ChARM Issue

Dear Team,
We are facing a common issue in solution manager while configuring CHARM. We have reached the u201Cin developmentu201D phase after that the Logon to system should come, but it is not listing in the task list. We gone through sppfcadm T-Code there the u201Cexecutable in the dialog box u201Coption is checked, but still Logon to system option is unavailable.
Please response at earliest

Hi,
Check out the following:
SPPFCADM -> CRM_ORDER -> Condition Configuration  -> Action Profile: UC -> Logon to System
The aforementioned action definition should be defined either twice, each for In Development and To be tested, or can be defined once.
For twice, check schedule condition, which should be CRM Service Process.User Status for E0002 and E0004, for DEV and QAS accordingly
If it is defined once, the above logic would be mentioned with OR logical condition.

  • Charm Issue - Won't Migrate to Prod

    Hi
We are testing ChaRM in our DEVELOPMENT Solution Manager.
We are testing ZMHF and pushing a transport from DEV > QAS > PROD.
The transport was successfully release and imported to QAS successfully. However, the import to PROD did not work.
There is two possible reasons why:
    1) Our DEV and QAS systems are on EHP5. Our PROD system is on EHP7.  Please note, these are ALL test systems!!!!!! There is no way in the world we would have this setup in our real environments Our real environment is all EHP7 haha. Given this is purely for testing, we thought we would just test with three available dummy systems...two which happened to be EHP5 and one which was EHP7.
Anyway, in the Import Queue for Production it states "Does not match component version".  I'm assuming this is why the ZMHF does not import. I have also tried importing via the Task List (and have clicked the option to IGNORE INVALID COMPONENT VERSIONS)....this still didn't import.
My first question is should the Maintenance Cycle Task List import Urgent Corrections (ZMHF) as well? I believe it should?
I then tried importing via STMS into PROD (and checked the IGNORE INVALID COMPONENT VERSIONS) and it worked. I was then able to close the ZMHF in ChaRM.
Did it not import from ZMHF Directly and Maintenance Taks List because of the INVALID component versions?
    OR
    2) I noticed in the Alert Monitor for our PROD system the following:
Plug-in SAP_CTS_SERVICE is not registered in bootstrapper.
Also in the task list for the import I noticed the following:
What exactly is SAP_CTS_SERVICE Plugin or cCTS plugin??? Is this needed for ChaRM? Or is this warning something I can ignore? If it's 100% required, which systems does it need to be installed in?
Also, is this the reason why it didn't migrate to Prod?
    Thanks so much!!!!!!!!
    Shaun

    All sorted.
Installed the CTS plugin and the warning disappears...although this wasn't the issue.
The test system we had setup had the wrong transport domain in SMSY.
    All good now.
    Cheers

  • CHaRM Issue "Logon to System"

    Dear Solman experts,
I have an issue in CHaRM. When I try to logon the development system through the CRM_UI, i get the message System &1 don't exist, But when i go to the maintenance cycle in the SAP GUI, an perform the action Logon to system it works. In the Tx SMSY if i check my logical component the system displays the errors "System &1 Removed". I find this very strange because i can logon to the development system through the SAP GUI, maintenance cycle, but not the CRM_UI.
Hope some of you have encounter this problem before and would like to help me.
    I'm running on Solution Manager 7.1 SP4.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Ricky

    Hi Ricky,
Added the server address in the local intranet in iexplore, then logon action worked fine!
    Step :
Iexplore -> Intenet option -> Security ->local intranet -> add the host address

  • Solution Manager ChaRM Issues when Upgrading Satellite System

When upgrading a satellite system that is connected to Solution Manager's Change Request Management, is there anything that we need to be aware of?
Will Change Documents still be able to go to completion (Production status) if we modify the landscape from the time the Change Document is In Development to the time it is moved to Production?
    1. Normal Correction (In Development)     Development (ECC 5.0) -> Quality (ECC 5.0) -> Production (ECC 5.0)
    2. Landscape is changed to                    Development (ECC 6.0) -> Quality (ECC 6.0) -> Production (ECC 5.0)
    3. Normal Correction moved to To Be Tested -> Consolidated -> Production
Will the Normal Correction be in error because the landscape changed for the iBASE?
Are there any other lessons learned that anyone has experienced with Change Request Management or Implementation during and after an upgrade?
    Thank You,

    Thanks Subhashini!
We had issues updating the Task List in the past. After we update the landscape and refresh the project and update the Task List, do you foresee any other problems?
Are there any additional items we should look out for? For example, we understand it is a requirement to release all transports prior to beginning the upgrade. However, since the release of the transport locks the change into the cycle for the next production move, this will present a problem if the change is not yet ready to be moved into Production. Do you have any further insight to any additional issues such as this?
    Thanks again!

  • CHARM - controlling task creation for CD in to be tested

    Hi people,
I would like to share the following CHARM issue.
Developers involved in my project are a lot.
We use CDs (NC) for developing in an implementation project,
According to ChaRM standard, when develops end CDs are set by developers in "to be tested" status for testing porpouse in QUA (and TofC are imported in QUA).
Sometimes in the meantime it happens that an other developer logs in dirctly in DEV and open another task under the TRs that belong to the NC.
So my question is: is there a way to avoid developer modify the TR adding a new task ?
At list is there a best practice you can suggest to me?
Force developer to log in dirctly in SM is a affordable solution?
    Thanks
    Giovanni

or do you mixed sth up.
TofC are imported in QA and tested. But there's another error to correct.
So when I now change the corresp. program a new task is created automatically to the TR, althoug I've mo authorization to create a task!

  • Side effect after update from SP22 to SP26

    Hello experts,
I've updated my Solution Manager sandbox system with the latest packages (SP26), using SOLMAN_SETUP for updating critical notes. Then later I tried to test Service Desk scenario and it showed me "No maintenance cycle is open for the current system" (SOCM_ACTION_LOG011). As recommended in help for this error:
    Procedure for System Administration
Check the maintenance landscape for the current system in SAP Change Manager. Open a new maintenance cycle if necessary.
I go to my project and started check function. It gives me the information that my BCSets are not activated, although I've activated them before (while was working with this [issue|ChaRM issue;) and I see that BCSets' logs contain information about activation. Ok, I thought that system is going crazy and activated BCSets once again. Information about log activation looks fine. But during Checks in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN I get error about inactive BCSets...
Has anybody faced with this problem? Thanks God I performed implementation on independent sandbox, but how to implement SP and notes on real system?
    Update:
While creating new maint.project I have faced with the BCSets problem... Despite on activated (with yellow/green status) BCSets, Check function shows me that BCSets are not active...
Yellow message says on step Check in project: No activation logs for BC Set ***
All viewed notes describe similar problems, but notes are out of day...
What could it be? Is it new feature?

I thank you Jon for reply. Regarding your questions:
Can you be more specific about the landscape (logical components and SMSY entries) and IBase entries involved, and how you are using them?
    Landscape consists of one system - SolMan with 4clients: 001 - ServDesk/ChaRM, 200 - Cust, 230 - Test, 250 - Product. Component Z_SOLMAN_COMP includes 200, 230 and 250 clients. IBase describes all clients (001-250)
You said you are using Service Desk but your error message sounds more like you are using ChaRM?
Of cource, this is my blunder. I meant ChaRM, ServDesk I wanted to write as precondition for ChaRM, but lost my thought
Assuming this is ChaRM, do you have a project defined with the appropriate logical component, is a maintenance cycle created and is it in phase "In Development With Release", etc?
You are totally wright. I've created new project with Z_SOLMAN_COMP component, maintenance cycle created (M*31 and ServDesk message created), phase is not in "In Development With Release" yet.
What's interesting I had created project before upgrading to SP26, and all worked fine (thread with resolved problem in my above post): processes goes well. But after SP26 my project was broken and I created new one. Another interesting thing is that the similar (not the same) problems were in notes from 2004, 2007 etc.

  • Twist charm swipes not working and other issues

    Hi all,
I just got a new Twist a few days ago and am having some issues with it.  I got it on line from Staples who have a very limited return policy so I need to get these problems resolved quickly or will have to return it in a few days.  I really like it a lot and would hate to return it and deal with the replacement, double charge on my CC until they get the defective Twist and refund the bucks,  not to mention the shipping hassles.
I've installed all updates including the Lenovo updates, updated the Bios, did a factory refresh and went through the update process all over again and also calibrated the screen.
So the problems I'm seeing are the swipes from top to close an app, left to view open apps, and right for the charms will intermittently stop working but you can still tap on apps to open them and slide the app screen left \ right.
The other issue is that occasionally the app screen will shrink and expand or open an app without being touched, I would have it on a stand in tablet mode and watch it expand \ contract, and suddenly bring up an app like Remote Desktop. I contacted Lenovo support they said it was a hardware issue and recommended returning it but I'm reluctant to do this and hope there's a solution for it.
I did notice was that moving to portrait mode would usually work to bring back the swipe functionality.  Digging into it a bit more, I think I found the root cause, when it is in tablet mode with the keyboard folded back, the keyboard isn’t getting fully disabled, watching it closely I noticed that a cursor would sometimes appear \ disappear momentarily.
Any thoughts or advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!

okay, let's make really sure it is the entire iTunes folder. a typical one looks like this on the inside
the red arrow points to the heart of your iTunes library - the iTunes library file, the iTunes database. you will want to treat this file as the apple of your eye !
anyhoo, if indeed the entire iTunes folder is on the external, simply drag it from there to <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music on the new Mac.
since a folder by the same name is already in that location, the finder will tell you so and ask you if you want to "replace it with the one you're moving". confirm that you want that.
when the copying has finished, fire up iTunes and you should be taken to the exact same library you were used to from your old Mac.
finally, go iTunes > preferences > advanced and check that +iTunes media folder location+ is set correctly - it should point to the iTunes folder on your new Mac's startup disk. if it doesn't, change it accordingly.
please post back with results !

  • Charm - how manage issues after go live phase

    Hi all,
ny customer use Charm Implementation project for managing roll-outs of new countries in his SAP ECC Landscape.
Now Test Phase is going to end and he asks himself: "how can I manage issues after go live in Charm?"
If I have to create additional TRs for bug fixing in the weeks after go-live can I manager them in Charm?
I know there is the function for create TR direct in Talsk List, is this the correct way?
In other words, do I manage issues after go-live out of Change Documents using Task list?
As you know, Is there any best practices from SAP od from elsewhere?
    Thanks o lot
    Giovanni Lippolis

    Hi Miguel, Bob and Jansi,
thanks for you contributions. But I realize I didn't explained myself completly.
My situation is similar to what Bob described,
I'm not in an ideal world (do you remember Clint Eastwood and Kevin Costner), and I think neither you.
But, in my case there are not open TR to be recovered in project, but I suppose I'll have to open some TR (I hope a few) for fixing bug that will happen in production in the days post roll-out.
So I wouldn't like to manage there fix in a maintenance project, because the reason of these bugs is in TR imported in roll-out.
What I would like to do is to regress project to the Test phase (I don't need new CR and NC!) and open few Test Messages for fixing bugs.
I'suppost It should be possilble. In your opinion?
    Ideas?
    Thnks a lot.

  • ChaRM configuration issue for 2 Clients...

    Dear Friends,
I have configured ChaRM in Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 system. It is working fine without any issues. But now I came across a new requirement and finding trouble in configuring the required scenario.
Currently there is only single client in DEV, QA and PRD system for which ChaRM is configured. Now, I want to configure the ChaRM for 2 clients in each system.
    For example,
    <ZCHARM_1> -- SOL:001 -- > DEV : 100 --> QAS : 200 --> PRD1 : 300
    <ZCHARM_2> -- SOL:001 -- > DEV : 500 --> QAS : 600 --> PRD2 : 700
(Please note, ZCHARM_X is a project and SOL-001 is a Solution Manager ChaRM client).
First up all, I would like to understand, is it possible? is it supported by SAP ?
If yes, how can we configure client specific route for SAP standard transport layer (SAP)? What are the other concerns in using above system landscape in ChaRM?
Please note, we do not want to use separate hardware for either DEV or QA system.
Please can someone guide in this case?
    Rajesh Narkhede

    Rajesh,
I am not aware if you have searched on this issue, but You may want to take a look at this thread.
Change Request Management for multiple production clients
This configuration should work fine, because in essence, its a 3 system landscape, so there should not be major issues on the way.
From the TMS Standpoint you need to define a transport layer for each development client.
You can create a single project with the logical components or you can create multiple projects with each set of systems. Remember to do the TMS configuration right and you should be set.
    Cheers!

  • CHARM Authorization issue

    Hi ,
    We have implemented CHARM.
In our scenario we have custom partner function like SME who is part of every Change Request.
The issue when they try to change the priority of the ticket to 1 or 2. and pop saying that you dont have authorization to set priority as 1 or 2 is displayed.
Even if a person is not part of change request same error is displayed but they can changed the priority between 3 and 4.
Please advice where to check this configuration.

  • ChARM - Change Request status issue

We are currently testing our ChaRM processes.  The biggest issue we have with the ChARM system is that transports associated with a Change Request are being imported into subsequent systems regardless of the status of the change request.
    For instance...
If I have 5 transports (each having their own change request) in which all 5 have been released from development and have been imported into the quality system. It seems that from this point on, if 3 of the 5 change requests have their status changed to "testing completed", the production import should only import 3 of the 5 tranports.  We assumed that if the other two did not have a status of testing completed, they would not be allowed to be imported into production.  This causes an issue because all 5 tranports will move to quality and subsequently move to production regardless of the status of the change request.  All 5 of these tranports are also on the same maintenance cycle.
Is this the way the system is supposed to work?  If so, how do we utilize ChARM in a continuous maintenance production environment?
Your response is appreciated, Thank You for your help.

    Thanks for the update.
So, I guess my next question would be if Change requests and their associated tranports can be moved from one maintenance cycle to another after they have been submitted and released from Dev.  My concern is that in our normal production release environment has tranports that pass testing requirements at different times.
For example, Lets say that we release transports into our production system, or "set to go live" for a scheduled import on Tuesday and Thursdays at 5PM.
On Monday, I have 5 transports from 5 different Change Requests that I develop and release the DEV environment. On Tuesday, 3 of the 5 transports have been successfully tested and are cleared to go to Production, however 2 of the Change Requests did not have testing completed.
Is it possible to move the 2 transports to a subsequent maintenance cycle so that the first 3 that successfully passed testing can proceed to go live and import on Tuesday at 5PM?
My concern is that we do not always know upon development release when the Change Request and associated transport will be permitted to go to production.
    Thanks much for your help.

  • CHARMS - transport issue

Hi, When I transport using charms, it is asking for user id password to Q and P systems for every transport
I have 100's of RFC generated by Solman, which cant be changed manually. It is not allowing to change manually
Do you know the fix?. Any SPRO settings?
    Thanks

    Hi,
This is because of the user id/password issue in the RFC connections,SM_<SID>CLNT<CLNT>_TMW RFC connection is used for the CHARM. You can delete and recreate these RFC's connections[with the same name] if you have the user id/password.

  • Issue in generation of Change Document - ChaRM

    Dear All,
We are implementing ChaRM, I have copied the standard transaction type to z.
I am able to create request for change with transaction type zmcr but when the normal change or urgent change document are created they have standard transaction type.
I have made the changes in SPRO (Defining copy control of transaction type) but still document are getting generated with standard transaction type.
Please attached document of copying control.

  • Issue in Transport Request of ChaRM

I have created a Transport Request made import'd to Q-Sys, Now i need to Make some changes I've set the status to IN-dev & made changes & saved ,also released the transport request, still no changes found, Plz suggest me a remedy?

    hello Savithru,
the normal process to import in QSystem your change via charm is to run the action "test transport" when you are "in development" for normal change document (SDMJ). You need to release your task prior to this action.
This action will create a copy of your intial transport and will release it to the import buffer of your Q system. (the initial transport is NOT released). You can see the transport number in your log in your change document.
The actual import in Q needs to be scheduled manually or automatically
Do you see your transport of copy in the import buffer of your Q-System ?
    I hope it helps
