Changing store regions

So I lived in the States for over 10 years and it is where my regional iTunes store is selected at. Now I'm currently in South Korea and I was trying to switch my store region to Korea, but the problem is I had iTunes gift card on my account. And it says I can't change my store region until I use it all. But I have 5 cents left on my card, and obviously I can't spend 5 cents on anything on iTunes. I can't even combine that amount on my purchase because well, I don't have a credit card in US anymore. So is there any way to just get rid of that 5 cents left on my gift card to change my store region?

What do I do on that page? I already tried that page, and there's NOTHING there that remotely helps me. It just says help is available on email and chat, but fail to tell me how.

Apple store credit, can't change my region!

i bought a few 50 dollar cards back when i was at USA. I have been happily using those credits and buying apps from the US store. Now i have 4.78$ left and i want to change my region and buy from my onw countries store, because there is less than 5 bucks left. I can't change the region because that 4.78$ cant just disappear a wanrning thing pops-up. What can i do? I dont care about that 5 bucks. I just want to be able to buy paid apps and change my region from the US store.

I used to have an account inaustralia, but now live in uk. I have changed the region in iTunes, in the general iPad settings and in app store as well, but it still only lists Australian apps!!!!M

This worked for me:
A few months ago I moved from NZ to London. For a while I kept using my NZ account on iTunes and on my iPhone to buy apps, but eventually I needed to start using the UK app store.
The only info I could find on google was how to change your country in iTunes. That’s easy enough, using the country selector at the bottom of the screen. So now I can see the UK iTunes store, and everything appears in £. But when I’d try and sign in to buy something, I’d get an error message “Your account is only valid for purchases in the NZ iStore” and I’d get redirected to the NZ iStore. I couldn’t find much help online, and was about to sign up for a whole new UK-based iTunes account with another email address, until I found this help page:
Changing your iTunes Store country:
Sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you’d like to use. If already signed in to an account, from Settings, choose Store and then View Account.
Tap “Change Country of Region” and follow the on screen process of changing your region. Agree to the terms and conditions for the region if necessary, and then change your billing information.
Once that was done, I could see and use the UK iTunes. But when I would surf the app store on my iPhone I was still seeing the NZ app store. The fix is to just download any free app. Once it starts downloading it, it realises you’ve signed up to use a new country’s app store and redirects you there.

I can't change the region of my store account

Whenever I try to change the region of my iTunes store (US) to Canada, I get this message saying that I have to empty my store balance first. My balance is $0.86 so I can't purshase anything. Does anyone know a way around this ?

Yes, most folks report that happens. Your apps are still yours but the only ones you will be able to update are the ones that are also sold in the new country's store to which you have changed your account. And you won't be alerted to these updates, you will have to keep your ear to the ground to hear about them. When you try to update you will think that you are going to be charged for the update if it's a paid app, but in the final steps the new store realizes that you have previously bought the app and update it for free.

In short, if your account has a credit card associated to it, it probably won't be possible to change your region.

I registed an iTunes account when I lived in Japan and I used Prepaid Card to redeem Japanese Yen to account (Country/Region=Japan). I have 60Yen in account now, this amount is smaller than cheepest apps (cost 85Yen).

You can't change your account's country when you have a balance on it.
