Changing a Member Name Value from Negative to Positive in EAS

I am working on a dimension where there are expense values stored as negative values so, the net income calculations are not calcing accurately. How can I change the sign of the value without having to reload the values? Is there a setting in member properties? Please help. Thanks.

Not sure if just changing the sign would really resolve you issue. If expenses are negative, the you should aggregate these using a (+) aggregation which in turn reduce expenses from revenue.
If you were really keen on changing the sign, you could write a calc and fix on your expense accounts. Now assuming you have a dimension like scenario where you can fix on one pivotal member, you could do:
Budget = Budget * -1;
However, I would not suggest to go the calc route because you would get into same situation again upon data load. I would really look at my aggregation properties to make sure values are rolled up correctly

Outputing member names & aliases from an outline

Is there a easy way to export member & alias info. If I open an outline, I can do a copy and paste, but only the member names themselves get copied, no alias info. Is there an easy way to do this.

I wrote an Excel utility workbook that works well for that issue (and some others).You can use it to do the following:1. Paste members you've copied from the Outline Editor into a single column. Changing a member name in Essbase

In my ASO cube - I need to change both a level 0 and parent member name in EAS. Is it as easy as edit member properties and typing in the new name? Does the existing data follow? Also, does going from lower case to upper case create a similar change in the outline?

change of alias name doesnot harm your datayes going from Lower Case to Upper Case create similar change to outline

How to change screen combo box value from a method?

Hi,
I have a screen that has a combo box and an ALV.
the combo box has the line numbers of the data in the ALV.
you can select the line item and then the ALV changes...
I fill the combo with function VRM_SET_VALUE.
all is good once the user changes the combo box.
I want to enable the user to click (hotspot) on ALV and then to ... and to change the value of the combo box to the line number he clicked on.
I couldn't change the value inside that box.
The combo box is declared as global parameter.
when I assign a value to it inside the method, it is good. but once back to PAI, it is the old value.
Do you have any idea how to set up that value?

When you load the combo box, you should be setting a "key" for each entry in the combo box.
See below:
move '2010FY' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Full Year' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move '2010Q1' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Q1' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move '2010Q2' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Q2' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move '2010Q3' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Q3' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move '2010Q4' to Value-Key.
move '2010 - Q4' to Value-Text.
append value to list.
move 'COMBO1' to name. "name of Combo box in the screen
call function 'VRM_SET_VALUES'
    exporting
      id = name
      values = list.
So add these "keys" to a hidden column in the ALV grid. Then .... when the user presses a hotspot, pass the value of the hidden column (for the selected row) into the COMBO1 box.

Function to change DataType member names

I was wondering if (TestStand 4.2) contains the ability to call all referrences to a Data Type member used in a sequence to be changed to the new name if that DataType member is renamed in the MyTypes.ini file?

The short answer is no, and it's a difficult problem if you are talking about including source files of code modules written in various different programming languages, and still a semi-difficult problem if you are not because of the possibility of lookupstrings appearing in unsual places or being used in unusual ways.
There are however 2 features that exist in TestStand 4.2 that should help with this.
1) Find/Replace in files - If the previous name is fairly unique this should be easy, if it's not then perhaps with clever usage of regular expressions in the search string it should still be doable.
2) Analyzer - this should help you find places that need fixing or that you might have missed doing 1) above.

Look-up name value from XML file based on user entered number value

My form has an "Employee Number" numeric field and an "Employee Name" textfield. I want the user to enter their employee number and have JavaScript that will "look-up" that employee number in the XML data file and return the corresponding Employee Name into the employee name textfield. I need an example XML data file and form with the appropriate script.
Can anyone help me with this?

Re-read your post, find that the col2 in List1 is people and group type column, SharePoint Lookup type column showing additional fileds option does not support people and group type column, so there should be no OOB method to achieve your
goal.

I think you can try using InfoPath form to manipulate the correspond col2 value when lookup col1 from List1 then show in list view, or may use custom visual web part to achieve you goal.

Reading String (Name-Value) from text file into XML

I have a requirement for reading a text file and converting each entry of that text file into XML format. I have not came across such thing yet so looking for some ideas. I am using SQL Server 2005 and here is a sample entry from my source text file,

If you for some reason would do this task in SQL Server, you would implement it as a CLR stored procedure, but from what you have said I don't understand why you would do this server-side at all.

Change Condit.origin field value from C to A in sales order

Hi,
We have to maintain Condit.origin field in Item-Conditions-Details in Sales Order.
Path -
Open a sales order, now db click on one line item and select conditions tab. Now db click on JMOD condition. After that you will see the Item-Conditions-Details. Now please see the Condit.origin under Control data heading.
In my system, it is automatically selecting C - Manually entered and it is non-changeable. How can i change it to A - Automatic pricing.

Changing to comma separated values from a table

I have a column called ID and second column duplicatesID. So for each ID I can have more than one Duplicate ID.
I want to have comma separated for values of Dup IDs for each ID.

HFR - Getting the value from a member prompt to render in a report

I have need to see the value or values selected from an HFR report prompt on the report once the report renders.
The prompt value is desired to be placed in the Header of the report but ultimately as long we can see the prompt value rendered/placed any where on the report that will be good.
Is there a function or other means to capture the selected dimension value stemming from a prompt selection?
The more complex piece to this questions is that the row member where the prompt resides is using an advanced member selection which takes the value of the member prompt AND the Lev0 list of members to display on the report. Doing the level 0 "AND" of the advanced member selection removes any chance of getting the original prompt value select.
If any one has any ideas or tried and true techniques, please share.

It sounds like you are familiar with the text functions that can get you member names / aliases from cells.
Have you thought about retrieving the member from the prompt and then simply hiding the column/row,
e.g. in column A select 'Prompt for Dim'
in column B select 'Descendants of Same Member as Col A' AND 'Level 0 Dim'
hide column A
use the text function to get you the name/alias from column A

How do I change MobileMe/iWeb member name?

We registered the iWeb account on my computer in my husband's name because we thought we would use it for family purposes only. Recently, I have realized that I could better use this account for my work. Is there a way for me to change my MobileMe/iWeb member name? I can change account details through System Preferences/.mac, but I am not finding a way to change the member name. I want to change it so the URL will be web.mac.com/myname instead of web.mac.com/hisname. Can I do this?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Technically speaking, using the MobileMe for commercial sites is against the TOU although we've not heard of any sites getting bumped for it. But commercial servers will be faster and more stable since they don't have to facilitate all of the bells and whistles of the MobileMe accounts.
You can purchase a domain name from one of the providers (GoDaddy.com is one many recommend for names and hosting) and have domain name forwarding activated from your actual site URL (http://web.ME.com/MobileMeAccount_name/your_work_sitename/index.html) to the domain name, www.yourspecialname.com.

Hi,I have an existing outline and I want to change some member names. The outline has data in it. I was wondering if it is possible via a script or a rules file to rename some members without it affecting the data.Thanks in advance.

A load rule will only add new members or add new members removing members it does not recognize (Using remove unspecified), but will not do a rename. You could do it using the API. One word or warning if you have two members A and B and change B to C and A to B what will happen is the data from A will disappear, A will now contain B's data and C will not have any data. You would have to do this in two stepsChange B to C then Save the database then change A to B and save the database. 1). Select the component for which you want to set the attribute to a bundle
2). In the property inspector, click the context menu next to the attribute you want to pick from a bundle (the thing that looks like a "V" next to the field"
3). Choose "Select Text Resource..." from the resulting menu

It's been my observation that Essbase thinks you deleted one member and created another. Data (especially level zero data) is generally tied to member names, not outline position.If you are renaming an upper level member, it may or may not disappear. You can recreate your data by forcing a calc.If you are renaming a level zero member, you have to do it in two steps. First create the new member and save the outline. Second, run a calc that only sets NewMember = OldMember. Third, delete the old member.Good Luck,Tim

I used a rules file to change the member names and the previous data has to be reloaded (previous 13 months' data!). I'm not sure if this would solve your problem, but if it doesn't cause a problem to leave the existing names in place, you could just build a new alias table. By assinging new aliases, you would not have to reload all your data.Regards,
