I have read your post on how you are not able to log in to a preferred user account, and that the screen goes black. I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To ensure that there is no service or background program that is causing this issue, I recommend booting your computer into Windows 8 Safe Mode. If you are able to successfully log in this way, I also suggest following this resource on how to Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files. This should help enable you to log into your preferred user profile normally.

  • Can't log into my main user acct! How can I fix this? Help, I'm stumped!

    OK, here's the problem. While using my machine with VMware, I got the beachball of death. Nothing would respond and no keystrokes would bring up force quit. I finally had to press and hold start to shutdown.
    When I restarted my machine first the grey screen came up and then a grey progress line was shown and finally completed. After that, the regular log in screen came up.
    Here is where the problem begins. When I go to log in, (enter my password) it pauses briefly and then a blue screen comes up for a moment, and then it returns to the log in screen. This is a never ending cycle and the same thing happens if I shutdown and restart.
    I can however log in into the guest account OK
    Here's what I've done so far. Opened Disk Utility from guest acct and repaired permissions and reset PRAM. So far no luck,
    If all attempts to log in fail, can I access my main user files from the guest account? I suppose if I have to reload everything I can restart in Target mode and get everything off to an external HD.

  • Can't log in as a user created in Workgroup Manager

    I am a little confused about users created in Workgroup Manager.
    I have created an account with all the proper permissions to log in etc. Their home directory is listed as afp://home/Users (home is the name of the server). The directory for the user I am trying to log in as doesn't exist yet.
    When I try to log into the server "home" with this newly created user, I get the vibrating window that indicates the log in failed.
    I am used to windows and AD where I would create a user in AD and then use something like \\domain\user to log in to the machine as that user. If i wanted to create a local user on that machine, I could do that too and then log in as \\machine\user to get the local user.
    Are Workgroup Manager created users like AD users? Can I use them to log into any machine on the network hooked up to the SL server machine? In this case I want to log into the SL Server machine with this user.

    There is only one root user, so saying "a root user" doesn't make sense. What you mean is an admin user, and it looks like your account has somehow manage to lose its admin privileges.
    Follow the instructions in I lost my admin user and you should get them back.
    Note that in this User Tip, 'youruser' is a placeholder. You are supposed to substitute the short name of your account wherever it appears.

    Now, my Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise server are running in the domain. It have problem about some one in my team have remote my server with the user administrator while I'm remote it now. It make my session loss. I tried to remote it again but I found
    the message at the log on screen about "The task you are trying to do can't be completed because Remote Desktop Services is currently busy. Please try again in a few minutes. Other users should still be able to log on."
    Now, nobody can't remote with administrator user into this server. I have check the application log. I found the error message like this.

    In addition, I can log on this server with other user but I can't log off by it's showing the message "please wait for the system Event Notification service". Normally, the problem can solve by reboot the server. But how can be solve this problem

    The cause of unable to remote back to the server seems to be services hung, please try to reset session as the article below guides to see if it works:

    If the issue can always be re-produced, then I would suggest you fully patch the system.

  • After Using Migration Assistant Can't Log On With That User Account

    I used Migration Assistant to move only my Settings and Users from my Power PC (User name RLE 5) to my Mac Pro.  Because of what I have read in these forums I did not migrate applications or and files/folders. I will do that manually.  After migrating I tried logging in to my user account RLE 5 on my Mac Pro, but it is telling me I am using the wrong password.  I used the same password I used on my Power PC, but with no luck.  On my Mac Pro I went into System Preferences>Accounts>RLE 5 account and changed the password.  I then rebooted and tried again.  No luck. 
    Can somebody help me with this problem?

    Hi jenaS,  sorry to hear that you're havig an issue after refresh of the system, if ur logged in using a live account it shouldnt change or remove the pin, if you are usin a local account the issue there might be in the profile on the system it might be corrupted, do you have a screen shot of the issue?

  • I can't log on to other user accounts.

    Just recently I've had a problem logging on to other user accounts.
    I can long on the the master account... but when I try to log on to other accounts I can't past the "initializing" progress bar, it just keeps going.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    adm is the OPERATING SYSTEM user, you can´t login to the SAP instance with that user.
    Check the official IDES installation documentation, you will find there the user to login in client 800.

  • I installed Mountain Lion and can't log in as different user

    I installed Mountain Lion and now I can't log out and log back in to the account that I prefer to use. It won't accept my password, even after I've reset the password for that account.

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
    Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Try the action again. Post any messages that appear in the Console window – the text, please, not a screenshot.
    Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

  • Can't Log in with regular user & pass

    I am trying to get a question answered. I was always able to access this forum with my usual username and password. Now the forums won't allow me to log in; instead they require that I re-register as a new user under my .Mac address. Though I have done that, I don't understand why they are putting me through all this fuss. I am unable to use my usual alias...duh! because I am already registered under that alias! But I'm not allowed to log in under it. When I click the login link I get a register as new user page with my address already set to my .Mac address. Can anyone explain this?

    sorry to report same problem here, despite being very familiar with registering & use of web forums
    and other sites requiring user sign up... in fact, this type of snafu has never happened to me over
    years of use across dozens/hundreds of sites. Site Admins--Any clues or info based on some recent change of this forums config??
    10.27.07: initially registered new account & alias (MeanPony) for use in the discussion forums;
    can't access that account or retrieve password;
    11.02.07: have now got 2nd new account with 2nd alias (switt44) apparently linked to the same email??
    don't need two accounts & two aliases, even-though that is now the case!
    Please, help me sort this out, so I can access the original account with the MeanPony alias.
    very hesitant to publicly post email, so admin please contact me via the currently registered email,
    to update MeanPony account and/or delete this switt44 account, because i don't need it or plan to use a new .mac email address. I'd actually like this whole post deleted, once this issue is solved if possible!

    I've just set up an additional user account for the first time since I've gotten my computer (about 6 years or so). After the account is created and a password is made, I can't actually log into the new account: either through fast switching or after restarting the computer. The entered password is always wrong! I've tried all kind of different passwords, tried repeating the user account creation multiple times, and I've run Disk First Aid on the login drive just to make sure. Any ideas are certainly appreciated!

    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Change Passwords from the menubar. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, *you must select your language first.)*
    *Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Change Passwords.*

  • Can't log in as root user

    Somehow my computer lost the ability to login as a root user. I noticed the problem when I tried to install a software update. When it prompted me for administrator username and password it usually has my username stored, it didn't. I typed my username and password but it didn't take. I opened Netinfo Manager to enable root user, but after I authenticate, the enable root user is dimmed.
    I tried logging out of user but there is not "other" option to login as root user. I can't create a new user in accounts because it's locked and to unlock it I need the correct administrator username.
    I've also tried boot from CD to reset password. When I select my boot drive it gives me no options.

  • Can't log in to local user when connected to server

    We used to have 3 local accounts on each of our machines: 2 required a password, and 1 did not.
    Then we hooked up our server and students have been logging into it. We haven't really touched the local accounts since then. Now I need to get access to the local account with no password. I can access it only if I disconnect the machines from the network, but I can't get into it otherwise. I have tried giving the account a password, but it still won't work once I hook back up to the network.
    How can I get access to this account without having to disconnect every time? The other 2 local accounts work with no problem.

    You can use SS management studio to connect to DB. What you need to do, is to ensure your connection string is something like
    <connectionStrings>
    <add name="conn2" connectionString="Data Source=192.?.?.?\your_db_instance;Initial Catalog=your_db_schema;Integrated Security=False;User ID=your_db_login;Password=??????" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>
    </connectionStrings>
    within Web.config/app.config file in your project, to ensure the project will work fine with the database.

    I am unable to get into the ecenter on eprinter. Even when I try to rest password it does not recognize the email address. When I try to create a new one, it says it already exists. I m using my personal email account. Please help.

    If you are having issues logging into your ePrintCenter account try logging in using the Snapfish icon on the "Sign In" page. It is the small blue icon with a black fish on it located on the far right of the icons below the login and password fields.
    If you are still unable to login with this icon use the "Forgot Password" link with the Snapfish icon and try to have your password reset. If this works, you should receive an email with a temporary password you can use to login to ePrintCenter.
    Let me know if this works for you or if you need additional assistance.

  • Can't log on to my user account after refreshing lenovo ideapad u310.

    I was having a problem with my network connection where it worked for the desktop but not for any apps that require the network so i started to refresh my laptop to reset anything that i may have downloaded that was affecting it. By refreshing it it removed my update to 8.1 which i was aware of before i started to refresh the laptop. Now when it asks for my microsoft account password and i enter in my CORRECT password it says that it is incorrect. I have even tried to enter my pin that i had on the laptop along with the actual account password and it just says it is an old pin and that i have to enter the new one. I never replaced it and am assuming that refreshing the laptop caused somekind of replacment of pin. But how do i recover access to my laptop? It wont allow me in without a pin or password...

    Hi there,
         Once you launch Creative Cloud Desktop Application, select the Gear icon which is located on the top right side of the CC Window and choose 'Preferences'. Under 'Preferences' click on 'Account' tab where you will see 'Sign out' button. Once you click on this button, it Signs out from all the Creative Cloud applications.
    The other simple solution is: Once you launch any Adobe Creative Cloud application like Photoshop or Indesign, choose "Help" > Signout. Even this step will deactivates all the other CC applications.
    Later, when you launch any application, it would say that it is running in trial version and will prompt you to enter your credentials.
