Clusterware Installation - Clock Skew and Packages Issue?

Hi,
Can someone share how to resolve installation issues in Clusterware10.2,
rac1 - VM Centos4.7, 512 RAM
rac2 - VM Centos4.7, 512 RAM
Both VMs are located on Windows XP physical box.
1. error while copying directory /u01/crs/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs with exclude file list 'null' to node 'rac2'. [PRKC-1002: All submitted commands did not execute successfully.
- when I check the log, time stamp in rac2 is 'x' in the future, where x = variable, 2 sec, 100 sec etc.
What is the allowable clock skew between 2 nodes?
2. My cluvfy output command failed due to not exact packages,
Ex. compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.128
actual package, using command ( rpm -qa compat-gcc*)
-  compat-gcc-32-c++-3.2.3-47.3
   compat-gcc-32-3.2.3-47.3
Can we proceed to installation with not exact package version?
3. During installation, all configuration assistant failed. Any idea why this is happening? My cluvfy output is shown below.
Thanks..
[oracle@rac1 cluvfy]$ ./runcluvfy.sh stage -pre crsinst -n rac1,rac2 -verbose

Pre-check for cluster services setup was unsuccessful on all the nodes.

Hi
answer q1
This error because your second node time was greater than node one, this is causing OUI failed in running tar command on second node.
you need to set node 2 time slighter less or equal to node 1 time
answer q2
yes we can proceed installation with package greater or equal than required
answer q3
it seems your VMs memory allocation were to small (512MB). I don't think that would be enough to installing rac.
and try to install required packages

  • Clock in , clock out and absence issue

    Hi friends,
In our company, planned working time is 7:00 to 16:00.
I have an approved absence request from 8:00 to 10:00, but instead of 8:00 I left company at 8:20.
So my time events are as below:
    clock in = 7:00
    clock out = 8:20 (instead of 8:00)
    clock in = 10:00
    clock out = 16:00
    approved absence request = 8:00 to 10:00
    my expectation from system:
delimit my absence from 8:20 to 10:00.
Which customization are necessary in which table or PCR or Schema?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.
    Best Regards,
    Leila

    Hi Leila,
In your positive time schema, you will have to ensure that functions P2011 and P2001 don't have any parameters maintained. First call in function P2011, then function P2001 and then the custom function. The function P2002 will come in after P2001.
The input and output of your custom function will be Table TIP. You should ask your ABAPer to compare time pairs of pair type 1 (IT2011) with time pairs of pair type 2 (IT2001) in Table TIP.
Whenever there is an overlap between time pairs of IT2011 and IT2001, it means that the absence record would need to be adjusted. You should determine whether the start time or end time of the absence needs to be adjusted.
Based on that, you should pass an entry in a staging table with the details of the absence type to be replaced.
In your case, you will pass an entry in your staging table to adjust your absence type from 8:00 - 10:00 to 8:20 - 10:00. We are using the staging table because during time evaluation run, master data is locked and the custom function won't be able to update IT2001.
You also need to create a posting program which will read data from staging table and update IT2001. You should schedule this posting program as a background job at 1 hour frequency to update IT2001. In some cases, master data will be locked and hence, the posting program will leave the record in staging table. Once the record is successfully posted in IT2001, it should delete the record from staging table.
You can keep an option that the program should try to post a max of 10 times and if it is unable to post in 10 attempts, it should an email notification to the HR team regarding this.
I hope this information is helpful for you and will help you design the solution.
    Thanks and regards,
    Vivek Barnwal

  • I can't install 10.5.2 because of an installer package issue. Can anyone help me out?

I recently bought the Iphone 4S and wanted to sync my phone to my PC. I was prompted to download the latest version of Itunes 10.5.2 but the installation was interrupted due to a "installer package issue".  Has anyone encountered this issue and resolved it accordingly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have more than one account now (e.g., one created during the install, and one/more restored from a back up), have you tried installing the combo (110 MB) update from the account you created during the erase & install (the very first admin account created)? If not, try logging into that account and try installing the combo update and see if the problem goes away. Then do a permissions repair (it might take a while).

I have installed the agent 10 or 15 times and one installation has failed, no error appeared during the installation but I am having inconsistent issues with my ethernet card not working here and there. We rebooted and can log into Novell client but the login prompt did not appear for ESM client or the icon was not in the systray. Everything seems to work, besides at times (a couple times today) it terminates his ethernet card/connection. I would re-image his computer but he has several applications and it would take several hours, so I am hoping someone has an idea to fix this issue. So I was trying to figure out why he did not get the prompt to login and why it's not in the systray and it appears to not have completed the install? I checked the add/remove programs, its not listed within their, I also checked the registry and found nothing for endpoint within their, but the files are within c:\program files\novell\zenworks endpoint security.
I have also tried uninstalling it but that fails due to it "not being installed", and it will not reinstall over itself either.
I did notice that stuninstdrv.exe is running in task manager. Any help would be great...

If you are searching the registry, check for the "Senforce" string. It should be at HKLM\Software\Senforce
Try running the install program for the ZSC with the following command line:
    setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1"
If you've specified an uninstall password, try this one instead:
setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1 STUIP=password"" (please note the double quote at the end)
Let me know if that helped you.

  • Clock in and clock out issue

    Hi All,
I am looking for  a solution for the below issue. Please help me out
Clock in and clock out details from third party terminal are stored in SAP in IT2011.
My requirement is if the duration between first clock in and last clock out is less than 4 hours system should consider as LOP for that day.
can you please let me know if I should a PCR or any other way.
    Regards
    Vish

    You can do as below:
Normally time type 0000 is used for normal attendance hrs in time schema PCR's like TP09, TP10, TP11.
Before CUMBT function, call a PCR using ACTIO to do as below:
If the daily value is time type 0000 < 4.00, insert a w/t for LOP absence hrs for the day.  The hrs can be as per the business rules:
a)from IT 7 -  provided IT 7 has the correct data from WSR and WSR is correct.
    HRS=IDAHRS           daily hrs
    or
    HRS=IWEHRS  HRS/5    weekly hrs/5
    or
b)from the DWS for that day
HRS=S        -DWS hrs including any substitution
See example below assuming 0000 time type for normal attendance hrs, 8001 time w/t for LOP hrs.
                 D   HRS=D0000    HRS?4
    <                HRS=IDAHRS  ADDZL8001
    In payroll,
    - Time w/t's from time eval are imported by ZLIT function (usually in XT00 sub schema).
    - PCR XPPF and its sub PCRs this w/t hrs can be used to reduce the partial pay factors e.g. /801 used to reduce the payments like basic pay, etc.
    - PCR XVAL uses these factor w/t's to reduce the payments.

  • MSI application and "normal" application package issue

    Hello,
I have an application (called PRO/II v8.3) that I need to package.
The application is delivered with a .msi installation file or/and a .exe file
Both ways works fine with a manual install.
    - First install with the .msi:
The msi install is the easiest but when logged in as a 'normal' user the msi install fails with error code 1603. Apparently the msi needs Admin right to execute. I called the software provider and there is no other way to execute the installation.
One way to install the .msi through zenworks correctly is to associate the application to the workstation and allow the app to launch in the worsktation reserved memory space (distribution option). But this way isn't correct for us because our users usually switch workstations, and this app isn't delivered to all users...
    -Install with .exe file :
The install process goes Ok. The snapshot seems to be Ok but when delivering the app through zenworks, the application is unable to launch.
It shows a windows installer window again and again.
Looks like the snapshot process didn't took all the files or registry.
I'm unable to find out what is missing.
Is there any way to get out of this mess?
    Any help is highly appreciated!

Ah, well I have always said that the MSI installer is utterly braindead..

Did you do the snapshot on an absolutely clean machine? I use a virgin Xp
    VM for that.
One way, although tedious to find out what it wants is to use
filemon/regmon to see what it loops for

Yes the snapshot is made from a fresh install workstation.
I tried to check the differences between 2 workstations (one with the snapped app and one with a hand made install).
This application has so many files and it's very very difficult to find out what is missing in the snapped workstation.

  • CS5 Installation and Update issues

I am trying to re-install Photoshop CS5 onto my Win 7 Ultimate System. I know from previously installing it several years ago that there was an issue with installing it with Adobe Raeder on a system. Something to do with folder location issues. I have tried re-installing CS5 and it does install (apparently Reader issue solved(?)). Both 32bit and 64bit seem to install ok. I can open Photoshop and access the program.
Problem:  When I try to do updates for the software, that are available, they download and then hang on install. The Adobe installer stops responding and nothing installs.
Could someone pleas assist me with this issue.

  • MIG v2.3 clock skew

    Hi,
I am having issues closing timing on a design that uses the MIG to interface (via AXI4) to DDR3 (AXI clock = 250MHz, DDR3 clock = 500MHz). In the failing paths (-200ish ps WNS) the problem appears to be down to clock skew between the source and destination clocks on the AXI4 read interface (see report snippet below).
I think this is down to the fact that I am not using the user clock output from the MIG, but the original system clock to register the read data.
Is it possible to effectively de-skew the two clocks?

    Hi

  • ERROR: The cabinet file 'Sql.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used

As the title indicates, I'm having this error during installation. It occurs when I try to install
the "Management Studio" part of the program. I've tried a bunch of things like
copying to hard drive and installing, but to no avail. To isolate the problem, i've even tried removing Reporting services, since at the time of failure it seems to be trying to install/configure the Microsoft.Reporting Services dll.
Additionally, I have SQL Express installed (installed it separately, not as part of the SQL 2005 DVD), VS 2005, .NET Framework 2.0, SQL Management Studio Express CTP. Could the Management Studio Express be causing a problem?
    Please note:
Although the error is about missing / corrupt Sql.cab, I have searched the entire dvd for the said file, but there is no file called Sql.cab on the dvd. Am I missing something?
Any solution would be greatly appreciated.

Reading though the many Google hits going way back AD-2000/AD-2006/AD-2011/AD-2014 for various installs including SQLserver_2008/2012 etc
I noted that in the main there were x2 common themes.
    1. Problem with corruption the original download.
--- Although I had not run the download checksum
--- I had previously just installed SQLServer2014_Developer successfully, so at the minute, I was confident downloads were ok.
--- Many hits mentioned this 'Sql.cab' file and 90% of the install had been successfull -
--- I figured the chances of us all having corruption of this one files were agaianst the odds and
    ---   probably re-downloading it would not fix this - but I kicked a re-download off anyhow .
    While it was running ...
    2. Network issue when installing - some of the hits asked if could be related to Virtual drives.
    --- This struck a chord
--- I had downloaded the SQLServer2014 .iso to my host PC and then copied it onto one OneDrive so I could access it within the VirtualBox_Windows_10.
--- From within the VirtualBox_Windows_10 I had then used SetupVirtualCloneDrive5450.exe to mount the OneDrive SQLServer2014 .iso and then autorun the install.
    What worked for me ...
    --- I decided to
--- 1. Copy the same SQLServer2014 .iso that had failed to install x2 from OneDrive to the c:\ root of the VirtualBox_Windows_10.
    --- 2. Remount the same SQLServer2014 .iso from c:\ again using SetupVirtualCloneDrive5450.exe.
--- 3. Re-run the SQLServer2014 install using the repair mode.
This time the [Maintenance] [Repair] install completed with all elements showing installed successfully.
    Hope this helps

  • Unexpected Termination SSIS package - Issue with SSIS packages after upgrading to SQL Server 2014

    Hello everyone.
We performed an upgrade of SQL Server 2012 installation to SQL Server 2014 (with last CU5 update). We found that all SSIS packages (even the simplest with just Execute SQL tasks) fail with Unexpected termination message. The issue reproduces with both new
packages (that are created from scratch with SSDT 2014) and old packages (migrated from SQL 2012).
Any ideas, please? We googled and found that it is a known issue that should have fixed with CU4. But we use CU5 and the issue is still here.

  • Slackware user - Arch install process and package management questions

I currently am using Slackware 12 with updates.  It has become increasingly cumbersome to compile new software given the number of dependencies that also have to be compiled, and have their own dependencies compiled, etc and so on.
Other than the fact that the adoption of new packages is somewhat glacial, and that there is no automatic dependency resolution, I really like Slackware.  Its fast, relatively easy to configure, and easy to use.  I'm conversant in commandline-ese.
I've been led to understand based on the Arch wiki that Arch is very similar to Slackware in its layout, but with bleeding edge packages and dependency resolution, so I would think it would be about perfect.
However, I also understand that the install is more difficult that Slackware.  How much more so is my question.  Is it impossibly confusing and unhelpful like Debian installation was, or just slightly more difficult than Slackware or FreeBSD (both of which have very smooth installation scripts)
Also, for packages that have to be compiled from source, are dependancies easy to satisfy from the arch repository, or do dependencies for new software have to be compiled with their dependencies.
I'd probably just be trashing everything but /home, and doing a clean reinstall.
Is Arch the right distro for me, or am I better off staying with Slackware?  Like I said, I really like Slackware except for the package management issues.

    You are right about that.
However, I also understand that the install is more difficult that Slackware.  How much more so is my question.  Is it impossibly confusing and unhelpful like Debian installation was, or just slightly more difficult than Slackware or FreeBSD (both of which have very smooth installation scripts)
They are quite similar, but Slackware provides more help when doing tasks like - how can I partition my harddisk and so on. But If you're comfortable with Slack's install procedure then installing Arch is much easier, just read the install guide.
I think Arch is good for you, because currently I have both - Slackware and Arch and both suit me fine for my needs.
Also remove all *. entries in your /home

  • GNOME 3.12 Power and Graphics Issues

Hello, this is my first post.  Please excuse any stupidity...I didn't mean it.  These issues seem related, so I am going to list them all here.  I have searched extensively for infomation on how to fix these problems over the past few weeks and have come up empty handed.  I will try to mention everything I think is relevant and be as concise as possible (but will probably fail).
My Arch is installed on a desktop system, a GPT partition, no dual boot, and uses GRUB (efi) as boot manager.
My packages are fully updated with both "gnome" and "gnome-extra" groups installed.
Kernel is 3.14.2-1 (also tried 3.14.3 from testing - same behavior)
Video is xf86-video-ati with a Radeon 6670 (same problems with a AMD 7950 and onboard Trinity APU)
I did not use GNOME 3.10 so do not know if these problems existed in previous versions.  I switched to 3.12 from KDE (did a fresh install on a wiped HDD)
    Problems:
    1. When I boot the computer I see the boot messages and everything is fine.  When it gets done and tries to start GDM the screen turns black for approx 5 seconds and then returns to the boot messages for approx. 3 seconds.  Then the screen goes black again for approx. 10 seconds and finally GDM appears.
    2. Any time GDM is open, i.e. I have not logged in yet or have logged out of a previous session, and I go to a tty, log in as root or my user, and type "systemctl stop/restart gdm" the computer freezes (including the tty I am on).
    3. The blank screen setting in GNOME settings behaves strangely.  If I let it blank and then move the mouse it shows me that clock screen.  If I press escape and the lock screen is enable the clock plays an upwards animation, shows the lock screen, and when I log it shows my desktop, but for approx. 2 seconds none of my user settings (favorites, date in the clock, etc.) are applied.  After the 2 seconds the settings  violently flash into place.  When the lock screen is not enable (what I want), and I wake the screen I get the clock thing and when I press escape there is no upward animation.  The clock screen goes away immediately and then I get the desktop with the same delay in applying my settings.
    4. If the screen is blanked for a long time (it is hard to tell how long) and I move the mouse I get the clock but the computer is frozen.  I can kill X with Ctrl+Alt+Backspace and log back in and everything is normal.
    5. Suspend is utterly broken.  If I have both the blank screen and suspend timers turned on in the GNOME settings the screen will blank at the appropriate time but the suspend will never happen.  If I have the blank screen option off and auto suspend on the computer suspends but freezes on the clock screen.  In this case if kill X and log back in the desktop works but I have no graphical effects (fade, zoom, etc.).  As far as I can tell the only way to get them back is to reboot the computer.
5.1 If I type "systemctl suspend" in a terminal the suspend happens, and when I wake the computer I am returned directly to the desktop (no clock), but the same graphics problem occurs.  Reloading the shell or logging in/out does not fix it.
5.2 If I boot using "linux-lts" (currently version 3.10.39-1) and suspend using the GNOME setting I get the clock and can get back into the desktop but have the same graphical effects problem.
5.3 If I edit the idle options in "/etc/systemd/logind.conf" the system becomes unstable (choppy effects, delayed keyboard input).  Even after a reboot.
    What I've Noticed:
    1. In both Cinnamon and Openbox "systemctl suspend" works as expected.
    2. Cinnamon's screen blanking and suspend functions work correctly.
    3. I tried lightdm, and when using GNOME no power settings work at all.  It seems these features are intrinsic to GDM now.  However, with lightdm I do not get the log in screen delay durring boot.
    4. I tried reinstalling the system thinking maybe something got corrupted somehow but it did not help.
    5. I tried removing all user settings files from my home directory and it did not help.
    6. There are other things I've done as suggested by the wiki or random forum posts, but none of that helped either and probably isn't worth mentioning.
    7. These issues are reproducable consistently with no variation.  I believe that these are bugs in GNOME's code, but thought I'd ask anyway (what do I know?).
There are some interesting things in the system logs, but Google returns nothing useful.  There are tons of things in these logs that look important to me, so if you think a particular one will be helpful please tell me which one.
I have found several things (forum threads, bug reports) that resemble what is happening to me, but they all claim that the problems have been fixed or suggest solutions that are not relevant to me (but have led me to believe that the problem is related to ati graphics).
    Thank you for your help.
    UPDATE:
It seems this is a problem with GDM.  If I use Lightdm "systemctl suspend" works fine when logged into GNOME.  Screen blanking works fine with Xscreensaver.  Unfortunately Xscreensaver turns the screen off when I'm watching videos, so it is useless to me.  I guess the solution for now is to turn the monitor off when I leave the computer and use a terminal and the sleep command to suspend (logind idle settings don't do anything at all with Lightdm, I guess).  This is a terrible solution, but I guess it will have to do until a fix is released, if it ever is.

    @Strider:
Concerning the second part: Gnome uses tracker to index music, videos etc. globally.
Which directories are indexed can be configured under system settings > search > [cog menu].
There you can add the /videos folder to the indexed folders.
I'm not sure whether this also solves the first problem.
