Buyer Work Center performance and persoanlizations

Hi All,
we are currently on R12.1.3 and we've few issues with the way the Buyer Work Center is working
1) The performance of BWC is very slow. Navigating from one field to another field takes at least 5seconds. For fields like project, task, org etc the form takes 10seconds also. Combining all this, creating a PO with 10 lines takes about 10-15mins for our users. Is this normal? Are there ways to improve the performance?
2) There are multiple screens to navgiate. First the users start off with header then to line summary and then to line details/schedules/distributions etc. Is there a simple way to make all information available in one single page so that the users do not have to spend time navigating from one screen to another screen? This will be really helpful for users creating POs with more than 10lines. I'm thinking of persoanlizing the PO line summary screen and make POET available there. Has anyone done any customizations to the PO line summary screen?
I'm sure you must have faced similar issues with your clients. Please let me know if you handled these issues.

Has anyone done any customizations to the PO line summary screen? Same question was asked by my client, I recommended them to go directly to the "Distributions" tab and search for the PO. Actually most of the key fields from the header, lines, shipments and distributions are available at the distribution tab and you can add many more fields by clicking on the "Add Another" field. Moreover, you can save the final view for future reference so that you don't need to add the same fields again.
Yes, it is a workaround, as you will see repeated lines for multi shipment and distribution scenarios but single shipment - distribution scenario will be OK.

    Hi,
    You need to do it by profile option setup.
    Setup the profile option "PO: Default Requisition Grouping" to "Requisition" at the site level.
    You have two options - "Default" and "Requisition".

  • Purchasing - Agreement on Buyer Work Center

    Hi all,
    I want to use the Create Agreements function in the Buyer Work Center in Purchasing module. I noticed that I can create the agreement line using three different methods such Catalog, Favorites and Upload. However, I need to use iProcurement responsibility in order to define those methods to be available. Do I need to purchase a separate product license for this? We don't have any plan to implement the iProcurement for the individual users in our procurement process. I need the iProcurement in order to make the Buyer Work Center to work only.
    Any idea?

    You can create agreements in BWC even without the iProcurement module.
    Also note that, you will be able to create only the Global agreements in
    BWC; therefore the child document will be standard purchase order and not
    the releases.

  • How to print a RFQ from buyer work center

    Hi everyone,
    We are unable to find out why there is no action to print a RFQ (or RFI) from the buyer work center. There is no option for it Under the action LOV. How could it be done without returning to Forms screen and even there what is the concurrent programs to print it if it exist ?

  • Buyer Work Center

    We have below Business Requirement  on Buyer Work Center  ( R12.1.3)
    1.  View Price/Amounts in particular format e.g ( 1000,000.00)  on Orders Tab in  Buyer Work Center.
    2.  Allow only two decimal values to be displayed in the Price Column even though they may copy and paste a value that has more than two decimal values from a excel while Creating Complex PO in Buyer Work Center
    Please suggest as how we can proceed to meet the above requirement.

    Dear Udit,
    For the first requirement please refer to the Profile Option  ICX: Numeric characters and make sure XDO: Numeric Characheters is pointing to this profile option.
    For Comma Separator of 1000's, you may need to enable Currency:Thousands Separator to 'yes'
    Bounce oc4j (iAS/Apache) and clear cache, and then retest to confirm
    For the Second requirement, you will have to personalize the OA page, please refer to guidelines as per note:

    Similar to the personalization done in the form, get an OA developer to do it for the BWC Pages.

    I am getting this error in BWC(Buyer Work Center) for PO's which can be updated by using Requistion Tab choosing update in document builder for existing PO's.
    next sequel number is not populated in update document builder page for PO's. did any one faced this kind of problem. This is not happening with all of the user systems, only with few that's wierd.
    Navigation:
    Purchasing Super User >> Buyer Work Center >> Requisition
    Here selecting requisition number to be added/updated to existing PO's. once we do "Add To Order" update for PO in document builder.
    Immediately throwing an error below, actually it should take next line to existing PO, its not happening.
    *"You cannot combine this line with another line because the Item Numbers are different."*
    What would be cause for this, I tried in Metalink oracle support to find something on this, But No luck.
    Please advice, what steps to be taken to resolve this.

  • How to see Planned Purchase Order in Buyer Work Center

    Hello,
    I need to see Planned Purchase Order
    (created in Purchasing Super User(responsibility) => Purchase Order -> Purchase Order , Type (Planned Purchase Order))
    in Buyer Work Centre.
    I can see Standard Purchase Order in Buyer Work Center (under Orders Tab).
    I can see Contract Purchase Agreement in Buyer Work Center (under Agreement Tab).
    I can see Blanket Purchase Agreement in Buyer Work Center (under Agreement Tab).
    But can not see Planned purchase Order in "Buyer Work Center".
    Is this intentional ? If yes, then why.
    if no, then where we can see Planned Purchase Order in HTML pages.

    there is no standard report which shows the expenditure/conditional value in po. you have to develop your customs report./

  • Work center design and operation confirmation

    Hi All,
    In my scenario im grouping the similar m/c to a work center
    say for ex. 4 lathes m/c into a single work center as LatheALL and also the indiv cap as 4
    my customer wants the traceability in which m/c the job is done
    So i had designed in such a way that
    1 LatheALL -4 cap(this will be additional wc)
    2. lathe1 - 1cap
    3.lathe2 - 1cap
    4.lathe3-1cap
    5.lathe4-1cap
    in the routing only latheALL will be given., this will help customer in planning
    when going for operation confirmation i will give confirmation for that operation and will confirm as lathe1or lathe2  or etc.. this will help prodn dept for traceability in which m/c the work is done
    this is method i have informed to client .,
    pls advice is this approach is correct ?
    also suggest by giving confirmation for another work center will the capacity for the original work center will be reduced

    yes, during confirmation time to enter the orginal actual work center, this suitable for your client requirement, do the settings for OPK0 - change the confirmations parameters (0410 or 0420)

  • Work Center Hierarchy and Capacity

    Hello SAP friends,
    Can someone please help me with the following scenario?
    I have 3 Work Centers
    MAQ00 - (Capacity 10:00 x 2)
    MAQ01 - 8:00 -- 18:00 (Capacity 10:00)
    MAQ02 - 8:00 -- 18:00 (Capacity 10:00)
    I have a hierarchy
    HICY01
    MAQ00 - Root of hierarchy
    |_ MAQ01
    |_ MAQ02
    Then, I have a routing
    10 - PP01 - MAQ00 - 1H
    20 - PP01 - MAQ00 - 2H
    If I go to CM01 for Work Center MAQ00 I can see the capacity and requirement, where:
    Capacity: 10:00 x 2
    Requirement: 3:00
    But if I go to transaction CM21 for Work Center MAQ00 the capacity and requirement is not correct. Can someone please help me with this?

    Hi,
       CM01 will give the cumulative requirement as 3 hrs but CM21(Gradhical View) shows the individual spread of oprn. 10 and 20 as 1H and 2 H resp.

  • PP work center capacity and link in Equipment master

    Dear All
    My client has five equipments which he is clubing them into one work center with five capacities. In equipment master i have given for respective equipments i have given PP work center locations but when i create a maint order for one equip then in planning the capacity avalability is affecting the entire work center for ex if the total work on one equip is 12 hrs then only 8 hrs of capcity should be deducted for to day and 4 hrs for tommorow but in plannig all 12 hrs are getting deducted in todays capacity itself.
    Pls give some inputs from your experiances

    Hi,
    Even if we have more than One Equipments in the same work center, PP-PM integration will work.
    This is the standard scenario in any Process Industry or in case of an Assembly line of a Automobile manufacturing industry.
    So it should work. Please check the following points again,
    1. Assignment of Work Center to Equipment Master
    2. System Condition - '0' Not in Operation in Both header as well as against Individual Operations (in Work Order for that Equipment)
    3. Work Order has been released.
    4. Same Work Center is used in Routing and the same is Planned for a period.
    If we have all the above points right, then while dispatching the Production Order system should show the Period of block and should shift/plan the PO accordingly.

    I believe the user-exit which you should look at is:
    CONFPP03 PP order conf.: Cust. specific check after op. selection
    or
    CONFPP05 PP order conf.: Customer specific enhancements when saving
    Check with your abaper if the above can meet your need.

    Hi PP Gurus,
    There is a requirement to develop a production line (work center) performance report in BI which is comprising of Planned setup time, Actual setup time and their variance against a production plant and work center. Input parameters will be Material, Plant, Work center, Date/Week/Month. The scenario is PP Discrete Manufacturing.
    Could anyone please tell me how to fetch data from different tables and how to interlink them?

    Dear experts,
    We have assigned operators in work center through HRMS. For the purpose of making a report we require the table into which the linking of work center data and the employee is made.
    In the table CRHD a field HROID is found.  This is an object id which links the work center with a table either in HR or in PP which provides the link between organisational unit/ employee. Can anybody tell us the name of the table with details?

    Our requirement is as follows:
    We need to create a report on details of operations done by each operators / workers for a specified period. For this purpose following assignments are done.
    (HR module is not implemented yet.  But we have made attempt to maintain the employee master by customising HR module little bit)
    1.  Employee master created in HR. 
    2.  Went to work center maintainence (CR02).
    3. Selected HRMS button.
    4. Selected Work Center option.
    5. Clicked on HR work center
    6. Given same work center as production work center.
    7. Selected 'person' from ALV list data
    8. Clicked on create relationship button.
    9. Assigned the appropreate persons.
    By doing assume this we made assignment of persons to this work center since the name of persons are getting displayed.
    We have a report to list out the workcenter wise operation confirmations for analying the daily production.
    Now we want to incorporate the operators (persons) name into our report by whom the operation/production was performed.
    For this purpose, while refering the table CRHD, found a field HROID (an object id).  To fetch the details of persons / operators those we assigned to the work center we need the tables for linking this field HROID.
    Our questions are
    1.  Whether the process of assigning   operators above mentioned are correct?
    2. What are the table-links for completing our report. i.e. only for work center to concerned operators (HR).
    3. What does the HR Work Center mean?
    4. What are the difference between HR work center and production work center?

    Hi,
    In OPFA, check the influencing  factor  there may be based on workcenter category they made efficiency rate as mandatory.
    Go to OPFA,click on basic data-then click on influencing,there you will get the contents field.take work cenetr category and check for efficiency rate whether it is mandatory or not.
    like this check for other influencing factors also
