Change Material non-valuated to material valuated

Hi experts,
I have created a material before doing settings in transaction OMS2, so this material was created as non-valuated.
After that, I have changed the settings in transaction OMS2 (I have marked qty updating and value updating).
I'd like to change the material master - accounting 1 from material non-valuated to material valuated.
Is it possible to do it?
Thanks.

Hi Osmar,
You may change your non-valuated into valuated material, by doing following steps:
1. create new material type for valuated material
2. change your material with the new valuated material type using MMAM
But ensure that new material type should be extended into particular Plant that has been assigned for respective material master.
Cheers,
Girang

  • Exact Difference between Non Stock NLAG and Non Valuated  UNBW Materia type

    Dear All
What is the Exact Difference between Non Stock NLAG and Non Valuated  UNBW Materia type?
I tried creating Purchase Order and found that accouting doc got created at both times and stock was not updated in MMBE for both material types.
    Regards

    Hi,
    non-valuated material (Material Type UNBW):
This type of material is managed on a quantity basis, but not on a value basis. This makes sense for materials of low value, stocks of which nevertheless have to be monitored (for example, operating manuals).
Non-stock material (NLAG) (Material Type NLAG):
Inventory management is not possible for these materials either on a quantity or value basis. For frequently required consumables, the use of this material type nevertheless enables you to store the information required to create
purchasing documents (such as texts and units of measure).
When a material is procured directly for consumption, no material master record is necessary. In connection with consumable materials, you can distinguish between the following cases:
    • Consumable material without material master record
    • Consumable material with material master record that is not subject to
inventory management (on either a quantity or value basis)
    • Consumable material with material master record that is subject to inventory management on a quantity, but not a value, basis

  • Split valuation for material

    Dear all,
I'm facing issue when trying to assign "Valuation category" to Material in Material master Accounting view.
Purpose of doing this is to achieve split valuation. But system is blocking me to do that due to PO created for the material before.
Refer below that steps happen for the scenario:
    1. Material 123 created without split valuation.
    2. Create PO 999 for the material 123, follow by full GR of qty 10 and eventually "delivery completed" marked for the material.
    3. Using MIGO movement 261 to perform GI qty 10 for production usage.
    4. Now Production order has been finished, and wish to bring back the qty 10 to Non-valuated stock.
    5. Goto MM02 change Material 123 to assign "Valuation category" in Accounting view. Error returned by system " Purchase order 999 item 00010 already exist".
For the case, do you know how to get rid of the error in order for me to assign "Valuation category" after PO has been created for the Material?
    Please comment.

    Hi,
Have you activated Split valuation ???? Before using valuation category.
the process you followed is correct. Now the stock is 0.
You need to configure Split Valuation :
1.To use split valuation, you have to activate it using TCode 'OMW0'.
2.To select split valuation ('OMWC'), proceed as follows:
2.1. Determine the valuation categories and valuation types that are allowed for all valuation areas:
    - global valuation categories via menu "Goto --> Global Categories"
    - global valuation types via menu "Goto --> Global Types"
2.2. Allocate the valuation types to the valuation categories.
    a) Select "Goto --> Global Categories".
    b) Position the cursor on a valuation category and select
    "Goto --> Global Categories --> Assignments --> 'Types->Category'".
    c) Activate the valuation types you want.
2.3. Determine the local valuation categories for each valuation area.
    a) Select "Goto --> Local definitions".
    b) Position the cursor on a valuation area and select
    "Goto --> Local Definitions --> Allocate Categoires->Org.units (button Cats->(OU)".
You obtain a list of the global valuation categories.
    c) Activate the categories to be used in this valuation area.
The system creates the local valuation types based on the allocations under point 2.2.
Now you assign the Valuation Category in Material MAster Accouinting View.
Hope this is useful for you.

  • Can we maintain two values for one material a plant without split valuation

    Hello Guru's,
We have a situation, we use MOVING AVERAGE PRICE in accounting view 1. Without split valuation.
The actual issue is, we receive, damaged material from a customer with a "0" value, and we send the material as it is, to a vendor with a "0" value.
The vendor, sends us back the repaired material with a value, say "10" (and this keeps changing).
Is it possible, to have Non Valuated Stock and Valuated Stock within the same Plant, for Material "A".
And it shouldn't affect the MAP. Also, we don't want to have Split Valuation.
    Please help.
    Kashi

if i am getting your scenrio correctly then i will suggets u to maintian  the material master with moving avreage price control indicator then
case1> gr from customer at o rs
use the tcode mb1c and movement type 511
as it is evaluated at MAP hence only material document genrated no accounting document
well tried to realize your scenerio but it is not possible to do that
as MAP is going to get effected as a result of valuated good recipet
u need to go for separate material code then transfer good from non valuated to valuated one using tcode mb1b and movement type 309 or use split valuation

  • Error in quantity translation in CO-PA valuation using material costing

    Dear SAP Gurus,
While releasing the billing document to accounting I am getting the following error:
Error in quantity translation in CO-PA valuation using material costing
    Message no. K/821
    Diagnosis
In Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), the system tried to use a material cost estimate to translate the unit KG for the material KG into the base unit of measure EA for that material.
The system could not do this.
    System Response
The document cannot be processed further.
    Procedure
Check the quantity entered in the affected CO-PA quantity field &V4 .
If necessary, change the material master to allow the unit KG as an alternative unit for the material 970000000000000016.
Can anyone provide me with a solution to the said problem.
    Regards
    Nikit

    Hi Piet,
That does not seem to be the solution as i cant define for all the materials how many units EA = how many kgs. Thanks for the reply anyway

  • Valuation with material cost estimate: error with product

    Hi Experts,
Message no. KE350, Valuation with material cost estimate: error with product "2286940000". Please suggest me to resolve this issue.
Points will be provided for good solution.
    Regards,
    Jay

    Hi Jaya
This means that your customization is wrong then...
In KE4J or KEPC you have assigned costing keys to your material types or some other combination... You should have done this config in a way that costing key is not called  for in the case of non valuated materials...
In Ke40 you have defined costing key where in you have specified "Issue error msg if no cost estimate found".. This costing key is assigned in KE4J or KEPC in a way that it is getting called even in case of non valuated materials...
Do you have a separate mat type for non valuated material? If yes, remove this mat type from KE4J/KEPC..
If you dont have separate mat type i.e. in the same mat type if you have both valuated and non valuated, then you have a problem.. You would get stuck in that case

  • Valuation using material cost estimate

    Ciao a tutti,
We have create a material cost
estimate without standard structure(unit costing) not FOR ALL MATERIALS, but only for ONE
VARIANT of generic material (retail solution) (because the other variant have the same price, and because we have to reproduced 5000 BOM in unit cost for just
one variant with transaction KKPA LSMW)
So, now we have to valuated the material cost estimate when the customer create the billing document and put the split of the cost estimate in co-pa
Our prolem is : we have calculate standard cost estimate for 5000
variant not for all variant (because our customer crete the BOM in unit
costing with transaction KKPA and LSMW, and they refuced the idea to
calculate 30000 cost estimate with lsmw) so when we crete a billing
document with a variant that haven't cost estimate created the system doesn't
valuated the cost estimate (the system works well), but how I can change the variant in the valuation and put the variant that have the cost
    estimate calculate?
Wiht the transaction "Assign Costing Keys to Any Characteristics" I think
    is not possible.
I must to use enhance COPA0002?
    Thank you very much

    Hi All,
I am also facing the problem for Sales Order Cost Estimate. and the Costing Status is VO(Marked without errors).
    I have done the following
created the Costing Key (sales order cost estimate)
assigned costing key to the material type.
assigned to the respective value fields
    sales order cost estimate,
    Run the RA
    Settlement done.
But in COPA, cost estimates are not being split up based on the cost component (like Material, Labour and Over head) and it is getting posted to COGS only.
Do we need to change the costing status to FR, if yes, but how to do ?

    Hi,
As you said there is no data in material master for this material. this may be the reason for this. Try loading this material master and perform attribute change run. This should solve the issue.
    thanks,

  • He material is not displayed as valuated Sale Order Stock

Sale Order has been created and MRP execution is done at MD04.
The Sale Order is released as Production Order.
But when I am executing T Code  MBBS I am getting error message syaing
The material is not displayed as valuated Sale Order Stock.
    Diagnosis
The system has not found any stock that satisfies the selection criteria entered.
    Possible reasons for this are:
The material does not exist. Have you entered the right material number?
Your selection is too restrictive. The system was not able to find any stock that satisfies all selection criteria.
    The stock balance is zero.
    Procedure
Check all the selection criteria you entered.
Stock overview has displayed enough stock for material.
Please adivse me how Material  can be displayed as valuated Sale Order Stock at MBBS.
    Regards

    Hi,
Check whether the Production order execution is done and any GR has been done against the Order.
Once the above is done, check in MBBS, the stock will sit in the Valuated SO stock.
Even wait for any other replies.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Material master table for finding out valuation category and valuation type

    Hi,
I have a material XYZ for which a valuation category 'H' is assigned. Now I need to create a valuation type for that.
Question - I want to find out for the same plant & st location which are the other materials with valuation category H, and what are the valuation types used.
I checked in mara, mard, mbew etc but of no use.
Which table can i get the data ?

    hi,
As the valuation details are saved and are based on the material, you can see the details of valuation type in MBEW table...and field as BWTAR
For valuation catagory, you can see the table MARC...field as BWTTY...
If want the valuation type details for both plant and storage location, you shd check the GR table ie. MSEG where you will get the valuation type ....
hope its enough to retrieve the data..

  • Valuation with material cost estimate: error with product "117122"

    Hi people,
    We have the error:
    =====================
Valuation with material cost estimate: error with product "117122"
    Diagnosis
In Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), the system tried to valuate a line item using the current standard cost estimate.
In order to determine the current plan period, the system needs to read the valuation segment of the material master.
The system has found that the current plan period is not filled forproduct "117122" in plant "UBE1".
We have the follow configuration in trans.: KE40:
    . Determine material cost estimate
       . Transf. Standard Cost Estimate
    . Costing Variant
. Control Data for Standard Cost Estimate
. Period Indicator = "Current Standard Cost Estimate acc. to entry in mat master
    . Addiitonal data CO-PC
. Transfer cost estimate in controlling area currency  "activated"
We think the reason about our error is because the field above is activated and some configuration more is necessary for this case. For examplo: Trans.: OKYW and this one was not configurated yet.
    Do you know what happend?
If we need to configure some transation, or sonly process the cost estimate?
    Thanks,
    Rosana.

    Hello Guido
Thank you very much for your return.
It is happenning in a Client that some people are doing the configuration.
Before we didin't have in KE40, the fiel "Transfer cost estimate in controlling area currency" activated.
And now, the people activate that in this new Client and I don't know the impact about that.
I think we have to make the configuration in OKYW.
The other transation you told me, we don't have any information.
Could you tell me some other idea what happend?
Message error is just "Message no. KE350"
    Abou claculate the cost:
It was calculated by trans.: CK11N for future planning and the real wasn't not possible to release because this material already have moviments.
Could you tell us is there is some thing more to do?
    Thanks,
    Rosana.

    Hi,
I am getting an error: "Valuation with material cost estimate:error with product 003443434(material number)
Does anyone know which transaction is used to correct this error?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Go to MM02. Select the views of the materials i.e. accounting 1 & 2 , costing 1 & 2 . Look at the valuation class u have maintained for the same material in the view Accounting 1.
Hope u will get ur problem solved..Assign points, if helpful.

  • Valuation class & material type

    Hi all ,
Can anyone plz tell me the answer on following
What establishes the relationship between a valuation class and material type
    A.     Valuation grouping code
    B.     G/L account
    C.     Valuation category
    D.     Valuation grouping code.
    E.     Account category reference
    Thanks in advance
    Shreek

i think more than one answer should be correct for this question. The valuation class makes it possible to:
Post the stock values of materials of the same material type to different G/L accounts
Post the stock values of materials of different material types to the same G/L account
On the other hand, a account category reference is Group of valuation classes that the system uses to check whether the valuation class you have entered is allowed when you maintain accounting data in a material master record.
So i think the answer should be G/L account, Account category reference and Valuation category.

  • Parallel currency valuation for material management

    Dear all,
My comapny is maintaining parallel currency in company code in new GL, does this impact material management also.
Should we need to activate material ledger for parallel valuation in material management, but the company is not actually into production but it still require activation of material ledger.
    Regards,

    Hi Shilpa,
How I understand it using the U.S as my example:
In the first transaction code, in other words, F.05 or FAGL_FC_VAL  are used if the currency in the transaction is not the same as the local currency of the company.  For instance, U.S GAAP mandates companies to report their financial statements in local or functional currency.  So let's say the transaction currency for a U.S company code is/was GBP.  However, GBP is not the local currency of the U.S company code so you would to have perform foreign currency valuation with any of the above named transaction codes using the exchange rate of the key date specified at the time of the valuation.  This valuation will then give you a gain or loss as a result of differences between the original amount and the revaluated amount.
The second transaction code FAGL_FC_TRANS valuates the balances or additional currencies.  But to be able to run this second transaction code, you would first have to perform FAGL_FC_VAL or F.05 first (this is a prerequisite).
So even if you are to perform currency translation, you will still need to run FAGL_FC_VAL first.
    Regards,
    Elias
