Charged for free service?

From 15th Feb to 17th Feb my line had a fault - I could mak but not receive calls. I registered the fault with BT who set up call diversion to my mobile numeber, which I assume is a free service ( it was in 2002 or 3 when I last had a fault).
Now I see on my 'recent usage' that there iare sums of money allocated to each call to my mobile during the fauklt period.
can BT please remove these amounts?
thanks.

Hi Mcowley01,
The refund will probably appear on the next bill. I can check it if you want. Drop me an email to [email protected] with your account details and a link to this post and I'll take a look.

I allowed access to icloud in order to get my calendar to work, but do not want to be charged for this service. How will I know I will not be charged for this?

iCloud is free as long as you don't exceed the 5GB free storage limit.  (You would need to purchase extra storage on iCloud to exceed this limit.)

  • I keep getting charged for free games

I am always trying to get charged for free games??

Are you asking this because your Apple ID password is requested before downloading the free game?
Downloading any app requires the password. Also required is a payment method filed with Apple. For free apps, games included, you will not be charged.

  • HT3702 Itunes charged for free app download (Update).

Itunes charged for free app download (Update). No clue why this happened. Can anyone tell me what could be the problem?

If you mean the temporary store holding charge, as described on the page that you posted from, then that is only temporary, it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.
That 'charge' is made each time that you change your card details to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account.
If you mean a 'proper' charge, and it appears on your purchase history and on your credit card, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Does Apple replace your charger for free

I've had a couple of chargers since I got my iPhone 5 a year ago. I've always bought a new charger, but lately someone brought to my attention that Apple can replace your charger for free.. I'm just wondering if that's true.

If the iPhone has been covered by an extended warranty beyond the one year so that it is still covered and the charger is not damage but has a problem with materials or workmanship then yes Apple will cover it.

  • Any charge for free app and issues at Apple Store?

In case we need to create free issues or even apps for iPad (from a non-profit organization), what will the incurred costs be through the whole process?
i.e. From the time of development of issues and the app in which the issues may work - is there any registration or license fees involved, till it reaches all customers - provided the package is for free?
Any charge for free app and issues at Apple Store for iOS apps for iPad?

You must pay the USD$99 fee to join the Individual Developer Program.
After that, there is no fee to put free apps into the iOS App Store.

I just got my new ipad 2.
however i am being charged for free content..
i called my credit card and they  said i need to speak to you..
    kindly revert ..

You are not talking to Apple here, these are user-to-user forums, and are not monitored by Apple. If you have just added the credit card to your iTunes account then you are likely to be just seeing a small holding charge (in the US it would $1) which is temporarily 'charged' to the card to check that it's valid and active - in which case it will disappear in a day or two.
If the charge is larger, and you are not buying paid-for apps (or using in-app purchases and you've checked your purchase history on your account in iTunes on your computer) then try the iTunes Store Account And Billing section on this page http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/

As Ira Bell Said, it's card processing/verification fee.
I remember signing up for AWS (Amazon web services) once..And i had seen 1$ for card processing there too.
And with free trial you have the option of setting the spending limit. you can do that for your account and you will not be charged if you set it properly. Here's the link for more info:

  • Charged for free movie

Verizon sent me an email saying I could view a movie free.  I couldn't access the movie and called Verizon tech support.  The agent told me to pick "buy the movie" and then I could view it and I shouldn't be charged for it because it was a free offer.  I just discovered that I was charged $21.99 for the "free" movie.  How can I get the charge removed?

    Hi Sarazan,
I cannot speak to the specific language used in the offer you were given, or the advice you received from the Verizon representative. But the only "free" movie offers I've seen from Verizon were free rental offers, not free purchase. A RENTAL (either SD or HD) last up to 48 hours after the initial viewing. A PURCHASE lasts as long as you can access the service (potentially forever). If you had rented the movie, you would have been shown the rental price and had to agree to it. Then Verizon would have credited your monthly bill for the rental price. If your movie did not show a rental price, it is because it was only available for PURCHASE, and therefore ineligible for the free offer.
It sucks to learn things the hard way, I know. You're not the first person that has been hit with the full purchase price for not understanding the difference. If you are lucky, you may be able to find a customer service agent that can help you remove the purchase from your account. But unfortunately it is up to them to decide what to do.

  • Charged for canceling service in first 30 days

Hi, all. In short: I cancelled my Comcast service within the first thirty days of a new plan.  I was told that I wouldn't owe anything if I cancelled within that time, not even termination fees.  However, Comcast is charging me over $40 for that month.  I need to know how to put a stop to that, or else they threaten to ruin my credit history by sending negative reports to the credit bureaus. Recently I changed from an old (non-promotional) plan on Comcast to a new one.  I did so in order to get a reduction in price from $155 per month.  The new plan gave me only a reduction of $15 per month and I was forced to take telephone service as well.  I was told I had thirty days to cancel the service without penalty.  I wouldn't be required to pay anything for those thirty days if I cancelled within that period as well. Comcast claims that I digitally signed an agreement to this effect online.  However, I only remember accepting some terms about E911 related to the phone service. In order to get me the new plan, the Comcast service tech had to sign me up for additional services, because she couldn't get her system to accept the plan as we discussed it.  The additional services pushed the monthly amount to around $190 per month.   I was told that I could cancel them later. A couple of days later, when I received confirmation of those additional services, I contacted Comcast again to cancel those services.  It took some time, but the technician got the job done. Over the period of the following thirty days, I found a better service provider for TV and Internet, so I switched to that and called Comcast to cancel my service.  I told the tech. on the phone that I was told I could cancel free of charge.  She disagreed.  After much arguing, she finally relented and said that I would probably get a refund check. Last week, I finally received a letter from Comcast, with a bill for over $40.  I think this is unfair and I need to get it stopped.  When I try to call them, they put me on hold for very long periods of time, then the technicians don't have access to my account history to verify my story.  I have chat transcripts of the conversations about the plan, but they're unable to accept the transcript files from me.  I think it's very convenient that the Comcast techs will say anything online or on the phone and claim to have transcripts or recordings of these communications, however, whenever I ask for something in my favor, the evidence mysteriously disappears.

Shafting the customer is in their business plan.  They hope that you will get so frustrated that you will just give in.  Better to just do what millions around the country are doing....cut the cord and go with just internet service only.  50Mbps is all you need to stream HD content and buy your own modem which will pay for itself in 9 months vs. Comcast's ridiculous rental fees.  $10/month for Hulu and about the same for Netflix.  You still get most of the content you're looking for without all the fees and headaches.  Good luck!

  • BT bill charges for non service during moving hous...

BT dreadful customer service & incompetence
    Hi all,
After deciding to move home I made the necessary arrangements with BT prior to our moving date. Our switch over date was 14th November 2014.
After numerous calls with BT and mostly dealing with multiple BT operators with little knowledge, poor communication skills, lack of interest and on a few occasions extreme rudeness, I was still no further forward with a line connection date.
It became apparent that there was no line services to my new home, which I could understand although I was disappointed not to have been informed of the situation prior to my moving home (a fact BT should be easily aware of)
I spent weeks going round and round with no clear outcomes or specific information returning to me, I actually knew more information from the site builders than BT knew, BT even had the arrogance to tell me that my information from the builders was incorrect (which it wasn't)
Numerous misinformation, conflicting information, non returning of calls, engineer dates that were not upheld, non required engineer dates are amongst a series of frustrating dealings with the vast majority of the BT operators, there were only a few operators that seemed to care and assist and they were at the end of my ordeal of 3 months!!!!!
It was very clear that the information from each phone call between myself and BT was not correctly recorded. On two separate occasions during a singular phone call I actually had to repeat my situation to three separate operators to which I had become accustomed to being transferred amongst.
So to be clear from 14th November 2014 until late February 2015 we were without services.
During one of my many and expensive mobile phone calls to BT I was advised to set up my own mobile broadband and they would foot the bill and repay the expense until they provided a service.
(Which I did as I had no confidence in a connection date within months)
Throughout this ordeal BT had the arrogance to attempt to bill me, even though we had no service!!!!
    Here is the kicker.
BT have now disconnected us from their service (31st March2015) for an unpaid bill, a bill we can't get amended and corrected to reflect the 3 months without their incompetent service.
They have even added charges for BT sports which I can't even watch as I have no viewing box, I believe this came free for 6 months) with my original package.
Even this is an issue. I was informed upon moving house that a new contract would commence when I moved home thus starting the 6 months free BT sports package once more (yet another mistake by BT)
We will not pay any form of bill until they amend and correct the bill to reflect we had no service for 3 months.
I have now tried to call to speak to an operator regarding the issue, after entering my home phone number the BT automated service redirects me to the only option which is to pay the outstanding bill!!!
No bill will be paid until it is corrected, I will be sending a bill for the mobile broadband I required to set up and maintain. I am also considering looking into the loss of earnings I suffered due to the length of time I was offline, as well as the amount of time required to deal with the sorry mess. A stressful time enough moving home without this added fiasco.
I am also aware of the Ofcom regulatory body as well as the multiple rules BT will have breached in our contract.
All in all we have endured a long and needlessly complicated mess, which thinking was behind us, is in fact still present. We are seriously considering removing our service completely with BT which I am sure in the eyes of the law will be justified and legally binding due to the numbers of contract breaches sustained by BT.

  • Continuing charge for "free" Navigator

I just sent the following message to Verizon about a service and charge that I've asked to have deleted over and over again.  Anyone else have problems like this with billing?
"I keep getting charged $9.99/month for a service that I've cancelled multiple times and in multiple ways (online, by email, on my phone, etc.).  I was given a "free" month of Navigator when I purchased my phone in June.  I cancelled it within the required 30 days.  But it keeps showing up on my bill.  TAKE IT OFF!!!!! and don't charge me anymore.  I'm tired of having to notify you every month about this to get a credit.  This will teach me to take anything that's labeled "free!"  I'll be posting this on your blog so everyone can see how you treat customers.  Give me back my AllTel - they did a much better job of customer service."

I do not know if you can, but if so, delete the program off the phone also. But yes trying to get things done, the first time, with many companies can be difficult. Instead of trying the option for billing, try tech support Option 3. Rarely a hold time and they can offer credits and 'flip the switch' sorta speak.
Last week they cancelled a replacement phone that I had been told was shipped and gave me a credit for the hassle.

  • Got charged for free shipping

I took advantage of the Elite/Elite Plus early Black Friday sale and purchased quite a few items.  However, after reviewing my order, I noticed a $5 charge for shipping.  Next to each item it says "Shipping: $0.00" but somehow that $5 got there on the end.  I checked each item as well, and each qualifies for free shipping if the order is over $35 (I bought a tv among other things, so it definitely is! )
I can provide the order number if necessary to any mods here.  I don't really mind how I receive the credit--gift card, My Best Buy Points, etc.  The only thing I am concerned about is possibly messing up my order if anything is done to it.  I have 7 gift cards, 1 large MyBB certificate, and Gamer's Club Unlocked all properly attached.
Thank you for any assistance.  Just message me if you need my order number.

    Hello NeoQuintessence,
I'm sorry to hear that there was an additional seemingly unexplained charge on your recent BestBuy.com purchase.
In reviewing your order, I note that the charge you were assessed is a California Electronic Waste Recycling Fee that must be added -- in accordance with California state law -- to the purchase of video display products such as computer monitors and TVs sold in California. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund for this fee.
I hope this helps. Thank you for writing to us with your concern!
