Cannot initialize the LockServer component - MAR

Hi,
I have installed the MAR, MAS and Mobile client in 2003 Server. When i try to configure the MAR as like the below link.

When i have perform the below link 2 & 3. That means enter the DSN and User name and Pwd like
DSN: ars_db
USD: arsadmin
PWD: <None>
When i choose login. i got the below error message.
"cannot initialize the LockServer component" in MAR.

Hi Bala,
Refer to SAP Note 459104 which may help with this problem.
Also refer to 498154 in case you are running multiple Short Term Lock Servers on one Development Workstation.
Also There are a number of steps that you can try to resolve this issue.
Can you please check the user rights and roles on the db?
1. Navigate to Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services.
2. Invoke the process "SAP MAR Central Service"
3. Check that it is running and in #Automatic# mode.
4. Invoke #Microsoft SQL Server#->Enterprise manager#->
    Your local machine->Data bases->ars_db->Tables. In the right hand
    side choose #ARS_SYSTABLE#.
5. Right click and choose #Return all rows#.
6. In the returned rows check the entry under column heading "Param"
    "ServerMachineName" and "RemoteSocketPort" entries.
    The "ServerMachineName" entry should
    point to the server machine and the "RemoteSocketPort" entry should
    point to the port on the server machine where the lock server is
    running.
7. Also check if the machine given by the value of "ServerMachineName"
    entry is recognised on your network.
In the command prompt type "ping <machine Name>" ( without quotes ).
A ping to the machine name must succeed and must not return
"Unknown host <machineName>".
If this is the case (ping returns "Unknown host") replace the name
of the machine with its IP address.
(Also ensure that this IP address is recognised on your network as
well. Type in the command prompt "ping <IP address>" )
7.1. To replace the machine name, in the returned rows in step (6),
     select the value of "ServerMachineName" and directly replace it
     with the IP address.
7.2. Tab out from this field for the changes to take effect.

Even am able to retrieve the data from Sql Server management studio.
The same retrieved data should be shown in the application (Dashbord).
Query : Select * from OpenQuery(Excel_Test,'Select * from [Sheet1$]')
Am getting the output excatly the data in the excel sheet.
But when am opening that application where the above data should be shown am getting the below error.

I have created a linked server in a SQL Server 2005 connecting to either an Oracle Database and a SQL Server 6.5 database and getting the following error for both links when trying to query using provider OraOLEDB.Oracle, please help.
OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "finprod3" returned message "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified".

What version of Oracle client software are you using? 32 bit or 64 bit? Is the OS 32 bit or 64 bit?
12154 generally means the client can't figure out what TNSNames.ora entry you're referring to, which is the part you passed as "data source" in the oledb connection. Did you configure the client? Does SQLPlus connect without issue?
There's also a known issue where running 32 bit client software on a 64 bit OS can result in that error in some versions, due to parenthesis in the path of the executable - 32 bit apps go in Program Files (x86) on a 64 bit OS. Applying the latest patch level to the client software will resolve that issue.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

Does anyone have a idea over why randomly get the following error message from the init vi for the HP6810A power supply?
Error -1223 occurred at HP68xxA Initialize
Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW: Instrument identification query failed.
I have verified that the VISA resource name is correct.

I am just trying to do something very simple, initialize the HP6812A with a vi named HP68xxA. I am not sure where it came from, I am assuming from NI and/or HP/agilent, Because I am trying to initialize, ther are no input strings or output strings. The inputs are error in and the instrument descriptor, bot of which I have verified to be correct. I have looked at the block diagrams of the drivers and I have noticed that the VISA open vi's are called Old Visa Open. So this my be a clue and I should probably try to update the VISA opens to a current VISA open and see what happens.

I have an application which has linked servers to mdb databases on Sql Server. Development machines which have access to full version of Office can intialise the data source as expected, however, machines using the Office 2010 runtime throw the above exception.
Have checked the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Microsoft.ACE.OleDb.12.0\CLSID which has value {3BE7860-0366-4F5C-9434-25CF162E475E} as expected, however that CLSID cannot be found in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID on the machines using the runtime.
How can I ensure PCs using the 2010 runtime can access the linked server(s).

Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37) for Ipod Nano

I have a Ipod Nano for 5 years and Saturday I was updating the latest Itunes and when I connect my Ipod to my PC I got a Code 37 error. I uninstalled the new itunes and put back the old itunes but my Ipod is still having the same error. I did the same thing to unistall the ipod and itunes reboot the PC and installed itunes 10.7 back in and then my Ipod and still have the error. Then last night I tried out my Ipod Shuffle and connect it to my PC and it was installed successfully. Do I have to get a new Ipod if my nano isn't working (but it still plays)?

I cannot install the everio component for quicktime using quicktime 10 with MacOs Lion. With Leopard and a previous version of quicktime it was not a problem. If I don´t do this I will not be able to see the .tod files from my hd camera

Does anyone know if this is a problem of Lion/Quicktime 10?? I kind of have that feeling, which is quite annoying, because I will not be able to edit my hd video files in my new iMac until the problem is solved... and I would rather prefer not to use conversion... Any suggestion??

1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

Ok, so after like 4 days of going through all these different issues, I figured out that several programs weren't downloading, and it was an issue with my wireless connectivity messing up the digital signatures, so if you plug in your comp to the modem and delete your temp files, it should start to work!

hello vo_z, the log shows that the issue is occurring particularly during syncing your history - can you try to exempt it from being synced in the sync-preferences and see if the error bar is still showing up...
