Can contacts related to different accounts have different information ?

Hi,
The requirement is many contacts can be related to many accounts. This is possible , I know. But since one contact is on more than one account , the contact information related to each account should be different. For eg. contact C1 has a different job title for account A1 and a different job title for account A2. How can this be acheived? The Accounts related list in Contacts has the provision for 'Contact Role' . Is it possible to have more fields like that, custom or standard ? It would serve the purpose.

At this time "Contact Role" is the only field available. I would recommend that you submit a enhancement request to CRM On Demand customer care.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
    For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

    Sundar, you could create two web applets under the account object and create a report active contacts and another report for inactive contacts. If you do this then hide the standard contacts related section.

    If you enabled the "Find My iPhone" feature prior to the device being lost, go to iCloud.com, sign in and select the locate option.
    If you did not enable the feature prior to the device being lost then you are basically out of luck.

    The iTunes and iCloud accounts are different accounts, check that you are not both using the same iCloud account at settings > iCloud.

  • Mail.. two different accounts have mixed... help!

    Here is my problem... my pop account & .mac account have combined. Now, when I log onto my main mail ( pop ) it is in the .mac forum. I can receive mail but can not send any. I talked with my server tech for 1 hr & half, their settings are all correct. I did not upgrade to Leopard. Has anyone had this type problem. My crisis started yesterday morning (12/22).

    So, for whatever reason, it cannot send mail through the pop account's SMTP server. That is why it is asking you if you want to try to send the message using another (.mac's) SMTP server instead.
    Things to check: In Mail | Preferences | Accounts, for the troublemaker account, are you certain that the selected smtp server being shown in the pull-down menu is the correct one for the account, and that there are no typos or anything (if authenticated smtp, your smtp server name would look like mailout......com:lconley)?
    Click on the SMTP Server Settings button. What port number are you using? Is the SSL checkbox checked? What is the type of authentication? Username correct? Try leaving password blank for now, once eliminated here and in Keychain Access (see 2nd following paragraph), it will add back in in both places if you check the "Save to Keychain" checkbox
    Try searching your email provider's web site and see if you can find a link to directions to setting up your mail account that addresses the above issues. See if what is printed there jibes with what they told you over the phone and more importantly if it jibes with what you have entered in your smtp server setup.
    If you make any changes here, go back into Keychain Access and delete any entries that pertain to that email account's SMTP server before you try sending email again.
    One last thing to try, maybe. Is the email account from somebody other than your ISP (i.e., 3rd party)? And if so, might your ISP be blocking your traffic destined for smtp servers other than one of their own? That might be a likely cause if you are currently trying to use port 25. Many ISPs block port 25 traffic that is not destined for their server. You can check this by launching Terminal.app and typing telnet mailout......com 25. Substitute whatever port number your email provider said you should be using; 465, 587, being typical ones besides 25. You should see something that reads similar to this:
    Trying {some.numeric.IP.address}.
    Connected to mailout......com.
    Escape character is '^]'.
    220 {domain name of some sort} ESMTP 
    Do a control-right bracket to get to a telnet > prompt, and type quit followed by <return> to exit
    If you don't see any of that stuff, and instead just get a timeout message, then I would claim that either you are using the wrong smtp port number or your ISP is blocking traffic on that port.

    Welcome to the Support Communities!
    The article below explains how your Apple ID can be used for different services.  If the majority of your iTunes purchases are on one of your Apple ID's -- you can sign out of the iTunes Store and sign back in using that Apple ID and password.  You can continue to use your other Apple ID to keep all of your data separate for iCloud, etc.
    The other option is to use your own Apple ID for iTunes AND iCloud.  If you have separate User accounts on your computer, then you could each build your own iTunes library.  Review the article below and decide which option is best for you.

    I believe that we may have a GPO replication problem. Different PCs in the same OU report different settings as displayed by gpresult.exe. It looks like some PCs are getting old versions of the GPO.
    I did some digging,and found a utility called gpotool.exe from the 2003 reskit.
    (Our DCs are all 2008R2 running at a 2003 functional level. Two sites, well-connected by 20 Gb links.)
    After considerable searching, I have been unable to find any explanation of the errors anywhere. In fact, the tool has little documentation anywhere. The error messages look like this:

    get-gpo. Sadly, this utility does not retrieve any size information. What it does highlight however is that the GPOs have different modification times on different DCs.
    In most cases, the time stamps differ by less than an hour, but a very few GPOs differ by several days.
    My questions:
    Is it normal to have different modification times on different DCs?
    Is the report from gptool.exe valid, or should i ignore it?

    This is an FRS issue. Have you looked for issues/errors regarding FRS? The GPO time stamps are a symptom of this problem. 
    1. There is a GPOTOOL.exe for 2008+ that MS never officially released. It works on my domain. I can publish it to a DropBox public folder if you are interested.
    2. Or you could stand up a Win8 box and install RSAT tools and load the GPMSC console. It has WONDERFUL tools that address this very issue. It has the GPOTool "built in" among other nice things.

    Each device will ONLY sync what you select.
    Just do not select the apps that you do not want.  Only select the apps that you do want.

    I have a different apple ID than I have on other things.  I'm not sure why, but I wasn't very savvy about apple when I set it up.  Is this a problem?  I have constant problems with my contacts not syncing properly between imac, ipad and iphone.  Contacts are constantly disappearing.  Is this the reason?

    Try checking Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) to be sure it's set to iCloud.  This will ensure that new contacts are added to iCloud and not Hotmail.  Then go to icloud.com to confirm that your contacts are in your iCloud account.  Assuming they are, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then after a minute or so turn Contacts back to On.  This will cause your iCloud contacts to reappear on your phone.  This process of disconnecting your contacts from iCloud, then reconnecting again may cure your iCloud syncing issues.
    Add a new test contact to your phone to confirm that it syncs properly with your contacts on icloud.com and your other devices.  Assuming it does, you can delete it again.  Hopefully things will stay fixed.
