Classification in Task List/Production order

Hello Experts
I am trying to understnad how Task list classification (class type 18) is used and what is the utility; what config ,master data and transaction data settings are required?
At what stage system asks to enter char values ? Productin order releae, connfirmation or good receipt ?
I am investigating to use this functionality as a replacement for Batch Management. Our clinet does not want to use Batch Mgmt.
I am thinking if I can use this funactionality and enter batches in production order  at siome stage as char values.
Appreciate your thoughts.

  • Open Items List Production Orders

    I have been having issues with my inventory quantities.  After a little investigating I have  found that a majority if not all my production orders are within in the Open Items List.  I had the Idea that once you copy from a production order into Receipt from Production the order would then close.  Have I been missing a step in my process? What should I do to stream line and correct the issues?

    Receipt from Production will not close the Order.  You have to change those order status to Closed in order to close them.

  • Scope of Check Variation in Missing Part list Production Order

    Hi,
    I have a problem that While creation or conversion from planned order to production order if i get missing part list i found that Scope of check is as Z6 and ZP (Checking rule).But when when i Release the same production order also am getting missing part list here when i check scope of check as Z6 and PP(Checking rule).
    Why this difference is coming,can any body tell the possible causes.

    Kumar,
    Its simple for creation and release of Production order different checking rule is used(This must be intentional). You check this in OPJK transaction,  check for your order type / Plant combination for Business function 1(Create) the checking rule assigned would be ZP, whereas for the same order type / Plant combination for Business function 2(Release) the checking rule would be PP.
    If you want the same, you can change it here. But I assume there must have been a purpose for this custom checking rule creation. You can find the scope of check difference between these 2 combinations in transaction OPJJ.

  • Batch classification during GR against production order using txn MIGO

    Hello All
           I am usng batch classification during for movement type 101, when am doing the GR against production order using txn MB31 the system automatically navigates to classification screen wherein i need to enter the characterstic value & it all goes well, I can also view the stock with batch no and the classifcation value when the GR is being done with txn MB1.
          But when am dong the same thing i.e. GR against production order using txn MIGO system doesnt navigates to classification screen for characterstic value entry and am able to do the posting. I want that system must navigate to classification screen automatically if i do the GR using MIGO also as it doen in the case of txn MB31.
           Please suggest what settings are to be done for the same, I am unable to figure out why the system is behaving in this manner. Kindly provide your inputs to sort out this issue. Waiting for your valuable inputs.

    did u refer SAP Note 519303 ?
    After keeping Batch Classification as 4 in OMCV, in MIGO, it will start showing the Batch Classification button under "Batch" Tab, it will not show the Batch Classification Pop-up automatically as it shows in case of MB31.
    If you wan users to enter the characteristics values mandatorily in the Batch Classification then in CT04 for these characteristics activate Entry required indicator in "Basic Data" Tab

  • Deallocate maintenance task list from order

    Dear Expert
    I have attached a maintenance task list in maintenance order through Extras>> Task list selection>>direct entry.
    due to some reson I want to deallocate same task list from that order.
    how I can do it.????

    thank you so much for your reply. I tried this and when I was trying to assign same task list with same geoup counter(but modified operations)it is giving below error.
    how to correct it ??
    and deleting operations from order,does not remove task list  from maintenance order. it still shows under planning tab.

    Extras --> Task list selection --> Direct entry
    To add automatically  check User Exit
    IWO10020 -Automatically include task list

  • Indicator on task list and order which shown Document is attached ?

    I have attached a document in task list through PRT in task list succesfully. Is there a indicator  in task list which  tells that yes a document is attached to task list ?
    Secondly is there a indicator in workorder which tells that yes a document is attached to this partcular task list ?

    Not sure about header level but in operation one check box is available for PRT.
    If PRT is attached to operation check box is automatically selected..
    On header screen at bottom you can see PRT check box if it is attached to first operation.

    I have defined the class and char and assigned to Rouitng operation.
    I would like to know following;
    1. What other master data and config is required to make it work.
    2. At what stage system asks to enter chararacteristics info i.e. at order confirmation or goods receipt

    hi all,
    my user want a report of task list requirement is listed below
    user fills task list in order generated automatically. they want to get the report of task list filled against order no and equipment. is it possible through standard reports or i have to do developments for the same.

    Your requiremnt is  not a straight fit solution coming from SAP provided standard reports like IW38, IW39, IW40,IW37N or IW49 as stated in above replies.
    I remember a blog posted some time ago for a similar requirement. Here is the link, go through the link and u will find the exact solution.

  • HOW CAN WE ASSIGN THREE TASK LIST TO THREE DIFF PRODUCTION ORDER

    we have one material which is used for three places FIRST IN MILL1, 2ND IN MILL2 AND THIRD IN TRIMMER MILL.
    the only thing which differentiate this single material is  the production order. we have 3 different production order but one single material. for this we have created 3task list. my problem is when we create batch and confirm it through co15, the lot reflects in QA32. but is not allowing for USAGE DECESION. For that we have to go to QA02, assign the task list and then again go to QA32 and do the usage decesion. is there any method by which we can assign three task list to three production orders so that qa02 step could be avoid.

  • How to exclude certain operations in PM order from task list?

    Hi Experts,
    we have number of operations in task list and being attached to in maintenace plan. While scheduling Miantenance Plan system is creating order as per requirement with set of all operations present in the task list. we would like to restrict certain operations needs to be appeared in the maintenance order? any enhancement will work for this kind of user requirements?
    suppose if task list is having 100 opeartions. when we do scheduling by using this task list through maintenance plan system is defaulting 100 opreations in the order as per standard. we would like to restict certain operations not to appear in the order, even it is present in the task list!

    Hi ,
    If you could convert this order type as Service order you will get a field called Service Product. Then you can use Classification and Characteritics for the service product and the Tasklist to choose the required operation in the service order created by the system. You need to use the techniques of varinat config to achieve this functionality.

  • Task list timings are not copied to the Productio order

    I have created a task list for an item say FGA, where I have mentioned the SETUP Time as 15 Min, MACHINE time as 10 Min and LABOR time as 10 Min.But, when I create a production order for the same item these timing details are getting copied into.Plz give me the reason and solution for this.

    1.First goto CO02 and enter the prod.order no and click on Read PP Master data and check now
    whether are you able to see the values in operation details screen.- YES AM ABLE TO SEE
    2.check the routing selection,selection ID,task list type details in OPL8. - i HAVE CHECKED AND IT IS NORMAL
    But still it is not working...........I'll give you two more hints to help me out.
    1. The production order for the same item with same BOM,same ROUTING and same ORDER TYPE is working fine.
    2. The system is using the task list to arrive at the scheduled start time and end time , but only in the operations overveiw tab it is displaying the SETUP duration and PROCESS duration as zero.
    Any more ideas mnagal......

  • Service product with task list

    i am using service product with task list in service order. in subsequent quotation (by DP80) the servcie product is coming as main item operations & materials in task list are coming as sub items.
    in our case we may have to add some more operations (unplanned operations) in the service order apart from those (planned operations) already populated by task list attached to service product. and these operations need to be priced in subsequent quotation.
    our problem: in the quotation even the unplanned operations are coming as subitems and hence there is no diferentiation between planned operations (coming from rask list) and unplanned operations (added manually in the service order). we need to differtiate between planned & unplanned operations in quotation for pricing purpose.

    There are following work-around solutions from my point of view.
    Option 1: create two different  ‘Std. Text Key’ in config  ‘ Planned’ & ‘ Unplanned’ and also attach same  in the task list.
    All the planned operation will come with suffix ‘Planned’ and same will be printed also. While you add the unplanned one that time add’Un-planned’ std text key’
    You can also drive reporting , costing reports , confirmation report separately for all planned and unplanned items
    Options 2:  After goods posting you can find the cost difference of planned operation and unplanned operation. Devolve some Z report and based on same you can send final bill

    Can you please explain what is "Production order classification" and the details steps to activate this.
    I know we have the "Classification" indicator in order type - OPJH and then we have to generate characteristics in OKQ3 (not sure how this works).
    Please explain.

    Classified orders can be selected in the information system for Controlling in a list showing all orders that have certain characteristic values and statuses.
    So system will classify the order based on common charactersic values, prodcution dates, qty. etc.
