Call Plan Charges....The Call Plan Costed More Tha...

I recently called BT regarding getting a cheaper Broadband and phone tarrif.  The net result was that I got a reduction, but that this reduction ( of around £7 a month ) meant that I no longer had the Evenings and Weekends call plan.
Now this was the first I had any idea that I was actually PAYING to have a call plan. Maybe I'm silly and should have looked this up....but then again, nothing in my phone bills EVER mentioned any specific charge for a call plan, though they do mention a call plan. I have BT's latest tarrifs document and trying to understand the plans in it is like quantum mechanics....especially when it says 'includes line rental' yet the monthly line rental of £16 is more than the call plan !
So I am utterly confused. All the more so as having checked my bills for the last few years I see my average QUARTERLY phone use has been around £3.50....yes...barely anything at all. Yet it would appear I have been paying more than that...what exact figure I cannot work out....one source implies it was £22 a quarter and another implies £12.....for the privilege of making hardly any calls at all under this 'call plan'. In other words....paying at least £12 a quarter to make £3.50 worth of calls.
Am I just confused, silly for not having woken up to this earlier, or ( given that I have been with BT on this line for 19 years with similar usage ) should I never have been sold this 'call plan' in the first place ?

The basic line rental includes free weekend calls. You have been paying extra for free weekday evening calls, so it depends on how many calls you make after 7pm in the evening.
Some of the broadband packages include free evening calls, so that must have been part of your original package.

  • How to charge the direct FI cost to network activities?

    Hi,
I was trying to use FB50 to charge the FI cost to the network. In the entry screen, there is a column called "network". But my account assignment element is actually at the activity level and I cannot find a column called "Network activity". So how can I input the network activity in that screen?
    Thanks,
    Ting

    Dear Ting,
You can do direct FI postings to Network & Activity by using FB50 Transaction.
    When you enter FB50
    First enter Network No.
Then you will find "Transaction No." column there you can enter Activity No. where you have to post actual cost.
"Transaction No." column you can see in between "Grant" & "Quantity" column.

  • Why does the creative cloud cost more in Australia than US

The Aussie dollar is currently stronger than the USD and heas been for 12 months, why do we have to pay a 25% premium over US customers for an online service that shouldn't be affected by shipping or import taxes?

    John, I'm not "they"

I tried to make a reasonable assumption about one of the elements that can explain the price difference. (If the Adobe local offices are separate legal entities)
Another thing to keep in mind is that they cannot stick to the exact conversion rate: if they are very close to it, they would sell at loss when the rate changes... (I was able to get a MBP for the price of a MacBook when the Sterling Pound made a dive compared to the Euro in 2008.) I guess that they set a confortable buffer, and try to stick to it (otherwise, prices would change often, creating confusion and anger to their customers and resellers.)
Maybe that if we add all the parts, a chunk of the price difference can be explained. Then, the rest is "explained" by the fact that Adobe is not a non-profit company.
I sure would want to pay less...
Peter, we can all make assumptions that can explain part of the price difference, and I'm sure we have read all of these guesses in these forums over the years. I think that if you add them all up, you will never come to the actual surcharges.
You say Maybe that if we add all the parts, a chunk of the price difference can be explained. Then, the rest is "explained" by the fact that Adobe is not a non-profit company. I see it the other way around: The price difference is explained by the fact that Adobe is not a non-profit company. The charge what they do because they can an they know they'll get it, as John says.
Pity that Adobe does not seem to realize how much this policy encourages piracy in countries where the average salaries are way, way below the price of any of their products. In my opinion, sales would probably increase in those contries if they charged reasonable prices. Although it may be too late in places where piracy has become in practice a not-frowned-upon practice.

  • Webservice calls timing out more tha they should

I am calling a REST webservice and set a read and connection timeout of 15,000 milliseconds. Probably 1 out of 3 calls is timing out although I dont think the length of the timeout needs to be increased because when it does work it returns the data in less than a second, and increasing the timeout to 60,000 ms doesn't improve the number of timeouts. When a query fails I retry it upto 5 times before eventually givving up, it always eventually manages to work within the 5 try limit, If I post the same query in a webbrowser it invariably returns correctly almost immediately. I have asked the provider of the webservice if their system is overloaded - they dont think so.
So Im now wondering if my code is incorrect, it receives a SocketTimeoutException when things go wrong. Is it correct for me to get the response code before I get the input stream, do I need to check that something is ready
before I access the inputstream. Here is an extract .

FYI:The code was okay, the problem was due to my firewall, sometimes it wasnt letting responses from the webservice back. Dont know exactly why it was doing this not but chnaging the firewall has solved the issue.

  • When is a contract legal.  If the local store suggests I send in my 2008 Macbook in for 310 at their suggestion can the copany turn around and tell me it costs more than 1200 dollars?

I went to my local Apple Store with a display problem and was told 700 dollars to reair it there or send it in for a complete overhaul referbish for
310 plus tax.  I took it home consulted with my wife she said for a 2008 310 wasn't bad.  I brought it in and set I an agreement for the 310 and sent it in to returned in 3 to 5 days.  I also read online that others had done the same theing.  3 Days later I get an email from Apple that the repair would cost more than 1200 dollars and do I want to repair it for that price.  I called Tim Simpson and was told Apple doesn't honor agreements made at the retail store.  Should Apple be obligated to honor it's contracts.  I am assuming that Apple retail and Apple repair work for the same company.  The hinge problem has been a problem and Apple had a free  repair window for 6 months but didn't tell it's customers about it.  At least I never heard from them.  So when is a contract a contract and has Apple success lesoned it's famouse customer support.  We have been using Mac's since the 80's and currently have 7 products currently in use in our household.  I used to work for a computer consulting company and since moving to North Carolina moved completely to Apple.  Is it time to revise that thinking.  Thanks for you ear and input

    Hi,
Thanks for the response.  The store told me everything would be fixed for 310 because the go through the entire computer and fix any problems they find.  Now was that a written guarantee or a verbal assurance.  To Bob if I wasn't told that the price would be lower then I wouldn't have bothered to send it in and we would use it until it stopped functioning and know one would be upset.  It was at the store suggestion I sent it in and spent over an hour of my time traveling to an from the only Apple store in my area.  I worked in technology for 12 years and have dealt with and performed customer service on a professional level.  I have experience with contracts and if someone says we will do something for you writes up an invoice and does not say that it is up to the "depot" then there is a case to be made.

  • I am so disgusted with Verizon CS.  Six hours over two days on the phone to upgade a phone and my plan.  More to come, but I have names, and even a direct phone number to a "supervisor".  I'll be posting more...  The incompetence of EVERYONE (which is alm

I'll be posting all the details of this tomorrow.

    So, I'm back, the OP.
    As briefly as i can:
Two phone family, currently one smart, one dumb phone.  The dumb is eligible for upgrade.
Call into V and spoke with "Anthony" to get info on what plan(s) I might consider as I upgrade the dump to a new iPhone 6.  Currently an old "grandfathered in" Nationwide 700 plan. This was Friday Sept 19.  Get some info, which I assumed to be correct, including the fact, his words not mine, that the "upgrade (device) fee" can be negotiable.
Before I had any first hand knowledge, I assumed that I'd better get a "second opinion" so I drove over to my local Verizon (corporate) store.  Well, I got a different story, including the percentage of my employee discount on service, my employer gives a 20% discount and has for years, I have my current statement / bill in my hand.  But no.... Verizon guy says that is wrong, its only 18%.  I ask him about upgrade fee being negotiable.  He says no, never.  So what had I learned?  That V guy on the phone from Friday was either lying or just ignorant.
Soooooo.... now its Tuesday, Sept 23.  The "BIG" day, day of 3 hours 50 minutes on the phone with SEVEN different V people, all of them telling me something different about what plan(s) I'm eligible for, your employee discount is 17, no 18, no 20 percent.  Yes we can negotiate an upgrade fee, no we can't...  At one point, now a couple hrs into it I say I've had enough, I want to talk to a supervisor.  "I'm sorry sir, supers can't come to the phone"  WHAT?  Well later, once I did speak to a first level supervisor and then a second level I of course found out that was wrong - more lies / misinformation?  The supervisor took the name of that V CS rep and looked at my every growing call log and said that he would speak to the CS rep.
So, nearing the 3 hrs mark into my attempt to find out about plans and buy an upgraded phone for my plan I reach "Brian". I have his direct number.  Apparently he is something more important that the past 6 people I've spoken to over the past thee hrs.  I tell him:  "EVERY SINGLE PERSON I've spoken to so far has told me something different, and or contradicted what the last person I've spoken to has said!!!!!"  Yes you can have 2 single line plans, no you can't, to get this plan your upgrading device has to be on the "Edge" plan, no it doesn't, your employers discount applies to the bottom line, no it doesn't, only to the data, and on, and on, and on.
Sooooooo I tell Brian, "here's how its going to go...  YOU are going to wave the upgrade fee.  I don't care where the money comes from, V or right out of your pocket.  I've been on the phone for now closing in on FOUR HOURS...."
Sooooo he agrees.  I laugh and tell him, "You know, it has nothing to do with the money, not its all about screwing V as much as I can, and wasting yours and V's time."
He says, order your phone and plan this week and I'll call you Friday (today Sept 26) and then credit your account the fee.
Soooo yesterday (Sept 25) I call in to do just that, order the phone and plan, WHICH I was told really the only plan that would suit you would be a More Everything Plan.  So, ok that's that.
I speak to a CS / Sales rep.  I buy the phone and then we go on to the plan.  I tell the rep THIS WHOLE LONG STORY, and it looks like we are heading towards the More Everything, BUT she says to me, "you know, you could do that Single Line plan for BOTH of your phones?"  I say "WHAT????"  I was told by two reps NO, and two reps "Well.... maybe".  This plan gets me everything I want AND saves me $10 a mo.
Sooooo we go for that, BUT.... I can't change my plan (from current Nation Wide 700) to 2 two single line plans until I activate my new phone (which will be 4 weeks until I get it - iPhone 6), SOOOOO once it arrives I HAVE TO CALL BACK TO V and switch - how much fun will that be??? MORE time (hours?) with V.
So we agree.... The rep says I just have to transfer you to our automated system where you'll agree to terms and conditions.. Fine.  Up comes the computer voice... and.... it says "hello.... you are upgrading your device (123) 555-1234 (it gives a real number), press 1 if this is correct."  WHAT???? That is NOT the phone number of my device  ***?  The auto system gives me the option to press another number to "enter a different number", so I do, AND......  The call disconnects.
Now... If I could track down ANY ONE OF THE PAST 8 PEOPLE I'D SPOKEN TO OVER THE PAST TWO DAYS, YOU'D BE READING ABOUT ME - "Upset customer KILLS everyone at V".  I AM SO ******* ****** OFF AT V... I'm now into 2 hrs today, plus the nearly 4 hrs the other day on the phone.
Soooooo.... I call back, have to tell the story again, this time to "Nick" in N.Y.  Nick says just go on line to your account, you can accept the terms there.  Well, what do you know....  It works, amazing.
But....  Nick says great and reads back the info on the phone I bought and says "...and I see you are on the More Everything Plan..."  WHAT, STOP, STOP, STOP.  I tell Nick, "Nope, I am not, I never agreed to that, I'm waiting, keeping my old plan for 4 weeks until I get the new phone, THEN I'm to call back (oh joy) to V and upgrade my plan"
Nick say's well you have the More Everything plan, and it is costing you $10 more a month, BUT I can't un-do it because there is a purchase (my phone) in progress... I am not BEYOND MAD.  We are now at SIX HOURS TOTAL TIME ON THE ******* PHONE OVER TWO DAYS.
I ask to speak to Nick's supervisor.  Melanie comes on the line.  I, weather she wants to hear it or not, TELL HER THE ENTIRE STORY, that when (and GOD help him if he doesn't) Brian, the top end supervisor calls on Friday (today) to check on my experience buying the phone / upgrading the plan AND to credit my account the upgrade fee, I'm going to have to tell him about EVERYTHING THAT'S HAPPENED TODAY and about the TWO MORE HOURS ON THE PHONE.  Melanie says, yes you do now have a More Everything... All I can do sir is apply a credit back to your account for the difference in cost between your old (what was my current) and the new More Everything (the plan I NEVER agreed to be on).
So, that is where we are as of now, Friday Sept 26 AM.  "Brain" said he'd be calling by noon-ish Pacific time. I've got his direct number, and If I don't here from him by noon, his phone will be ringing off the hook very 30 seconds until he picks up.
My experience to simply upgrade one of the two phones on my plan and the plan itself HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE.  VERIZON is sooo SCREWED UP.  NO TWO PEOPLE KNOW THE SAME INFO, and the INEPTITUDE displayed is sickening.

  • S_ALR_87013532 report -plan cost not rolling upto the WBS/Project level

    Dear All,
Plan cost from production orders is not rolling up to the WBS/Project level in S_ALR_87013532 ( Plan/Actual Variance report).
Where as plan cost from network is properly rolling up to the WBS/Project level in the above report.
Please suggest what could be the reason for this issue. Is any configuration needs to be done for this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vishal

    Dear sir,
Thanks for the reply & sorry for late response from my side.
OPSV settings are already maintained in our system.
Some how i realized  later that cost are actaully getting rolled to the WBS level, but we have observed one more discrepancy.
    Example -
    Production order "X" value - 100 (  as seen through co03)
Production order "X"value- 40 ( as seen through report s_alr_87013532).
We found that  in report  s_alr_87013532 , although my total  producton order value of 100 is represented at the WBS /Project level, but at the production order level , it is showing value of 40.
On further analysis we found that for production order X
    Materail cost- 60
    Labour cost-40
The material cost of 60  is not getting fetched against production order "X" in report " S_ALR_87013532".
There are very few cases , where such discrepancy is seen.
    Kindly suggest.

  • What is the significance of "cost" column in explain plan

    Hi,
Can anyone explain what is the meaning of the values which we get in the cost column in the explain plan..For Ex : Cost : 4500 . What does this value mean...and is it measured in which form of units...i mean seconds, nanoseconds etc

    kingfisher,
Ok one more link for you but I shall quote the text also here,
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14211/optimops.htm#i82005
The cost is an estimated value proportional to the expected resource use needed to execute the statement with a particular plan. The optimizer calculates the cost of access paths and join orders based on the estimated computer resources, which includes I/O, CPU, and memory.
    And few paragraphs down,
    13.4.1.3.3 Cost
The cost represents units of work or resource used. The query optimizer uses disk I/O, CPU usage, and memory usage as units of work. So, the cost used by the query optimizer represents an estimate of the number of disk I/Os and the amount of CPU and memory used in performing an operation. The operation can be scanning a table, accessing rows from a table by using an index, joining two tables together, or sorting a row set. The cost of a query plan is the number of work units that are expected to be incurred when the query is executed and its result produced.
The access path determines the number of units of work required to get data from a base table. The access path can be a table scan, a fast full index scan, or an index scan. During table scan or fast full index scan, multiple blocks are read from the disk in a single I/O operation. Therefore, the cost of a table scan or a fast full index scan depends on the number of blocks to be scanned and the multiblock read count value. The cost of an index scan depends on the levels in the B-tree, the number of index leaf blocks to be scanned, and the number of rows to be fetched using the rowid in the index keys. The cost of fetching rows using rowids depends on the index clustering factor. See "Assessing I/O for Blocks, not Rows".
The join cost represents the combination of the individual access costs of the two row sets being joined, plus the cost of the join operation.
Now I guess if you read this part, it should be pretty clear what cost is.Cost is an evlaution of the resource that is estimated by Oracle for every step incurred in the uery execution. There are no of steps and each may involve doing IO,consuming CPU and/or using memory.Cost is a factor which oracle uses combining all of these 3 (depending on the version) together to propose the work done or expected to be done in exeuting a query. So this actualy should represent the time spent exactly on each and every step. That's what the objective frm cost is.But at the moment, this is not there. There amy be a situation that cost is shown as very high but query is working fine. There are woraround which can bring the cost down for example using and tweaking optimizer_index_cost_adj parameter , we can propose oracle regarding our indexes and it may pick up lesser cost evaluation. What is mentioned is that this model is becoming more and more mature and in the next releases, we may see that cost is representing exactly the time that we would spend inthe query. At the moment, its not there. So as Chris mentioned,Tuning for low cost only is not a good way.
I suggest you grab a copy of JL's book.He has explained it much better in his book.
Hope I said some thing useful.
    Aman....

  • Why are you trying to force us into new plans that cost more and offer less?

My wife and I are long term customers on a grandfathered Family Share Plan (2 lines with unlimited data, 1000 texts each, and 500 shared minutes). Now that my children are getting older I am ready to get them their own mobile phones; however, you won't allow me to add them to our existing plan (even if those new lines do not include a data package).  As recently as a few months ago I could have added a new line (talk only) for $9.99 per month. After an hour of discussion with your loyalty-program service rep, the only options offered to me were 1) give up the old plan and have all of us forced into a new one that will cost more while offering us significantly less, or 2) keep the existing plan for my wife and me and start a new "family" plan for my children (which, again, will be more expensive while offering less).  It would be much more convenient for all of us to be on the same plan with the same provider, but you are not allowing that to happen. Your customer service representative acknowledged multiple times that I have been a long term loyal customer -- but if you don't reciprocate that loyalty then I also am a misguided fool who is allowing you to take advantage of me. So now I will have to start investigating mobile service alternatives for my children; given the lack of loyalty that you have shown me thus far, l guess it's time to see what your competitors have to offer.

I could do the same.  I believe you had possibly an older plan than what I had that allowed more than 3 lines.  I remember specifically being kicked back an error and telling me to move to the 1400 minute plan as that was the only one that support 3 or more lines.
Too bad I don't have screenshots of it.  I purge my screenshots when making changes to anything on line for verification.

  • Report for extracting the actual and planned cost from service orders

    HI all
we are creating a report in BI for Module - Customer service . LIke , the report is all about how many complaints created in the system and how many completed technically and what is the cost involved for each complaint .
Like we want the comparision between the planned cost and the actual cost .
Now to give the logic to the BI Team for planned cost and actual cost , please suggest the flow of logic or table flow to arrive the planned and actual cost
    thanks in advance

    Hi Marthand,
I am not sure which datasource your are using. In this case, you can use the 0VALUETYPE to differencitae between th eplan and actuals. Normally Plan which is budget will have value 050 and for actuals will have 010. For costs, you will have one key figure and at the reporting level, you will have the costs restricted by the value type for plan and actual to make comparisons.
    Hope this helps.

  • Plan cost  in the costing variant

    Hello,Experts,
I have one problem in controlling .I have Finish product which is produced through subcontracting.
i have maintained Special procurement key 30(subcontracting) in the material master.
I have produced material through subcontracting only (first P.O & then by MIGO).
    No  Production Order is there.
Now the question is how plan cost of the subcontracting material has to be fetch?.
    Please help me out
    regards,

    Dear,
While doing subcontracting process the following accounting docs will come
suppose "X" is the finished component
    "A" & "B" are the child components
    the following documents will come
    X - stock BSX( debit)
    off set account X - ( credit)
    service cost FRL (debit)
    while doing with m.type 101
    NEXT
stock account of chaild component A - BSX
off set acount of stock - GBB - VBO(+)
stock account of chaild component B - BSX(-)
off set account of stock - GBB - VBO(-)
while receiving the finished component i.e 543 m.type(raw material consumption account)
Subcontracting handled through external operation in routing i.e Prod.Order>PR>PO>GR>Confirmation of Prod.Order is planned subcontracting which provide the subcontracting cost on order. That cost is loaded on the as actual cost on the order.Which in turn settle on the cost object.
I don't think without production order you will get plann cost.

  • Inclusion of planned cost to the material while Invoicing

    Hi Everyone,
We are facing a problem, kindly guide me to solve it:
We are purchasing 'X' Material (split valuated) through a Purchase Order in which we did not provide any planned cost.
But after GR we came to know that planned cost should also have been entered in the PO. But in the PO, while creation we did not select any planned cost line for the item. So after approval of PO and GR, we were not able to enter any planned cost.
Now while adding up planned cost during Invoicing through MIRO, we are facing an error message:
