Cannot retrieve EPm Addin?

Hi there, am getting a very frequent error message as below:
"Cannot retreive EPM Addin, please check that it is not disable by Excel".
I understand that this was due to my MS Excel crashed then EPM will just been disable. Then each and everytime, I will need to re-install the EPM again to be able to lauch the EPM from BPC.
Your advice please.

You do not have to completely re-install the EPM add-in, you can simple enable it again
In Excel, go to
"File", "Options", Select the tab "Add-Ins"
At the bottom drop-down, select "Disabled Items" and click "Go". Now you can enable the add-in again.

please follow the below steps.
If the EPM add-in has been deactivated, you can re-activate it.
In Microsoft Office Excel 2007,click the Office button, then click the Excel Options button.
In the Excel Options dialog box,select Add-Ins.
Select Disabled Items from the Manage dropdown list and click the Go button.
In the Disabled Items dialog box,select the SAP BusinessObjects EPM Solutions, add-in for Microsoft Office and click the Enable button.
Click the Close button.
In Microsoft Office Excel 2010,click the File->Options->Add-Ins.
In the Inactive Application Add-ins area, select "EPM add-in for Microsoft Office".
In the Manage dropdown list,select “COM Add-Ins”.
Click "EPM Add-In for Microsoft Office" in the dialog box that appears.

my head hurts and i become crazy... i know that a lot of people asked this question before, but i did not found any suitable solution.
I have simple a jsp page, containing a form which should be handled by struts. I tried everything, but i did not found my mistake.

Hi,
          I have a page jsp which contains a form. This form contains an action
          towards (page.do ).
          I configured struts-config.xml file in whom I put a configuration of
          action ( type=xxx.pageAction ) but not form because I have not need of
          it.
          During the execution it show that it tries to instantiate a bean of form
          corresponding to a configuration of action and post this error message
          " Root causes of ServletException javax.servlet.jsp. JspException:
          Cannot retrieve definition for form bean null "
          Could you indicate to me where is the problem ?
          Here is my configuration :

There's little reason to use Struts infrastructure to set this up since you have no model, and the controller aspect is well-defined (just go to "NewProject"!). You're basically providing a link from one page to another, akin to doing an <a href>, and you wouldn't use Struts to do a simple link :).
I would just just use standard HTML.
If you're okay with using Javascript, this is the simplest:

Or you can use a standard HTML form, as you've basically done already:

Webi report: Issue Cannot retrieve dimensions from Cube

Hello Experts, We're facing an issue with a partical set of Webi reports in Quality environment. The reports are BW reports based on OLAP BICS connectivity on top of Bex queries.y Below is the scenario and the issue: 1. The backed Bex queries have been trasported to Quality BW system and they're running fine when run from RSRT or Bex analyzer. 2.The Webi reports along with the BICS connections have been migrated to the Quality box and the BICS connections have been editied so that they point to the Quality BOX bex queries and they're testing and responding to the connection successfully. 3. The Webi reports pointed to the Dev Box in the Dev BOBJ system are working fine, but when the same reports for which the connections were repointed in Quality as above, are giving the error "Cannot Retrieve Dimensions from Cube". Steps taken: a. Deleted the reports and the BICS connection from Quality environment and remigrated the reports,connecitons and changed the connecitons but still the issue persists. b.Tried finding the root cause and got the following issue in the Bex query in Quality: There are filters put in the Bex query . All other filters are working fine except 0CALMONTH. We tried putting all sorts of variables on 0CALMONTH, but the moment a variable is put on 0CALMONTH, this issue occurs. But when we tried removing the variable from 0CALMONTH in filters and restricted it to a single value, the Report works fine. However the same is not an issue in the Dev Box and all queries with similar variables are working fine. So we're thinking this might be an issue on the BW backend and the cube might have to be transported again to the Quality Box. ANy quick suggestions or inputs on this would be greatly appreciated. Cannot Retrieve referenced URL in wscript file from Local System Account, but not other accounts on the computer.

I have a WScript File that includes an external resource (js file).
It works on one computer and it does not work on another computer.
If I run this file from a normal admin command prompt everything runs fine on both computers.
If I run this file from the Local System account using PsExec it runs fine on one of the computers and throws an error "Cannot Retrieve referenced URL" on the other computer.
The reason I want it to run from the Local System account is that it is executed from a Windows Service.
Is there some setting or some way for the IE cache to get corrupt on the Local System account or something like that?

First I'd check UAC settings, because I believe that can change how elevation works substantially.
Second, I would check the versions of wscript.exe on both machines, both in System32 and SysWow, and I'd check for updates bypassing WSUS to make sure there's not something silly going on there (totally a shot in the dark, catch-all theory).
Have you made any headway in the last few weeks?

I had to upgrade my OS so that i could download the newest version of adobe photoshop. this upgrade also upgraded my iPhoto and erasing all photos. I do have photos backed up on external hard drive but cannot retrieve photos from the external hard drive.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.

Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.

4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then Try a Repair on the External USB Drive.
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

User cannot retrieve data in app on local PC

A certain user cannot retrieve data in one application whilst being able to send data in that application. She can access the 'Finance' application, send data in that application and retrieve data but in another application, 'ICM', she cannot retrieve data whilst being able to send data in that application. The weird thing is that she can retrieve data on another PC in the same application (same ID). This means the problem of retrieving data only exists on that specific computer.
As the problem only exists on that PC I did the following:
- clear local application data (via eTools in BPC for Excel)
- make sure the BPC client on that PC works => all show OK in BPC Client Log.txt (after diagnostics)
But still no results so...
Any suggestions...anyone?

then login using connection Wizard.

If you cloned the disk you should have all the existing files on the original disk.
The new disk is seen as a different computer..

Query - Cannot Retrieve the Data / Result Set

I'm trying to query a cube through the OLAP connection using Java and every time I try to execute a query an exception is thrown stating "Cannot retrieve the data set" or "Cannot retrieve the result set" depending on how I'm doing the query. I've tried to execute the query both through the use of an IBIQuery and IBICommandProcessor object as well as directly through the IBIOlap connection via an MDX statement and both methods produce the same exception. If anyone can shed some light on why exception is being thrown it would be greatly appreciated.

The stack trace specifically tells you that your connection string is wrong.
It also tells you which connection string is wrong.
Which you can use to determine specifically which one is wrong. And which you did not provide that info to us.

POST-QUERY trigger cannot retrieve the database field in TEMPLATE.fmb

I have tried to create a form using TEMPLATE.fmb in Oracle Apps R11i. I found that the POST-QUERY trigger cannot retrieve the database field (which is display item property) properly. Can anyone tell me how to retrieve the displayed database fields? Thanks for any helps.

POST-QUERY would fire after the query has been executed, it does not do the actual data retrieve.
See if the items you have put have the data source properties set and are not control items.

Can't see msgs in UWC / reconstruct fails with cannot retrieve message uid

I have restored several email accounts into a test email account. I'm trying to move some of the .msg files around so that they are easier to find. I have created some new folders and when I move the messages into the folder, I cannot see them in the web client. If I run reconstruct, I get

Normally, after restoring email, I have to recreate the mail folders (either via mboxutil or manually via the UWC or a client), then run reconstruct. Even then, often the messages will show as 'deleted' until I either move them to a different folder or go into the UWC and mark them as undeleted. At this point, I can't see the recently restored messages at all in the UWC. They are on the server. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

In general, manually moving files around inside the store like this should be discouraged.
reconstruct is telling you something is wrong:

cannot retrieve message uid 1286The first line is to be expected based on what you have done. The store.idx indicates there are no messages in the folder. But it found 41 .msg files. So it is going to rebuild store.idx to fix that.
But then there is some problem with accessing the .msg files. Possibilities would include:
- wrong ownership/permissions?
- the .msg file being in the wrong NN subdir ??
If those guesses do not lead to anything, try truss on the reconstruct command to see what happens when reconstruct tries to open those files.
