Capture livecache values in planning area level.

Hi Experts,
We have got a typical requirement, where we need to capture livecache values for safetystock(SAFTY) KEYFIGURE maintained for a particular product, location and planning area.
we are using function module BAPI_PBSRVAPS_GETDETAIL2 to retrieve the required results. Every thing is working fine but to retrieve the required value , we have to pass mandatory parameters (planning book ,data view and Selection ID as mentioned below) into the BAPI.
Issue:- This will work for interactive planning for a particular planning book, data view and selection ID but not for "Mass processing". We have searched and tested different BAPIs but could not get the required one.
So, would like to know if there is any class method or bapi or normal functional module where we can pass planning area, product and location to capture livecache values for safetystock(SAFTY) KEYFIGURE maintained based on Macro.

I think it doesnt make a difference, The Keyfigure values are not Planning book or Dataview specific, they are only planning area specific. So if there is a value in one Planning book/dataview the same value will be seen in any planning book or dataview within the same planning area. Also, it is not mandatory to use the selection id. Instead you can use the it_selection internal table under the tables parameter of the BAPI.

Rounding value at MRP area level

Hi All,
We are using MRP areas at storage location level. Also we have maintained rounding value , one at plant level in mRP1 view and one at MRP area level for that particular storage location.
Now when we run MRP for that storage location specific MRP area one would assume that it picks up the rounding value maintained in that MRp area,but it is picking up the value maintained at plant level.
Am I missing some setting or is it std. system behaviour..pl. advise.

Can you give more detail of your solution? I have the same problem, MRP is creating requisitions using the lot size parameters from the MRP area but when converting to an STO using ME21N the lot size parameters from the plant are applied.
This usually increases the PO quantity beyond the PR quantity and I get an error message "06076 - Materials of requisition & item & alr. ordered in full"
It's driving me crazy so any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Transfer variable values via ABAP betweenn planning areas

Hello,
I'm using an ABAP-coding (BPS How-To 'variables type user-exit) for transferring variable values between planning areas. It works fine for single-, multi- and interval-selection, but not for single hierarchie nodes.
I don't want to transfer the values beneath the nodes but the node itself. Has anyone experience with that or changed the ABAP-Coding.
Note, I'm using a variable type hierarchie as destination and get always a dump, when the ABAP is executed.

Load from cube to planning area

Hi,
We are facing a problem in loading data from Cube to planning area, we need to distinguish between the Zero and the blank values in planning area when loading data from cube to planning area.
Scenario is like this.
For a CVC u2013A on day D I am having key figure value as blank and on D1 is Zero and on D2 is 2, I want the same to appear as my planning area data If I load this data to cube my day D value will appear as Zero (but it was blank) and on D1 Zero and on D2 as 2 in cube.
I am using Std T-code /SAPAPAO/TSCUBE to load data from cube to planning area, in std T-code we are having option of ignore Zero, if I use this it will also stops the actual zero value(which I need) on day D+1 to come in to planning area which I donu2019t want.
I want my planning area data to be as blank on day D and Zero on D1 and 2 on D2 after loading data from cube to planning area..
Can any one put some light and help me out from this issue.

I am not sure to understand completely the issue: do you have an issue in the cube or in the planning area?
In order to differentiate a blank for a zero in the planning area, you need to set the flag "zero allowed" in the planning area settings. (in the tab keyfigure, click details, then for each key figure you can select or not the flag "zero allowed")
When you load the data, you should indeed not flag "ignore zero value"
If the issue you have is in your cube (between the file and the cube) then it is another matter...

Getting an error while activating a planning area "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level"

Dear S&OP community,
I am getting following error while creating a planning ares in a newly installed sandbox. "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level".
This what I did...
1) Created new attributes and master data objects and activated them successfully.
2) Time profile created and activated successfully
3) Trying to create planing area by assigning time profile in step 2 and assigned master data from step1..Unable to save the data and system returns
this error - "Enter values for planning horizon From and planning horizon To for the storage time profile level"
My understanding is time profile needs to be active but doesn't have to have values...
Any help is appreciated.

Please create a query (tcode SQVI) on tables UPC_PLEVEL and UPC_OPTIOS. The join will be on field GUID. Select all the fields as available for display and selection. UPC_OPTIOS has the selection values maintained for the level. Please put in
UPC_OPTIOS-FIELDNAME = 0UVERSION
UPC_OPTIOS-SIGN = I
UPC_OPTIOS-LOW = 220
this will give you all the levels that have the said value

How to make authorization to different planning level on one planning area?

now the situation is one planning area call one global company, under that we create several planning level for serveral sub-company. The authorization should that one sub-comp. only can display, change his planning level, and can not display any other sub-comp. So, in this case how to make authorization? Thanks!

How to capture the values that are being passed to a function module?

While executing the transaction SBWP to send a document the FM 'SO_DYNP_SHORT_MESSAGE' gets triggered as soon as the SEND button is pressed would anybody please let me know how i can capture the values that are being passed to it in the process of sending a document?

well, I'm not asking you to explain about how an implicit enhancement can be done. i was just referring to the two options posted in the reply. Is there any other way out apart from the implicit enhancement option. i do find class CL_BS useful as the Method ADD_RECIPIENT gets triggered . even though there's no attachment option in the screen that pops up after the method ADD_RECIPIENT is triggered. would anybody suggest me as how to proceed further to capture the values though without attachment details

Transport of BPS planning area (variables) without transp. all pl. levels

Hi!
Can anybody advice me, how to transport new variables which I have created to a planning area, without transporting all planning levels which belong to it?
I transported a few planning levels that include the new variables I created to the planning area. As a result, the planning levels are transported but the new variables are missing. I don´t want to transport the whole planning area, since it contains a development which is not ready yet. Can I transport the missing variables with SE15 (how?) or is there some other way to do it?

Please execute program UPC_TRANSPORT_BPS_ALL and transport your variables without transporting any level or area.

Non zero values in the extraction of the planning area

In our DP implementation we have been trying to extract 2 key figures from the planning area, one of the key figures might have zero values, when we set the indicator for the non zero values then it only eliminates the records for which both the key figure are zero but that is not what I want. I am trying to have a setting in the data source where we can reject the records even if one of the key figure has zero values.
Are there any settings for that while we are generating the data source.

Hi Colin,
This can be easily solved using a slightly different ABAP routine. You can assign the fields that you need to check into other field symbols and then check the value of those field symbols.
Here's one possible solution. I based in from the ABAP code you posted.
field-symbols: <LS_EXTR_BLOCK> TYPE any,
                     <ls_fcst> type any,
                     <ls_hist> type any.
data: w_pos type sy-tabix.
loop at ct_data assigning <LS_EXTR_BLOCK>.
w_pos = sy-tabix.
assign component '/BI0/9AVCORFCST'
   of STRUCTURE <LS_EXTR_BLOCK> to <ls_fcst>.
assign component '/BI0/9AVCORHIST'
   of STRUCTURE <LS_EXTR_BLOCK> to <ls_hist>.
if <ls_fcst> = 0 and <ls_hist> = 0.
delete ct_data index w_pos.
endif.
endloop.
Aside from the solution above, you can also define the structure of CT_DATA (that's basically the structure of the extract structure of your datasource). You can then assign the contents of CT_DATA to a field-symbol and the delete data using that field symbol.
Here's an example:
TYPES:
TY_DATA_TABLE type table of *PUT THE NAME OF YOUR EXTRACT STRUCTURE HERE*.
field-symbols:
<FS_DATA_TABLE> type TY_DATA_TABLE.
DELETE <FS_DATA_TABLE> WHERE /bi0/9avcorfcst = 0
and /bi0/9avcorhist = 0.
You can check the name of the extract structure by viewing table /SAPAPO/TSAREAEX field EXPORT_STRU. You can also see the name of the extract structure in debug mode by looking at the value of the parameter IV_DDIC_REFERENCE.

You must have gone to SE37 transaction to check this function module and you must have checked the import parameters on the the import tab.
When we call this fiunction module in Z program, we need to ensure that data is supplied so that import parameters are taken and data is updated in MDMA table.

Multiple keyfigure from different planning area based on the attribute value of Cost element charac.
I need to obtain the value of the attribute in a fox function. Let me explain it further.
Background :
Planning area -
Charac----
KF
area1 -
Payscale group--- Amount
Cost element------AmountVR
area2--Payscalegroup----KF1
KF2
KF3
Cost Element has an attribute "Type"
Value for attribute "Type" = 1,2,3
Based on the value of the attribute, the corresponding KF needs to be multiplied.
Logic :
If type = 1.
AmountVR = Amount * KF1.
elseif type = 2.
AmountVR = Amount * KF2.
elseif type = 3.
AmountVR = Amount * KF3.
endif.
The problem I'm facing is that I'm not able to read the data of attribute "Type". None of the below statement retrieve the value of the "Type".
TYPE = ATRV(Attribute,COSTELEMENT,CO_AREA)
or
TYPE = ATRV(Attribute,COSTELEMENT)
Could you please help me in reading from a time dependent compounding InfoObject?

Planning area data not updated in infocube in APO system

Hi all,
User is uploading a flat file using addon program to an infocube 1, from this infocube data for sales forecast KF is getting transferred to a planning area KF using standard program RTS_INPUT_CUBE. I can see the updated data in Planning book (which refer the same planning area) data views. In planning book the sales forecast data is also getting copyied to second KF 'Arrangement FC' and its correct.
Now there is a infocube 2 (second) which is getting data directly from this planning area (infocube also contains both KFs). But When i checked this infocube 2 , the updated data is availabe in Sales forecast KF , but arrangement forecast KF is having old data only and user is running query on second KF , so he is getting wrong report.
Since there is no data flow for this infocube 2, and it is getting data from planning area, I feel its remote infocube.
I have also found the datasource for this planning area but don't know how to move further to find why data is not updating properly? Please help on this.
I have information that 2 weeks before data was properly updated, but this time data is not updated,
system version is SAP SCM 4.0

it is advisable to run the background jobs when the planning books are not being accesses by the users to prevent such inconsistencis. Hence i would advise you to run the jobs durng non-working hours. and if you have a global system, then you may restrict to run the jobs based on regional levels.
in addition, it is also a good practice to run consistency jobs before and after your have completed the background jobs. i hope you are using process chains to execute the sequeuce of jobs. if yes, then you can add consistency check jobs in the process chains.
some of the consistency check reports are :
/SAPAPO/OM17 - liveCache Consistency Check
/SAPAPO/TSCONS - Consistency Check for Time Series Network
/SAPAPO/CONSCHK - Model Consistency Check
and so and so forth..
you can find these conssistency jobs under APO Adiminstration --> Consistency checks in APO.

Loading data from Cube to Planning area

If I am loading data from a cube to a planning area using transaction TSCUBE,
does the system load data into planning area for the combinations that exist in the cube or does it load for all CVCs?
For example,
I have my CVC as Plant, Material, Customer
If there are 4 CVCs in the POS that were previously generated as
Plant--Material--Customer

C1
01--M2--
C3
01--M2--
C2
01--M4--
C5
If the cube has data like this:
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.

01--M2C3--
20
01--M2C2--

(doesnot have the last combination), then if I use TSCUBE transaction to load data to Planning area from this cube,
is the data loaded as
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.
01--M1C1--
10
01--M2C3--
20
01--M2C2--
5
Only for the 3 combinations that exist in the cube and not load anything for the last one
OR
is the data loaded as
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.
01--M1C1--

Load all 4 combinations and send 0 as the cube doesnot have this combination?

Thanks a lot Vinod, Srinivas and Harish. The reason why I am asking you is that we have a scenario where we get this situation.
We initially get data from R/3 to BW to APO like the below:
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.
01--M1C1--
10
Later when the customer is changed or bought out by somebody C1 is changed to C2. Some times when the business doesnot know who the customer is initially they just put C1 as dummy and then after sometime replace it by C2. Then the new record coming in is as follows:
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.
01--M1C2--
10
BW can identify changes in transaction data but not in Master data. What I mean by this is when Qty. 10 changes from 10 to 20, the system can identify it in deltas.
If the customer (master data) changes to C2 from C1, the system thinks it's a new record all together then if I use delta loads, it gets me the following:
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.
01--M1C1--
10
01--M1C2--
10
If I am looking at Plant and Material Level, my data is doubled.
So we are planning to do a full load that works like this:
1. Initial data like the below:
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.
01--M1C1--
10
The CVC is created and the planning area has Qty.10
Then we delete the contents of cube and do a full load into the cube with changed customer
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.
01--M1C2--
10
This time a new CVC is created. Then we have another 10 loaded into Planning area.
If the system loads all CVCs, then the it would send
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.
01--M1C1--
0
01--M1C1--
10
If the system loads only combinations in cube,
then it loads
Plant--MaterialCustomer----Qty.
01--M1C2--
10
But the system already has another 10 for Customer C1 duplicating the values.
We are trouble in the second case.
We had to go fr this solution instead of realignment as our business has no way pf knowing that C1 was replaced by C2.

download one key figure data from planning book ( interactive damand plan) and made some changes and need to upload the data back to same planning book
But, may I know why you are thinking of downloading, changing and uploading for just changing the figures for a particular key figure. You can do it in the planning book itself.
However, not all the key-figures can be changed. But, what type of key-figure you are speaking here? Is it like 'Forecast' for which the value is based on other key-figures, or is like a key-figure where some manual adjustments are to be done--so that it can be manually edited? However, in both the cases, the data can be changed in the planning book only. In first case, you can change the values of dependant key-figures and in the second case, you can change the key-figures directly.
And please note that you can change the values of the key-figures only at the detailed level. So, after loading the data in the book, use drill-down option, maintain the data at the detailed level, change the figures, and automatically, this gets reflected at the higher level.
In case you are unable to change the values, go to the 'Design' mode of the book, right-click your key-figure, under "Selected Rows", uncheck "Output Only" option. In case you are unable to see that option, then you are not authorised to change that. See if you can change the authorisations by going to the "Data View" tab in planning book configuration (/n/sapapo/sdp8b), and change the value of Status to 3.
