Capacitity leveling - Dispatching production order considering PM block

Dear friends,
I am trying to dispatch a production order of large Qty by using transaction CM21.
The order will take 15 days to complete.
Two days are blocked by plant maintenance order on that work center in future. They are shown as black in CM21.
When I try to dispatch, system is automatically dispatching the order in such a way that its end date is before PM block date or start date is after PM block date.
e.g. Order will run from 10th August to 25th august.
PM has blocked dates 20 & 21st August.
Hence the expected result is start the order on 10th and will end on 27th.
But when I dispatch the order on 10th, system automatically takes it to 22nd (First day after PM block).
Can we not plan orders with PM block period in between?
Best Regards,
Avinash

You need to enable splits in the operation (routing definition).

  • Machines with different Capacities in a production order

i am have the  Machines of Different Capacities( Ex Machine A :2pcs/hr &  Machine B:4 Pcs Hr).
i have Maintained the Work centers as Same Name.
In actaual Production i want to use both the Machines.
How to maintain in the  Routing .This is only one Operation and i want to use both the Machine.
    Ex :Prod Order Qty :100
I want to use Machine A to manufacture the 60 Qty and use the Machine B for 40 Qty.
    Please give me the Solution

    Dear laks,
I think this will help.  If you have maintained individual capacity as 2 for eg, for machine oriented capacity category then pl maintain the individual capacity details for  those 2 nos. You can give the individual capacities what ever name u like for eg Punch press 10ton, Punch Press 20 ton etc.
Note: you can access the individual capacities in the menu bar "goto - Individual capacities" of the relevant capacity category.
Once you have maintained this, you can assign these individual capacities  in your production order.  You have to enter into the production order operations, double clik on the operation number which has got this WC, then enter into Cap. req assignement tab.  There u can enter the individual capacities detail and assign the quantities for the individual capacities as well.  Also, the capacites will be split and despatched as well.
During the confirmation process, in CO11n, you have to mention the split number as well other than your confirmation / order number.  The system will validate this quantities with the production order capacities split qty.
Regarding parallel routing, i think this will only work if you have two different work centers.
If the scenarios  is always like this, i think it would be preferable to create two diff work centres and like the other members of the forum have suggested, a parallel routing would be ideal.

  • Use of Planning Table (MF50) in Capacity Levelling with Production Order

    Hello Experts
I wish to know that is it possible to perform Capacity Levelling in planning table (tcode MF50) with respect to a Production Order ? It is known that MF50 is used in Repetitive manufacuring to do the capacity levelling with respect to Planned orders. But in our discrete manufacturing scenario we want to use planning table to the capacity levelling with respect toa Production order.
Any clue or help pertaining to this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Jayanta

    Dear ,
MF50 is does the cacapcity leveling based on mateail -run schedule order (planned order ) where as in discrete manufacturing , when you run the MRP ,  MRP system assume Infinite Capacity  and schedule the order as per your selection in MD02(2,1,3,3,2)  and then you convert those planned order to Production order .Here you checkied the Capacity in Production Order level .
In stanadrd SAP  , it is not possible to use MF50 for discrete production order.
In discrete order or process order ,  do the caapcity leveling , there are seperate planning table available based on Over all Capacity Profile and Schedule type .This can be done  in following way :
    1.CM31-Production Order Wise -Tabular
    2.CM23-PO wise -Graphical
    3.MC88: Ruf Cut Planning
    Work Centre Wise : CM21 -Graphical , CM22-Tabular Planning Table .
Make sure the below set up before  you carry on the Capacity leveling :
    .Define time profile in OPD2.
Define the strategy profile in OPDB
Define the Overall profiles in OPD0.
In OPJK  maintained check capacity with SAPSFCG013 profile for your production order type
In OPU3 , scheduleing parametre s: Generate Capacity , Scheduling Type , Automatic Log ,Start date in Past as per your req.
In OPJU , chekc the contol tab of the scheduleing as per OPU3
In OPKP- Production scheduling paranmeters assing the overall capacity profile -SAPSFCG013  with finte scheduling tick.
    Master Data :
1.Materials Master define the Production scheduler and production scheduling profile
2.Work Center - Define the capcity planner group, activate checkbox Relevant for Finite sceduling,on the capacity header define the shift timings, break timings and unit of measure,no of individual capaity, enter formula for scheduling in capacity view.
3.Routing - enter the values for the standard values. Use control key with scheduling.
Hope this will help you .

  • Manual Change Revision Level in Production Order

    Dear guru ,
The revision level in the production order (for material to be produced and for the component)  isn't manual changeable.
Does exist a chance for a manual change of revision level ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear Suresh ,
i know the link with ECM. In production order i can change the component revision level if i work with bom explosion date in read PP master data. But this solution isn't flexible. Imagine that i want to read PP master data with different explosion date for different component ...
Why in the purchase order the system allow a manual change of revision level and this chance doesn't exist in production order ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Can't dispatch planned order (LA), but can dispatch production order

    Hello,
I'm new to capacity planning and all of the related configuration screens.  I'm probably missing something simple.  We've configured our work centers and routings.  We've configured our production order types (tcode OPU3, type US01) and planned order types (tcode OPU5, type LA) so that all create capacity requirements and are relevant to 'detailed scheduling'.  Requirements are being generated for production orders and planned orders.  We can see correct setup and production times in the graphical planning table CM21.
Here's the problem: When we try to dispatch a planned order, nothing happens.  There is no error, but the order is not dispatched.  If we convert the planned order into a production order, accepting all SAP proposed defaults, and then try to dispatch the production order, it works fine.
What configuration are we missing?  My first thought was to look in OPU5 for order type LA.  In the detailed scheduling section, scheduling horizon is zero (is this Ok?), SelID: Detailed is 01, 'scheduled' and 'generate capacity reqs' are checked.
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Randy ,
Please analyse the below note related to your issue.Hope this will help you to sort out the problem.I have cheked the configuration area.I hope u are correct .In fact , it may related to your production version if you do automatic dipatch. Please reade the note and come back.
If an error arises when automatically dispatching planned orders (for example, a capacity overload at a work center) then the system schedules the affected planned orders to another production line. This function is available in both types of planning table. It is of interest for all areas that use planned orders, for example in repetitive manufacturing or in MRP/MPS. It can also be used in production control when later converting planned orders to production orders.
this function the following conditions must be met:
The dispatching function Change production version on error must be set in the strategy profile.
    The original work center
must be entered in the production version of the material as the production line (not necessarily in the current production version).
can only be assigned to one operation in the routing for this production version
The alternative work center can only be assigned to one operation in the routing for the alternative production version
If an error arises the system copies the production version with the version key that is next alphanumerically into the planned order. The planned order is rescheduled with this production version. However, it is not dispatched to the new production line but remains in the pool. In this way you can dispatch the rescheduled planned orders together with other planned orders in the pool to the new production line.
To give you a better overview and to improve handling you should choose a sort key with which the planned orders in the pool are sorted according to work center and, for example, latest start date. All orders that are to be dispatched to a production line are then placed next to one another in the pool. If an error arises during automatic dispatching to the new line every planned order affected is rescheduled with the next production version
. If the conditions are not met then the following occurs depending on your settings in the strategy profile:
    Dispatching is terminated
Dispatching to the same work center is continued and error messages are written to the planning log
You can only dispatch main operations with this function, but not sub-operations. Operations are always dispatched with the full quantity to the new work center
    Reward point if useful
    Regards
    Jia

  • Block Creation of Production order Unless released in Order.

    Hi Experts.
we have a requirement where we want to block the creation of production order inless it is confirmed. Is there any User exit / or anyother indicator where i can define or configure so that the MRP run and also the Creation of the production order can be block for a sales order.
    Plz advice.
    Thanks in Advance
    Rishi

    Hi
But Manually it does allow the user to create Production order .
I want unless, Say the delivey block at item level is removed , User should not be allowed to create the production order for the relevant line item of the sales order.

  • Goods Issue Control & confirmation control for Production Order.

    Dear ALL,
Please let me know how to control,
    1) Unauthorised consumption of component quantities in excess of quantity defined in BOM?
    2) Posting of Confirmation (At operation Level) against production order for which no components have been issue?
    3) Posting of goods receipt against production order for which no components have been issued or no confirmations have been posted?
    4) Posting of goods reversal quantity in excess to issued quantity.
    Regards,

    Prashant,
Not all the requirements you mentioned can be controlled in Standard SAP system. For some of the requirements you could configure User status (Tcode :BS02).
    exmaple :
Posting of Confirmation (At operation Level) against production order for which no components have been issue?
SET user status XX on Business  transaction : Release that forbids CONF.
SET another user status YY on Business transaction : Goods movement that allows confirmation.
With this kind of tricky user status you can control/prevent some transactions in production order till certain transactions are done.
I know this is not the ideal solution but I have used it for various purposes to meet certain business needs.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks,
    Ram

  • Create a production order with variant configurator data

    Hello,
Can anyone tell me the way to create a production order with variant configurator data. Is there a BAPI ? an IDOC ?
    Is there several steps ?
I have to create an interface which creates automatically PP orders. The data input is a file.
    Thanks for your help

    Hi,
There are fews BAPI's available for creation of Production Order. They are:
    BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE
This bapi will suit to your requirement, as input will be provided from file.
    Others are
BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE_FROM_PLORD " this converts planned order to production order
BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE_FROM_REF      " this creats production order considering other production order as reference.
    Hope your query is answered.

  • Disabling GATP for planned orders/production orders

    Hi,
We have a scenario where we need to disable ATP check for production orders happening through GATP. That is, ATP check for production order materials should happen in SAP R/3.  This is a problem because we have activated ATP check in integration models for sales orders and it is happening through GATP.  Production Planning is happeninig in R/3 and we dont have either PP/DS or SNP in APO. ..only GATP.
any pointers on how the ATP check for planned orders/production orders can be blocked in GATP for the same materials which are active for sales order GATP check?
    Thanks.

    hi Pawan /Prasun /vikas
    Thanks for your helpful answers
@Pawan : Since we have recently gone live with production planning and its in the process of stabilizing we do not want to enable ATP check for production orders in GATP yet. Also since we are also using batch-determination with ATP check in production orders we still have to check how the system responds with the combination.  Therefore,as of now, we dont intend to switch on ATP for production orders in GATP.
@ Prasun :  I understand there would be a user exit (EXIT_SAPLATPC_001) which would help in doing GATP check based on order type/business event.  However my concern is if the order does not belong to any of the order types will the system do a normal standard ATP check in APO or it will do a ATP check in R3 ? Our programmers are still looking how to tweak it but any pointers based on your experience will be helpful
    Thanks

  • Batch for production order when released

    Hello Guru,
I have a question, we on created production order, when change (CO02) to be released (green flag) new batch will be created upon saving this change for the order Change Batch display will prompt, displaying the batch number for the FG material on the order, with its Production Date (set as the date of start of order) and the Shelf Life expiration (depend on the SLED date in master data for material) this to date was automatically proposed by SAP. We would like this two date of the batch of the production order to be blocked on all modification possible, is there any set-up way we can do in order to block those date for future modifcation by some user? please help and guide us to do this.
    Thanks

    Hello R>brahmankar,
AM interested on this An OPKP there is setting for create batch while releasing assign this profile to material master -
i already check OPKP for our plant, in the batch management portion BATCH CLASSIFICATION was set to 1 (classification was carried out in background-all batches) and the AUTOMATIC BATCH CREATION IN THE ORDER was set to 2 (auto batch creation at order release). EXTENDED CLASSIFICATION and ALWAYS BATCH SPLIT was not tick, please how can we do this in OPKP and assign for the material master profile? please guide.

  • Error while creating production order (capacity leveling)

    Hello Friends,
For capacity Planning - Leveling, i am using overall profile  "SAPMPSG006 - MPS/MRP: Capacity availability check", in Production scheduling profile, which i have attached in the material master.
In Availability check parameter, checking control for the combination of Plant, order type and business transaction 1, in capacity availability section also, i have maintained the overall profile "SAPMPSG006 - MPS/MRP: Capacity availability check'.
Now i have created the production order for a particular period (start date 17.03.10 , finish date 20.03.10). In CM01, agaist the work center, i can see the load. Hence available capacity and required capacity is same for three days.
Now again i have created one more production order for the same period (start date 17.03.10 , finish date 20.03.10), system is showing the window with the message work center with overload. On the same screen, when  i click on finite scheduling tab, than system showing the new latest start date and time the same as earlier date i.e 17.03.10.
Here my question is , when i click on finite scheduling tab, than system should propose the date 21.03.10, as on and after this date capacity on this workcenter is available. But system is not proposing the dates, where capacity is available.
When i checked the dispatching log, there i found two errors.
    continued..................

    Dear,
That's great production order system is proposing the future date automatically.
    Few check,
    1) Factory calendar for holidays?
2)Any other production order on that days?
3)Your capacity profile and its setting?
    Basic dates
Check whether scheduling should be performed with a time being specified. For this, check the scheduling data of the scheduling type in Customizing. OPU3
    Do the basic dates change?
Check whether the alternative "Adjust basic dates" has been selected for the scheduling parameters.
Check whether the basic dates are set correctly on account of the operation dates. So check operation dates also?

  • How to stop a production order processing when a delivey block is placed

    Hi,
Mine is a MTO scenario. I am using planning strategy 50. So a planned order ---> production order will be created against MRP run  against each sales order.
When i am placing a delivery block at the header the system is working fine. Its deleting the planned order(converted production order).
when I am placing a delivery block at the schedulle line its not working fine. its not deleting the underlined planned order or production order.
what configuration should I do to make this work.......

    Deepu,
Unfortunately as per SAP documentation below you cannot have this function at schedule line level.
"If you enter the delivery block at header level, the system transfers the desired delivery quantity for all schedule lines in the requirement. The confirmed quantity is deleted. This function is not available when you enter the delivery block at schedule line level."
I have tried in my system & it works the same way. Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Ram
