Charged for landline call

I think I've been charged for a landline call after starting my subscription.  Can someone please help me?  I can't get chat to work.  Being that this is a paid service (skype), you should have available customer service.

Check you usage history to make sure that the number you are being billed for is a US number.  Be aware that SMS, Shared-cost, Premium and non-regional numbers, are not covered by any subscription and will require credit.  I personally have never dialed a US number not supported by my subscription.  Make sure your subscription appears active in your account as well.  Your Skype number will be found in the Skype number section of the account.  The call subscription should be found on the right side of your main account page if active.

  • Checking recipient is not charged for my call

Hello, I'm in Australia and I'm using my prepaid Skype credit to call someone on a landline in France.  When she answers the phone it asks, "Would you like to accept a call from this person?" My balance goes down at  reasonable rate so I know I'm being charged for the call, but I just want to check she is not being charged at a high rate for receiving the call.  Could you please advise?  Thanks!

    Hello
It's unlikely that the recipient world be charged for receiving a landline call but they should check with their carrier to make certain.

  • Subscription paid but got charged for a call

I pay a monthly subscription to Australia, yet I just made a call to a landline in Australia and it drained my Euro balance I keep for calls to other destinations.  Why and what can be done about it?  I can't make any calls now until this problem is rectified.  My last subscription was paid 02 October.  Thanks

How can i make a free facetime video call? There's always appearing that my provider might charge for the call?

If you make a call then tap the Facetime button to connect Facetime, the duration of call up to Facetime connection will be charged under your regular airtime.  However, duration during facetime conversation will not consume airtime.
But if you tap the Facetime button on the Contact Page, then the whole duration will not consume airtime.
For Facetime to work, both parties must be connected to wifi.

  • Mobile call charge for landlines connection to Ger...

Using skype to make a phone call to a German landline I am charged mobile rates, which is multiple times the rate for landlines. How can I correct this problem and how do I get a refund for the overcharges?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
It's not possible to change a subscription, since you have purchased the wrong one, you can request a refund.

There are no subscriptions for mobiles only, so you need to purchase one covering calls to landlines and mobiles.

  • Charged for included calls

Recently joined BT for Broadband which has promted me to look at my bills. Previous to today I have had free evening and weekend calls.
Some of the calls to landlines have been charged. I have checked the times to makes sure they are within the times allowed.
I've only gone back a month (while at work) and already found around £10 worth of calls that I should not have been charged for.
What is the best way to get a refund on these calls and also how far back can I claim?
    Thanks

    Hi dangerman
It's worth noting the following (if you didn' already know)
BT did change the time when the evening calls became free some time ago. It used to be 6pm - 6am. It's now 7pm - 7am.
There is a limit on each call lasting 60mins, after 60mins they become chargable. It's a good idea to end the call after 59mins and simply redial.
There is a fup, which IIRC is 10,000mins per month.
I'd use the Billing Live Chat facility -http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact/c/2902/?s_intcid=con_intban_sanda_contact_us_chat_from_forums
    They're are open M-F 9-6.

  • Charged for engaged calls

Since when have BT charged for calls that weren't connected?
I have a number on my bill, with durations of up to 6 seconds,  that I know for a fact received the 'sorry the number you called' etc message
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I recently looked at itemised bill for January, and was surprised to see three calls to my Doctors surgery. The calls were 4 seconds , 5 seconds and 4 seconds long, timed at 10.15 am....This number is a prescription order service....You can understand it is a busy line, and it's odds on you don't get through first time, so you have to keep trying.... I did that until I got through and BT charged me  27 pence each time I tried, even though there was no answer phone, I heard nothing but an engaged signal...So I decided to have a word with BT about this...I eventually talked to a guy called Aarron who explained that my calling plan only gives me free calls on evenings and weekends, even though the calls were not answered in any shape or form they will be charged for.I have arranged for a manager to call me about this matter on Monday 2nd March so I will let you know the outcome.

If I wanna call mobiles, then is just fine, but skype charge me ''as you go'', (for mobiles per mnute from my credit)...and I really CANNOT make landlines phone call that I am paying with subrsription, so I need to call mobiles.
    Not fair, spam!!!
I am so mad because cannot find anyone to answer or resolve my situation from skype company. Terouble servise...they made me pay ...and then I cannot use my product..Only when you need to use credit(what cost a lot), I can get my country on phone!!!!Skype makes you pay ...but at the and it doesnt work...just doesnt work!!! Get signal buzy all the time, what is totaly not true!
    Who to call???

I also have this issue. I have a premium account, where it says I can make calls to a country of my choice, but how do I choose what country I want?

  • Charges for phone calls

Hi, wonder if someone can help me?
Yesterday I made some skype phone calls. Today when I logged into Skype the amount in the top left hand corner said I still had 6.86 Sterling (£) in my account (credit). I made one phone call and the balance dropped to 6.54. This was unusual as this was a call to a UK number.
I looked in the billing area and the last call apparently was £0.09 pence, not the 32 pence seen in the Skype console. So why does it appear that Skype is vastly overcharging me even by its own records?
I am now on Skype version 6.2 on Windows 7 (on a PC) but was on 6.18 when I made the calls.
    Any help would be appreciated,
    Thanks,

    Hi NormanM,
    1. The point was that I was deducted £0.32 off my credit for just one calll yesterday (looking at my credit before and after the call). In fact, after that call I see that my credit this morning has been reduced by a further £0.09. I have made no other calls. So it now looks like £0.41 has been deducted from the credit.
    2. Perhaps you can tell me. Is the billing real time like I was led to believe from the T&C's?
    Hello John
    1. The GBP0.09 charge was for the 2.59 minute call to UK on 09/15/14 detailed in my previous post. Your account shows that there have been no further charges since then.
    2. When I access a user's account I can see charges being applied in real time.

  • Being charged for a call i havent made?

I have purchased end of Jul 2015 a 10 pound credit for my Skype to support me when I need to call a mobile or landline. I haven't used it yet, however when I came to make a call today I noticed that approximately 2 pounds is off, I would like to udersrsnd why my credit is decreasing since am not making any calls???By the way this happened to me before but I did not repor. In addition, when I went to history of calls it showed in July I have made a call to Iraq which I haven't.  Pls advice why all this inaccurate information ?

If your call history shows your account made a call to Iraq either you or someone who has access to your account (authorized or unauthorized) placed a call or mis-dialed a call to Iraq.  If you know for a fact it was not you, then you need to change your password immediately.  You should also check your account for any unauthorized Microsoft accounts linked to your account that could gain someone access as well.  I would highly recommend scanning all the computers you use for malicious software.  Be aware that open wireless networks and using computers you normally don't access (Internet cafe') can be an easy way for passwords to be compromised.  If you use the same password for different sites and services, I would recommend changing those as well. You should report the unauthorized access and use of your credit to Skype Customer Service. https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1170/

  • £18 charge for a call that did not disconnect??

Not impressed about this at all.  several times over the last 2 months my wife has made calls to o2 to get my daughter's iPhone unlocked.  Most of these calls laster 3-10 mins at most.  Apart from anything else the call centre operators are under pressure to disconnect ASAP whether they have helped or not.  Bit like BT really!!!
We recently had a phone bill and I noticed our 'other calls' was very hight.  We phoned BT and the operator said it was for calls to 0844s and such like.  Luckily we are registered for billing online and having sifted through we found one call to o2 listed as 5 hrs 59 minutes!!!!!  There is NO way my wife called them that long and couldnt have even if we wanted too, especially not at 9pm.  Clrearly she has hung up after the call as have o2 but it seems the line has not cleared.
To me this is an absolute disgrace.  Even if the line had not cleared our end (and we ALWAYS presse the red call finish button) it should have cleared from the o2 end but no.  Result, nearly a 6 hous call logged and an £18 bill for it.
I have not yet called BT as I am too busy to passed from pillar to post to no end of departments all who will doubtless need to put you through to some else, even after having negotiated 25 different IVR queues.  I am not at all happy about this though and intend to complain, for hwat good it will do.  I think the the Ombudsman will be better to complain to than BT.
What have we got to resort to now.  Pulling the damned phone line out of the wall to ensure calls disconnect???  Maybe just time to bin BT altogether!!!  Time to start looking VERY closely at Virgin and such like I think, especially as we are out of all contracts now and current BT offers are rubbish.

    Hi Empgamer,
This doesn't sound too good, I can check this out on my end if you want. If you can email your BT account number and a link to this thread to [email protected] and I'll get back to you.
    All the best,

Couple of customer reps confirmed and even today when I called they confirmed that international call block is switched ON for my line.  My daughter plays around with my phone and unfortunately we got a bill of $350 for June even though international call feature is disabled. • Being over charged for my calls

I bought $10 of additional credit and had roughly $1.50 when I added this credit.  My call showed it was 2.3 cent per minute.   I talked for exactly 62 minutes and my credit is now down to $7.76.  This take the cost to over 6cent per minute.  How can we correct this.  How do I reach a customer service to get refund or an answer.  Thanks

  • Engineer call out charges for disabled customers

    Hi there,
I read somewhere online that if a bt customer who is registered disabled had any problems with there line & an engineer had to be called out to investigate, the customer wouldn't be charged for the call out or for any work that needed doing, is that true or is the information I read all wrong?
I'm enquiring on behalf of my father who is blind & registered disabled.

    Hi Craig,
well yes there was a problem with my fathers line, I look after him so live in the house & the broadband has been having lots of problems, also crackling on the line etc.
Anyway to cut a long story short, the isp sent out an engineer today to try and find the problem, it turned out the bt cabling on the outside of the house was 20+ years old and was in such a state it needed replacing, also the master socket was also very old & that was replaced as well.
Now I know my father wont be billed for the callout charge for the engineer as the isp is covering that & they told me there would be no callout charge when they called me to arrange the engineer visit but the cost of changing the cabling & fitting a new master socket will cost us, according to the engineer as he asked me whether to go ahead with replacing it all. Although I am not sure why it would cost anyway as that was all installed by bt so was there responsibility, also all the cabling was before the master socket so again that also tells me that it shouldn't cost anything.
But being as my father is registered disabled & blind I am curious to know whether he is liable for any fees or not for the work that was done, & if he is whether him being disabled would get the bill reduced.
