Check printing - signature print on check??

I was wonderng if anyone here has any advise on how to print a check with signature on a check. Our company is looking at a printer that will put the signature on the check but the company says we would have to supply on the form a "font call function" so the printer knows where the signature would go. Has anyone else tried printing in this way?
Thanks,
Kurt

Our printing is done using standard PCL printers (HP, Xerox, Lexmark). We just scan the signature, turning it into a graphic (gif, jpg), and then place it on the form as a logo using designer.
Are you sure that Output Designer even has a driver for this particular printer? A quick purusal of the "presentment targets" that came with version 5.5 seems to indicate that - besides some label printers - pcl & postscript printers is what it supports.
Even the Print Agent font reference commands are referring to the "internal" fonts included within the template (as a result of the selected "presentment targets").
I can remember a printer we used years ago requiring that the signature be a font - but it wasn't a pcl/postscript printer and that was prior to us moving to Output Designer. This was a font that was permanently loaded on the printer and a printer command sequence activated it and then a string of characters (like "abcd") caused the signature to be printed.
Without knowing anything about the printer, I see two possibilities if a graphic image can't be used. 1) The font is permanently installed on the printer and you might be able to imbed within your document the command string that causes the signature to be printed; or 2) the font can be installed on the designer PC and thus added to the available fonts for the presentment target and used like a normal font (this requires that the printer be able to accept downloaded fonts).

  • Anyone know how I could print out a blank checking register from numbers. Seems like it could be simple but my templates all have numbers in them.

Just looking for a way to print off a blank checking account register page or two.
I've never used numbers before and all I have seen is a register with numbers filled in.
    Thanks.

Sure. Create a fresh document by choosing the Checking Register template. Select all the cells you want cleared of data/formulas. Press Delete. You can also delete the chart and its accompanying table. Print it. Close it without saving (or save it if you want to have it around to print again later).

  • Issue Printing One or Two Checks on HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276nw

I just purchased an HP LaserJet Pro 200 MFP M276nw which replaces an HP Color LaserJet 2605dn.
I've run into an issue printing checkes from Quicken when I print less than a full sheet (one or two) checks.
With my old printer, I used the manual feed for a partial sheet.
Since the new printer does not have a manual feed, I have to put the partial sheet in the paper tray.
It seems one of two things happen:
    1) Sometimes the printer will print the partial page but then displays an error message which says something like "Unexpected paper size, load letter."
It then re-prints the partial page on the next sheet of paper.
    2) Othertimes, it prints the partial page without the error message, but then feeds the next sheet of paper throught the printer.
In either case the next page contains the next three checks, so it's either wasting checks or printing on the wrong check numbers.
Any suggestions on how to avoid these issues would be appreciated.

    Me too.
I've been using an alternate printer for printing the checks, but I'd rather get rid of the old one. (The HP Laser Pro 200 takes up a lot of space!)
KC, Seems like you've been waiting for an answer for a VERY long time.  I'm not going to hold my breath.
Hey HP!  Do you ever monitor this site?!

    Restart
If the printer stops during printing, for example because of a power failure, you will need to restart
    the print program.
    1. To do this, choose System   Services   Reporting.
    2. Enter the name of the print program (RFFOUS_C) and select Program   Execute.
    3. Enter the data identifying the print run and enter the check number from which the
program should be restarted in the Restart field.
    4. Select Program   Execute again.
If there is a system crash during the print run but before any checks have been printed, you
    should proceed as follows:
    1. Correct the error that caused the system to crash.
    2. Delete the check information. To do this, choose Environment   Check information
    Delete   For payment run.
    3. Restart the print program but do not use the restart option described above.
If there is a system crash during the print run and some checks have already been printed, you
    should proceed as follows:
    1. Correct the error that caused the system to crash.
This error may occur, for example, when a check lot is used up and the next lot has not
been maintained. In this case, the first thing to do after the system crash is to enter a
new check lot. See: Maintaining Check Lots [Page 7]
    2. Delete the check information. To do this, choose Environment   Check information
    Delete   For payment run.
    3. Restart the print program but do not use the restart option described above.
    4. Delete the print output from the print management files.
    5. Now restart the print program, this time using the restart option, (see above).

    Hello,
    1. Create a new form and add this info.
    3. Check from where the form is retrieving the data. If you're using Zform you can adapt it to meet your requirements.
    4. Check FBZP for this payment method in the respective company code. Check if "single payment per marked item" is flagged.
    Hope this helps!

  • Print 2 copies of check for payment

    Hi,
I need to print 2 copies of check (one for supplier and one for accounting) on a laser printer but SAP don't permit me.
    Do you have an idea?
    Thank you,
    Frédéric Marchand

    Bonjour Frédéric,
You can only print one copy of cheque (Checks for Payment) if you are indicating "2" copies in Document Printing. If you change the number of copies in the printer window (i.e. where you select the printer, etc), you will get 2 copies of the cheque. If you are printing off multiple cheques, you will probably need the alternate pages to be blank paper (don't think the Collate option will work since check is probably 1 page).
Another option -  your Accounting dept may be okay with the Outgoing Payment report/template.

  • Checks to be printed

none of the checks on the list of checks to be printed was preselected as usual and it will not allow us to select them.
    What could be blocking this?

    Hi,
Check whether 'Lock Check Printing' under the House Bank set up is checked or unchecked?
Try to uncheck and see whether the list of checks are displayed to be selected or not.

  • Printing Credit Memos on Checks

My question revolves around finding a solution to printing credit memos on checks.
Currently we have a client who prefers to to show his credit memo's on his check stubs therefore they do not associate the credit memo to the AP invoice but leave it open so that they can associate it during the Outgoing Payment process.  As such, when they print out the check, the VENDOR REFERENCE NUMBER for their AP Credit Memo is a random generated system number and not the VENDOR REFERENCE NUMBER on the AP Credit Memo.
I understand that is due to the fact that the PLD setting is only extracting the VENDOR REF. NUMBER from INVOICES only and an AP CREDIT MEMO is not an INVOICE; therefore, it gives me an random generate number sequence.
I wanted to know if anyone has a solution to this issue so that the INVOICE and CREDIT MEMO both show up on the CHECK STUB with the correct VENDOR REF. NUMBER from the correct fields.  Thank you.
    Warmest Regards,
    Kaus

  • Document Printing -Checks to be printed

After printing checks, it is automatically confirming all checks. Is there a setting for this?? We want to be able to confirm or set as damaged.

When a check has been printed, it should be confirmed by default.  That is logical.  Unless you manually reject it as damaged, I don't see any benefit that user should control this process.  As for the setting, the only available ones are under Print Preference - Per Document - Check for Payment.

  • "Checking Device" at printer startup

Officejet Pro K5400, Windows XP - when first installed, once in a great while (maybe once every 6 months?) the printer would print out a "Checking device" page after startup, and then would take 5 minutes making noises.  Now it prints out the page every other time I turn it on.  Not only wastes time, but also wastes ink. Any reason why it would do this after 2 1/2 years of use?

I don't know if this is the "real" answer, but I had been using a power strip that cut power to the printer without my actually pushing the power button.  When I got more conscientious about using the power button and then clickibg off the power strip, I have not been having the several minutes of checking and the printing of the color sheet.  That was the only change I made that I can think of that might have stopped the check.

How do I fix this problem ... the printer says remove and check color cartridge.  I have done this many times.  No change it still says the same thing.

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system?  Is the cartridge an HP or a third party?
