SKype Manager, once this is done.
Anyone with a proper correct answer for this?

You can do it on your own.  You will have to remove the items that are associated with your account (apps, movies, music, etc).  You can do this by either syncing via itunes, or deleting them directly from the device.  To create an apple id go to https://appleid.apple.com and create a new ID for him. Once he has his own ID sign out of the store and other Apple ID services he wishes to use his own ID for. Go to settings-store, message, facetime, icloud and change accounts as desired.

  • Assignment: Business partner for person '50000029' is not unique

    HI,
In the past, whenever I use to create the employee using Tcode PA40, the corresponding Business Partner (BP) used to get created.
But now when I create the employee, BP does not gets created.
I checked using the program "HR_SYNC_PERSON" and found that whenever I select the employee option and execute it gives the following error(whenever I select the employee option and execute):
Assignment: Business partner for person '50000029' is not unique
    Can you please help!
    Regards
    Manish

Oh, I understand.  Earlier I misunderstood your statement.
So the CP is 50000029.  Regardless, the point is still the same.  SAP tried generating a BP to tie to CP 50000029.  Your system HAS configured a BP number range.  Whatever the next value of your number range is, seems like is already being used.
Go to the BP number range config and look at the next value.  Look in transaction BP and enter that BP and see if you get any hits.  My guess is that you will.  You'll likely need to end up changing your business partner number range.  You won't get unique violations for different OTYPE values.
What's your existing BP number range next value?  What happens when you search for that value in transaction BP?

  • Verizon Corporate Store/ Business Plan to Personal Plan???

I have had a business phone with Verizona for years, actually it was an Alltel account before the merger. I have three lines (2 phones+air card). I would like to upgrade my phones and switch my plan, Best Buy can not do it because it is a business account (no longer in business) so I went to Verizon corporate store, they told me I could convert my 2 phone lines to personal accounts but I would have to get new phones as they say our old Alltel phones won't work on the Verizon system when we change our plan. The phone I want at Best Buy is free with 2 year contract, at Verizon it is $159.99???
I have thought about closing my account with Verizon at the corporate store, drive over to Best Buy and open a new Verizon account but my fear is that I could not get my/our phone numbers back which we have had for many years.
Any one have any ideas on how to solve this?

Cant tell without being able to view your account but I personally never ran into issues upgrading business accounts. Dealer lines had issues but not just business accounts. They can't change the type of account or anything but should be able to get you different phones.

  • Is there a benefit to having both verizon wireless service and residential?

Some companies allow you to watch cable through your devices other than tv if you subscribe to multiple services. I have done a little bit of research but had not found anything on the topic about Verizon yet. Any help would be appreciated, don't be shy to include lots of information as long as it is readable.

    No.
Connecting the Ethernet will disable the wireless by design.
Each of these connection methods look like two different devices to the network (with different MAC addresses and potentially different IP addresses).  Since there is just one printer, having what looks like two different devices on the network at once would lead to mass confusion for devices trying to access the printer.

  • Can I use BOTH Verizon DSL Wireless AND DISHnet Wireless at the same time?

Waiting for Dishnet contract to die and rot away but about 2 months to go.  Want to get with Verison Standard DSL Wireless as no data cap tho slower.
I can just wait till Dishnet dies and keep bumping into data caps with the Dish service OR can I get the DSL setup and use one connex for the iMac and one for the iPad without any conflicts?
I am so ignorant of technology that I see a Swing-a-Way hand crank can opener as a marvel of industrial magic,....so please talk simple words to me, :-)
    Thanks

Sign up for the fastest DSL package that you can. Even if the overall speed is slower, the fact that you won't be going over a satellite connection anymore should make the Internet *that* much faster. The Wireless Gateway should come included.
You can use both services at once, although note that determining how you plan to use both at the same time is going to be another story. Some people use Dual WAN routers (as in, routers that accept two Internet connections and can balance between the two). Others will use the connections separately, by moving devices between the two connections as needed.

  • IPad Personal Hotspot antenna shuts off after a few minutes of non-use. This happens in both Verizon 3G and LTE areas. Turning off LTE does not help. Turning Personal Hotspot off and then on works. Does this happen on Mini and Retina?

iPad--third generation shuts off antenna/hotspot after a few minutes of non-use.
Happens in 3G and LTE VZ environment.
Turning hotspot off and on getsw things working again.
Does Apple have antenna on a timer so it shuts off after a few minutes?
Does this happen on Mini and Retina as well?

    Fixed!
Two things together have restored connectivity.
    1.  I changed the name under Settings > General > About > Name from My Name's iPad to iPad of My Name.  I read somewhere that iOS 7.0.1 or 7.0.2 (I forget which) sometimes had issues with apostrophes here.  Easy enough to test.
    2.  I then reset (again) the APN settings under Settings > Cellular Data > APN Settings > Personal Hotspot and reentered our provider's info (APN, Username, Password) there.
I don't know WHY it worked, but the personal hotspot is now happily sharing (again) internet connectivity with my MacBook Pro.

  • Diamond Wireless and Verizon Partnership Extorting Customers

    Hey Community.
I recently upgraded two phones on my Verizon Wireless account through Diamond Wireless.  After some issues with Verizon Wireless Customer Service, I decided to cancel my contracts with Verizon Wireless.  Well, now Verizon Wireless and Diamond Wireless are both charging Early Termination Fees.  I get that there has to be some sort of fee attached for not keeping the contract and for years we have all been told that this ETF is to cover the difference between full retail of the equipment and what was paid at contract start.  Well the breakdown for me is like this...
$400 for two new HTC One's (regular retail is $600 each)
$600 ETF for two cancelled phone lines through Verizon Wireless
$400 ETF for two cancelled phone lines through Diamond Wireless
Diamond Wireless is also requesting the equipment back, which would be an additional loss to me of $400 for the two.
    $1800 total in ridiculous fees.
I have contacted Verizon Wireless who claim that they cant do anything about another company's contract.  I have contacted Diamond Wireless who just changes their story every time regarding the breakdown of the fees.  This whole process is nothing but extortion.  How is it even possible to pay more for two phones than full retail value with the understanding that you have to turn the phones back in, which is no where on either contract.
At this point I am involving the State's Attorney General, Verizon Wireless and the owner of Diamond Wireless.  What kills me even more is that Diamond Wireless claims that they are Verizon Wireless' Number 1 Authorized Retailer, but none of this bad reputation is even worrying Verizon Wireless at all.
All I want is to move on and at this point in the game I will be removing all services from Verizon Wireless along with my extended family.  Verizon Wireless is demonstrating through its actions that it doesn't care about its customers as much as it wants us all to believe.  So sad.

I live in Arizona, went to a Diamond Wireless upgraded 4 phones, thought I was getting a good deal, then she swiped my card and said it didn't work. I gave her another and it did work. I get home and 2 days later both cards are charged. I call back to the store and only my sales clerk can fix it and she is not in. Call next day she is there and tells me to wait a day it will probably come off if not call back. It didn't and i did call back and she was off for two days and no one else at that store can help or no what to do. 2 days later I call back and she said she would contact Verizon's customer service and would call me back. 2 days went by with no return phone call. I had to call my bank and dispute the charges, they reversed them for me, but said if the company complained they would reinstate the charges. Then after all of that the sales clerk said my account would not change at all other than going down a little bit because of the insurance coming of the regular bill. End of month my account is an charged extra $90 for new device being used, even though 1 line was charged $30 twice and 1 line wasn't charged, and the last line was charged $30. When I called Verizon they said that is a service charge no matter where I go, and when I said I was not informed, he told me I would have to contact that store but there is nothing that can be done because it is a set service charge, then I asked why one line was charged twice and one line wasn't charged, he said he had no idea but regardless it didn't matter because I owed $30 for each phone so it still adds up correctly. When I said I would just cancel he said okay. I have been with Verizon for at least 15 years and this is how they treat loyal customers, wow. I hung up called my mom and appologized for the $30 charge that would be on her next bill as she was the 4th phone I updated that day, and being on a fixed income, I offered to pay it since she had no idea there would be any hidden charges. I have paid my bill because I am a person who always pays my bills because I worry about owing or being late, but I do not feel it was fair at all. I wish you luck with your Attorney General and if it happens to be Arizona, here is another one for your case.

  • Where do you go for help when the customer service rep keeps hanging up on you saying your phone is breaking up and I am on a landline where I bought my verizon plan

I sign up with Verizon on 08/04/2014 new plan new phones switched carries. It has been A nightmare. First I purchased one plan with two phones. They set up two accounts charging me for both on two different account numbers.  On August 11th I was told it was fixed by a local Verizon REP. Said it was a computer glitch. Now . Today I received two more bills , still two account and they even contain extra charges as if I was moving my telephones back and forth. Excessive over billing and still two account. When into store where I purchased because they knew I had this problem. They has me call customer service from the store telephone. After 1 hour on the phone with a rude person, the rep.  at the store and me both talked to her. She started saying your phone is breaking up hello are your still there. I was on a land line  then she put me on hold until I finally hung up. about 20 minutes. because I was already late going back to work. I have spent hours trying to get this fixed and now I have had the service for 30 days so I can not cancel. Does anyone know where to go for some help.

File a complaint they will call you.
Or take them to court for the over billing and your loss time from work to file and go to small claims court. Include the filing fee.
Either way bring all your paperwork to have the judge look at.
    Good Luck

  • Trouble connecting wirelessly via Verizon FiOS router

    I am using a Titanium G4 Powerbook, OS 10.4.11.
I have an Airport Extreme connected to a Verizon FiOS router. These are set to broadcast on different channels.
Our iMac is connected to the FiOS via Ethernet: no problem getting online.
Other Mac notebooks can connect wirelessly using either the Airport or the FiOS.
This notebook can connect via Airport; however when logged into the FiOS wirelessly, and getting a strong signal, I cannot connect. Diagnostics tells me "ISP failed"; Airport tells me I have a self-assigned IP address.
It seems I have some setting wrong somewhere?

    Why 2 routers?
-- only the AE can broadcast Airtunes
-- but the AE only has one hard-wired ethernet port (I need one for my imac and one for my ethernet printer)
-- and the FiOS router's wireless signal is stronger, I can get it in more parts of the house.
Thus the imac can be on via FiOS while the laptops are on via either FiOS or AE.
As long as both routers aren't distributing IP addresses on the same schema, should it matter?
I'll admit it would be easier to use only the FiOS router, but then no Airtunes. And I can't log onto the FiOS wirelessly, as I explained in my original post.

    2. discontinue logging my phone calls under the "messages" icon.
Open your Call Log by pressing the green dial button > Options > Call Logging and disclude any logging.

Not possible. RIM's BlackBerry email is push, and not pull. You can't set a schedule or do it manually.

  • HP ePrint Home & Biz failing to find Business Inkjet 1200 on wireless network

I am trying to set up printing from my phone over my local network to an HP printer.
I have downloaded the HP ePrint Home & Biz app onto a Samsung SII runningAndroid  v4.0.4 the app cannot find the HP Business Inkjet 1200 (C8156A) on the wireless network.
    1) The printer is functional and other devices can print to it
    2) The phone is able to conect wirelessly to the printer via a browser connection
    3) The printer is on a fixed IP number
    4) The BI 1200 is listed on the supported models page for ePrint Home & Biz app
    5) I have registered the app with ePrint but should be able to connect via the local wireless network
I tried to use the Connect Manually option but it is tring to get me to supply an ePrint e-mail address. Do I really have to register the printer on ePrint to get this app to work?
As someone else said why not have an app that just formats the print job and sends it to the local printer?
    Zeb
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

The app can actually do what you want and print over the local network.
It sounds like what you are doing is going to settings, and then manage eprinters, and trying to add the device there. This section is only for eprint capable devices, and allows you to print to them even when you are not at the same location.
Go back to the home screen of the app.
Select a photo or document from within the app.
Simply push on the area near the bottom of the screen that may show a printer, or if its never printed it may just have a down arrow.
From here you should be able to click on printer and choose your printer.
The above method will simply search the local network for supported devices, and does not require any registration of the app.
