Inclusion of planned cost to the material while Invoicing

Hi Everyone,
We are facing a problem, kindly guide me to solve it:
We are purchasing 'X' Material (split valuated) through a Purchase Order in which we did not provide any planned cost.
But after GR we came to know that planned cost should also have been entered in the PO. But in the PO, while creation we did not select any planned cost line for the item. So after approval of PO and GR, we were not able to enter any planned cost.
Now while adding up planned cost during Invoicing through MIRO, we are facing an error message:
Error saving valuation data for material P1S002 0002
Message no. M8829
Diagnosis
Error occurred when the system tried to save the valuation data.
Please guide me how to do invoicing by including the planned cost and booking the planned cost in the material.
Thanks and Regards

  • Plan cost  in the costing variant

    Hello,Experts,
I have one problem in controlling .I have Finish product which is produced through subcontracting.
i have maintained Special procurement key 30(subcontracting) in the material master.
I have produced material through subcontracting only (first P.O & then by MIGO).
    No  Production Order is there.
Now the question is how plan cost of the subcontracting material has to be fetch?.
    Please help me out
    regards,
    mys

    Dear,
While doing subcontracting process the following accounting docs will come
suppose "X" is the finished component
    "A" & "B" are the child components
    the following documents will come
    X - stock BSX( debit)
    off set account X - ( credit)
    service cost FRL (debit)
    while doing with m.type 101
    NEXT
stock account of chaild component A - BSX
off set acount of stock - GBB - VBO(+)
stock account of chaild component B - BSX(-)
off set account of stock - GBB - VBO(-)
while receiving the finished component i.e 543 m.type(raw material consumption account)
Subcontracting handled through external operation in routing i.e Prod.Order>PR>PO>GR>Confirmation of Prod.Order is planned subcontracting which provide the subcontracting cost on order. That cost is loaded on the as actual cost on the order.Which in turn settle on the cost object.
I don't think without production order you will get plann cost.

  • Difference between the planned cost and the target cost

    Hello guys,
I am really confused between the planned cost and the target cost.As Per the sap help target cost is cost required to produce certain quantity of material. And planned cost even carry the same definition.
So is there any difference between these two cost. Are they same?

    Jitendra,
Genarally in CO we will define Target cost is getting calculated in the Production order based on the "Standard Cost Estimate" after GR. Planned costs are calculated based on the current costs.
    Example:
Assumption: Assembly Material A with Standard Price, Component B and Component C is maintained with Moving average
    Material A Cost 1EA = (component B = $10 + Component cost C = $20+ Activity Price $1) = $31, this is the standard cost estimate for the material.
Now I create a production order on 15th of the month, and the Moving average price for component is now $20 due to subsequent GR with higher price. Now the planned cost for the order would be (20201)=$41, whereas the Target cost would be still $31.
Hope I was able to clarify,

  • Report in SAP -cost of the material in different periods

    Hi,
Is there a standard report in SAP which will give me the cost of the material in different periods.
The issue is the material price is changed frequently for a perticular material "X''. I want to have a look at the cost of material in different periods.
I can track the changes from MM03,but the user needs a feasible solution than this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I got the required from MBEWH table.

  • Update of cost in the material master

    Hi all,
From the purchasing point of view,In the normal process Cost in the Material master gets updated from purchasing documnents automatically. In this case, manually if the cost is changed in the purchase order affects the cost in the material master. My requirement is this should be done automatically after receiving the vendors confirmation of list of material costs. There may be chance of change in the cost of the materials.so the costs of the materials which were changed should get updated in the material master automatically(VPRS).
Ie changing of the costs of the materials in the purchase order should be reduced .How this will done??
If we have more than 2000 line items in the purchase order,it will be quite little bit difficult to update each material cost in the purchase order .
    Thanks in advance..
    Regards...VM

    Hi,
Normally material will be valuated with two types of price controls S -standard price and V-moving avaerage price.
A std price as its name indicated it is std and will not chnage.
A moving average price will chnage accordingly with the change in the material price.
Normally it will be better create a info record for the material and vendor combination for the plant or purchase organisation with a info update indicator in the purchase order will serve your pupose .
With the proper settings at SPRO system creates info record during creation of PO if it does not exist or updates the existing record if it has one with the latest price details in the form of last purchasing document so that these details get defaulted during creation of PO.
However you can create a outline aggrement so that a PO can be created with reference to that.
Or you can create a condition record for the price for your combination so that it can get defaulted.
The price which is there in PO will not be defaulted to material master.
Or time to time you can review the prices and maintain via MR21.

  • Planned cost in the project

    Hi,
I have created a project using Assembly processing with strategy 85. The planned cost of the project per month is say Rs 50,000/- The duration of the project/ internal activity is for 6 Months. The scenario is the planned cost is fixed for each month.i.e Rs 50,000/-. I have maintained 'Plan Price for the period' in the costing variant to get planned cost equally distributed over 6 months. But the report shows (S_ALR_87013532) the planned cost is divided over 6 months (Rs 8,333/- for each month)
Could any one help me in resolving the issue.
    Rgds,
    Prasad

    Hai Shrikrishna
Kindly check in the Costing Tab of the Workcenter which u are referring in the Network Activity.
In the Costing u need to maintain the valid Controlling area , Cost center , Act.type.Int.Processing (Key identifying the activity type used in other types of internal processing in costing like networks) and Formula key for costing (Key which refers to the formula used to determine costs per activity type).
Unless these are not maintained cannot get the Actual costs(not planned).
Based on the hours (planned) mentioned in the workcenter , work to be confirmed(CJ20N/CN25/Cn27) to convert the planned hours into costs.
    ENJOY SAP PS.

  • Reverse Planned Costs by the transaction CJ46

I need to reverse planned costs. This process must be carried by transaction CJ46, but don´t works. Just reverse half of the value rather than reverse the total. There is any transaction where i can launch a negative value to pay the charges of structure that are not reversed?
    Thanks.

  • Disintegration of the material while doing GRN

We receive the material in the Container Boxes and charged for the whole box.
Each Box in turn contains 2000 different raw materials in predecided quantity.
How can we establlish a scenarion in which we will do the GRN of the whole Box but the inventory of the 2000 raw materials in the box will get updated as per the predecided quantity.
E.g Each box conatins 3 raw materials (RM1, RM2 and RM3) in quantities as follows
    RM1 --  20 Nos
    RM2 -- 5 Nos
    RM3 -- 1 EA
Now when I do the GRN for the Box my inventory for the Box goes up by 1
    Material    Stock
    Box           1  Ea
    RM1          0  Nos
    RM2          0  Nos
    RM3          0  Ea
Now what to do to convert this one box into different raw materials like following
    Material   Stock
    Box           0   Ea
    RM1          20 Nos
    RM2          5   Nos
    RM3          1  Ea
    regards,
    Akshay

    Jurgen,
We are working in Aerospace industry.
We receive a kit containing all the required 2000 parts for manufacturing a single aircraft.
Our order and prices are dealt in Kits and not in the component parts. So we creat a PO for the required no of Kits and receive the materials as kits. Then we open the kit and store the 2000 components in seperate bins in the stores.
Now to GRN will always be for the X no of Kits. The issue is how to convert this GRN of X no of kits into proportinate no of components, so that we can monitor the inventory of the components.
Currently we do it manually. We are now switching to SAP. How to handle the same in SAP now??
    regards,
    Akshay

  • Fixed & Variable cost of the Material at CK11N

    Hello Experts,
Before posting this thread, i have gone through several threads about my query.  Still I have a doubt.
Material Cost always should be Variable.  Cost Component Structure OKTZ also the Inventory Valuation would be Variable Cost as per as Std SAP.
But where as the Raw Material Price control would be "S" & the Cost Component Structure of OKTZ having Inventory Valuation Fixed + Variable Cost then what would be the effect..?
I have run a SCE for a Material & both Material having standard price 140.6 & 1.09. Then how come the Fixed Value shows here as 10.37 & 0.9 & How can it be divided into Total & Fixed Value..?
    Regards
    Raj

    Dear Raj,
Please check the following settings in OKTZ:
    Materials are of 3 types:
    Finished: Valuation (Fixed + Variable)
    Semi Finished:Valuation (Fixed + Variable)
    Raw Materials: Variable
Why Inventory Valuation (Fixed + Variable) for Finished Goods:
It contains material price as well as overheads.
Overheads may contain fixed portion also in addition to variable nature.
So Finished goods valuation should be (Fixed + Variable).
For Raw materials valuation  should always variable:
You can make the settings in OKTZ as mentioned below:
Please check these settings and change the settings accordingly.
    Hope this will helps you.

  • Restricting the Material while purchasing

    Hi All,
I have classified all my Raw Materials into 1 Material Type -ROH.
I have classified Purchasing group as P01 as Raw materials which will be exclusively taking care of Purchasing Raw Materials.
We have classified Purchasing organizations as 1 Central Purchase Org & 2 Plant Specific Purchase Organizations.
Now, I want to restrict one Raw material from Procurement for say Plant specific purchasing organization.
    How to address this ?
    Reg
    Sunil

    HI
I don't think this can be achieved with your suggestion of activating  Plant-Specific Material Status.
    Anyways, Thank You.

  • Planned cost correct in value category, problem in actual cost after GI

    Hi,
I have maintained cost elements for value categories for material. The cost comes correctly under value category. After doing good issue of this material. The cost comes in maintenance order actual cost. But it does not appear under value category expected (it should fall in same value category as planned cost). Please suggest on this.
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi,
The value category / cost elements combination is corret & this is the reason why the cost comes in proper value category in planned cost when the material is reserved.
But when the material is issued, it does not come in same value category under actual cost head.
I believe there are no different settings for planned cost & actual cost related to value category & cost element.
In my understanding, if the cost comes in planned cost then it should come in same value category in actual cost.
Please correct if I am wrong.
    Thanks

  • S_ALR_87013532 report -plan cost not rolling upto the WBS/Project level

    Dear All,
Plan cost from production orders is not rolling up to the WBS/Project level in S_ALR_87013532 ( Plan/Actual Variance report).
Where as plan cost from network is properly rolling up to the WBS/Project level in the above report.
Please suggest what could be the reason for this issue. Is any configuration needs to be done for this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vishal

    Dear sir,
Thanks for the reply & sorry for late response from my side.
OPSV settings are already maintained in our system.
Some how i realized  later that cost are actaully getting rolled to the WBS level, but we have observed one more discrepancy.
    Example -
    Production order "X" value - 100 (  as seen through co03)
Production order "X"value- 40 ( as seen through report s_alr_87013532).
We found that  in report  s_alr_87013532 , although my total  producton order value of 100 is represented at the WBS /Project level, but at the production order level , it is showing value of 40.
On further analysis we found that for production order X
    Materail cost- 60
    Labour cost-40
The material cost of 60  is not getting fetched against production order "X" in report " S_ALR_87013532".
There are very few cases , where such discrepancy is seen.
    Kindly suggest.
    Regards,
    Vishal
