Can't "locate media" in Premiere elements 7

Once i have added and edited few more video clips in my project which i have created earlier, I got following message in preview screen:"Media offline" after saving project and restarting the program. The message appears only to those clips that i have added and edited last. Earlier added clips works well. I added video clips normally by clicking "file" and "get media from.." "pc files and folders" Original clips are on my computers hard drive. When i select the clip from "edit" and "project" and try to use "locate media" button it stays grey so i can't press that button. I'm sure that video clips stays in same place on my hard drive so they could be located very easily if only the program lets me to do that. Program don't let me locate any media. Even the clips which are showing in preview. But the video is showing in another kind of preview window when i double-klick on "media offline" clip in time line. Is this somekind of bug or is the problem in the user? I'm very disappointed if i wasted money to program that doesn't work.

the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

Can't download themes for premiere elements, while I've no problem downloading any trial versions for any products using ADM(Adobe Download Manager) Hereunder is the frozen screen I've got. I'm running under Win7 ultimate 64bits

Error Message upon adding media Adobe Premiere Elements 12

. The program opens and I'm able to add media to a new project. Once I move the clip to the timeline I get the error message "Adobe Premiere 12 Has Stopped Working". I check the update on the video driver and it is current. This problem happen after I have been using the program successfully to two hours.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated 12 to 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update?
If not, please do so.

Since you wrote

Let us start with how much content (including source media, effects, titles, and transitions) you have on the Timeline at this 2 hour mark when the program stops working? Is there a consistent pattern of what you are doing in the program when this happens? Are you multitasking and running Premiere Elements?
Can you reopen this project? And, if so, how long can you work with it before the program shuts down again?
What is your project preset and the properties of your source media for the project?
Does the problem exist with all your projects or just this one?
We will be watching for answers to these preliminary questions and then we will plan our troubleshooting strategy according to your details.

?Difficulty with GET MEDIA in Premiere Elements 4; DVD import

In Premiere Elements 4, I attempted to import video footage off a DVD. I insert the DVD, click on GET MEDIA, then select DVD from the options list.
I get the message ADOBE PHOTO DOWNLOADER HAS STOPPED WORKING; a problem caused programme to stop working.
I have reinstalled Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and used the repair option with my Premiere Elemets 4 disc with no improvement.I would value help!

I would address the OS problems first. When things start going wonky in the OS, there can be a ripple effect, where portions of programs stop functioning, at least as they should. Before you go after those "ripples," try to solve what might be causing them.
Now for your DVD (after the OS issues are addressed), PE can Import, i.e. rip from many DVD's. However, there CAN be problems with some. PE is working with the VOB's and these can contain more than just the MPEG-2 Video and Audio. They can also contain alternate Audio, Menus and Sub-Menus, Subtitles, etc. These can give even the most sophisticaed ripping software fits. PE's ripping capabilities are limited, though when they work, they work pretty well. Here is a LINK to an article by Jeff Bellune, in the Encore forum. While it's goal is to get DVD material into Encore for authoring another DVD, most applies to getting the material into an NLE, like PE. Here is a LINK to the PrPro-wiki with FAQ's on DVD.
Get the OS issues straightened out first, then take a look at the provided links, in case PE still has problems with the DVD.

Why can't I sign into Premiere Elements 10 to use a template?

I'm trying to select one of the templates to use for the credits of my film, but it keeps trying to get me to sign in. The signing in process begins, but it never actually signs me in or rejects me. The signing in box just remains on the screen.
I've never before had to sign in to use any of the basic (Non-Plus Members Only) templates. What can I do?

Top left and top right thumbnail marks as seen in the 2nd row of thumbnails are photoshop.com plus types. They are no longer available to you in the
program. photoshop.com and photoshop.com plus are discontinued from the Adobe products. The only Titles available to you in 10 are displayed with thumbnails without those top left/top right markings as seen in the second row. There is no workaround or anywhere you can now buy replacements for 10.
I am not sure how and when the photoshop.com plus choices were ever available to you. Unless it was at a transitioning out of photoshop.com and a glitch in the system that permitted it. If you actually purchased one of these photoshop.com plus Content items, you should not be having any problems trying to access the files. You should have the completed files on your computer hard drive.
However, for versions 11 and 12, Adobe now has many of these choices as part of the purchased product (no ties to photoshop.com plus or Adobe Rebel which is now Adobe's preferred sharing site). No one sells replacements for 10. Buying 11 and 12 to get at copies of these files is possible but....
The Sign In dialog is meaningless in versions of Premiere Elements earlier than 11.

Are you looking for text whose fill is a 4- color gradient instead of a solid color. Or something else, like text whose fill is a still or video?

Can a video created in Premiere Elements 8 be edited in Premiere Elements 12?

I am having trouble with my Premiere Elements 8 freezing. I reloaded it onto the computer and it worked once and then froze again. So I was thinking about upgrading to PE 12. But I don't know how compatible the two programs are. Does anyone have a solution to my problem?

Typically it is recommended that project created in one program be completed in that program. It is possible, but not guaranteed, that a Premiere Elements 8 Windows project will open in Premiere Elements 12 Windows.
But, remember, once a project from the earlier version is opened in a later one and edited, you cannot edit the older project that was edited in the later version. Best make a copy of the Premiere Elements 8 project and use that copy to determine if it will open in Premiere Elements 12. Remember keep the project source media with the project.prel file. Look at Project Archiver (Copy option) if necessary.
Troubleshooting Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 would include
a. Do you have the automatic Background Rendering and AutoAnalzyer features turned off?
b. Do you have pile ups of previews, conformed video, and conformed auto?
c. What type of project do you have...project settings, properties of source media, types of edits?
d. Computer resources
and so on.
It is the problem confined to one project or all? How long has the problem existed?

Can't import video to Premiere Elements 8

Hey everyone,
I know this question probably gets asked a lot, but from hours of searching I still couldn't find a solution, so I thought I'd make an account to ask you guys.
I have Premiere Elements 8, and whenever I connect my Canon Vixia HG20 and use the Get Media option, it doesn't find my camcorder. I select the option for AVCHD or other Hard Disk/memory Camcorder, and then that window comes up but it says "None Found" or "No Device Found" (I refreshed it several times to be sure). I've tried this several times now through the course of a month.
Does anyone have any solutions or advice?

Using WinExp is not "importing" into PrEl... you are simply copying (or moving, your choice) the files from camera memory to computer hard drive

Auto-rotate video when getting media in premiere elements 8.0

Hi, I am using premiere elements 8.0. When I get media, some of my video clips get automatically rotated by 90 degrees, even though they videos were shot properly horizontally. How do I get this automatic rotation to stop?

I cannot confirm the report of Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 being "buggy" with .mov files or files from cell phone or cell phone like devices. I find it performs on a par with version 12 and others when set up according to certain guidelines. I see no need for you to upgrade to later version unless the later version has a feature that Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 does not.
1. Are you working from the 8.0.1 Update of Premiere Elements 8?
2. Are you running the program with the automatic Background Rendering and AutoAnalzyer features turned Off?
3. Do you have Edit Menu/Preferences/General GPU Playback set for enabled or disabled according to your video card?
There are other generalized Premiere Elements guidelines that I could go into, but I will leave the list as is for now.
As for this photo rotation matter....I have an iPod Touch 4th generation which records 720p video with a variable frame rate up to 30 frames per second. I have no problems importing or editing or exporting those files using Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1. I always record from the camera held in the horizontal position. The thumbnails that appear in Windows have the landscape orientation. And, those files imported from the hard drive appear in Premiere Elements in the landscape orientation.
When you have your file on the TImeline and want to correct its orientation, have you right click the video there and selected Rotate 90 Left or Rotate 90 Right?
You should not be losing any quality by rotating a Timeline clip.
If you opt to rotate the clip using Properties Palette/Motion Panel expanded and the Rotation option there, take care to not accidentally adjust the Scale property that is also in that area. If you go this route to Rotate, then selected the clip on the Timeline, go to Properties Palette, and the Motion Panel, expand the Motion Panel, and then adjust only the Rotation feature
a. typing in -90 degrees or +90 degrees as indicated
or
b. moving the mouse cursor over the field to move the values to the left or right
Please review and consider.

Can't add extras in Premiere Elements 10

I just bought and installed Premiere Elements 10 for Mac. I went to Adobes site and downloaded the whole package of extras. However when I double click the exe file, it opens up a text edit box with weird copy.
Does anyone know how I can install the extra effects, etc so I can use them in Premiere Elements?

I'm pretty sure I DL the Mac version, but I will try it again just to make sure. Come to think of it, the MAC version probably shouldn't have the exe extension, right?

Is there any way I can edit .mxf files using Premiere Elements 12?

Hello,
My camera records as .mxf files and my copy of Adobe Premiere Elements 12 tells me that it does not support this file type. Is there any way I could edit these clips? I've done some google searching I would personally rather not have to download a converter because I really don't trust many programs and I don't have the money to pay for one.

Premiere Elements (any version) does not support files with the file extension .mxf.
You will need to convert them to a format which your version of Premiere Elements supports.
