CH561W - Is it MICR by default?
Hello all!
I bought an MICR printer last year and need to get new black ink. The MICR print cartridge is an HP61 (CH561W). When I look up this code to purchase, the ink comes up as the right one, but does not say it is MICR ink.
It is important that it is MICR as I use it to print checks.
Does anyone know specifics of this print cartridge?
Thanks in advance for you response!
-S
Did you ever find this answer? I'm on the phone with Apple Care and they want $695 for a support call. We're a small company and having issues.... so $700 for a one time call is out of our budget.
Our issues are:
I have added domains to whitelist... they still get marked as **SPAM**.
Spam learning is dependent on redirecting mail to the junkmail and notjunkmail accounts... which is great but we're a mixed environment. Not everyone has redirect feature.
What I want to do...
Get Whitelisting to work.
Then create a server side rule to move anything marked **SPAM** to that user's junk folder.
Next allow spamassassin to access each user's junk folder and learn from anything in there.
if anyone knows how to do those or knows of a great how-to I don't care to read one bit. So far my search for this information is coming up short.

MICR font not displayed in PDF on SUSE Linux Server for Check Writer (XML)
We are generating checks by running the Check Writer(XML) concurrent request and are not able to see MICR fonts on the Check. We downloaded the free version from IDAutomationSMICR.ttf and the fonts were registered under /usr/local/fonts/micr directory. I registered in APPS and uploaded the file IDAutomationSMICR.ttf. Am I missing any steps. The DBA's have registered the fonts under /usr/local/fonts/micr on SUSE Linux Server . The custom Checks are generated but no luck with the fonts. Please advise. Can I download MICR fonts other than IDAutomation site? Appreciate your response.
Thanks,
HariI use version 11i, so the steps are probably different. Download a font file (gnuMICR for me). Extract it to a location of your choice on your operating system.
Follow these steps to load the MICR font to the server. (Step 11 was missing in some of the metalink documents in late 2007. I think Jan. 2008 will be OK).
1. Log in as XML Publisher Administrator.
2. Navigate to Administration->Font Files->Create Font File.
3. Fields are Font Name and File. For Font Name choose any descriptive name. File will browse your PC to locate the font file.
4. Navigate to Font Mappings->Create Font Mapping Set.
5. Mapping name is the name you will give to a set of fonts. [MICR Font]
6. Mapping code is the internal name you will give to this set. [MICR]
7. Type: 'PDF Form' for PDF templates. 'FO to PDF' for all other template types.
8. Create Font Mapping (this allows you to add multiple fonts to a set).
9. Font Family is the exact same name you see in Word under Fonts. If you don't use the same name the font will not be picked up at runtime. [GnuMICR]
10. Style and weight must also match how you use the font in Windows. Normal and Normal are good defaults. [Normal, Normal]
11. DO NOT enter Language or Territory
12. Choose a value for Font Type. [Truetype]
13. Search for the Font you just created in step 3. [GnuMICR]
14. Navigate to Configuration -> FO Processing -> Font Mapping Set. Can also be done at data def and template level under Edit Configuration. Hierarchy is Site-> Data Def -> Template.
15. Select your new mapping set.
16. Make sure the font is not referenced under File->Properties->Custom in the RTF template file.
17. Select a temporary directory on your concurrent processing node (Configuration -> General). This needs to be a private area not shared by other processes, read writeable by the applmgr (owner of the $APPL_TOP file system). It should be fairly large 5 GB or 20x larger than any datafile being used. The fonts will be downloaded here the first time they are used.
18. Also at this site level select your font mapping set.
19. Upload a template that uses your special font and test using preview. -

Cheque printing using MICR fonts on HP P3005n series
Hi,
I am doing a HCM implementation on ERP 6.0 ehp3 server. We need to print cheques using the MICR fonts on HP P3005n printer.
I found that MICR_C and MICR_E fonts are already installed in the system. But when we try to print, the MICR characters are not getting printed.
I have tried with different device types like TROYMICR, HPLJMI, HP5MI, ZHPP3005 but no luck. The printer uses the toner MICR-THN-51A
Where could be the problem? Do i need to do some more configuration in SAP or is printer needs to be configured?
Please help me as we are in testing phase and as the cheques are not printed we are stuck.
Is it necessary to use TROY or Jetmobile printer to print MICR characters?
Your inputs will be highly appreciated.
ThanksHi Naithan,
If you are facing this problem pls install HP default printer in SAP. I hope you will not getting this problem.
Can you tell me the cheque prining setting in DMP printer or Laser printer. Please check this with your abaper programmer. If setting in DMP then you have to use DMP printer.

PDF Adobe Cheque using Payment Medium Workbench- MICR, Page overflow issues
Hi All,
We developed a PDF Adobe form for CHEQUE assigned using Payment Medium Workbench CHECK format.
The issues I am facing are
1. MICR symbols(in transit, BSB...) not printing however the numerals 0 to 9 is printing in MICR font. (installed MICR font in ADS to design the form)
2. The option of DO NOT VOID CHECKS for overflow/test prints is not available in PMW. As I thought of using prenumbered stationary because of MICR font issues, where I need to void the cheque if it overflows to the next page. Getting the form output is not an issue, however PAYR is not updated with void details. By default, PMW is not voiding cheques for overflow in the cheque register.
3. Is there any option to assign PDF Cheque form by using RFFOUS_C payment medium program.
Please let me know your comments if you have come across any of these issues.
Thanks,
Prabha -

I belive this issue can be resolved by changing the Query proprties for the perticular field.
Kindly check the Field proerties in query designer and ensure that Text is enabled ather than Key.
__Field property check up:__Go to query designer->click onn the field-> Right hand side in properties click on display tab-> select Text in drop down menu of Display as tab.
FURTHER CHECK UP: check the master data avaiulability for the perticular info object, if masterdata is not available, do the text data for txt data availability in report level.
Hope this helps you!!

hi,
I have created a table as below.
CREATE TABLE student
( Rollno CHAR(8),
Name VARCHAR2(20),
Fees DECIMAL(12,2) DEFAULT 100.00
can someone please explain the effects of the following insert statements.
a] insert into student values('c123','Patrick');
b] insert into student values('c123','Patrick',NULL);
Will both of them have different effects on the values entered into the table? And what will be entered into the columns in both the cases.

How to get ALL values as default for a drop down box in JSF
Hi,
I have a drop down box in JSF page which retrieves values from LOVCache.java. I have values like Company, Client, User, ALL in the drop down box.
By default blank value is selected for the drop down box. I want to make ALL(which retrieves data for all the values) as default value for the drop down box.
Could any body help me? Any help must be appreciated.
Thanks,
AseetThanks Nikhil. But I am fetching the values from the LOVCache.java.
I am using <af:selectManyChoice>. Is there any way I can use LOVCache.java value for selecting default values instead of hard coding?
I mean to say can I write
unselectedLabel="#{LOVCache.entityTypeSelectionList.anyValue}"
where LOVCache.entityTypeSelectionList is used to populate the drop down box.

ACS 5.3 Default Backup Password
When doing a backup on any of the ACS 5.x appliances by default the backup is encrypted with PGP. What password is used for that? Is it configurable?
It is not configurable and that information wasnt made public. However, when you restore it should be able to decrypt it just fine.
You can try opening a TAC case but when I was in TAC wasnt able to find that key either.
Thanks,
Tarik Admani

Does iTunes have a default password for initial encrypted backups?
I have an iPhone that was connected to iTunes for the first time today. It is a company device and IT has set a policy to require backups to be encrypted.
When I first plugged the phone in, iTunes automatically did a backup as it had never seen the device before. Due to a software issue, Apple recommended that I do a restore to factory settings and then restore from backup, so once the initial backup was completed, I performed the restore to factory just fine. However, when I attempted to restore from backup, I was prompted for a password even though I was never prompted for a password when iTunes created the backup. I have tried every password I can think of including my company domain password, iTunes password, iPhone passcode, etc...etc...to no avail.
Does anyone know if there is some default password that iTunes using when doing an initial backup without prompting the user for a password?Caronold -
I have the same problem when i updated to iOS6 3days ago from iOS5.1.1. I've tried every passwords i can think of but NO luck.
Even the folks at genious bar said : good luck!!

Spry Collapsible panel - open and closed default question...
I am using a Spry Collapsible panel in a vertical nav menu (DW CS4) and it's in a template for my site. I want it to be closed as default on the Home page, but when a visitor clicks to open it and selects their option, I would like it to remain open on the selected page - Is there a way to do this?
Thank you all!
