Ayush johri

Hi Thomas,
I want the automatic calculated delta of available support packages and the actual support package level of my systems and for this i have to connect my DEV system and assign them to a logical component
1. How can i connect the DEV system to the logical component (if you can guide me through the steps )
2. As of installing Sol Man i havent created any solution manager landscape, now as you said sol man landscape would be used for connecting the DEV system to it. how can i do this ?
Please advice.
Your suggestions would be highly appreciated

  • Setup guide for Maintenance Optimizer in solman 7.0 ehp1 sp18

    Hi All ,
Please let me know the exact link where I can find the setup guide for Maintenance Optimizer in Solman 7.0 EHP1 sp18 .
I found a few guides but was not able to locate the correct guide for this particular version.
    Thanks
    Sunil Kumar

    Hi Sunil,
EhP1 for Solution Manager means you have at least SPS18. Therefore documentation based on EhP1 is still valid, although Maintenance Optimizer has been updated as of SPS22+
You can refer to this guide: https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700002003492008E

  • Solutions for Maintenance Optimizer via Tr. DSWP

    Hi!
    I have some simple question.
I have already installed Solution Manager and established all the steps for the Maintenance Optimizer.
I also created two systems via Tr. SMSY and have defined the logical components.
I also defined one solution via DSWP and would like to demonstrate that the maintenance functionality is working fine.
But I cannot see any systems, if I am clicking on "Maintenance Optimizer".
<b>How can I do this step in order to show the maintenance optimizer functionality for some solution in the Tx. DSWP?</b>
    Thank you!
    regards

    Hi!
    Thank you.
    >Go to the solution settings and make right click over the system, select "put in solution"
Where can I find this issue or which TX. do you use?
The second problem is thet I cannot see some grafic elements if I am clicking ot the Servers (Tx. solution_directory) and I am getting the error "Could not initialize"
    Thank you!

  • Maintenance Optimizer - ConfigTool.sh - SAP NetWeaver 7.0

    Hi Everybody,
First I wanted to set up my MOPZ  to do this I have to create a RFC "SAPSLDAPI"
Until there no problem but the next step become a little more problematic.
I have to run the admin tool  /usr/sap/SOL/..../j2ee/admin/go.
Unfortunatly I lost the password's J2EE_ADMIN, no problem google is your best friend and then I tried to run the config tool. Oh big surprise
The java class not found: com.sap.offline.OfflineToolStart
What can i do to fix this problem?

It sounds like you have two different issues here.
    MOPZ
    And Java Stack not starting.
Maintenance optimizer requires that your connection to SAP is in tact first through the saprouter.  Do you have all of that in place and is your rfc connections for SAP_OSS and SAPNET_RFC working.
SAPSLDAPI is a connection for the SLD not for the maintenance optimizer.
The link you put below doesn't have anything to do with configuring maintenance optimizer.  The ossnote you posted is a collective note for maintenance optimizer and points you to spro to follow the instructions.
    Review https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/solman-mopz
    Review ossnotes 990534 and 1024932
try running SE38  SM_PREP_MAINTENANCE_OPTIMIZER  That may give you some assistance.
Anyone that is going to download using the maintenance optimizer needs to exist in transaction AISUSER
    As for the Java stack.
It sounds like your path is not right.  Did you update your path environment variables with the installation directory of java?   Check that java -version is working from the <sid>adm login.

  • What is best practice for using Maintenance Optimizer to download SPS + EhP

SAP indicates in note 1095233 and many other documents that the best practice is to implement an EhP along with an SP Stack in the same queue. Furthermore, the only way to download the components of an EhP is via Maintenance Optimizer. However, in step 2 (Calculate download files automatically) you must choose either Maintenance (SPS) or Enhancement Package Installation (EhP); there is no way to tell Maintenance Optimizer that you want to download both SPS and EhP.
In developing the process for my team I circumvented the problem by saying to select Maintenance first to get the SPS into the Download Basket and follow that with selecting Enhancement Package Installation to get the EhP into the Download Basket. The plan would be to include all the downloads in the SPAM/SAINT queue with the expectation that SPAM/SAINT will be able to determine what must be included.
I'm wondering now whether that is a legitimate way to approach this and I am hoping others will share their process.

Actually, I don't believe you will get the entire SP Stack for ERP 6, you only get those pieces of the stack that are required for the Technical Usages you select for the EhP.  I'm basing that on my observation that you get a different subset of the files making up the stack depending upon your TU selection. Also, note 1095233 specifically states:
If now the corrections included in the enhancement package 3 correspond to ERP 6.0 SP level 11, SAP  recommends to update also the parts of your system to SP level 11 which you do not want to update to enhancement package 3  to achieve a consistent correction level in all parts of your application: SAP recommends to update all software components to the correction status corresponding to SAP ERP 6.0 Support Package Stack 11 with the installation of SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP ERP 6.0.
    Thanks,

  • System not available for selection in Maintenance Optimizer

    Hello,
When planning the maintenance in MOPZ I choose product version and the system displays a list of systems assigned to the Product Version. However, the list only shows one of the two systems assigned to the logical component (prod system). I have looked at the logical component in SMSY listed under SAP ERP -> SAP ECC Server -> Z_SAP ERP and both systems are listed and are "green". A Consistency Check of the logical component shows no errors.
Any ideas are helpful, thank you.

    Hello,
There is no 'display filter' on the screen you are referring to, Change Management -> Maintenance Optimizer -> Create New Maintenance Transaction. This is the initial screen of the maintenance transaction where it shows the 5 steps of the maintenance transaction. The following selectable fields are available:
    Priority
    Short Text
    Product version
When I make a selection for the product version an additional selectable table is available where I can select the systems. I should be able to see all the systems assigned to the logical component, however I only see one of the two systems.
I have checked two other Solution Manager systems and there is no 'display filter' or 'hide filter' button either.

  • Assign patch levels for component versions of system: Maintenance Optimizer

    Hello,
I am trying to have Maintenance Optimizer check for what files I need to download.  However, I get the following error:
Assign patch levels for component versions of system SXM.
I susepect that the problem really lies in the fact that the "SP Levels" in the "Software Components" tab is not populated in SMSY.
Does something read that information from the child system and populate the data automatically?  This is a new system install, and perhaps a step was missed in solman.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John,
MOPZ directs you to SAP Software Download Center in order to show you the lastest status and available packages.
If you are not seeing the packages perhaps you created you satellite system at solution manager pointing to the wrong product/version.
MOPZ is created to point you to the available Support Package Stacks for its products.
Normally one creates a system in solution manager defining it as an ECC server ( this does not have a download page for MOPZ ) when the correct assignment would be SAP ERP ( this last has a download page for MOPZ ).
If this is your case, you´ll need to redefine the satellite system again in our solution manager.
    hope this helps.

  • Error in Maintenance Optimizer in step "Select files for component "

    Hi everybody,
i would like to download patches for my system. I have defined a solution and now i will start the Maintenance Optimizer procedure to download, but when i press a button "Select Files..." an error "the page cannot be displayed" occurred.
Does anybody know what should i check in my configuration? Where can I find more details for error?
    Regards
    Bogdan

    Hi,
Here is the whole solution for you.
Hope you have implemented the note 990534 properly.
This is what I have done to resolve the same issue -
    Apply patch ST-ICO 8 and 9
    generate BC set SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000
    generate BC set SOLMAN40_CHARM_PROXYFACT_001
If the error still persist, you will need to work on the below notes. (997780)
    Goto SPRO - IMG>SAP SOL MGR>SCENARIO SPECIFIC>CHANGE REQ MGMNT>EXTNDED CONFIG>CHANGE TXN>CONSISTENCY CHECK IN CHANGE REQ MGMNT (define basic settings – SOCM_CHECK_002)
Deselect the 'Integr' field (integration with change management is required) for the checks listed below. The system issues a message stating that changes are not allowed and that the entries are SAP property. This is only a warning message. Choose ENTER to ignore the message and save your changes.
    Checks:
               IB_SYST_CHK
               S_USER_CHECK
               REQUEST_IN_PROCESS
               SOLUTION_ASSIGNMENT
               PRODUCT_ASSIGNMENT
               S_USER_CHECK
               EMPTY_CONTAINER
               SYSTEM_STATUS_OK
If you are getting the error "no active ibase" after this, try to implement 1030498.
Hope this helps. If this corrects your issue, please mark the question as answered and award points.
    Thanks,

  • Stack File for JSPM when using Maintenance Optimizer

    Hello,
As you know JSPM looks for a stack file when applying a support pack stack.  When using maintanance optimizer I see no way to get a stack file.  I end up having to do the work twice:  once to get the files in maintenance optimizer, and again I have to go to marketplace swdc to choose the files and create the list of downloads again only to save a stack file.
Am I missing something?  Is this double work really necessary?

    Hello John,
It seems that you are doing double work.
If you use the download type as "SLM" then you have a chance to transfer the XML to SLM. Else if you choose the download type as "Download Manager" then the XML should be created in the EPS/in folder of the Solution Manager system.
You also need to check whether you have applied all the applicable notes for the Solution Manager stack from the note 1122966 and that the BC sets for MOPZ are activated correctly.
Finally check the permissions on the EPS/in folder of Solution Manager to check whether there is a issue with authorizations.
A SLG1 log ( filtered by the username who creates the MOPZ transaction and time at which the transaction was created ) will reveal the errors in the process.
    Regards

  • License for Seting-Up Maintenance Optimizer

    Hello all,
Do we need a valied Solution manager license to set up maintanance optimizer? I know we have to create new users to set up MO, so I guess it will not work with user sap* alone.
Our customer wants to use Solman just to download the patches, can you please suggest an alternative if they are not ready for a solman license?
    Thanks,
    Sudhan

    Hello Sudhan,
I understand that your customers want to use Solution Manager only to download patches. However, there are many things which can be done with the help of Solution Manager. Just to let you know, in near future, Solution Manager will be one of the most important thing and which may become operating SAP without Solution Manager very difficult.
However, you need to have a valid licence to configure Maintainence Optimizer. So, it is better to have valid licence for Solution Manager not only for Maintainence Optimizer configuration, but also, in keeping the future prospects on Solution Manager and their benifits.
I suggest you to explain to your custormer the uses of Solution Manager.
You can also use the following link to get more information on Solution Manager.

  • No available selection for stack target at maintenance optimizer

    Hi all,
I have an issue. You can see from the screen shoot. I can not select target stack. What should i do at this moment? I want to configure for an ERP test system.
    Thanks and best regards.

    Hello,
This type of issue is a consequence of an error that went on before. The errors are usually caused by LMDB definition.
In order to determine what has gone wrong, please check the log tab. Also, the product version that you chose in Maintenance Optimizer and the LMDB definition are interesting information .
If system information privacy is a concern, you can open a support message for component SV-SMG-MAI.

  • Maintenance optimizer transaction dont see product version for a solution

    Hi,
I am having a very difficult time in understanding the concept of solution manager product system, instance, solution. Now, in Technical Administration >> Solutions >> I click on a solution, in the solution the product column is missing. Then it appears after some configuration.
Now, when I create a maintenance optimizer transaction, I select the solution but I don't see the see product version, nothing appears.
    Please guide

    Hi Shashank,
If I am getting you correctly then you are not getting product version in drop down in a new MOPZ transaction ?
    Use below steps:
    Run Transaction Solman_Workcenter.
Select the Solution Manager Administration tab.
    Click Solutions.
    Either.
Create a new Solution to add the logical component, or add it to an existing solution.
    If a new solution...
    Click on New.
    Give the solution a name.
    Set the Solution Data settings.
    Now the Solution exists.
Select an existing solution that you want the System to be placed (can be the new one).
Add the Logical Component to the Solution.
If the system is other than Type Production then...
    Go to change edit mode.
Right click on the SID, and select “Put in Solution” the cell the SID is in will turn green.
    Save.

  • Local logical system is not defined-Maintenance Optimizer Config

    Hi,
When I try to configure Maintenance Optimizer in SAP Solution Manager 7, it gives me an error saying "Local logical system is not defined"
But I have created a Logical client using SCC4.
And the other thing is for this created client, does not have any users on this client, If I run,
    SQL> select bname, UFKLAG from sapsr3.usr02 where mandt='400';
    Answer is "no rows selected"
So I cannot even login in to my new client as well. I tried with SAP/PASS no use. I tried to re-set sap by deleteing it nothing helped.
my login/no_automatic_user_sapstar parameter also have 0 (But this is in Red, I dont know why its like that)
Please help me to rectify both these issues. Issue with Maintenance Optimizer and loggin in to the new client.
    Thank you!

First of all, 'Logical System' and 'Logical Client' are two different things.
    For Client Problem:
You did create a client in SCC4.
    1. did you create a logical system via BD54 and then did you assign that logical system to this newly created client ?
    2. did you perform a local client copy to put data into this new client from an old or from a standard client like 000 ?
If you didn't perform above two things, then please do. Only then, you will be able to see some data in this client and will be able to to select statements, And, obviously the SAP*/PASS login (login/no_automatic_user_sapstar should be 0 after reactivation of profile and restart of the instance)
    For MOpz issue:
Could you please search in sap marketplace for any particular note specific to MOpz ?
