It's all very confusing to me, I need some answers from experienced customers.

I already checked. I purchased my iPhone 3G on the launch date back in July '08. I've paid the bill the day my bill was issued, days ahead of its due date, and for some reason, even through it's magic 8-ball wisdom, said I was not eligible for and upgrade. Not till Dec. of this year at least.
So even though my phone is now technically 'mine' and off their contract, they still won't unlock it for me? How come?

Am I being charged extra for my Apple ID which is an icloud email address. Have been notified that there has been a change.?

Apple IDs are free. Your Apple ID is also usable as your iCloud email address. You need not use it as such.

  • Do I get charged extra for "Extended 3G Data"?

I'm living in an area that has "Extended 3G Data" on the map and was just wondering if this will cost me extra? Or will I be able to use Verizon normally and not have to worry about any extra charges?

    Hello bubba_apples,
This is a great question.  There are variables involved in this questions that prevents me from providing a flat out yes or no, however, I will be able to give you a general idea with this post.  If you have a Verizon Wireless Nationwide plan, are not outside of the United States and are not picking up any non U.S. towers you will not be charged for any extended 3G data.  To understand if you are possible picking up any non U.S. towers your city and state are needed.  An example of this could be the following: If you live near the Canadian border and are picking up a Canada tower despite being in the United States.  If this example does not apply to you then this is one of the variables you can mark off the list.  (I can check for you as well if you are not sure.)  If the other two variables are correct as well you may use your data normally and do not have to worry about any extra charges.  If you have any further questions feel free to inquire.  Thank you.

  • Verizon charges extra for No service just because they can!!

I get a new phone and no service and is added and they charge $30.00. And they said it was for a upgrade fee!! It was the same basic phone NOT a smart phone. What a RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!

If you purchased a new phone (basic or smartphone) at the two year contract price, you will be subject to the upgrade fee which has been in place since April 22, 2012.

  • Why are prepaid customers not supported?  Or charged extra for purchases?

Why am I punished for being a Verizon customer trying to buy the refurb SG4? I'm on auto pay with the prepaid to double my data. I'm told I have to buy the additional $45 service, or drop the autopay so it will pay which will kill my double data. Why is it I can't get the phone for the advertised price, keep my number, and continue on auto pay without paying anything extra or losing any data?

Thanks Chenks. I would subscribe to your point of view if the new AppleTV were an upgrade,
the new appletv is an "upgrade" in terms of that it is a new device to replace the original appletv.
it may not be an upgrade in terms of what you wanted, but it still is there to replace the original appletv.
as an early adopter you should always be aware that something better and cheaper is likely to be around the corner and that your early adopter investment will start to look poor. that's just the way it goes with any device.

Just thought of another counter-argument: my 2008 iMac is still running on the "old" platform but iTunes 10 and TV Show rentals work there as well ? How ?
    flawed analogy really.
itunes 10 is a stand-alone application and has it own refresh cycle.
eventually you'll find that itunes itself will no longer support PowerPC apple systems, and that's just the way it goes (i'm actually surprised that apple do still support PowerPC for anything!).

  • HT5714 Will I be charged extra for pre-ordering an album that has already released a few songs?

I pre-ordered an album for $18, and the album already had a few songs released on it. It seems that I received these songs instantly, but I also paid for them separately, which as most know, is more expensive than buying a full album. Does this mean that an additional $18 will be deducted from my account even though I've already paid for those separate few songs, and will I be charged for each song that releases up till the release date of the album?
I just thought I was paying $18, but now it looks like I'm paying more.
    Thanks for your help!

It's so funny you mentioned this, I'm currently having the same problem with the same album. I actually just finished sending iTunes an email about it (supposed to get back to me within 24 hours) and then found this article. I would suggest you do the same, but if you don't I'll try to remember to post back what I hear from them. I've always had great support for the odd thing that didn't work properly (like a glitch in a TV show or something) so I'm sure they'll clear this up without a problem. I asked the same thing too though, about what price I actually get charged, so hopefully I'll also get a response to that too. But yes, according to most pre-order rules in other stores, it should be the price we pre-ordered it for. Oh and yes I've checked for available downloads from the iTunes Store menu, but it just told me everything has been downloaded already. I double-checked my library to be sure it hadn't downloaded in the background but it was definitely not there. It has not downloaded yet.

  • Have I been charged extra for exceeding my usage l...

Our limit is 10Gb a month; we usually use 7.5.
We did once over-run a tiny bit, but were not charged.
This month (an unusually and particularly "bad" month for Skype and iPlayer) we received a warning on 18th - and then our daughter Skyped for an hour (she's just had twins!)
Now the usage monitor says we have only used 0.02.  Does that mean we have been charged for another 10Gb?  If so, then we need to fetch as much as we can now, rather than waiting until next month (e.g. I have a 78Mb file to fetch, and some iPlayering to do).
If we have not been charged, then I guess we can hang on till the end of the month using only about 0.02 a day to fetch e-mails.
    Is there "discretion"?

If you would like to try Live Chat they should be able to help you, as they deal with billing issues.
Long term, it may be better to upgrade to a package with more allowance, as its not much fun using the Internet, if you have to keep watching your usage.
If you are opted into BT Wifi, you could always connect to that, as that does not count against your usage.

  • Charged extra for another account

I have two accounts. Just recently I was charged for both accounts on the 13th of July. However this past Monday on July 27th I was charged again a third time. Why is that? Just need to know before I cancel all my Spotify accounts and change my debit card. Not happy with this

I get charged $10.81 per account. Just wondering why they charged me a third time when they had already got payment for both accounts. Sounds slightly shady to me. Sneaking out more money when it is not due. So seeing this and what they did to you, I will now cancel my accounts and change my debit card. I DON'T DO SNEAKY CORPORATIONS AND COMPANIES.

  • T/F: iPhone users are not required to pay $15/month extra for Good Technology

I have a personal Droid RAZR M.  You may wonder why I am posting in the iPhone forum but you are about to find out.
I have access to corporate e-mail via Good Technology.  When I got this service set up at the same time I acquired the phone, I was required to upgrade from a $30/month 2GB plan to a $45/month 2GB plan just to have this access ("needed for access to company servers").  That was a surprise but I got over it.  However, since then, I have come to learn the following:
    1.  It appears that other than VZW, no other carriers are charging users extra for access to Good Technology.
    2.  Based on a colleague's information from a Good Technology support engineer and a office mate who is using a VZW iPhone, VZW iPhone users are *not* *required* to move to an Enterprise plan aren't paying an extra $15/month.  If one searches the Internet, I am not the only one asking about this.
If you are using a Verizon Wireless iPhone and have Good Technology on your phone, would you let me know if were *required* to upgrade your data plan and pay extra just for using Good Technology?
    Thanks,
    Techvet

I need to check some information at work about this, since they have some guidance on how their employees can connect to their corporate email with android and iphone devices.

  • R.I.P Desktop Charging Cradle for the HTC Incredible

    Verizon, Is this true???
    http://htcpedia.com/news/htc-incredible-desktop-charging-cradle.html
People want a desktop charging cradle for their phones. Why can one not be produced? A lot of us purchased the phones under the assumption that a dock was being produced. Are you going to allow Incredible owners to exchange their device for Droid X's? You can't get any manufacture to produce a dock that can charge? I really don't think people care THAT much if the home screen doesn't auto rotate. If the clock application is launched it works fine in landscape or you mean a dock that works in portrait isn't possible?????

no doubt!!!! check this one for another device:
    http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?divid=HTC&cat=Cradles&skuno=80604
how difficult would it really be for them to just place the micro usb plug slightly lower to fit the inc? i love this cradle if the could duplicate it to fit the inc. it can't be that tough to do. and with minor tweaks you could lay it on it's side for landscape. it would be perfect....postrait AND landscape AND it has a slot underneath for an extra battery. the manufaturer would have a gold mine because they'd be the ONLY ones with anything to sell us!!!!
