Change ItmCatg of Phantom to prevent Production Order?

When receiving data from an external ordering system via an interface, at order creation time, I don't know if the components are spare parts being ordered individually or if the components must be assembled (production order). If I could initially set the item category for the Phantom material to something other than TAP I think I could control when the production order is generated via the schedule line's movement type.  The only way I have found that allows me to change the item category on the phantom is when the phantom material does NOT have a strategy.
I would appreciate any suggestions for being able to change from assembly to non-assembly after the sales order is created (via the interface).
Thank you!
Katie Tidwell

Followup on my question....
Is there a strategy type that I could put on the Phantom material so that the production order isn't automatically created when the sales doc is saved? After the interface creates the sales doc, order analysts will review the order to determine if the order is complete and could then change the item category of the phantom to denote that the lower level items are to be assembled.  If the order analyst deletes the phantom, the lower level items are also deleted (not good!).
Thanks to everyone who tries to help me!

  • Add/change multiple operations on a released Production Order

How can I add/change multiple operations on a released Production Order...I know how to add them manually one by one but is there a better way to add...like copy/paste since i am adding operations from an alternate route? Please advise?

    Hy Aziz,
In process order go to operation screen go to Operation - Include Master recipe, then one pop up comes select required Master recipe and add operations of your interest.
But there are some restriction which doesn/t allow it if Inspection Lot, Control Recipe are created..

  • Changing basic finish date in Preventive maintenance orders

    Hi Experts,
My requirement is to block PP work centre when maintenance schedule the equipment for preventive maintenance. I am making system condition as zero in generated preventive maintenance order but basic finish date is not changing in the order automatically. Can anybody please explain how to bring this? Finally my requirement is system should change basic finish date and time as time given in operation of task list.
    Thanks in advance.
    best regards,
    Srinivas M

    Hi Praveen,
I have done all setting and tested but there is no change.
My client requirement is like this - whenever maintenance plans are scheduled, for the scheduled dates, production capacity should not be considered by production. We could do this for breakdown orders but not happening for PM orders unless we change the finish date.
The issue is to get the finish date automatically when scheduling maint.plans with respect to values given in operations. Please suggest how to get the  basic finish dates automatically.

  • Unit of measure changed in BOM not reflected in Production order

We noticed the following problem in one of our production order.
    1. We have a bom component having a unit of measure MT.
    2. A planned order already exists for this header material.
    3. We changed the unit of masure in the same BOM component to KG.
    4. We processed the production order and did confirmations and did auto GR.( Value 20 times high)
    5. The cost at GR is very high , although the material consumption is considering the changed unit of measure KG.
Any possible solution to this problem,
    Thanks,
    Manohar

All steps suggested including read PP master data , rerun MRP and generate a new planned order and then convert to a new production order, have been done but the effect at 101 remains same with high actual costs.
The production order is acocunt-assigned to a WBS.
In table QBEW , the standard price is updated as very high. We havs S as price control in header material master.
May be , some one has some idea about how the standard price in Table QBEW gets updated. What is the source for this standard price which gets updated on doing GR ( It comes to project stock and we see the standard price being very high and so the actual cost is very high)
    Thanks,

  • Prevent Production order deletion from rrp3 and rrp4

    Hi,
We have an issue is that production orders(without release) have been deleted by somebody from RRP3 or RRP4 Transactions. How to prevent this without restricting user access? Is there anyway to find it in log?I checked in RRPLOG1.But it is showing the planning log and no details about deletion.
    Thanks&Regards
    Venkadesh

    Hi,
Production order is firmed receipt element and it is created in ECC and transfered to APO. So you cannot delete production order by using standarad tools in /SAPAPO/RRP3 or /SAPAPO/RRP4.
Yes it is possible to delete production order from livecatche by using function module delete incon orders but not using RRP3 or RRP4.
Once order is tecoed or closed it will be removed from APO automaticaly.
Are you sure it has been deleted from APO.
Run CCR and if it is in open state in ECC it will error order not in APO. You can push the order to APO.
You can try out to delete production order in APO using RRP3 or RRP4 in your test system  it will not allow even if it is not released.

  • Change output printer when printing a production order

I can see that there is a specific printer associated with the output of a production order.  Is there a way to change the destination (a different printer) when printing a single production order?
Right now I can see where the printer destination is shown in CO02, but I do not know how to change it. The screen is display only. The menu path is Order->Settings->Print info.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Janet,
    Try this.
Path: CO02 -> Enter PO-> Settings -> List Control -> Here you can change the printer -> Click on continue button.

  • Change planning plant in production order

    Hi Gurus,
my business scenario is the following:
I have 2 plants that are assigned to 2 different company codes. Plant A (ordering plant) and Plant B (supplying plant).
The users place a sales order on plant A and through MRP with special procurement key 80 the planned order is turned into a production order in plant B.
But in the order confirmation the system tries to post the GR in plant A. Is there a way to change the planning plant of the production order at any time i.e in order creation or order confirmation? Because I need the GR against the production order to be done in plant B. Since the subsequent posting according to the business scenario would be after production, the goods should be sold from Plant A to Plant B via a sales order.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
    Panos

    Hi Panos,
SPK 80 doesn't suit your requirement, since by design it is doing GR in the ordering plant.
Alternatively you need to work with a SPK like 40, that is stock transfer from B to A. Just set up the intercompany process for this stock transfer.
This way, when MRP in A detects a need for replenishment, a stock transfer requisition from B to A is created. Then MRP in B will create a planned order for production (that you will convert into a production order later). GR is in B. The stock transfer requisition is converted into a stock transfer order, and the actual transfer takes place.

  • Production Order header Qty change without changing the line qty

    Dear Experts,
This is one of the requirement from my client. He has to change header planned qty without changing line planned qty in the production order. They are doing this to avoid the wip variance account posting. Can we achieve this through SDK? If so how?
    Regards,
    Gokul K.

    Hi Gokul,
You can over write the planned quantity by the base quantity in each line.
Here is my sample fro you:
    If (Not pVal.Before_Action) And (pVal.EventType = SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_VALIDATE) And (pVal.ItemChanged) And (pVal.FormTypeEx = "65211") And (pVal.ItemUID = "12") Then
      With CType(SBO_Application.Forms.Item(FormUID).Items.Item("37").Specific, SAPbouiCOM.Matrix)
For ii As Integer = 1 To .RowCount - 1
      .Columns.Item("14").Cells.Item(ii).Specific.value = .Columns.Item("2").Cells.Item(ii).Specific.value
      Next
      End With
    End If

  • About production order & phantom item

    Hi experts,
I made a BOM containing several phantom items which are virtual items and don't have any stock. then I made a production order, SBO appears an error, "This product contains components which are phantom items, you must define the BOM for these items."
that seems i can't directlly use phantom items in production orders, I have to make a BOM for those phantom items and use that new BOM, is that right? or are there any methods to let production order contain phantom items?
    Thanks...
PS, one of my phantom item is gummed tape.

A Phantom item is more for structural purpose and it should contain child items and must be defined as a BOM.  The child item will be issued to jobs when a Production Order for the Parent Item containing the phantom item is created.

  • Production Order - Trigger won't Auto Refresh

    2007A PL49 - Just upgraded from 2005A
I have the following query set in a UDF on the Production Order.
    SELECT T1.PriceAfVAT
    FROM ORDR T0 INNER JOIN RDR1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry
    WHERE T1.ItemCode = $[$-6.0.0] and T0.DocNum = $[$-32.0.0]
The query wasn't working after the upgrade from 2005.  I had to change the query to include the negatives "-" in the WHERE clause.  Once I did this the query was working fine.  However, now that the query is working it doesn't refresh automatically.
    My settings are as follows:
Auto Refresh When Field Changes is selected
The field is Production Order Origin Number
Display Saved User-Defined Values is selected
If I place my cursor in the UDF and hit Shift+F2 the query is executed and pulls in the correct data.
How do I get the Auto Refresh functionality to work properly?
Note: other triggers are working correctly after the upgrade.

The problem is probably you selected Auto Refresh Field Changes as the same field in the Where clause.  If you could find any other fields to select, it should work.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Linking Production Order UDF to Purchase Order.

    Hi,
I have some udf created in Production Order Row level like length, size, height which varies for each production process and I want that these udf's which are filled with some values comes in the Purchase Order when MRP is run based on production order.
How to achive this in SAP Business One. How to link udf's for diffrent tables.
    Regards,
    Kawish

    Hi Suda,
The Udf value for individual items would change as per requirement for making production order.
And the udf would contain formatted search which would have fixed contents and one will choose as per requirment.
    For example :
    Production Order No 1
    Item = Abc
    Udf ( Length ) with formated search = 10
Udf (width) with formated search = 20
UDF ( Specification ) with formatted search  = Any predifined specification.
Note : Now for Production order No 2 the above details in udf can change as per requirment for production / purchase process.
Now I want once this production order is saved all the udf details showed come in row level of Purchase Order after doing MRP by Production order.
I hope to be clear as per my requirement.
Please suggest any solution for such case.
    Regards,
    Kawish

  • Dates for setting DLV and TECO status in production orders

    Hi,
I am trying to understand where SAP is holding information on the date of change of status of Proces (or Production) order to TECO or DLV. I think that this information must be held somewhere as based this date is being used to calculate variance for production orders in KKS2 or KKS1 transaction.
    Thank you,
    Karol

    Hi
    1. In your Production Order - there is a Line in the 1st screen where you would see a series of Status Like REL DLV TECO SETC, etc
    2. you would see a i against the Statuses.. Click it
    3. You would see a tab called STATUS, where in all the Statuses are listed
    4. Click any of the desired status and then choose MENU Extras > Change docs > For Status
