Calculating Usage Decision from MIGO

Hi All,
while doing GR in MIGO, it's creating inspection lot. I want to calculate Usage Decision automatically while saving the GR document in MIGO. How is this possible ? Shall i need to use any user exit to achieve this ?

If you are doing a UD automatically via the MIGO GR, why are you even bothering to create an inspection lot? You are not recording any inspection values so what is the purpose of creating the inspection lot to begin with. Just deactivate the inspection type for the material.

Update purchase order history after usage decision from quality

Hi guys,
I'm working with active ingredients, after entering the % of the active ingredient in quality, then making the usage the decision, I need to update the history of the purchase order for the quantity posted.
what I mean is that if I received 1000 KG of a raw material, then in the quality check I found that the % of the active ingredients is 90%, I update the purchase order quantity to 900 KG, I know that this is made by using transaction MWBQ, but what are the settings I have to make at the very beginning before using transaction MWBQ

QM-WM Usage decision split between Unrestricted & Blocked

Hi:
I have a situation where I do a usage decision from a goods receipt of a PO. It is working fine - I can either book it into Unrestricted or Blocked stock and the WM posting change happens automatically.
I now want to do both together, i.e. 150kg comes in and 50 is released and 100 is blocked.
The IM posting is fine, however the WM posting change doesn't process. My WM stock ends up with stock sitting in 922 Tr-zone. I I go into Lu04 and process them individually, they process without a problem so I don't understand why they don't happen automatically?
Any suggestions?

As per WM as Stock types are different TO should takes place differnetly.It does not make sence making it automatically because when you put something in say block stock it has be treated differently since SAP presume that there is some issue with the stock,that is a reason you have done some posting in Block stock.Differnet TO or LT06 should happen for the same.

Customizing mmbe screen in order to display Usage Decision????

I am SAP QM/MM consultant..
My client wants a customized mmbe screen, in which besides the Unrestricted and QI stock, there should be an additional column for Usage Decision in which the Usage Decision ( wrt QM ) for that particular batch should be displayed.
I have never done this and have no idea how mmbe screen can be customized in order to display Usage decison..
Please provide your valuable inputs to my query asap..

WM - QM usage decision scrap - automatic TO creation

How can I realize an automatic transfer order processing for the following scenario:
MIGO Goods receipt posting with reference to PO into quality
QA11 Usage decision Scrap
Transfer requirement (WM mtype 551 / IM mtype 553) is being created but although the correct storage type (902 GR area external rcpts) is being determined the system cannot process the transfer order in background since the respective storage bin (dynamic IM-material document) cannot be determined => error message u201CSystem cannot find source storage binu201D.
I am able to process the transfer order in foreground successfully. Via u201Cstock figuresu201D (F7) the system is able to determine the respective storage bin (including stock search with inspection lot) correctly so I wonder why this is not being done in the background processing.

Bin can be determined automatically only based on the strategy (for your case, it's removal strategy) assigned to the storage type in question. For 902, it's a interim storage type without strategy assigned.
I am afraid you can only manually process the TR in foreground for your scenario. Otherwise, you may consider putting away QI stock from 902 into a normal storage type. You should then be able to process the TR of scrap in background.

AFS-QM Error in stock posting performed by taking Usage decision

Hi all,
during stock posting with 105 mov type performed by taking Usage Decision (QA11), I faced with a strange system behavior, described beneath.
Previuos steps:
Purchase order creation
Partial Good receipt performed by MIGO, mov type 103 (Blocked stock from PO)
Automatic Creation of Inspection Lot
Error encountered:
If I take usage decision (QA11) for the inspection lot created, putting the stock checked in Unrestricted Use (correspondant mov type = 105), in the following good receipt (related to the same purchase order), the incoming stock available is less of the real quantity, previously accepted..
After some checks we understood that with 105 mov type the system doubles the real quantity previoulsy accepted, acting in the following manner:
Initial PO: 100 PZ
1° Good receipt: 30 PZ
(automatic creation of inspection lot)
If we take a usage decision, posting stock to unrestricted use (mov type 105), in the 2° Good receipt, the quantity available from the same PO is not 70 PZ (100 - 30), but only 40 PZ ! ! (100 - (30 * 2)) = 40
Please note that it does not occur if we post stock (always 105 mov type) with a MIGO transaction, so we are forced to think that the problem is strictly related to AFS-QM inventory posting, and not to 105 mov type or inbounding process.

I'm not familiar with the specific apparel and footwear solution but with regards to QM, if you are using the standard SAP delivered stock postings, it should use 105 to accept the material to unrestricted for the GR blocked.
I would first use MB51 for the material and batch and review all the material movement documents. Look at the trail of movements and try to see where the changes happen.
In your example, what did the unrestricted inventory and GR blocked inventory show as stock levels?
I'd also check OSS for issues related to AFS/QM. This is not new functionality in SAP so I would be surprised if this was an actual bug or problem in the system that hasn't been seen before.

Usage Decision Results to any stock update?

Dear SAP Experts,
I want to know , when usage Decision is taken in QM, stock will be updated or not?
After usage decision say few quantity is scrapped and given usage decision code for the same. I want to know this decision will update to stock or not? if it doesnot update the satock automatically, then what standard movement types are used to post this scrapped quantity.

May or may not be!
Stock posting through QM and UD are 2 separate events although executed through same TCode.
If you want that stock should be posted automatically in to unrestricted or into block with UD at the same time, you can do that setting in QS51 against appropriate UD code.
If the system status of inspection lot contains UD ICCO SPCO, that means stock posting and UD both have been done
After usage decision say few quantity is scrapped and given usage decision code for the same. I want to know this decision will update to stock or not? if it doesnot update the satock automatically, then what standard movement types are used to post this scrapped quantity
I could not interpret this correctly.
Seems that you are narrating a case where UD and stock posting are done and later you want to scrap the material
You can simply do it through MIGO using 551 movement. (Scrapping against cost center from unrestricted use)
But changing once given UD, will not perform any movement again.

Quality score by usage decision?

Dear SAPIENTS,
Can any one help me in creation of this configuration setting?
I would like to have quality score calculation from usage decision. Score calculation should be done by number of quantity received against order.
Suppose if 100 quantity ordered:
25% Deviation means 75 only received then score is 75
Likewise for 50%, 75% and 100%

Usage Decision : Mov 102

Hello.
When i do an usage decision in inspection lot, can i do movement 102 to return goods. ?
I have a problem: when i receive goods from vendor, and i do migo to enter goods.. In QM will generate inspection lot.
But after, the employes review goods, and sometimes some handle units are wrong, and we have to reject this HU.
Is it possible to do mov. 102 in usage decision?
How can i do this, without affect statistics in QM.

Hi,
You can do 102 i.e. GR cancellation till the Inspection lots has not been processed by QM inspector.
If this has been done and stock has been posted to unrestricted stock. You can not take it back to Quality Stock as standard SAP.
You need to apply a OSS note for the same. There are many such posting for this scenario.

How to Create Custom Usage Decisions

Hi,
I am working in ECC 6.0. I want to create a Custom Usage decision (Plant Specific). I can not remember where to go to set this up?
If I use transaction QS41 and set up my own Code Group under Catalog type 3 (Usage Decision), where can I attach the Selected Set that tells the system how to post the Usage Decision (i.e. Unrestricted, Restricted, Scrap...)
Any help with this would be huge.

I get confused sometimes with this.
When I go into QS51..I get to choose Catalog Type 3 (Usage Decision) and my Plant. Then I create my Selected Set. I highlight that and Double Click on Selected Set Codes. Inside there I create my Accept and Reject codes and assign Posting Proposals. From there I save.
I just ran a MIGO transaction and created an 01 type Inspection Lot. I tried to go in and do a Usage Decision on it. When I hit the drop down...it gives me the Original SAP Catalog. I do not see my Selected Set I just created.
Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Transfer Posting error upon u201CQM Usage Decision with WM HUu201D

I am switching from the SAP system u201CUsing MIGO with WM (no SU) and Inspection Lot processingu201D to a process using u201CInbound Delivery with WM-HU and Inspection Lot processingu201D.
For e.g. I have a material with 10 pcs packed in one HU, PGRd and putaway. Inspection Lot is created for the HU containing 10 pcs. I am ideally hoping to do Posting change of 6 pcs to Unrestricted (with underlying mvmt typ 321) and Transfer Posting of 4 pcs to Qty. for Sample usage (with underlying mvmt typ 331).
In QA11, when I select posting key u201CVMENGE01 To Unrestricted useu201D, I get the error message u201CHandling Unit is locked. No assignment possible. Message No. HUFUNCTIONS007u201D. (I donu2019t have any document open to cause locking).
When I select posting key u201CVMENGE03 Qty. for Sample usageu201D, I get the error message u201CHandling Unit is locked. No assignment possible. Message No. QHU17u201D.
Here is the status in u201CInspection Lot Stocku201D tab of QA11.
u2022     Inspection Lot Qty.: 10 pcs
u2022     Sample size: 4 pcs
u2022     Status for u201CHU Transfer Postingu201D is Green
I am currently doing GR first and then putaway. Though I am open to doing putaway and then do PGR, if that can help, in any way.

I did GR for 10 PCs with serial numbers. During QM, when usage decision, in the tab "Inspection lot stock", I input 8 PCs to the unres, 2 to blocked stock.
Upon posting, system pops up a Serial Number dialog showing "TF quality to unrest" with No. serial no is 10/8, and a list of 10 serial numbers.
I select 8 serial to post to unres. But still, the system keeps having error "Exactly 8 serial numbers must be selected (instead of 10)"...
This error is dur to
You have selected 28 to U/r & rest you want to put to Block.
so what system does is by default it will select first U/R qty which is 8.
While stock posting it is showing 10 Sr numbers.out of which you have to select 8 for U/R.
so only select those 2 numbers which you want to put to block...Click on delet(bucket)
now only 8 will remain which you wnat to put to U/R.
select all 8 and click on ok
save.
Rest of the 2 Sr number will automatically move to unrestricted.
This is how sap in UD works for Sr nos.
This will solve your problem.

Solution to Non-Reversal of Usage Decision

Hi Experts,
I have facing an Issue over Goods movement .
Issue is User has done GR against PO using Transaction MIGO with mvmt Type - 101 and GR is posted to Quality stock for inspection , there user has accepted the usage Decision using QA32 and posted the Stock to Unrestricted using movement type -321. But Now they want to cancel the GR earlier done because they have posted wrong Quantity.
Now since reversal of UD is not a standard solution and also is not a immediate solution to this problem, so what solution i should suggest to client to have his requirement fulfilled for this Issue without doing reversal of UD. We can think of Developing Zprogram of reversal of UD later.

It is time to correct something.
first of all the initial question was already a frequently discussed question.
The question " will any accounting entries get effected" is again a basic and frequently discussed question.
You have to search before posting - this is a rule in SCN
Unfortunately I was not present to reject this question right away, as this would have been a better solution, as it had forced you to search. But rejecting it now will only create damage since you got wrong advice.
Not sure where all these myths come from and why they are spread.
A return is something quite different from a cancellation, even that both lead to zero stock at the end, a return is used in external processing, it is about sending materials back to your vendor, a cancellation of a receipt is pure internal processing to correct a wrong entered value (no physical movement). It is statistically not the same, receiving and cancelling it again is just as good as not received anything as it nullifies. Receiving and doing a return are different processes , an inbound and an outbound process, it is visible separately. It is taken into account in vendor evaluation.
To cancel the receipt movement after the usage decision you can use MIGO, but do not choose cancel material document, because the material document only knows that the stock is in quality status, which is not the case anymore after a usage decision.
just do again goods receipt - reference to PO - but change then the movement type to the cancellation movement type (102).
Then goto the detail into WHERE tab and change status to the stock status your stock has right now.
Do you really think that "Developing Zprogram of reversal of UD" would do any good (or just create inconsistencies) if the processes and basic handling of MIGO are not even understood?

Wrong usage decision

Dear sirs,
I have one issue.
One of materials is assigned to quality.
GR (101 mvt type) is posted for that material for 20000 litres and inspection lot is created.
While performing transaction QA32, usage decision is to be made with 20000 litres and this much quantity is to be moved from quality stock to unrestricted stock.
Unfortunately user has posted usage decision with zero quantity.
With this,20000 litres of stock is left in quality only.
Now how can I change usage decision?
Please suggest me the solution

When I take QA32 and try to post usage decision for the same inspection lot, system is throwing error message "The function you selected can not be carried out"
When I try to post "return deliery to vendor " using MIGO keeping the stock type as Quality stock, then also system throws message "You do such changes in quality"

Error while doing the Usage Decision in transaction QA32

Hello Friends,
While doing the goods receipt for customer returns from customer, system generated a inspection lot with inspection type 06.
So in QA32 transaction, system is showing that inspection lot, but in same screen, against the column InspPlan: Material, system is not showing any entry.
Later on after analysis, i found that no inspection plan was assinged to the material, Plant for which that inspection lot was created. When i checked that inpection lot in transaction QA03, in Insp. Specifications tab, agaisnt the Assigned Specification section, system was not showing any entry in fields Group, Group Counter, Plant, Usage.
And against that inspection lot,status CRTD, PREQ, CHCR are active.
Because of which, when user is trying to do the UD against this lot system throwing the error message as Status check error.
When i checked again i found that status CRTD is throwing the error message.
Hence friend, i want to do the Usage decision for that inspection lot than how to do?
Now user has assigned the material, plant to the inspection plan in QP02.
Should i go to QA02 transaction, and in Insp. Specification tab, for fields group, group counter, usage, Plant, maintain the values?
Will this allow me to do the usage decision against the inspection lot which got generated when no inspection plan was assingned to that material, plant?

For Result Recording and Ud the inspection lot status must be REL as u told ur status is CRTD it Mean Some master
is missing in inspection lot,generally inspection plan for that u run QA02 enter inspection lot no go to specification tab
there a button assigned specification there click on that as u click on button u will find that plan for above material copied to lot and it will show u plan detail line group and group counter no.
then go to next screen Sample if sample management is active and click on sample then system will calculate sample size then save ur lot. it would get Status As REL now ui can enter result or take UD
