Capacity calculation

Hi Gurus,
Question related to process industry.
I have different resoures. I used 5 resources in one product Recipe.
The same resources will be used for other product manufacturing with different time length.
But two product will not be processed at time. Manufacturing will be one after one only.
The suitable demand for one month                                    Product- A is 2000 Kg (It requires 20 Days) and Product B is 500 Kg requires 10 days.
Now question is,
I have given demand for -A is 3000 in MD61 and ran MRP. Planned orders and dependents created accordingly.
Now I given demand for -B as 500 Kg, and ran MRP,
Planned orders and dependents created accordingly.
According to monthly plan, available capacity is 2000 Kg- A and 500 Kg- B,
But we have given excess demand. No ware system restricted and warned regarding capacity.
Is there any solution for this?
can any body give me solution.
rewards will be given,
Adv. thnx & Regards,
Anand.M (Hyderabad)

Dear,
Please note that MRP is only plans material and schedules as per the routing or material data maintained. Once you run MRP, you need to goto capacity planning table and there it will show the excess load with red line.
Run MRP with folloiwng setting
Scheduling = 2-Lead time scheduling and capacity planning.
Then goto CM01, give the work center and execiute the report it will show overload.
In capacity planning table like MF50 or CM21/CM22, you need to dispath the requirement in such a way that there is no overload.
I hope you got some idea.

  • Capacity calculation in PM module

    Dear all gurus,
Inspite maintaining settings in workcenter, shifts and controlkey , when i make order <b>PM01</b> type and try to check capacity it is giving message
<b>No reqmts/caps exists or not relevant to finite scheduling.</b>
Along with this alarm what ever help message settings mentioned I have maintained still the message is coming and when I click OK it says
    <b>All capacities are available.</b>
Inspite of that I could not find load on work center in <b>CM01</b> T-code
    Kindly help me.

    Nandipati,
What is the workcenter category you have used? Looks like here is the problem.. generally formulas for PM will have to be assigned in Other forumla as rightly pointed out by Thyagaraj.
Also you need to check the scheduling parameters for PM order, there also you need to activate check box for Generate Capacity Requirements for the order type/plant combination. I dont remember the transaction also will not be able to say as I dont have access to system now.

  • Required capacity calculation in cProjects automatically

    Hi
For a project, in the structure tab tasks have been created and role/responsible person has been allocated with duration.
In the resoruces->staffing tab, the requried capacity is still shown as zero. Also in resoruce->tasks tab, tasks assigned to project role is not getting popualted automatically even though these details are alsready in the structure.
Should we have to redo the task/capacity assignment manually again or does cProjects do automatically from structure? Any help?
    Regards
    Senthil

    Hi,
The capacity requirements & scheduling is done as per the formula given in the capacity & scheduling tab page in the work center (cr02).
In work center the standar value is maintained , this contains the parameters (eg: setup, machine time etc.) to be used in the formulas.
You can define the parameters using t.code op17,
Standard value key using op19 & Formula using op21.
Then when you create a routing, when you enter the corresponding work center in the opetation details, the system will ask for setup, machine time etc.
Here you can enter 10 min as setup time & no. pcs which can be machined/processed in one minute.
Then when you create a production order & if it forward scheduling, then the system will start scheduling from 6.00 am say the start of the shift.
6.00 to 6.10 am setup will take place & then from 6.10 machining will start. Then end time is determined by the Order quantity.

  • Event definition and capacity calculation

    Hi,
Due to the implementation of a CSM, there are a couple of things that I need to clarify in order to be sure about the Server requirements.
    1. What is the definition of an event in a security device? Is it a violation to rules? Is it a connection fail??
    2. How could I posibbly know the storage capacity required to handle the events send by an ASA? Is there an especific size for this logs/packets???
    Thanks for your comments.

    Hi Douglas,
The events from the ASA are simply the syslogs that are generated by the firewall. However, certain syslogs are "deeply parsed" by CSM to provide additional details. Here is a list of syslogs that are deeply parsed (the rest are displayed as raw syslog data):
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/security_management/cisco_security_manager/security_manager/4.0/user/guide/evntchap.html#wp191617
As for the storage requirements, this will depend on the amount/level of logs that are generated by your ASA.
    Hope that helps.

  • Capacity requirement in workcenter.

    Hi all
Please explain about  setting for determining actual capacity requirements in workcenter.
Also explain how it is useful?

    Hi,
Capacity planning is divided into two components in SAP
    1. capacity leveling
    2.capacity Evaluation
    Capacity Leveling
Following elements will create Capacity requirements,
      1. Planned order with Lead time scheduling
      2. production orders
Following elements will be used to calculate  required capacity  and Capacity Percentage:( Actual capacity calculation)
    1. Work center formula
    2. Routing Base qty.,activity times
    3. Number of Individual capacity
    4. production order/ Planned order Order Qty
    Capacity Evaluation
Capacity evaluation is fully controlled by setting maintained in IMG 'Overall profile'
This is Just an overview about CRP.

  • Current Month Capacity Availability in Capacity Data View

Capacity Data View Does Not Roll Forward - current month still shows full monthly capacity being available (744 hours for January 2008) even though we are on 01/11/2008 (504 hours left in January 2008).  Where in the configuration this value is calculated?  What change I need to make to the configuration to make the monthly capacity view rolling forward.
    Appriciates all of your help.
    Thanks.  Tom

I am not sure if you can debug the code. Anyway when you go into Macroworkbench, you can right click and pickup the option to look into the ABAP code generated behind the macros. It may be definitely more than 1000 line code and so am not sure if you want to go there. You may want to eliminate the macros in the capacity view one by one to exactly isolate the code that does the capacity calculation.
Alternatively as I suggested, you can use a user exit macro to do the calculation. The UE macro can look into tables such as /sapapo/editquan to exactly calculate the resource per day and finally interrogate location calendars to calculate available capacity which can be published in a user defined key figure.(even a planning book KF should do unless you want to generate DB alerts).

  • Warehouse capacity values

    Hello All,
I am looking for the the functionality in SCM that would help my organisation put "capacity" for warehouse/plant may be for every day or even every hour so when when the order scheduling takes place, it takes into account the capacity and possibly allocate the next day delivery if there is no capacity available.
Example: On 23rd Feb, our warehouse can process 200 orders having 1200 units. If there is a backlog of 180 orders with 1150 units, the next upcoming order of 50 will be processed today so system should provide CGID of today but if the order is for 110, then it goes to tomorrow's CGID. The capability should definitely exist somewhere because how else can you set the GATP to work accurately if you don't have restrictions enabled.
If such functionality do not exist, I want to understand what is the nearest capabilty that we can take advantage of.
    Thanks,
    Ali

The storage type customizing defines how you do capacity checks.
    No capacity check
    Check according to maximum weight
Check based on palletization accord. to SUT 1
Check based on maximum quantity per bin in storage type
    Usage check based on material
    Usage check based on SUT
Usage check based on material plus SUT
Based on these settings SAP allows maintenance of appropriate fields in create/change storage bin and uses those storage bin fields and fields from material master to calculate capacity values for the quant (table LQUA) and capacity usage in table LAGP.
Capacity calculation is a wide area  in WM, almost no customizing, small maintenance in master data, but a large area for creating errors in fields of table LQUA, LAGP while doing movements.
I recommend to read the single field helps (F1) and compare all with the info from OSS note 392776.

  • Overhead Calculation for Internal Order

    Hi Gurus,
I have created one internal order and made the reservations.
I have configured all Overhead Keys and Overhead Groups. I have also maintained the rates for the same.
Now while i m running the overhead calculation for internal order, I am getting below stated result:
    Y141  Machine Cost 5000 INR 100 KG Rs. 555.27
    Y142  Labour            60    INR 100 KG Rs. 1110.54
    Y143  Utility              60    INR 100 KG Rs. 2221.08
    Y144  QC/QA Exp     5000 INR 100 KG Rs.4,442.16
Now u can see that overheads are doubled evrytime. I have made the configuration perfectly. I m demn sure abt it.
But i think i m lacking somewhere because such kind of ridiculous overhead should not come.
Pls help me in this regard.
Hope to get back u frnds!!!!!!!!

  • ITunes is not syncing my music properly, and asks if I'm sure I want to "remove existing music, films...." no!

I have researched similar questions for this issue, but none of the solved answers seem to apply for me!
This is what shows up when I click on 'music' on 'my device'  (which is an iPhone 4s ios 8) it looks fine, but as you can see- some recently purchased songs have not synced properly, despite me already transferring purchased files. I wanted to delete and organize songs, but when I select a song- there's no option to delete i1! as well as this, the music shown here is not up to date with the music on my actual iPhone.
I then clicked on to the itunes library, and my music has not been synced there either. When I click sync music, it asks if I was to delete all of my existing music, films etc and I do not want that!
I searched for a similar scenario to this one, and one answer was to transfer devices and back up music before syncing and removing everything, but it didn't work for?
In desperate need of some help, I'm pretty clueless with the new iTunes and I just want to be able to have all of my music up to date and in sync!

Everything that is on your device should be in your library too. If that is not the case then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. See also Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy.
Once you have secured your content you can work on resolving the sync issue.
When the media on the device won't update as expected during a sync the method that usually works is this:
Export the contents of the camera roll. (You should do this routinely anyway.)
Backup the device, unless you have a recent backup that you would prefer to restore.
Restore as a new device. (The general restore process doesn't seem to clear things out before reloading, so there can be issues with missing artwork or incorrect capacity calculations.)
    Restore the chosen backup.
In some cases it might pay to use the recovery mode method given in HT201263: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch at step 3 to ensure that a device has been completely reset before reloading your content.

  • Rough cut planning in SOP for resource levelling

    Hello,
I am trying rough cut planning in SOP.
I have created rough cut planning profile for a product group by using MC35.
The task list exits for the product group.
In task list , work centre is maintained and the same is given while creating the rough cut profile.
This product group contains some part number.
    When I try Views--->capacity situation -> rough cut planning--->show.
    System gives error that -
    > No resource load found.
<u><b>Diagnosis given by system is as follows,</b></u>
This situation may be caused by one or more of the following:
    •     No PP task list (rough-cut planning profile, rate routing, or routing) corresponding to the Customizing selection criteria has been defined for this material/product group at this scheduling level.
    •     Resources planning has not been configured appropriately in Customizing.
    •     The information structure which you are planning has not been configured appropriately in Customizing.
    System Response
No capacity load could be determined.
    Procedure
    1. Check that a PP task list exists for this material/product group.
    2. Check that a lot size range has been maintained in the PP task list.
    3. Have your systems administrator check and, if necessary, change the resources planning settings in Customizing for Sales & Operations Planning (the steps "Scheduling levels" and "Routing selection").
    4. Have your systems administrator check that capacity planning has been defined for this information structure in Customizing.
Please let me know how to maintain the resource planning settings for scheduling level and routing selection.
    Waiting for your reply.
    Regards,
    Ravindra Deokule

    Hi Ravindra,
You can use t.code mc84 to create a product group.
Pl follow the following steps to do SOP with product group.
    1. Create a Product group in tcode MC84.
Enter a percentage for material say X & Y to be produced. X 40% & Y 60%. Total qty will be split in the ratio as per the %.
    2. Create Production Plan in tcode MC81.
    Enter the sales plan qty.
Then goto menu, edit & choose create Prodn Plan synchronus to sales.
    3. Create Rough cut Planning Profile in tcode MC35.
    4. Enter the Status ,Usage & lot size.
    5. Choose resources tab & then choose work center & enter work center name which you consider as a bottle neck & then enter the unit of measure as 'min'.
    6. Use MC82,
Choose inactive version and select your version.
    then goto menu->views> capacity situation>show
7.Check for over loads & adjust your qty acordingly.once the load becomes 100 % save.
    8. Change the inactive version to Active version in tcode MC78.
ie in the version enter the inactive version & in the target version enter'A00'
9.In mc82 choose active version, you can see that the plan is activated now.
10.In the menu choose extras & transfer to demand mgmnt.
11.You can see the requirement in the md62 transaction.
    12.Then run mrp.
Also regarding the unit of measure in t.code mc35,
If you select your resource as 'workcenter' & choose min or hour & then you enter 1(eg) in the first field against the work center. This means it takes 1 min or hour to produce 1pc(base quantity) in that particular workcenter(bottleneck workcenter)
Reg: Capacity calculation in mc87,follow the eg as above.Enter 1 min as time & base qty as 1 in mc35. Then check in mc87, you will get the load in %. ie if your work center is permitted to work for 8 hours/day & you pass a production plan of 480, then your load will match for 100%.

  • Confirmation based on Work center

    Hi,
Can we do Confirmation of Qty based on Work cetner?
Means that i have Order Qty for 100Pc.
in the same order i want to confirm the Qty in WC1 for 60PC and another Workcenter WC2 for 40 PC.
To check the utilization of Work centers
    is there any possibility?
    Please let me know
    Thanks
    Nag

    Hi
    Thanks for the response.
i made the changes in Single Screen Entry.
Here i need one clarification is that,
I have defined Workcenter in Prod.Order as WC1.
When  i go for Confirmation on the Operation wise, system has proposed WC1 (Which is from Prod.Order) for 100Qty.
While doing confirmation -> below the Personal i have given once WC2 and Qty 40.
    I saved the confirmation.
Next time while doing confirmation WC2 and Qty 60.
These data where will be saved and while doing Capacity Calculation how the system is going to calculate the available Capacity or Utilized Capacity.
    Please let me know

  • ITunes Match is syncing my music library using 3G but I have the option switched off.

    Hi,
I have found a problem syncing my music using iTunes Match and my iPhone has used 2GB of my data plan in a day. The steps to reproduce the problem are:
Precondition: iPhone is using iTunes Match and has a list a few songs in the cloud without syncing.
    Steps:
Switch on 3G connections in the settings. (Settings > General > Mobile data > Mobile data & 3G ON)
Start syncing a list of music.
Switch off the option to use data plan to sync music (Settings > Music > Use data plan > OFF)
Result: iPhone continues downloading all the songs of the list using my data plan.
Expected result: iPhone stops syncing the music because there is only a 3G connection and the option is switched off.
This is why I would like to make a complaint to Apple. How can I do it?
    Thanks.

  • Use of Phases

Hi why do we use phases.
"Phases are used for scheduling, determining capacity requirements, and costing. The
dates and capacity requirements for operations are derived from the corresponding
    phases."
This is what I found in help. all this can be done  using a regular operation.
what is  the specefic reason in assiglning Process instructions to Phases insted of assigning them to regular operations.

    Hi,
Phases concept use in proces indusrry like chemicasl , pharma ,food ,petrolieum industry .
In this industry operation is overall activity you are doing in one resource & then their are phases in which you can define actual activity you are doing like charging of raw material ,temprature maantainence ,distillation .Seperation .All this activity require different timings & also capturing different activity cost like seam, power ,cooling water ,brine.
Many time client want to capture timings & activity to capture phase wise theirfore it is mandatory in SAP .
Even if you are doing only one activity in operation you have to create phase in recipe.is amust to capture timings & activity cost.
After adding phases you can be able to schedule the order ,capacity calculation
You have to give phase relation to this phase in recipe  to schedule the order during creation of order.

  • Convert to Pur Requisition

    Hi all
Please help me.Now I can't try on system.
I haven't created Vendor Master , Source List, Info Records.
Can I convert Plan Order to Purchase Requisition ?
    Thank and best regards,

    Planned Order
A planned order is sent to a plant and is an MRP request for the procurement of a particular material at a determined time. It specifies when the inward material movement should be made and the quantity of material that is expected.
A planned order has the following characteristics:
1 It is a procurement proposal in MRP for requirements coverage, that is, an internal planning element. It is not binding and does not therefore trigger procurement directly, but serves for planning purposes.
    2. It can be changed or deleted at any time (exceptions: planned orders for direct production and for direct procurement).
    3. Whether a material will later be produced in-house or procured externally is left open.
    4. For materials produced in-house, it represents the pegged requirement for dependent requirements and can be used in the capacity calculation.
    5. For materials produced in-house, it specifies the basic dates for production.
Planned orders are converted into production orders for in-house production and into purchase requisitions for external procurement. In contrast to planned orders, production orders and purchase requisitions are fixed receipt elements, which commit to the procurement.
    Automatic Creation of Planned Orders
During the planning run, the system automatically calculates the materials to be procured as well as the requirements quantity and date. The system then creates the corresponding planned order.
The system also explodes the BOM for materials that are produced in-house and uses the BOM components as material components for the planned order. The system creates a corresponding dependent requirement for these components. If the quantity or the date of the planned order changes or if the bill of material changes, the bill of material is re-exploded in the next planning run and the dependent requirements of the material components are adjusted accordingly.
You can determine in Customizing for MRP in the IMG activity Define consumption mode and period of adjustment that no planned orders are to be created within a particular period of time for planned independent requirements, for which no firmed receipt elements or firmed procurement proposals exist. The system then creates planned orders for customer requirements only. You can determine this for each plant or for each MRP group.
    Manual Creation of Planned Orders
You can also create planned orders manually. For this, you determine which material should be procured, the quantity of material to be procured, the date it should be available and whether it is to be procured externally or internally.
If you create or change a planned order manually, you can also explode the BOM manually and adjust the material components.
    Structure
    The planned order consists of
    1. order data (quantities, dates, account assignment, material data, procurement data and so on)
    2. component overview (see also Process Components in Planned Order).
Reward points if it is helpful.

    Anbu
