CAT 2950 console terminal issue

I recently picked up a CAT 2950 switch, everything "seems" to run fine, LEDs are green and I am able to make a console connection. My issue is that the console connection does not last more than 15 seconds before closing/timing out, also the close time seems to be varible but never more than 15 seconds. I am able to enter exec mode, global configuration mode along with configuring the console interface to never timeout but that does not seem to help.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, I am unable to clear

Here is about 15 seconds worth of the IOS booting, after I had to create a new console terminal connection to see it.
User mode:
Switch>Switch>Switch>Switch>
So it operates just for 15 seconds.
Any suggestions?

Write erase clears the startup-config in nvram but you must not save the running config afterwards.
Just "wr era" and power cycle or reload.

The message genrally indicates to avoid for packet to move to radius/tacas server.so that login can happen via local database.

FSCM via WS-RM (without PI ) - Update termination issue

Hello experts .
We are trying to integrate SD with FSCM ( credit management) using WS-RM (without PI).
Details of the issue and steps followed so far.
Ideal Scenario :
Once we create / change a sales order ( in SD ) , the interface Creditworthinessquery_out (WS Consumer ) gets triggered (in SD) and the subsequent response CREDITWORTHINESSQUERY_IN(Provider) is triggered from FSCM (with the details of creditworthiness).Once the query response in received an notification is triggered from SD to FSCM (asynchronous service).
After receiving the query response the functionality of credit check happens while creating / changing the sales order .
Configuration steps followed in SOAMANAGER
We have created end points for all the relevant service interfaces (Providers) , and also created logical ports for the respective consumers.
During the creation of logical ports - for the consumers we used the WSDL (of the providers) as the inbound message action.
(This has been done to all the services query , notification that are relevant in our integration).
Current behavior / issue .
While creating sales order the sales order is not getting saved (getting updated in the database).System allows us to complete the sales order creation process and also we get a message as sales order saved successfully. But then there is a update terminated express document that pops up. Sales order is not getting updated in the database.
When I see the logs/traces in SOAMANAGER I see that the query out is successful , query in has the right response (in warning state though) . But no notification is being triggered ?? 
How to overcome this update termination issue ?

Finally we are able to solve the update termination issue . But again we are using a work around .
Situation :
Once we executed the VA01 transaction we were getting update termination issue . After lots of debuggung we found that system was trying to get the Business system details ( Own business system data ) . The table lcrt_clntcache had no values.
Solution
We inserted appropriate values in the Table LCRT_CLNTCACH (business system data ) and now it works .This is a work around we got as of now.Credit checks are happening successfully and also integration is good .
(typically if we define business system in SLD (PI) , and run SLD_CHECK , this table gets populated , but in our case we are not using PI instead we are using WS-RM)
But now few questions arise .
a) Why do we need a business system in case we are not using PI ( typically we define business system and technical system in PI ) and instead using WS-RM ?
b) Is it a good practice to update the table ( as did in workaround above )?
c) Is this any bug and needs to be consulted with SAP ?
Please let me know your views .

Cat 2950 and Notel wireless AP problem

Connected with 12 Notel wireless Access Point 7220 and 7215, my company's Cat 2950 is sufferring a system crash problem. Once the AP losing and regainning power, they will seek for the
authentication to the wireless gateway 2250, and if the 2250 fail to authenticate these AP, they will keep rebooting, resulting in the whole Cat 2950 crash. The following is from the crashinfo:

The first thing you might want to try is upgrading the 2950 code , that is very old code .The latest is 12.1.22-EA5a .

Connecting Cat6509 to Cat 2950

Connecting a Cat 2950 to a Cat 6509 using a cross over cable. This comes up as trunk but I dont want it to.
When it was first connected, it led to some spanning tree errors as the port vlan at both ends were different. On the C2950, I had vlan 1 and on the C6509, I had Vlan 211. I change the port vlan to 1 on the C6509 and then this was ok but now it is trunking.
I dont want to trunk on these port. What I want it to create a connection as a normal access port in say vlan 211.
How do I do this?
And then after doing the above, will routers connected to the switch be able to talk to each other via vlan 211?
I am running CatOS on the 6509 and IOS on the 2950.

thats not the intention for Quickstart to replace a full system, like Windows or Linux , only for fast access internet,messaging,picture view,listen music...but not more...

Benefits are... will not destroy the recover function of your current system.. if didnt want it anymore you could easy deinstall the system like a normal windows program, via de-install...

To resolve this problem, please follow the steps below:
Access to the path below to find the shortcut of Windows PowerShell:

Right click Windows PowerShell and choose Properties.
Switch to Options, check if Current code page list there, if that it is, choose
437 (OEM-United States) and click Apply. Maybe you will encounter an
Access Deniedpop-up as the following picture. Then you need take ownership of current PowerShell File, switch to
Security Tab and obtain full control permission for current User Account.

This issue is due to the bootmgr file, we cannot use the bootmgr file of Windows 7 to find the Windows 8 Operating System files.
The Windows 7 bootmgr can indeed boot Windows 8.

802.1x RADIUS authentication problem with Cat 2950 to CiscoSecure ACS 3.3

I wondered if anyone can help or shed any light on the following problem.
I am getting an authentication error when doing a RADIUS authentication to CiscoSecure ACS 3.3 running on a Windows 2003 server, the authentication request is coming from a Catalyst 2950 switch which is doing 802.1x for Windows XP clients. This problem only happens when the XP client connects to 2950 switches, Cat 3550s and 3560s work fine.
The Cat2950 is running 12.1.20 (EA1) which is more or less the latest IOS.
The error I get from ACS 3.3 is "Invalid message authenticator in EAP request" when the 2950 tries to authenticate an XP client for 802.1x to the ACS server using RADIUS.
Doing a RADIUS and 802.1x debug on the 2950 I see a message about 'Unknown EAP type', I am using PEAP on the XP client doing EAP-MS-CHAPv2 authentication, the same XP client authenticates fine with 3550 and 3560 switches problem only affects 2950s. Can anyone confirm the 2950 supports EAP-MS-CHAPv2?
I have checked and re-checked the shared secret and it definitely matches on 2950 and ACS.
One thing I noticed in the RADIUS debug is the 2950 sends 18 bytes for attribute 79 when the RFC defines attribute 79 should be 3 bytes or less, I don't know if this is related to the problem or is correct behaviour.

Hi, I am new with 802.1x, and was hoping that someone would help with these queries:
1. How is a certificate requested without being allowed on a network that is not authenticated with 802.1x. I had to first connect to an active network, retrieve a certificate with the proper username and password, and then physically connect to the port on the 2950 switch which was enabled to do 802.1x
2. My config is as below:
aaa new-model
aaa authentication dot1x default group radius
aaa authenication login default group radius
dot1x system-auth-control
interface f0/1
switchport mode access
dot1x port-control auto
end
I able to login using the radius server, so radius is working (on ports other than f1/0). However when connecting to f1/0, the port on the 2950 remains blocked.
3. The certificate is issued by the ca server, is viewable via Internet explorer,and is issued to the correct username which is on the active directory.
I even tried using local authenication with 802.1x, this did not work
4. If I have a certificate, will this automatically give me access to the 802.1x port?
5. I have windows 2000, and authenication is set to 'Smart Card or other certificate.
Am I missing anything?
Any advise will be greatly appreciated

There can be various reason for these kind of termination. Normally this due Number range overlapping or Object requested is currently locked by some other user. If you have used TCode SM13. Then you might have checked the reason why the 'Termination' Message appeared. So, there you can check ABAP run time errors is cause. If you can post :
- Status
- Class (mandatory)
- Number (mandatory)
- Error Details
In that case, we will be in better position to assist you.

Date and Time stamp wrong in Console / battery issue?

Since April the date stamp in Console reads 12/31/69. The date and time on the system is correct. I know these are current Console logs. My battery did go bad around this date, but I bought a new one and have had no power issues.
Also kernel task seems to be running high -- any connection?
Here's a small sampling of the console log from the point where it changed:

Toll Free termination issues

Over the past several days I've had issues with calling several toll free numbers which end up in the Cincinnati area. Called the toll free provider and they don't see an issue but said they look like dropped calls coming into their network from an interconnect. A few friends have also noticed the issue as well. We make a call to the toll free. The call will ring a few times then disconnect. Almost like a time out or something. Any ideas or known issues?

No. It seems to be several toll free numbers. I can only make it happen when calling via verizon wireless. I opened a ticket with vwsupport and they looked at several things then sent it on to the network guys. I also have had conversations with the toll free owner and carrier. They are seeing the issue coming into them and trying to sort it out from that direction as well. Must be an issue either in the vw core network or some intermediate between you and the terminating carrier, which I think in this case is Cincinnati Bell Any Distance.

How to I get back from shell named "cat" to default Terminal? This is from a failed RVM (Ruby) installation.

I tried to install RVM with an About.com guide. Now the terminal is labeled cat at the top after flashing login and bash. It won't run anything I type. I think it's because one of the steps told me to enter this:

ASA5510 ASDM 6.0 GUI console login issue

HI All,
I have Cisco5510 running with ADSM 6.0 version, I was able to access it fine since few months but suddenly I am unable to login through that.
Its prompting for username and password and loading it to 100% but not opening the GUI console.
I feel this could be the JAVA version issue but with the same version of JAVA I am able run another ASA 5520 which is running with 6.4ASDM version.
Request you to suggest the right JAVA version to run 5510 with ASDM 6.0 GUI console, else if I am wrong on this suggest the solution to close this issue.

Have you tried to update the ASDM? It is mostlikely a Java issue, but it would be a good idea to update the ASDM to the same version. We have noticed issues with old versions of ASDM running newer versions of Java.
Give it a try and let us know.

DSM Terminator issue - when exiting, user sees "about blank" screen

This issue is being experienced by two of our Portal users. When the user exits the portal, they get an "about blank" internet explorer page that is minimized in the Windows taskbar. When viewing the "about blank" page properties, there is no information about the page. It allows you to maximize it into a blank white screen or close it out. Also, before this page is loaded, when exiting the Portal a quick screen flashes before the Portal screen closes. The screen basically says
****Closing sessions... Transmission protocol, DSM Terminator v.6.060 (sync) (long portal address) Request PREPARED for sending via client (Finished 1 request(s) distributed*****
Both users experience this issue everytime they exit their Portals. We have tried numerous troubleshooting measures to fix the problem and we've isolated it to their specific computers, not their usernames. We have had this before and reformatting does fix the issue, but we want to know how to avoid reformatting and just fix the one issue. We've scanning the computer for spyware/viruses, checked their startup configuration, cleaned temp/temp internet/cookies, tried different user names. Thanks for your help on this!

First off the DSM terminator window is completely normal. This is client side javascript that closes the connection to R3. This can be run server side if you need it to but doesn't work if the connection is done over SSL.
As far as the popup window, I would try and restore the defaul IE settings.
