Call Audio Routing, I want Headset, then Speaker.

When using a Bluetooth hands free in my car with my iPhone 6, It doesn't appear there's a setting to default to use the BT hands free first, and then when I'm not in my car, use the speaker on the phone. Seems like something is missing in the General/Accessibility/Call Audio Routing settings.

I Should add that the source I use most in this situation is my iPad air 2 steraming to myATV from both iTunes and Amazon music.

  • Can not use the handheld to hear audio. Must use headset or speaker

My handheld is not working. When I make or receive a call utilizing the handset I can not hear the other person but they can hear me. I can only hear the audio successfully if I am using my earbud or the speaker phone.

Screenchomp is a good app that we use at a school for this - its owned by Techsmith, the same company that owns Jing and Camtasia, two leaders in the market. Two other options to look at (which I preferred to Screenchomp) are ShowMe and Educreations.
If you're just looking at a co Peter based solution for the MacBook, mid recommend screencast-o-matic.

  • No Audio after switching from Headset/Speakers

    Product : Sound Blaster Z
    OS : Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Issue : No audio when switching from headset to speaker or speaker to headset
Description : I used to have it working perfectly fine before I formatted my computer. I could be playing a game or watching a movie using my speakers, then I would use the switch in the SB Control Panel to make it play through my headphones and everything would work. Now if I do that, I loose the audio from that program that is currently running. Meaning I have to restart the program and the audio will come through the specified audio device. Sounds like the windows setting "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" is acting up, but I have tried this with both the setting on and off.
    Any help is appreciated.

AFAIK some applications loose audio on switch, while others don't.
are you saying the same app once didn't loose audio on switch, now does after a format ?
in other words, do you believe that before the format nothing ever lost audio on switch ? that would mean there's a way to solve it, as most of us, if not all, are having that same issue (which is Creative's fault, not Microsoft's).

There is probably a red light on inside your headphone port, indicating that the analog/digital switch in there is stuck in the digital position. Insert a headphone plug and wigle it around, especially in the horizontal plane, as you insert and remove it several times. This will usually unstick the switch and restore normal operation. If it doesn't, the machine will need to be repaired.
This has been a fairly common problem, but in most cases it is easily cured as described above.

  • Outgoing call audio issue

I bought an iPhone 4s in India two days back. I am facing a strange problem when I make audio calls. Very often (not all the time) I do not hear any audio after making an outgoing call though the call go thru' and timer starts clicking. When I checked with the people whom I called, they said that they got the call but did not hear anything at their end. The workaround that I figured out is to press SPEAKER button twice (activate and deactivate) when I encouter this problem. It seems to be working as of now. Not sure if this is a hardware problem or a software problem or if I am missing anything with settings. Can someone help me?
    Thanks !!!

    Hi raj1434,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you are not hearing callers, or being heard on calls, use these steps to guide your troubleshooting:
    iPhone: Microphone issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5183
Make sure nothing is plugged in to the jack connector.
Make sure nothing is blocking any of the microphones (see the pictures below to locate the microphones on your device)
Make sure none of the microphones is obstructed by dirt or debris.
Turn the iPhone off and then on.
Make sure that the latest version of iOS is installed.
iPhone: Receiver and call audio quality issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5196
Increase the volume during the call.
Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver. If you're using a protective case or display film, remove it and try again.
Make sure nothing is plugged into the headphone jack or the dock connector.
Check the receiver opening to see if it is clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
Try another location with better signal. If the audio issue happens only when on a call, it could be due to the location.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or a car kit, try turning off Bluetooth on your device. Learn more about troubleshooting Bluetooth connections.
If none of the steps above correct the behavior, back up your iPhone and restore the iOS software to factory settings:

  • Why can't I hear the phone ring when I call somebody, but if I put the speaker on it works

Why can't I hear the phone ring when I call somebody, but if I put the speaker on I can hear the ringing?

Don't jump all the way to restoring just yet.  Check to make sure there's nothing in the headphone jack, and nothing covering the microphones (including the noise cancelling microphone at the top next to the headset jack)
    1. Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    2. Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    3. Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    4. Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

  • PS4 Audio output to USB Headset and HDMI

Hi, I'm having an issue with the audio output from my PS4. I have a capture card (Elgato Game Capture HD) which is connected to my PS4 through the HDMI cable. I also have a Sony Gold Wireless Headset. Whenever I connect the headset using the USB bluetooth connector and have the audio settings set to allow the headset to receive both Chat and Game audio, the game audio going through the HDMI - and thus the Elgato -  is muted. Whenever I set the headset to receive just Chat audio, this then unmutes the HDMI game audio. I would like to be able to receive game and chat audio through the wireless headset, whilst also having game audio through the HDMI, however I have as yet not been able to find a setting to allow this. My question therefore is, is it possible to have game audio through the HDMI whilst also using a headset receiving game audio? Thanks in advance for any help.

I want to play audio from my MacBookPro (13inch) through my Roberts stereo which has a standard USB port, which can be selected as the source for playing through the speakers. Does anyone know of a cable I can use to connect the audio output on my MacBook to the USB input on my stereo?
I would have thought this was a pretty standard conversion but cant find anyone selling something with a 3.5mm jack on one end and a USB jack on the other?
    Thanks in advance!
Why don't you use the USB port on your computer to get the audio out? USB to USB.

Stop answering calls with blocked numbers. If it's someone who really wants to talk to you, they'll leave you a message and you can call them back.

  • IOS 5.1 Upgrade for iPhone 4. No call audio as it was in iOS 5.0.1

Previously I upgraded my iPhone 4 (16GB Factory Unlocked) from iOS 4.3.5 to 5.0 and 5.0.1 onward. It just made my phone dumb. There is no call audio at all. I upgraded my iPhone 4 today from iOS 5.0.1 to the current relese of 5.1. The prombel remains same here in my case. When I call speaker on/off pad always shows on. And as previous there is no audio in call, no ringback tone, to sound of opposite end, nothing at all.
I wished iOS 5.1 will take me out of this problem when it has been reported a lot about this bug. My original iOS was 4.3.5 and I beg apple to give an option to downgrade the iOS as it seems that in the name of upgradation they are losing quality, faith of the users and making phones invalid or disable.
    What will I do now?

    S. M. Mahabubul Alam, Apple just robbed me of $150 bucks because it was out of warranty.  I have a simliar problem, I was being muted on telphone calls after i upgraded to iOS 5.1 on my iphone 4.  They blamed my hardware, but never had an issue with this prior to the upgrade.  They need an option to downgrade.

  • 9300 with no audio - connected to phantom headset

I have a 9300 with no in call audio in either direction, although incoming calls do ring.
The display shows the headset active symbol, but there is no attached headset and Bluetooth is disabled.
Any ideas how to resolve? Phone is currently useless.
    Andrew

This might sound crazy, but turn it off, take out the battery. Count to 10, and put it back in. I say this because it happened to me a loooooooong time ago and I did this and it worked again.
    Just a thought.

  • Filtering OSPF routes from MPBGP to BGP speaker in the same VRF

I'm wondering if anyone has some ideas they an share on this.
    Assume the following:
    - CE1 is speaking *iBGP and OSPF to PE1 inside vrf foo
    - PE1 is mutually redistributing CE1's OSPF table with MPBGP
    - PE1 exchanges MPBGP routes with PE2.
    - PE2 is mutually redistributing CE2's OSPF table with MPBGP
    - CE2 is speaking *iBGP and OSPF to PE2 inside vrf foo
So the problem is that the OSPF routes redistributed into MPBGP from via one CE are being announced to the other CE via the PE-CE BGP process.  Because those routes are already being received by the CE via the PE-CE OSPF process, they are showing up in the CE's BGP table as RIB failures.
Is there any way to filter those out?  I've tried setting and matching tags and communities from within various redistribution points on the PE, but I can't seem to keep them out of the CE's BGP table.

are you sure you are using iBGP on both sides and not eBGP?
I'm asking because routes learnt by PE1 from CE via iBGP ( meaning same BGP AS number on CE1 and PE1 vrf foo) will not be propagated to CE2, because an iBGP route learned by a BGP speaker in not pushed to another iBGP speaker.
So it means that a show ip bgp neighbor vrf foo advertised routes on PE2 shall  show that no routes from CE1 are being advertised to CE2.
As mentionned earlier, changing BGP admin distance is an option. Let BGP have a better distance on your CEs and this should do the trick :
    router bgp xxx
    distance bgp 20 20 20
Then after clearing bgp session, the rib failures are gone as OSPF is AD 110 and BGP is now AD 20 ( also remember that BGP does not annouces rib failure routes to other BGP peers)
    cheers
