C2504 with LAG and VLAN tagging

Having issues with setting up LAG on a Cisco 2504 WLC and implementing VLAN tagging on the different SSID´s.
Without LAG I had this up and running by using dynamic interfaces and assigning the different SSID´s to a perticular interface which was then assigned a specific VLAN.
However once I enabled LAG on the 2504, the dynamic interfaces became disabled and im unable to find documentation on how to configure VLAN tagging on SSID´s when using LAG.
Relevant info:
Cisco 2504 WLC running 7.4.100.0 (FUS 1.8.0)
Cisco 2602 APs
Cisco 3560 switch running IOS 15 (c3560-ipbasek9-mz.150-2.SE3)
Switch output:
C3560-PoE8#show etherchannel 1 summary
Flags:  D - down        P - bundled in port-channel
        I - stand-alone s - suspended
        H - Hot-standby (LACP only)
        R - Layer3      S - Layer2
        U - in use      f - failed to allocate aggregator
        M - not in use, minimum links not met
        u - unsuitable for bundling
        w - waiting to be aggregated
        d - default port
Number of channel-groups in use: 1
Number of aggregators:           1
Group  Port-channel  Protocol    Ports
------+-------------+-----------+-----------------------------------------------
1      Po1(SU)          -        Fa0/1(P)    Fa0/2(P)    Fa0/3(P)
                                 Fa0/4(P)
WLC output:
(Cisco Controller) >show lag summary
LAG Enabled
So basically what im trying to achieve is to implement LAG, use 2 SSID´s which are tagged in VLAN 300 and 400 respectively and keep management traffic untagged.

Hi Scott,
Yes I did.. But it seems that after deselecting the "Interface/Interface Group(G)" under the SSID´s and then selecting the dynamic interface again that the problem is resolved.

  • Need some help with cfoutput and a tag

    hey there,
    got meself into some issues with <a> and <cfoutput> tags.
    Problem:
    myResult = <a href="http://www.mysite.co.uk" rel="nofollow">mysite</a>
    <cfoutput>#myResult#</cfoutput> outputs "<a href="http://www.mysite.co.uk" rel="nofollow">mysite</a>" (surprise isn't it?)
    now is there any way to output it as html so it would display a link to "mysite"???
    cheers,
    Simon

    thanks!
    I've missed the fact that it was xml data. Just added .xmlText at the end and that sorted my problems. However I'll write down cfsavecontent solution for the future reference.
    cheers,

  • Using Link Aggregation and VLAN tagging with LDOMs

    Hi,
    Anyone know if Link aggregation combined with VLAN tagging works for LDOMs?
    Any links or references would be appreciated.....
    It would be very handy if each LDOM could have multiple interfaces on different VLANs....
    Regards,
    Daniel

    I agree with bzptlx. While you can have vswitch plumbed without net-dev, and then route traffic inside the control domain, so that you can utilize aggregation, it adds complexity, and in some environments it's just impossible.
    I would say that this is number 1 deficiency with LDOM's in general.

  • Span & wireshark to see p-bits and vlan tags

    Problem:
    I do not see 802.1Q tags nor do I see p-bits (COS) in my wireshark captures. My setup is not working and I have no way to verify (sniff) that the 6509 is setting the p-bits to 3. I need to see them to troubleshoot effectively. Help!
    Setup:
    I am port mirroring off of my 6509. Port 1/16 should be tagging and setting the p-bits to a value of 3. How can I confirm?

    Source Ports           :
        Both               : Gi1/16
    Destination Ports      : Gi8/47
    Port G1/16 is the GE uplink to DonkX
    Port G8/47 is the Windows 2003 Server with wireshark.
    Port G8/9 is my RH4 Linux box with TCPdump.
    Steps taken to resolve the problem:
    I have followed this document to set this up correctly on my windows box with a Intel Proset 1000MT. I have updated the drivers and made the registry changes with no captures showing tagging/cos information.
    http://www.intel.com/support/network/sb/CS-005897.htm
    Regardless of my settings, this document says I shouldn't have to worry about drivers:
    http://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup/VLAN
    "You'll definitely see the VLAN tags, regardless of what OS the independent system is running or what type of network adapter you're using."
    Details:
    I am testing a new GPON access product (DonkX) that uplinks via GigE using trunking and setting p-bits. To prioritize my video the new DonkX sets the p-bits to 3 and it instantly ceases that traffic. I have only unidirectional traffic at this point so I can no longer arp, icmp, ftp, tftp, noth'n. The 6509 sends back a response to DonkX but I believe it is dropped because the p-bit is not set to 3. If I remove the priority from 3 to 0 on the DonkX system then it works correctly but without QoS of course.

    Alright, the saga continues. I saw tagged frames last week but began troubleshooting again this morning and can't see tagged frames!
    If I remove the span then I can see tagged traffic on g8/47 (Windows 2003 Server 802.1q not configured on NIC). If I turn on monitoring I see no tagged traffic. I also tried this on a laptop running Fedora 12 (on g8/47) and had the same results. Any ideas?
    I've mirrored another trunk port that is in production passing tagged traffic to an 3560 trunked and going to an ASA. The port to the 3560 and ASA (g3/7) requires tagging and works properly; however, I cannot see tags on this port either. Do you see anything obvious here or is this looking like a tac case?

  • Dfme and vlan tagging

    Hi all,
    is it possible that dmfe driver can handle tagged vlans?
    I use SunOs5.9 with patch 116561-12, which should give the ability for vlan tagging, but I cant ping the other boxes.
    Ive configured 2 Ip-addrs on a nic (dmfe1,dmfe1:1) netmasks and routing seems to be ok.
    Any help is appreciated

    Congratulations. You have successfully confused me.
    Do you know the difference between VLAN and Virtual interfaces?
    A virtual interfaces are of the form <interface><instance>:<virtual instance> and lives on top of the normal interface and, in a way, just adds another IP to it.
    Example of virtual interfaces:
    dmfe1:2
    Where dmfe is the interface, 1 is its instance and 2 is the virtual instance.
    VLAN taging is somewhat more complex, and gives you seperate traffic on each VLAN. A VLAN interface is constructed as:
    <interface>.<three digit VLAN><three digit Instance>
    To create a VLAN tag for VLAN 888 on dmfe1, the VLAN number would be 888 and the instance 001, which would give you an interface of
    dmfe.888001
    To create a VLAN tag for VLAN 44 on dmfe0:
    dmfe.044000
    7/M.

    Everything works, on port 1 the servers work with their static ip, on port 4 the office computers receive the correct ip from DHCP, 192.168.10.x and even on port 3 the dhcp works for my management ip. But randomly some computers start losing connectivity, some regain it but some won’t connect even if I use a static ip corresponding to their vlan. When I say they won’t connect I mean I can’t ping their gateway or the management ip of the router (all vlans have inter vlan routing enabled so no matter on what vlan I am, I can access the web interface for the router). It;s not from security settings on the computers or firewall.
    I discovered they will connect if I use the static ip corresponding to vlan1 82.xx.xx.xx, but not the ip corresponding to their port number. DHCP stops working for a while, it will recover randomly.
    What am I doing wrong? I don’t have other switches I could use for DHCP, I thought I could use some managed switches to solve the DHCP problem.
    Thanks,
    Razvan

    I tried with only two vlans and set the DHCP active only for the office "vlan2". Computers receive the correct ip but some of them won't register on the network, i tried to set the ip manualy on the computers but that computer will still be isolated.
    Ex: computer A receives ip 192.168.10.25, Subnet 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.10.1, for 2-3 minutes i can access the router on 192.168.10.1 and the internet, after a random time interval the gateway won't even respond to ping.It's not from firewall related issues as i set to accept all both incoming and outgoing. If i set a manual ip corresponding to vlan1 "default" everything works.It's like that computer is isolated so i believe it has to do with the asignment of Tagged, untagged and Excluded settings on the vlans.

  • Analytic Question with lag and lead

    Hello,
    I'm working on tracking a package and the number of times it was recorded in an office. I want to see the start and end dates along with number of occurrences (or records) during the start/end dates. I'm pretty confident I can get the start end date correct but it is the number of occurences that is the issue.
    Essentially, I want to build a time line start and end_dates and the number of times the package was recorded in the office.
    I am fumbling around with using the lag and lead analytic to build start/end dates along with the count of occurrences during that period.
    I've been using analytics lag and lead feature and can pretty much get the start and end dates setup but having difficulty determining count ---count(*) within the analytic. (I think I can do it outside of the analytic with a self join but performance will suffer). I have millions of records in this table.
    I've been playing with the windowing using RANGE and INTERVAL days but to no avail. When I try this and count(*) (over partition by package_ID, location_office_id order by event_date range ......) I can calculate the interval correctly by subtracting the lead date - current date, however,
    the count is off because when I partition the values by package_id, location_office_id I get the third group of package 12 partitioned with the first group of package 12 (or in same window) because they are at the same office. However, I want to treat these separately because the package has gone to a different office in be-tween.
    I've attached the DDL/DML to create my test case. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting the CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements; that's very helpful!
    You can do what you want with LEAD and/or LAG, but here's a more elegant way, using the analytic ROW_NUMBER function:
    WITH     got_grp_num     AS
         SELECT     package_id, location_office_id, event_date
         ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  package_id
                             ORDER BY        event_date
               -     ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  package_id
                             ,             location_office_id
                             ORDER BY        event_date
                           )     AS grp_num
         FROM     test
    --     WHERE     ...     -- If you need any filtering, put it here
    SELECT       package_id
    ,       location_office_id
    ,       MIN (event_date)     AS start_date
    ,       MAX (event_date)     AS end_date
    ,       COUNT (*)          AS cnt
    FROM       got_grp_num
    GROUP BY  package_id
    ,       location_office_id
    ,       grp_num
    ORDER BY  package_id
    ,       start_date
    ;This approach treats the problem as a GROUP BY problem. Getting the start_date, end_date and cnt are all trivial using aggregate functions. The tricky part is what to GROUP BY. We can't just GROUP BY package_id and location_office_id, because, when a package (like package_id=1) leaves an office, goes to another office, then comes back, the two periods spent in the same office have to be treated as separate groups. We need something else to GROUP BY. The query above uses the Fixed Difference method to provide that something else. To see how this works, let's run the sub-query (slightly modified) by itself:
    WITH     got_grp_num     AS
         SELECT     package_id, location_office_id, event_date
         ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  package_id
                             ORDER BY        event_date
                           )     AS p_num
         ,          ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  package_id
                             ,             location_office_id
                             ORDER BY        event_date
                           )     AS p_l_num
         FROM     test
    SELECT       g.*
    ,       p_num - p_l_num     AS grp_num
    FROM       got_grp_num     g
    ORDER BY  package_id
    ,       event_date
    ;Output:
    `       LOCATION
    PACKAGE  _OFFICE
        _ID      _ID EVENT_DATE P_NUM P_L_NUM GRP_NUM
         12        1 2001-01-01     1       1       0
         12        1 2001-01-02     2       2       0
         12        1 2001-01-03     3       3       0
         12        2 2001-01-08     4       1       3
         12        2 2001-01-10     5       2       3
         12        1 2001-01-11     6       4       2
         12        1 2001-01-12     7       5       2
         12        1 2001-01-13     8       6       2
         12        1 2001-01-14     9       7       2
         13        5 2001-01-02     1       1       0
         13        5 2001-01-04     2       2       0
         13        5 2001-01-05     3       3       0
         13        6 2001-01-06     4       1       3
         13        6 2001-01-11     5       2       3As you can see, p_num numbers the rows for each package with consecutive integers. P_l_num likewise numbers the rows with consecutive integers, but instead of having a separate series of numbers for each package, it has a separate series for each package and location . As long as a package remains at the same location, both numbers increase by 1, and therefore the difference between those two numbers stays fixed. (This assumes that the combination (package_id, event_date is unique.) But whenever a pacakge changes from one location to another, and then comes back, p_num will have increased, but p_l_num will resume where it left off, and so the difference will not be the same as it was previously. The amount of the difference doesn't mean anything by itself; it's just a number (more or less arbitrary) that, together wth package_id and location_office_id, uniquely identifies the groups.

  • Help with JSP and JSTL tag

    I am trying to accomplish the following

    -display a radio button otherwise

  • Regular expression to search if a word occurs with z and /z tags

    Hi ,
    I am trying to create a regex to search for the occurence of two words within <z> and </z> tags.(they must occur between <z> and and next immideate </z> tags)
    This is my regex
    <z>\s[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)word1[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)word2[\w\W]+?</z>|<z>\s[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)word2[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)word1[\w\W]+?</z>
    I am trying to specify (?!</z>) in order that i insist that my regex engine does map for word1 and word2 within <z> and its next immideate </z> tags. The words can appear either ways word1 followed by word2 or vice versa.
    The above regex does not work fine.
    It maps fine for the following sentence
    <z> This is test for pattern for a Regex </z> <z> Also we would like to conclude what is happening </z> <z> Another test for paragraph is happening </z>
    The regex is as follows
    <z>\s[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)pattern[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)Regex[\w\W]+?</z>|<z>\s[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)Regex[\w\W]+?(?!</z>)pattern[\w\W]+?</z>
    But, when i include the </z> in between pattern and Regex , it should not match, but that is not what is happening.
    <z> This is test for pattern </z> for a Regex</z> <z> Also we would like to conclude what is happening </z> <z> Another test for paragraph is happening </z>
    Please let me know how I can accomplish the same.
    Thanks.

    oops.. sorry ..this is aligned better ...
    Hi , I am using this regex
    (?=(?:(?!</z>).)+?\bpattern\b.+</z>)(?!(?:(?!</z>).)+?\bscientific\b.+</z>)((\bpattern\b(?:(?!</z>).)+)\bpattern\b|\bpattern\b)I have written the above regex to match pattern between <z> and </z> provided there is no word "scientific" within that "z" tags.
    I have been trying to replace the regex to do the same between two sentences, here in my case I have a paragraph with multiple sentences. The delimiter to determine a sentence is dot (.). So i am trying to specify the condition as above to match between two sentences - using representation for dot as (\. )
    The following is my regex
    (?=(?:(?!\.).)+?\bpattern\b.+\.)(?!(?:(?!\.).)+?\bscientific\b.+\.)((\bpattern\b(?:(?!\.).)+)\bpattern\b|\bpattern\b) But this does not work..
    Can you please tell me how to go about this?
    Thanks.

  • SGE2000 LACP/LAG and vlans

    Hi, Have recently purchased an SGE2000 and have a number of ports we wish to connect to some xen servers via 803.2ad (LACP). However the software is telling me we cannot create a LAG with vlans. Is this some sort of bug? Is there a firmware release to fix this? We have a number of other branded switches which do this just fine. I would rather not have to sell this switch, as I do like linksys switches.

    This is not a limitation from what I can tell. You need to remove the ports from all vlans except management. Then set up the ports to be part of your lag group. The lag can then be assigned to the desired vlan.
    I haven't been able to fully test this due to some other quirks I haven't figured out for this switch yet, but procedurally, the switch does not complain when you configure it in this manner.

  • Installing SF302-08p with VOIP and Vlans

    I am installing this switch to a new departement. The reason of this is to share networks and bring POE over there as we will be istalling VOIP phones next month. We already have a network in place:
    -Cisco me 3400 from the ISP
    -Cisco ASA 5510 firewall
    -Cisco ESW 520 (x3) where access points are connected as well as most part of the network
    -Cisco catalyst 3900 (x3) for extra ports
    I am actually adding these 2 devices:
    -SF302-08P
    -WES610N
    The SF302-08P will be used for network and VOIP, while the WES610n connects 2 industrial printers to the network.
    The network uses VLANS (10 WAN for office, 100 VOIP, 300 WIFI and 309 for management)
    Here are my troubles:
    The SF302-08P refuse VOIP registration but allows computers
    The WES610n connects to access point, allows devices to fetch info from DHCP but blocks every connection except tracert
    Any advices or help on this would be greatly appreciated

    This forum deals primarily with the Cisco Enterprise switches and as such that is the expertise people have here. You have a Small Business switch. No offense intended but you should move this to the Small Business switches forum where you should get the help you need -

  • ADF Faces components with HTML and DIV tags

    Hello all,
    I want to know if there a way to place a <div> tag within an adf faces component tag? eg. <af:table> tag and insert the div tag between </af:column>? I tried doing this by placing the div tag between columns and also enclosing it with verbatim tags, but a parsing exception occurs during run time. The purpose of this is to create frozen columns for horizontal scrolling.
    The code looks like:
    <af:table ...>
    <af:column headerText= ...>
    <f:facet name= ...>
    <h:outputText value= .../>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    <f:verbatim>
    //DIV TAG
    </f:verbatim>
    <af:column headerText= ...>
    <f:facet name= ...>
    <h:outputText value= .../>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    <af:column headerText= ...>
    <f:facet name= ...>
    <h:outputText value= .../>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    <f:verbatim>
    //END DIV TAG
    </f:verbatim>
    </af:table>
    Thanks in advance.

  • Creating new Tags with HTMLEditorKit and painting tag

    hello,
    I am trying to make a simple modification to HTMLEditorKit so that I can implement a custom tag eg TFONT a font that has transparency capabilities.
    I have overriden javax.swing.text.html.parser.ParserDelegator class and am able to detect the tags but I need to implement the tag. Basically I want a way to render text that is partly transparent (like the css3 opaque attribute)
    Therefore I want to paint my tag, but I am not sure how to override HTMLEditorKit for ViewFactory, in order to create my own View class for this tag. A simple example wwould be great.
    Thanks
    greg

    Overlapping of tags is a really bad thing to do. There is also no need to do it.
    <b>Some bold<i> some bold Italic</b> some Italic</i> is -bad-. Better to do the following as it is much clearer and also correct.
    <b>Some bold<i> some bold Italic</i></b><i> some Italic</i>.
    As for the rest, search on google for the method call, find a book on the subject.

  • IPMP and VLANs

    I would like to have two NICs in IPMP configuration and public connections tagged with VLANs.
    I know the naming convention when one VLAN tag assigned to the physical NIC but I do not quite understand how to add multiple VLAN tags to one NIC and VLAN tags to pseudo interfaces.
    Here is the configuration I have:
