Camera sound is there even when device is in silent mode ?

Camera sound is there even when device is in silent mode?

Possibly. It depends on what country the phone is from. In some countries, phones are required to make a shutter noise even in silent mode.

  • How can I ensure an app will play audio even when phone is in silent mode

Am looking at deploying a third party app, but I want to ensure that the app's built in notification system will notify on the user's iphone, even if the user has set the phone to silent mode.
In the Android world <gasp!> there is an app called CritiCall. In the Apple world, I have found no such equivalent. And honestly I want a control that supports the app's usage of device functions, not individual device functions.
MEM solutions don't seem to fill this bill either. Any suggestions out there?

Ask the app's developer or try it for yourself before deploying it.

clicking sound comes on my iphone 4 while taking photos even when iphone is in silence mode...Please help me out to solve my problem

The iPhone has a 1 year warranty. Restore the phone in iTunes with the latest iOS to remove the 'gray market'. You will then have to send it to your close friend, at your expense, to take it back to the Apple store in Toronto to have the phone looked at. Then your close friend will need to send the phone back to you, at your expense.
I would also sudggest that you send your friend a sim from your carrier in India. This way after it is fixed/replaced he can try the sim at the Apple store to ensure that it is unlocked.
    Good luck.

  • No sound from my Macbook Air. When I go to system preferences and click on Sound Output there are no devices to select from and the Mute box is checked.

There is no sound from my Macbook Air even when I turn it on.  When I go to System Preferences and click on Output there are no options.  The Mute box is also checked, but I cannot uncheck it.  Also when I try to play any video from the web, it stops playing after a second or so.  I have turned off my computer and turned it on again which did not help.

This is what happens when i have multipel artboards and i align to center, some of the artboard have this white space, even when the artworks themselvs fit perfectly.
when i move the artboard, so does the white space
another funny thing is when i align to center of artboard the art is my mask moves so the art is simply not in center anymore.
last but not least, even then the smartguides tells me it is aligned with the other box, it looks fine and all but when i let go to place it, it moves down under or above.. and both of lines have been exported, Align to Pixel Grid is off, i have uncheck align new objects to pixel grid and unchecked the all snap to..
Anybody knows what is going on?

I don't understand the problem. Please post the complete screenshot. And possibly the outline view.

  • Why cant i unistall apps when device is in "supervised" mode

Using an iPad 3 with iOS 6 isntalled.  When the device in configured via the "Apple Configurator", I am unable to uninstall any apps (whether or not they are installed with my iTunes account.)  I do not have any "Payloads" being sent to the device that have restrictions configured.  The only thing I am configuring is a Web Clip that navigates to our registration page for our MDM software.
Can anyone provide some insight into what I could be dealing with?

Correct, from what I've figured out so far (and a work mate contacting our apple rep), I think it's a bug thats putting the "no deletion restriction" on. Our Apple rep said that when you turn on supervision mode, it shouldn't be adding any restrictions.
So far I've sucessfully turned off iMessage (huge step forward) on a couple iPads. The only problem is, if they remove our Casper/JAMF MDM profile, they get iMessage back (huge step backwards). There REALLY needs to be a way to password protect the MDM profiles or at least send profiles out that are password protected.
As to having to restore, you are correct. "Technically", you're not allowed to restore a non-supervised backup to a supervised device (according to Apple Configurator). Though it seems that by doing it through iCloud gets around that issue. I haven't tested going from a supervised backup to unsupervised device.

  • When phone is on silent mode, my vibrate feature is not working....any suggestions?

When I put my phone on silent mode, the vibrate feature is not longer working....any suggestions?

If it's a software issue and your settings are correct then the next step would be to restore your phone to new. Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings If it's the switch itself then try moving it back and forth several times. Perhaps there's a bit of pocket lint or dirt preventing a good contact. If that doesn't work then you'll have to take the phone into an authorized Apple repair centre or Apple store and have it checked out.

  • Error when running netca in silent mode

I found a type-o in Oracle's documentation for running netca in silent mode. See link:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/html/B10811_05/app_nonint.htm#BABJFJID
There is a line that reads:
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/netca /silent /responsefile=/local_dir/netca.rsp
    However, it should read:
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/netca /silent /responsefile /local_dir/netca.rsp
Hope this saves you all lots of headaches!

Are you logging on as root? Are you SU'ing to Oracle or trying to run as riit?
Try logging out - all the way out. Don't stop there, you need to log ALL the way out.
And then log in as user Oracle.
Logging in as root causes all sorts of headaches. Only SU to root, and then only when you absolutely need it.
Now that you have logged out of root, and logged in (not just su'd) to oracle, what happens??

  • IPhone 3GS Camera Crashes iOS 4.3 When Device Used In Cold Weather

I was in Chicago today where the weather was in the low 40's (high 20s with the windchill). As I was sightseeing and using my iPhone to shoot casual snapshots, the OS completely crashed when I was trying to take the picture. My iPhone has never crashed for any reason, but I shrugged it off and then restarted the device. I took two more pictures, and then the phone again crashed on the third picture. After another restart, the phone started crashing every time I took a picture without exception.
Fearing the worst that my phone was about to die on me while on a business trip, I headed back to the car and headed for the hotel. As I was driving back, I got to thinking that my phone has never been in weather this cold before (I'm from California). As soon as I got to my room, I put the camera beneath the heating vent and allowed it to warm up. Once it felt like it was room temperature, I picked it up and started shooting pictures to see if I could get it to crash again. After forty pictures, it was still working.
Are there any known issues with the camera sensor on the iPhone 3GS in cold weather? Another poster from Eastern Europe seems to be having the same problem with the same model phone:

  • I recently used Bluetooth speaker with my iPhone 4S  Now I  am unable to listen to music through headphones Iphone speakers, even when device is no longer recognised by phone.

    Please advise

    Hey Jennymagee,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with your iPhone 4s. The following resource may provide a solution:
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
    1. Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
    2. Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
    3. If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
    4. Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
    5. If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
    6. If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
              - Try turning off Bluetooth.
              - If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    7. Restart the iPhone.
    8. If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
    9. If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, please contact Apple Support.
If the issue persists, please follow the last step by contacting Apple Support for support and service options.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • TS1574 I have a MacBook in which the in speaker mutes automatically for few seconds and the sound comes back. even when I am not playing any kind of video or audio the speaker icon on the on the dock shows the speaker muting and coming back. how can I res

the speaker of my macbook mutes all at a sudden for few seconds automatically and comes back even the speaker icon which is on top right side of the computer also shows mute at this point. and when the volume of the speaker is pressed at this moment it shows locked symbol of the speaker. Kindly help how to resolve this. I am not sure but recently I did install leopard to upgrade my computer does this effect the problem with my speaker.

This is all most unfortunate...from what I read in your post you have covered everything that can be done at your end....something is damaged on the Logic Board it sounds like...as to how much it would cost only the people that end repairing will know after it is diagnosed....take it in...tell them what you have found and tried so far...maybe that will help narrow down the problem...
    Good Luck....

  • I was updating to 3.6.13 and it was almost finished and it paused on its own and is now stuck there even when I turn my computer off and turn it back on. It doesn' t respond when I hit the resume button. What do I do?

I got a message screen telling me I needed to update to the latest firefox version. So I proceeded to update to 3.6.13. The update window said it was almost finished with just a few seconds remaining. It was taking a very long time when it got to that point so I minimized that screen and went to do something else. My computer kept freezing up so I went back to the update window to see how it was coming along and noticed it had paused, I tried to hit the resume button but it didn't work. I turned my computer off and turned it back on hoping that I could just start the update over but the same message was there when I went to try to update again. It still said it was almost finished with the previous update and that it was paused. What do I do to correct this?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Camera Flash stuck ON, even when powered off

Got an iPhone 4 last weekend. I took a few photos with the camera app and somehow the flash LED is now stuck "on". All the time. I can switch it to camera mode or video mode and it stays on. I turn the phone off (holding down the On/Off button and Slide to Power Off) and the LED stays on. I reset the phone (Settings/General/Reset/Reset all settings) and it is still on. Selecting any of "Off/Auto/On" in the upper left of the camera screen changes the text to "Off", "Auto", or "On" appropriately, but the LED stays on. The only way I can affect the output of the LED is to select "On" in video mode, which makes it brighter. Selecting "Off" again makes it less bright.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I just got an iPhone 4 today and by the time I got it home (hadn't called anyone or used it at all yet) the light was on before I even got it out of the box. I turned it off... hard reset... downloaded a flashlight app (which made it dim after turning it on and off once but it doesn't go away) ... Pretty much the same issues everyone above is having...
Any input on this would be great... Thanks and goodluck!
