Business Objects Password reset via Oracle SQL

Post Author: Neville
CA Forum: Administration
Hello ,
Is it possible to reset a Business Objects user Password using Oracle SQLPlus?
The password data is stored under obj_m_actor in the repository!
Regards,

What do you mean by "application"?We do have a number of home grown applications that require username, and password.
Some of these application use the standard ldap username/password. So resetting the password here may also reset other application passwords as well. Yet some of our application have their own unique way of resetting the password for the application. I am hoping to copy the way that a sys admin usually does this and replicate it using java. Some are command line, other are through the use of a tool used by the application. So far I have been able to replicate most of them using java. I am still working on 1 other. 5 out of 6 not bad. Anyway, we would like to go to one place to reset the password for a user, and then email that temp password to them. Of course we will have some sort of authentication to change the password, such as unique questions they must answer, etc...

  • OWA Password reset via UPN

I need to know if Exchange 2013 SP1 (15.0.847.32) supports password resets via the users UPN when a user's password has expired when they log in to OWA.  This was a feature that was added to Exchange 2010 SP1 in rollup 3 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2464564).
I'm able to login to OWA with their UPN but upon being presented with the password reset screen the user has to use DOMAIN\Username rather than their UPN (email address).
Without this feature I can't see how hosting providers can simplify the users experience when they are resetting their passwords.  I would prefer not for the user to have to remember their AD logon name, I just want my users to have to remember their
    email address.

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, Exchange 2013 doesn't support using a UPN in the change password dialog so far. I recommend you use the format domain\username after allowing users to change their expired passwords. Thanks for your understanding.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Automate oracle password reset via procedure

I want to create a web application that I can call a stored procedure, pass in the username, and application that the user is trying to have their password reset on. Reset their password to a temporary password, and email the temp password to their email account. Once they get the temp password, they can login into the system, and change their password.
The java part probably not a problem. Does anyone know how to create a procedure to act as sysadmin, and reset passwords temporarily?
I know it can be done. The only problem is that I am on 8i, and 9 for the databases. I have about 5 - 6 different applications that they can change their password on.
    thanks ahead of time.

  • IPS password reset via ASDM

The username/password has been lost to our IPS module.
I used the ASDM menu option to reset the IPS password but nothing happened other than the IPS module resetting.
Is there something more I need to do to reset the password on the IPS module other than selecting "reset IPS" in ASDM?

  • Password reset via email

I am able to reset my Apple Id via the email link.  The prolem is I cannot sign on using the new password.  I cannot reset the password by answering security questions becuase we never answered the questions asked!  I tried calling support and they told me my Apple Id does not exist.  How can I reset a password on an account that does not exist
I'm not an "Apple"  person...........my kids are........I'm just trying to get them access to all their money they have on iTunes.
Very unhappy with the phone support I've received so reaching out to the communities.

Check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox.  If it isn't there, contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password.  The call should be free.  You will need your serial number, which you will find in Settings>General>About.

  • SAP Business Objects Password Expiry

Can anyone please assist with this issue: We currently have a SAP BOBJ 4.1 environment which is internet facing which authenticates via our BW 7.3 which is in the LAN. The issue arises when the password expires for the users outside of the organisation (LAN) since they cannot log on to BW and change their passwords. Is there a way in which these users can reset their passwords without logging on to BW directly?

    Hi Sibusiso
Have you tried checking if there is a SICF service available to activate. Also, if NWBC HTML can somehow be used to grant users access to logons? This way you don't need SAP GUI deployed
It may open up other challenges on making this access externally available.

  • Able to connect via Oracle SQL Developer, but not sql plus

    Using Oracle 10.2.0.
I can connect using the TNS connection type in SQL Developer, but cannot do so in SQL PLUS. SQL Plus gives me the error -- could not resolve the connect identifier.
    When I do tnsping USPO_ADHOC, I get:
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
Used TNSNAMES adapter to resolve the alias
    Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION =
    TNS-12533: TNS:illegal ADDRESS parameters
So here is my tnsnames.ora file:
    INTL_ADHOC =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 10.239.162.108)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = intl1)
    USSYN_ADHOC =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 10.239.162.109)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = USSYN)
    USPO_ADHOC =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 10.239.162.107)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = uspo)
    Any assistance gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

I actually did not have that environmental variable, so I added it, but nothing changed.
I would note that if I do tnsping foo, I get: failed to resolve name.
If I do tnsping USPO_ADHOC, I get: illegal address parameter.
In both cases, the output correctly identified the path to my sqlnet.ora file, which is in the same directory as my tnsnames.
So I would conclude from that, that the system was already able to find my tnsnames file.
    Anyway, here's my sqlnet.ora:
    SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
    NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT)
    Thanks again for any ideas!

  • Business Objects XI 3.1 using SQL Server 2005 SP3

    Hi,
I've searched and googled and can't find a definitive answer to this question: I'm looking to move to BOXI 3.1 and am checking compatibility with our systems. The 3.1 Supported Platforms doc lists SQL Server 2005 RTM/SP1/SP2 as compatible, but I cannot find out whether SP3 is! I assume not, but the Supported Platforms doc is dated before the release of SP3- does anyone know whether SP3 will work and/or the document will be updated?
    Thanks for your help!
    Tom

Most likely it will work just fine. As supported platforms documents were released prior to SP3 release, they cannot be changed.
With new SP Supported platforms will have MS SQL2005 SP3 record in them.
What this means - product weas not tested with SQL2005 SP3, so we cannot guarantee that there are no issues.

  • Business Objects Xi3.1 access to SQL 2005

    Hi,
could you please state your problem in more detail. Do you talk about SQL Server as Repository DB or as DB for your reporting ?

  • Business Objects and Oracle 10

    Post Author: DQUINTON
    CA Forum: Deployment
Currently using a deployment of Business Objects 5.1.6 with an Oracle 8 data source. We are considering using a data source that is Oracle 10 , does anyone know if our version of business objects is compatible with Oracle 10 , or would our problems only lie in the middleware and drivers that may need updating ? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Kiran,
Jokes aside, Theres a few documents on how Oracle partner with Business Objects but there is no "Oracle Business Objects" BI product, at least up until end of last year before I left Oracle Consulting BI practice.
Yes SAP Business Objects connects and supports Oracle 10G database functionality, but that would be Oracle DB, not Oracle BI EE.
I seriously doubt they would launch ANOTHER BI tool with the same application name as a competitor?
I hope you can get the information you are seeking.

  • Using oracle.sql.STRUCT to pass in a COMPLEX OBJECT

I need to pass in a complex object (object with nested array of objects) into a oracle stored procedure.
We are using JDBC 9.2.0.1 drivers...
Note i am able to retrieve a complex object successfully using an oracle struct however i am not able to pass in the struct.
I do not want to use JPublisher as we are not using SQLJ.
I have looked through the documentation on using default structs and am getting an error when i try and create the struct...
I have created an array of objects with a sub array
and i create a struct descriptor however when i create the actual oracle struct
    like
    oracle.sql.Struct = new oracle.sql.Struct( structDesc,conn,complexobject)
I get a "java.sql.SQLException: Internal Error: Unable to resolve name"
Do i have to create STRUCTS for the nested object first ?
And then nest that STRUCT within the PARENT STRUCT to pass in complex objects ???
Any help would be much appreciated...

  • Oracle.sql.STRUCT and returns from procedures

I need to know how to retrieve information out of a stored procedure. I have a stored procedure that has a IN/OUT parameter that is used to return an array of an oracle TYPE that is set up in the database (it consists of two numbers and a varchar2. So I am returning an array of these types). I need to call this stored procedure from JDBC and retrieve the data out of it. I can setup the outParameter of the statement and also get the Object out of the statement once the procedure is called. But what is returned to me? An array of oracle.sql.STRUCT objects? A single oracle.sql.STRUCT object? A multi-dimensional array of java objects? Or something else?
    Thanks
    null

as far as I know, the STRUCT is the returned geometry. so you can declare a SDO_GEOMETRY variable and assing the STRUCT directly to this variable.
For example you have a variable 'geo_variable' and assign it the result of a function like this:
    geo_variable := SDO_GEOM.SDO_DIFFERENCE(geom1, geom2, tol );
what you see written like this "oracle.sql.STRUCT@6c08b2.." I believe is the stuct @ the memory address 6c08b2..
