Plan cost in the costing variant

Hello,Experts,
I have one problem in controlling .I have Finish product which is produced through subcontracting.
i have maintained Special procurement key 30(subcontracting) in the material master.
I have produced material through subcontracting only (first P.O & then by MIGO).
No Production Order is there.
Now the question is how plan cost of the subcontracting material has to be fetch?.
Please help me out

Dear,
While doing subcontracting process the following accounting docs will come
suppose "X" is the finished component
"A" & "B" are the child components
the following documents will come
X - stock BSX( debit)
off set account X - ( credit)
service cost FRL (debit)
while doing with m.type 101
NEXT
stock account of chaild component A - BSX
off set acount of stock - GBB - VBO(+)
stock account of chaild component B - BSX(-)
off set account of stock - GBB - VBO(-)
while receiving the finished component i.e 543 m.type(raw material consumption account)
Subcontracting handled through external operation in routing i.e Prod.Order>PR>PO>GR>Confirmation of Prod.Order is planned subcontracting which provide the subcontracting cost on order.That cost is loaded on the as actual cost on the order.Which in turn settle on the cost object.
I don't think without production order you will get plann cost.

Non Stock Item in Component MO to plan costs

Dear all,
Currently we have a problem regarding the display of plan costs in Maintenance Orders (MO).
We will be using the non stock item in the component part of the MO.
These non stock items will be maintained with standard setting.
The problem is that these non stock items costs are not shown in the display of costs in MO.
We have checked the plan costing variant for the MO, and nothing seems to be wrong.
One thing to note though, the actual costs when the PO is GR-ed are shown in the correct value category.
Please kindly suggest me on where to check on this matter.

Actual costing variant

We can define plan costing variant as well as actual costing variant. I know that plan costing variant is used for costing run for the material to update standard cost. Then, where do we use the actual costing variant and what is its purpose ?

No Plan costing is not for calculating standard costing for a material. Both Plan COsting & Actual Costing are used in Production or Proces order scenario. Plan Costing is used to calculate the Preliminary Cost of the Prod. Order after it has been created. It can be & usually is different from Standard Cost Estimate which in Production order scenario is Target Cost. Actual Cost in a Prod. Order is calculated based on Actual Costing variant configuration & its comparison with target cost will give us variance, WIP.

The additive cost can not display on the work order plan cost

dear friends
first i run the ck74n for the additive cost ,second i run the ck11n for cost estimate ,i can see that the additive cost update to the standard cost successfully ,at last i run the ck24 mark and release the standard cost,but when i raise a work order ,i can not see the additive cost in the plan cost ,i do not know the reason ,do you have some suggestion

This behaviour is expected and standard...
In Std cost estimate, you have the option of inputting components manually in CK74N... But the actual costs in Prod order will come either from Material issues/Activity Confirmations or manual postings from FI... There is no option to enter additive costs in actuals.. Hence, there is no option of "additive costs" in the Planned costng variant of Prod order
If you enter any additive costs in CK11N, It is done because you cant estimate it through Qty Structure.. But, during actuals, the actual costs are all available through Material issues/Activity Confirmations.. hence, the additive costs does not apply here

Planned cost in the project

Hi,
I have created a project using Assembly processing with strategy 85. The planned cost of the project per month is say Rs 50,000/- The duration of the project/ internal activity is for 6 Months. The scenario is the planned cost is fixed for each month.i.e Rs 50,000/-. I have maintained 'Plan Price for the period' in the costing variant to get planned cost equally distributed over 6 months. But the report shows (S_ALR_87013532) the planned cost is divided over 6 months (Rs 8,333/- for each month)
Could any one help me in resolving the issue.

Kindly check in the Costing Tab of the Workcenter which u are referring in the Network Activity.
In the Costing u need to maintain the valid Controlling area , Cost center , Act.type.Int.Processing (Key identifying the activity type used in other types of internal processing in costing like networks) and Formula key for costing (Key which refers to the formula used to determine costs per activity type).
Unless these are not maintained cannot get the Actual costs(not planned).
Based on the hours (planned) mentioned in the workcenter , work to be confirmed(CJ20N/CN25/Cn27) to convert the planned hours into costs.

Report for extracting the actual and planned cost from service orders

HI all
we are creating a report in BI for Module - Customer service . LIke , the report is all about how many complaints created in the system and how many completed technically and what is the cost involved for each complaint .
Like we want the comparision between the planned cost and the actual cost .
Now to give the logic to the BI Team for planned cost and actual cost , please suggest the flow of logic or table flow to arrive the planned and actual cost

Hi Marthand,
I am not sure which datasource your are using. In this case, you can use the 0VALUETYPE to differencitae between th eplan and actuals. Normally Plan which is budget will have value 050 and for actuals will have 010. For costs, you will have one key figure and at the reporting level, you will have the costs restricted by the value type for plan and actual to make comparisons.

S_ALR_87013532 report -plan cost not rolling upto the WBS/Project level

Dear All,
Plan cost from production orders is not rolling up to the WBS/Project level in S_ALR_87013532 ( Plan/Actual Variance report).
Where as plan cost from network is properly rolling up to the WBS/Project level in the above report.
Please suggest what could be the reason for this issue. Is any configuration needs to be done for this.

Thanks for the reply & sorry for late response from my side.
OPSV settings are already maintained in our system.
Some how i realized later that cost are actaully getting rolled to the WBS level, but we have observed one more discrepancy.
Example -
Production order "X" value - 100 ( as seen through co03)
Production order "X"value- 40 ( as seen through report s_alr_87013532).
We found that in report s_alr_87013532 , although my total producton order value of 100 is represented at the WBS /Project level, but at the production order level , it is showing value of 40.
On further analysis we found that for production order X
Materail cost- 60
Labour cost-40
The material cost of 60 is not getting fetched against production order "X" in report " S_ALR_87013532".
There are very few cases , where such discrepancy is seen.

Is there any way to have an ipad wifi 3G but not use the 3G (therefore avoiding the extra data plan costs) and just use the wifi?

i am looking to buy an ipad 2 or the new ipad (preferably 32gb) but dont want to buy the 3G version as i have unlimited data usage in my mobile phone plan, i know the wifi only ipad is generally cheaper, but i was wondering if there was a way to buy the ipad with 3G capabilities but not use the 3G and avoid the cost of paying the extra unnecessary data plan? Difference in the Material variant BOM Qty during Standard Cost estimation

We are trying to estimate the cost for the material variant, but the BOM exploded
during the cost estimation, the quantity differs slightly with the BOM exploded
during CU50.
What might be the reasons for difference.

Dear Mr.Kumar,
For any material in the material master , for Price
Control indicator in Accounting 1 View we can either
maintain S or V.
For In House Manufactured materials we maintain S
(Standard price) & for Sub contracted or bought out
items we maintain V(Moving Average price).
During cost roll up & release as far I know we cant
split like 70 & 30% and we can do the costing.
So either you have to use the moving average price for
both inhouse & bought out.
Because 1 material cant have both standard price &
Moving Average price.
Because bought out item's doesnot have standard price.
If your vendor is ready to give the material(Finished
product) using the same amount which you spend for
producing inhouse,then no issue,you can use
standard price.But Practically it doesn't occur.
I hope this will help to clear your doubt.

Inclusion of planned cost to the material while Invoicing

Hi Everyone,
We are facing a problem, kindly guide me to solve it:
We are purchasing 'X' Material (split valuated) through a Purchase Order in which we did not provide any planned cost.
But after GR we came to know that planned cost should also have been entered in the PO. But in the PO, while creation we did not select any planned cost line for the item. So after approval of PO and GR, we were not able to enter any planned cost.
Now while adding up planned cost during Invoicing through MIRO, we are facing an error message:
Error saving valuation data for material P1S002 0002
Message no. M8829
Diagnosis
Error occurred when the system tried to save the valuation data.
Please guide me how to do invoicing by including the planned cost and booking the planned cost in the material.

After releasing production order all primary and secondary costs get attached to the order.
You can see planned cost in Tcode:CO02>>>>Goto>>>>>>>Costs>>>Analysis>>>under cost trend layput.

Be careful, CJ40 write planning cost on RPSCO and BPJA (or BPGE, BPPE).
You can test if you just post on BPJA if you try an CJ02 and select WBS, go on simulation cost screen. You watch 'zero' on the planning cost (ANIA and ANIB table)...
Use MF
KBPV_POST_JA for BPJA and
HFPT_BPIF_RPSCO for RPSCO.

Looking for a reason to stay with Verizon as my monthly plan cost has increased dramatically in the past year. Forced to change plan at last upgrade, and lines that used to be $10/mo are now $30/mo. I cannot afford this any longer.

When I last upgraded, I was told that my current plan (unlimited data was no longer an option) was obsolete. I had to go with the family plan and choose a data plan. Also, the non-smartphones on the account are now $30/mo rather than $10 as they used to be. The cost of service has increased dramatically in the last 18 months. Why, when other services are offering unlimited data and less expensive monthly lines, does Verizon not offer this to at the very least, long-time, loyal customers?

However his reply was 100% spot on. You may not like his answer but not liking it does not change the accuracy of it.
If you purchased at full price the unlimited data would have stayed.
But when people say upgrade they normally mean a free phone or greatly reduced phone with a two year contract.
The plan change was not necessary unless you purchased smart phones. If you were buying clam shell basic phones only then no plan changes should have been done.
You had 14 days to back out of the deal. Because you did not do so does not mean Verizon did not explain all your options.
You can port out and have Sprint or T-Mobile refund your early termination fees. I read this morning AT&T is also doing this on a limited basis.
Or you can go to Boost mobile or Net10 or Cricket prepaid all you can eat unlimited talk, text and data.
Also look at consumer cellular they may be just what you need.
They range from $10 to $50 check them out.

According to the costing logic described in R/3 library the following strategies are available for costs when using task based controlling.
Costs for task
4.      Different costs which you entered for the task
5.      Costs per activity unit for the task in Customizing
Costs for roles
8.      Different costs which you entered for the project role
9.      Costs per activity unit for the role in Customizing
10.      Plan price for the role in cost center accounting
Do anyone have experience with using strategy 10? If so, please elaborate.

Thanks for your reply, Standalone cProjects works, but obviuosly it has to be integrated with ECC and configuration related to accounting in ERP has to be done.
Scenario is that I have created a Project and before transferring it to ECC(creation of internal order) I should be able to calculate the cost from cProjects, as these are just rough cost based on cost/revenue rate.Later when I calculate cost using internal order from ECC it should overwite.
Additionally as per the link I have already done the required configuration.

         defined RFC destination . Is webserver to be defined - required ?

        I havent maintained Organisation unit as it takes default 'zero'.

7.     Make Settings in ERP System
        Make settings in ERP system related to controlling
        Create and Change Controlling Scenario
        Define Controlling Scenario
        Settings for Easy Cost Planning
Assign Cost Elements and Activity Types > Activity type must be open for period and must have proper cost element. (can be maintained in tcode: KP26).
Then also for Task based costing is not calculating and for role based it is showing Negative.
Please guide me where it is going wrong.Is it related to Organisational Mapping?

I create a service order from a service Notification,in the service order , I assign a work center, activity type and work to Operations,however I can't get the plan cost in the Costs tab, when I use the T-code:IW42 confirm the service order, It can get this actual cost!
