Client Specific Requirement Fixed bin storage type

Hi There is one requirement if anybody can help,
A company has fixed bin storage for a particular material, But they keep that Material in PC(Pieces) as well as in Boxes( say 1bx= 5pc) But they want to keep the pieces in a one fixed bin (say 1) and the boxes in a another different fixed bin(say 2), though the material is same.
So that when a transfer order is made for material in pieces it automatically refers to bin1 and if it is made for material in boxes it refers to bin 2.
Please any body help me and let me know how can we configure this. If you have any specific files please mail at
[email protected]
Thanks

Hello Harsimram,
Why you can not ask?
When the thing is not logically possible then there is always "Change Management"
Regarding the Requirement, We can not use user-exit with fix bin strategy so that option is also out of scop.

    hi all,
Each time a goods receipt is posted for material ABC, you want to move the material directly to
the fixed storage bin FIX-ABC in storage type 005 of warehouse number 001 without creating a
transfer requirement or transfer order. To do this, you need to set up the system as follows:
    1. Create the fixed storage bin FIX-ABC in storage type 005 that is defined in the standard
system using the fixed bin search strategy. (See Stock Placement Strategy F: Fixed Storage
    Bin [Page 359])
    2. Create a special movement indicator for your warehouse number.
    3. Add the special movement indicator and the fixed storage bin FIX-ABC to the material master
for material ABC. (Be sure to enter storage type 005 in the organizational level dialog box
    when creating the material master).
    4. Create a new WM movement type to move materials directly into fixed storage bins without
creating transfer orders or transfer requirements.
    5. In the reference movement type table, create a new entry that links an appropriate IM
movement type to the new movement type using the special movement indicator.
i follow the above all the steps but the stock not moved to my fixed bin (005),instead of that its moved to shelf storage bin(002) . plz,try to solve my problem.
    Appreciate your help as always.
    regards

    Hi
In the configuration for st type search strategies you can create a st type indicator (maybe FIX)
In the placement (E) you can add this indicator to your warehouse and in the table add 005 st type only which means if the system sees this indicator it has to go to 005
Finally in the WM1 view of the material master add the FIX in the stock placement field and then every time the material arrives it should look at the FIX nd then go to the search strategy and see that it goes to 005.
If you have lots of material for this strategy then when you have done the config use MM17 to update all of the materials with FIX.
    I hope that this helps

  • Open Transfer Requirements - Fixed Bin replenishment

We have a situation where TR's remiained open for lack of stock in source Storage types. When these Tr's are closed as completed, they re-appear due to min/max. It is being cumbersome to check each TR if this was due to LP21 or a genuine TR. could some one advise how to get around this issue. Mov type 319 is configured to ctrate TO from TR autommatically.
    appreciate any help on this.
    thanks

    What is a "genuine" TR?
    One idea:
When listing TRs in LB10 you can see the movement type. For fix bin replenishment you can define which movement type should be used by system. Based on this you can distinguish between replenishment related TRs and other TRs.

    Hi Shree,
It is not possible to avoid that. And also, it is not advisable also. System has provided this functionality so that we should be able to track the changes happened at different dates and time. Try to explain the use of the functionality to your core team so that they would understand the importance.

  • WM : Automatic replenishment TO for fixed bin from warious storage types

    Hi Gurus,
We have storage type 011 - fixed Bin storage type , 022  - self Storage and 055 - High Rack Storage. Also we have set up for automatic TO creation for fixed bin in fixed bin storage type when stock falls below minimum fixed bin quantity.
My problem is : system only creates TO when there is some stock in 055 - High Rack Storage. If there is no stock in 055 system doesn't create any TO. But there's lots of stock in 011( other than fixed bin) and 022.
we want system to serch for 055/ 022/ 011 sequence. So if there is no stock in 055, it should go for 022 and then 011.
Can anyone advise me on this? I will be really grateful.
    Kind Regards

  • One t.o. fixed bin replenishment

    Hello, and good day
I have a question about replenishing fixed bins. We currenty use two step with TR-TO mirror TR-TO creation automated via batch job and it's working fine. The issue is that the replenishments are slowed to much waiting for the second t.o. that brings the stock to the fixed picking bin.
My question: is one step replenishment a standard SAP function and please guide me on the steps to implement if so.
Or provide me with any links or documentation on the process please, So far I have only been able to find info on the two step process, I have only seen some posts mentioning movement 320 for this but it wasn't clear to me if there where specificaly refering to a one step replenishment.
When I say one step I mean to say only one transfer order - source = genaral storage - destination = fixed bin
user in genaral storage can view the t.o. for source bin and do the physical move then another user access the same t.o. and confirm when the stock is placed into the fixed bin, so in practice it's still a two step but in the system user only needs one t.o.
    we have WM active obv

    Hi
Reason for error message "LP301- no material relevant for stock replenishment found" is because the below statement fails to find the record from table MLGT on the set criteria, Looks like there is  a mismatch in the LP21 selection entry screen (Plant, warehouse , fixed bin storage type, requirement number, requirement type) and master data which you defined. check the entry on the selection screen
or the another way to check is goto SE11 enter table MLGT
on the selection screen pass the warehouse number, Pickface storage type(005) and execute, check whether system is giving you any result or not
Make sure the material is extended for pick face storage type
fixed bin is defined in the material master WM2 view, the bin should be from pickface storage type 005

  • Re: Materials stuck in Storage Type 916

    Hi all,
I am having a situation which I am unable to figure out the cause.
In our current environment, we have implemented SAP WM.
Now in a normal Sales cycle (Sales Order > Delivery > Invoice), a WM TO is required to do the Picking after a Delivery Document is created.
When a WM TO is created it picks up the stock from a Fixed bin & Storage type XYZ (based on the search strategy) & then puts it into the Storage Type 916 & Storage Bin= Delivery Document Number.
Once the Delivery is shipped (PGI) then this stock is removed from Storage type 916. This works fine.
However there are many deliveries which have been shipped in the system, but the stock for that material is still in 916 storage type. I am unable to understand how to go about this situation.
Kindly guide me through the initial probe for this situation.
    Thanks
    Vinit

    Hi
I have checked all the status.
The Goods Movement status of the delivery is C
Also the delivery has been invoiced.
When I analysed the same in LT22
TO#       Item    Material  Stor. Typ  Source Bin   Qty Unit   Plnt           Created On         Typ   Dest. Bin        Dest.target qty
    159173   0001  Material#    009        MTS01        1    EA      US89        10/07/2009        916  0080080207             1
    168198   0001  Material#    916   0080080207    1    EA      US89         10/07/2009       009   MTS01                     1
    180051   0001  Material#    009       MTS01         1    EA      US89         10/12/2009        916 0080080207              1
Now the 1st entry is of the WM TO when the Delivery Picking takes place.
Then the remaining 2 TO are created by some business user using Movement type 999.
Hence I am not sure if a transaction has triggerred it or has he done it on purpose.
My final objective is to have this stock hanging in storage type 916 - Dyanamic bin, to move out of the system as the delivery is already shipped.
Can anyone guide me so as to how can I acheive the same effect to the system as that of movement type 601.
    Thanks

  • Wm fixed bin & sales order material differentiation

    Hi Friends,
If I have one material which can be used in production & also can be sold to customer.
As I have fixed bin strategy if qty is low for the goods receipted from the vendor then it goes to fixed bin else high rack.
For the purchases for sales order we keep that material in high rack storage.
How can I differentiate so that goods receipt for sale should be moved to High rack storage.

    hy,
we have the material that has a fixed bin setted up like this:
    eg.
storage type 001 = fixed bin
storage type 002 = reserve (high rack)
so all the material that have a fixed bin, have the set the stock placement value in the material master to 002. Then we have a replenishment job that always refills the stock in the fixed bin location if the stock has reached the minimum bin quantity.
    hope that helps.

  • WM fixed bin

    Dear Experts,
I am using a putaway method of fixed bin.I have defined the fixed bin in the material master. I will be using capacity check # 3 (max quantity of bin).
Now, during putaway say the fixed bin is full,
    1. Is it possible that the system moves the qty to the next empty bin within my fixed bin storage type or does it always putaway the qty into the overflow area defined as the 2nd entry in my storage type search table? Can i influence this with any specifc user exits?
    2. if my putaway qty is 5 cases. Say in my fixed bin, current stock is 4 1/2 cases. During putaway in this scenario, system will suggest to putaway 1/2 case into the fixed bin and the remaining 4 1/2 into a different area? The recieveing clerk will not want to break open the case into 1/2 cases. How do i resolve this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Please not that capacity check (1-3) is at quant level: For inspection method 3, the Quants of the corresponding material are putaway to a maximum of this quantity. For the above-mentioned reasons, it also applies here that the mixed storage should not be allowed.
Refer OSS Note 392776 for more information.
For your 1st question: I think its better to have Near picking bin as the 2nd entry in your storage type search table.
For your 2nd question: Using Inspection method 3, a different bin will be proposed as the check is in quant level.
    Regards
    Deepak

  • Replenishment for fixed bins in WM

    Hello Experts,
I have a need to create auto TOs for replenishing fixed bins.If I am correct for auto TOs,i dont need to run LP21.
I have defined a custom WM movement type for 319.In the custom movement type I have defined source storage type and destination storagetype and selected Auto TO in background.
I have defined replenishment control for storage type-- entered the movement type and selected  repleishment method '1'.
Can some one suggest me if i am missing some thing?
Do i need to define the search sequense as putaway to be directed to fixed bin storage type from other storage types?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
Yes, you are correct, you need to define search sequence for the storage types and for the replenishment storage types as well.
    Hope it is clear.

  • SUT issue while replenishment of fix bin..

    Hello,
I have two storage type 035 overstock with SUT IP and fix bin storage type 005 with SUT allowed as F1 only. While replenishment, from over stock 035 to 005 fix bin  with transaction code LP21 TR gets created.  I am getting SUT related issue while converting TR to TO as SUT IP from 035 is not allowed for storage type 005 which has allowed SUT as F1. I can resolve this error by manual input as F1 SUT while creating TO. But for may of such TRs it is time consuming task. Is there any way by which we can convert the TR to TO without manual input of SUT as F1? Please note that, I don't want to allow SUT of 035 to fix bin in SUT configuration.
    Thanks,
    Milind

    Hello Jürgen,
    Thanks!
I am closing this forum with summering the resolution as below.
    (1) The only way to achieve this in standard way is, to allow both SUT IP and F1 for storage type 005 in customization. . If there is business constrain of not to allow SUT IP for storage type IP then, either we need to manually change SUT or look for development.
I am proposing below simple development in point (2)
    (2) Main principle of development is to use TO creation functional module and add default value of SUT F1.  We can use this in RF customized transaction.
    Thanks again Manish and Jürgen,

    Hi,
I think, you are missing "A" indicator at the movement type level and at the storage type level. Please check.

  • Change in Transfer Order for Storage Type & bin

    Hi,
I want to change destination bin change during TO Creation. Steps are given below.
    a) SPRO : Storage type setting: Two options are t there in stock placement section
Storage bin cannot be changed during confirmation
1     Storage bin can be changed during confirmation
    I set it to 1.
    b) LT06 : TO Created.
    c) LT12: TO Confirmation: TO lines are coming grayed out. We can not change Destination storage bin, storage type , and section.
Could you please advice me how to change TO Bins change during confirmation.
Clients requirement: System will pick bin automatically. Print will be taken for this. Once placement is done & some of material are not kept as per TO Bin number. its a different bin,. Now User want to change bin number during TO Confirmation.
    Thanks ,
    Gupta

    Hi Gupta,
In WM customizing - master data - storage type - in the detail data of
the relevant destination storage type you set the flag
'Dst bin ch. during confirm.' from space to 1. Then the destination
storage bin "in general" can be changed at confirmation time.
Additionally you need to setup for the movement types that you are using
that you work with the new confirmation list, see detail of the movement
types, box screen control. (Try changing this setting to '1').
Please also read in the R/3 library - logistics - logistics execution -
warehouse management - warehouse movements - transfer orders - transfer
order confirmation - confirming transfer orders.
Here it is described when the destination bin can't be changed even
    with the correct customizing settings.
If you set the indicator for Destination bin change during confirmation
for the desired storage type in Customizing for Warehouse Management
under Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Master Data ->
Define Storage Type, you will be able to change the destination bin when
confirming a transfer order if, for example, the destination bin
proposed by the system is damaged.
NO destination bin can be entered during confirmation for:
    - dynamic coordinates
    - return items
    - Lean WM (if the destination bin is defined in the movement type)
    - posting change TOs
    - inventory based on putaway
    - additions to existing stock in storage units
    - transaction Confirm single item
Please check if your TO is related to one of these cases !!!

    Mauro
