Can't install Reader "Already installed"
So I had a problem with Reader where it gave me an error message saying ReaderSomething.msi (I don't really remember the name) could not be found. So I tried to uninstall reader to then install it again. Though when I tried to uninstall, some files did not want to be removed, in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Resource\CMap\ Identity-H and Identity-V. I tried to remove them myself, but for some reason they, or the map Reader 11.0 cannot be removed. I tried to re-install Reader by downloading the latest ver from the website, but when I tried to install it says that reader already is installed, but it isn't. This is very annoying. I have tried to remove every single reader file, including the ones in ProgramData. But still it says reader is already installed. A screenshot won't help, because it's just the installer that says ☑ Already installed
What do I do to make this work? I am using Windows 7 64-bit.
A simple batch, well why didn't I think of that myself...
A slight edit of the file could work for future problems too..
@echo off
@setlocal enableextensions
@cd /d "%~dp0"
echo.
echo Please paste the full key path.
set /p key=
subinacl /subkeyreg %key% /setowner=users
subinacl /subkeyreg %key% /grant=users=F
subinacl /subkeyreg %key% /setowner=administrators
subinacl /subkeyreg %key% /grant=administrators=f
reg DELETE %key% /va /f
cls
echo.
echo Key deleted.
pause
exit
Not sure if that would work though...
Anyways, thank you very much. The file deleted the key (though it's still shown in the registry, but who gives a damn) I could install Reader and it works perfectly!
And I must say, thanks again for the fast and great support!

Windows XP SP3
I had a problem printing an invoice from
a vendor and it was suggested that we should have the most current versions on the
Adobe software installed. I un-installed Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) and Adobe Flash Player and
any other Adobe product. When I bring up the add/remove programs screen, it shows that
Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) is installed and that the update cannot be removed.
When I try to re-install, I get the error that Adobe Reader X is already installed, even though it
has been removed from the registry.
What can I do to get Adobe Reader X re-installed??This is basically the same problem that double0eight is having.
Not all of Adobe Reader X (10.0.1) gets uninstalled. There is one program that is left that says that it cannot be uninstalled.
If this is the case, how can anyone re-install Adobe Reader X?? Now I am really stuck unless I use another software product.
Does anyone have any idea on hwo Adobe Reader X can be un-installed?
Thanks. -
Can't find font already installed in System.
OS: Windows 7
Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro
I'm creating a new form and I can't choose a specific font (already installed on the system) for a text field; the font I need to use is "Gotham-Book" (placed under the Gotham family in the font library in the Windows Fonts folder), when displaying the available fonts in the Appearance tab on the Text Field Properties, the only "Gotham-type" fonts displayed are "Gotham" and "Gotham Italic" as shown below:
Also important, when using the TouchUp Text tool, the dialog box DOES let me choose all the installed fonts on the system, including the "Gotham-Book" font that I need for the text field:
My question is, why does Acrobat can't work with the same font library in all of it's actions? Here is what I see on mine. Do you not see this? You can't see it while actively editing text.

AAM Wants to install apps already installed
I have a full subscription, and everything is working fine, accept AAM says that InDesign and Photoshop are not installed. I ignored it for a while, but it is kind of annoying so I let it try to reinstall them, and got an Installation failed message. So I quit the AAM and restarted it, and was told there was a new version available. Sounded promising, so I installed that - but it still shows Photoshop CC and InDesign as uninstalled.
Interestingly, those two apps were already installed as Photoshop CS6 and InDesign CS5.5, but I also have Premiere Pro CS6 installed and the AAM sees Premiere Pro CC s installed.
So, can I force the AAM to rescan my c drive and find Photoshop and InDesign CC are already installed? It's just a wee bit annoying, but it seems to me that if it does not think those two apps are installed, it won't tell me when updates are available. Are you on Windows or Mac OS X?
CC, CS6 and CS5.5 are all different major versions.
Do you want all of these versions installed or just the latest CC versions?
Uninstall InDesign and Photoshop from the Control Panel on Windows or from the links under Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers on Mac OS X. Then reinstall from the Creative Cloud application (updated version of AAM) and things should be fine. If you want the CS6 versions you will need to select them from the Download Center page at https://creative.adobe.com/products. -
OIM91 Weblogic Install: Cannot Install because already installed
I am attempting to install OIM 9.1 with Java 142_15 for Weblogic 8.1 SP6 server.
When I get to the server input information, after I press next, it gives the following error:
"Oracle identity Manager Installer has found that Oracle Identity Manager is already installed on specified BEA Weblogic."
Here is what our env looks like:
We have 1 instance of OIM on JBoss (we have since removed)
We are installing into a brand new DB.
We have never installed OIM on Weblogic before
The Weblogic server being installed on is brand new
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks-Also, see Note:457067.1
Bug No. 5568196
When a environment variable with string 'Xellerate' is set on a machine, the
OIM 9011 installer will fail to install OIM. A message is shown that OIM is
already installed and installer will not move forward beyond the screen where
admin server, managed server names and ports are entered (incase of
weblogic).
This should either be documented or the check shouldn't be made during the
installation. -
Can Adobe X Reader be installed in Windows Embedded Standard SP3?
Can Reader X be installed on WES on a Thin client?
Are you adding this as a package or a separate installer? Does the driver install after OS deployment?
Try adding other Epson printer packages to the image. This could help pull in the necessary resources that might be needed.

FF 18.01 will not print-Says printer needs to be installed. Already installed
When I go print a page from a website, The error message states that there is no printer do you want to install a printer.
1- System shows that there is a printer, it works.
2- Nothing happens if say yes (install)Funky, it isn' the HP Printer. I have had the same problem with Firefox v 12-18 (which is why I don't use Firefox...would really like to use firefox.) I have RESET PRINTER till I'm blue in the face. I have used HP, Samsung, Brother, and Epson printers that all print in IE explorer just fine, but won't print in firefox. I have had three different firewalls as well. So if someone has a clue other than to RESET PRINTER, please give it a shot......and by the way, I can't find "print.print_printer" in Config either. There is a "print_printer" but nothing else. I post this same problem every year, but no one seems to have an answer.......so I go back to IE explorer - yuck. Please, please don't tell me to RESET PRINTER.........

Re-install all already installed packages
Is there an easy way to do this with pacman? Lights went out and I can't identify three libraries linked at lost+found.
Thank you!If everything you've installed is from a repo, this will do it:
pacman -S $(pacman -Q | cut -d " " -f 1 | tr "n" " ")
If you have installed anything locally, it will abort on each one:
foo-pkg: not found in sync db
so you'll need to remove them from the list and reinstall them separately.
I expect someone else will be along shortly with a smarter solution. -
Patch Manager lists patches i already installed... help!
Update Manager is still showing 173 patches which i already installed on May 20th.
The "Installed Patches" section is showing 0 patches.
I am Running Solaris 10 on x86 Dual Xeon
Once all the patches were applied I linked 2 folders off to *{color:#0000ff}/export/home{color}* to save space on the root drive...
but as far as i was aware this should not make a difference.
Below you can see my {color:#0000ff}*/var/sadm*{color} folder

Has anyone any ideas how i can get Update Manager back to normal?

When downloading a pdf file I get a message that I must download Adobe Reader. When I do that I am told that it is already installed. Why can't I use it if it's already installed. I-Mac OsX 9.3

I was able to fix the problem with some help from Apple. Whenever I last downloaded Reader, I apparently didn’t complete the process by accepting the Reader contract. I was able to go right to that point in the process and complete the installation. The messages that I needed Reader but it was already installed were quite confusing. It would have been nice if the Adobe installation process that I was re-trying this morning had been able to detect a partial installation. The Troubleshooting page almost had me doing some ridiculous things that wouldn’t have helped.

Hi,
I've been using the new Adobe Creative Cloud 2014 for a couple weeks now perfectly fine, until yesterday. I use Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects quite extensively. This morning, I opened the Adobe CC app and all but Adobe Acrobat Pro show installed. The other already installed apps have buttons to "install" but clicking this button shows the "Exit Code: 7 - Unable to complete Silent workflow" error in the logs. Ive tried disabling my Sophos antivirus program and restarted several times. The already installed applications themselves seem to function normally, they open and work projects. I've even tried to uninstall one of the already installed programs (Bridge) and it fails to uninstall, saying I need to restart my computer and disengage my anti-virus, which I've done. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Adobe CC app as well, and have the same result. Help.So I've completed the solutions listed in the help article with no changes. Here is how it has gone with each solution listed in the article. Also, it is not clear in the article whether these steps are to be done in sequence or may solve the problem individually, but since Solution 1 fails for me, doing them in sequence was impossible.
Solution 1: Mac OS: Run the uninstaller in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder to remove the program listed as up-to-date.
This does not work because uninstalling any of these applications does not work. As I stated in the post, the uninstaller for all of my adobe applications (photoshop, bridge, indesign etc) throws the same error each time saying I need to: restart my computer (done) close all applications (done) and disable my antivirus (done, which was fully engaged when I installed the apps originally with no issue) and disable my firewall (done, I don't use one). Not sure what I'm missing on that, plus its a real bummer that I need to reinstall all of my CC apps even if the uninstaller did work because my creative cloud app won't recoginize they've been installed.
Solution 2: Remove the OPM.db file and relogin into the Creative Cloud desktop application using the Adobe ID tied to your subscription.
This did nothing.
Solution 3: Download and install the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app from Creative Cloud for desktop.
This did nothing.
Solution 4: See the steps listed in Solution 1 to remove all installed Adobe Creative software. Once all Adobe Creative software has been removed, use the CS Cleaner Tool to ensure a complete removal. You can find details in Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6.
This did not do much because I can't uninstall the software to begin with.
What am I missing? -
Can't update quicktime on windows xp. I have 7.3.1 and when I try to install 7.7.3 it says I have a newer version already installed??? Even uninstalling the older one, it still says the same thing. I haven't been able to update it since 2007.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATION" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up").
In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC. Now try another QuickTime install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Okay. So, Safari was giving me some trouble, right? So, I thought I would delete it and reinstall it. I never had a problem doing so before, right? So, why not? I did, and then, when I tried to reinstall it, it tells me I have a newer version already installed. Can someone help me out here?
Hi..
Are you running Lion v10.7 by chance even though your profile indicates v10.6.8 ??
I ask because you can only reinstall apps using Lion Recovery
Much better to ask for help with Safari here before trying to delete the app and reinstall.
Is the Safari app still in the Trash by chance?
