Co Product & By Product Scenario in CO

Dear CO Experts,
I have scenario regarding Co Product and By Product in my client place.
May I know that what is the Co Product and By Product concept in Controlling module
and how valuation and standard prices happened.
Please let me know what are the configuration required.
Please do the needful.
Regards,
KBR.

Hi ,
You need to define follwoing Setting for Co Product:
1. Create Source Structure in SPRO
2. Assign the Source Structure to your Production Order Settlement profile and on the Settlement Profile Check Mark on Equivalence Number and Enable to Profile for Order Item
3. On your main Material Master Costing 1 Tab check mark Co Product Option , click on Joint Production, give the Number and select the Source Structure and click on Equivalance Number button on the same screen, Enter your main product and Co Product define the Equivalnce Number
For Example Main Product and Co Product ratio is 55:45 so you haev to define both numbers
4. In BOM check Co Product and the Qty of your Co Product the Qty will be in Negative.
Once You create Production Order system will show two line Items as OIT for both the materials.
Hope this helps.

  • CO-Product Scenario reporting

    Dear Team,
We are using Joint Production scenario. For the same, we need to do one extra step in the month end which is Preliminary Settlement for Co-Products (CO8A/CO8B). After the step is run, the cost is distributed among the process order materials (main and co-product). The cost object of the same is Order Line Item (OIT). Similarly the goods receipt (101 material movement) also takes place on OIT.
Now, when I run KOB1 report, the data booked on OIT (Order Line Item) as cost object is not visible. I can not see those costing lines in the report.
Is there any other standard report which can show me the cost line items like KOB1 for the multiple orders having joint production?
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Jay Shah.

    Check this oss

  • REM with Co-Product scenario.

    Dear Friends,
Can we use REM with Co-product scenario? In CO-PRODUCT scenario, while creating the production order I am getting 2 line items in the settlement rule (one for the main item and another for the co-product). During GR w.r.t. order, system is proposing 2 materials with 101 movement. But in case of REM, system is creating single line item in the settlement rule. System is posting the co product also as by-product using the 531 movement only not as 131 movement. Hence clarify me... whether can we use co-product scenario along with REM or not??? Please note that I have used the same source structure.
If you need any further clarification, please let me know.
    Regards,
    Surya.

    Hi
CO Product scenario won't work in REM SCENARIo, Because Setllement is not an order based, Its a period based.
SAP WON"T recommended the coproduct scenario in REM. So please change the scenario to discrete or PP-PI for that material.
Pls refer the link for further clarification

    Hi
    Marketing Organization
The marketing organization is an attribute of marketing plans and campaigns. It is part of the SAP organizational model that enables you to define how your company structures responsibilities in its marketing activities. You use the marketing organization to map the marketing logical enterprise structure to the organizational units in your company.
The marketing organization has the following attributes:
    Product category
    Country
    Reference currency
You use these attributes to describe the marketing organization. For example, if you base your organizational units on brands, you can use the product category for the brand.
The marketing organization can be completely different from the sales organization or the service organization in CRM.
Marketing organizations are relevant for campaigns and marketing plans only. They are not relevant for trade promotions or deals. Consequently, the Marketing Org. field is available for campaigns and marketing plans only.
You can use the marketing organization attribute for:
    Authorization checks
You can use the marketing organization in authorization checks, for example, to determine whether a user is authorized to change a particular campaign.
There are no marketing-specific authorization objects for the marketing organization. You can add authorization checks on the level of the marketing organization by using standard Organizational Management structural authorizations, or authority object PLOG. You can go down to the level of user name to build the authorization environment. To make settings for the structural authorizations, see Customizing for SAP Web Application Server, under  Application Server  Business Management  SAP Business Workflow  Authorization Management  Structural Authorizations .
Automatic entry and checking of marketing attributes
The system can use the marketing organization for providing default entries to certain fields in Marketing.
    Partner determination
For example, you can use the marketing organization to determine the appropriate marketing manager for the assigned marketing organization, and assign it to the campaign (on the Partner assignment block).
    Workflow routing
You can assign a marketing organization to a campaign, and then start a workflow based on the attributes of the campaign. For example, you change the status of a campaign with a particular product category to For Approval. The system routs a workflow item to all users who are assigned to a marketing organization with this particular product category.
    Cost planning
Cost planning enables you to split key figures across multiple dimensions. For example, you can use the marketing organization to distribute the costs of a campaign across several marketing organizational units.
    Reporting
You can use the marketing organization in reporting. For example, you can measure the success of a particular organizational unit.

  • Best practices for a development/production scenario with ORACLE PORTAL 10G

    Hi all,
we'd like to know what is the best approach for maintaining a dual development/production portal scenario. Specially important is the process of moving from dev. to prod. and what it implies in terms of portal availability in the production environment.
I suppose the best policy to achieve this is to have two portal instances and move content via transport sets. Am I right? Is there any specific documentation about dev/prod scenarios? Can anybody help with some experiences? We are a little afraid regarding transport sets, as we have heard some horror stories about them...
Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

It would be ok for a pair of pages and a template.
I meant transport sets failed for moving an entire pagegroup (about 100 pages, 1Gb of documents).
But if your need only deals with a few pages, I therefore would direclty developp on the production system : make a copy of the page, work on it, then change links.

  • Buy gift(product) scenario in loyalty management

    Hi exports,
we'd like to implement the buy gift scenario with loyalty management in our CRM system. for example, member can buy one product as gift with his earned points.
For this scenario, i have following question:
    1. how to define product "price" with points?
    2. how to integrate product master data with loyalty management?
    3. Any standard functionality to cover this scenario?
    any suggestion would be  appreciated.

  • Material Valuation for Finished Product in Production Scenario

    Dear SAP Gurus,
Kindly recommend appropriate Material Valuation Control for Finished Product in manufacturing scenario. SAP recommends pricing control 'S' (Standard), but my client's buying nature is not periodic(varies), they buy material on requirement basis (On actual material consumption ) which is very frequent. Pricing for each buy also changes due to the market conditions. You are requested to suggest me appropriate Material Valuation Control (either S / V) for Finished Product along with reasons, advantages & disadvantages for the same.
    Thanks,
    Shantanu

    Hi Alll
Well one disavantage in material with 2/V for production consumption is in case of incorrect goods receipt, incorrect price for example, all your consumption will be wrong.
For correction you would have to reverse all production posting, correct the goods receipt and repost the production confirmation.
If you were using 3/S configuration, all consumption would be done in standard price and at month end material ledger would calculate the actual price for price revaluation. People from MM would have time to correct the entries during the month.
    Regards.

  • Production Scenario

    Hi All,
    We have a scenario for production which is as mentioned below;
Let's say e have an item X which is used in a BoM A for the production of FG. The item X is purchased in KG and the inventory is maintained in KG. The item X may be trimmed or can be used directly for production purpose. If the material is trimmed, then the waste/ scrap should be maintained so that it could be sold later as scrap.
    The wastage can be of two types;
    A. Where the scrap quantity is defined (known) and
    B. Where the scrap quantity is not defined (unknown)
Now, once the production is completed, we would like to track, how much material X was used direclty i.e. without trimming and how much was used after trimming ? Could this process be mapped in SAP B1? Please guide.
    Thanks,
    Joseph
Edited by: Joseph Antony on Mar 19, 2010 3:27 PM

    Dear Mr Antony,
If I have understood correctly you have a BOM with one item whose quantity is mantained in Kg.
You can choose just a part of the quantity set in the BOM for the child in the Issue for Production (if the child item is manual).
Let me know if this could help.

  • Service ticket process caters to multiple product scenario ?

    Hi All,
We have an existing business process where in we use IC service ticket to trouble shoot customers problems.
    The process is
    a) Agent confirms the customer
    b) Agent registers the product or confirms the registered product.
    c) Agent creates the service ticket
When a customer calls in with issues for multiple products then agent has to create multiple service tickets and customer has to remember multiple tickt ids in order to follow up.
This leads to a bad customer experience.
So is there any way we can have multiple products in service ticket? So that agent gives one single ticket id to customer and also agent maintains one single ST to track.
We thought of using complaints, but its too risky for us to change the entire business process at this time.
If we use service order then also the same since IC service order UI is same as IC ST ui,.
Apart from customization is there any OOTB  way to deal this use case ?
    Thanks
    AMol

    Hi Amol,
You can definitely add multiple products once the Service Order is created. However if your requirement is to confirm multiple products at the time of registration then it would require you to tweak a lot of code around confirm. Also, you will have make amendments to the UI on the Account Identification screen to handle this as well.
    I hope it helps.
    Thanks,

  • Co-product scenario doubts

    Dear all,
Why auto goods movement is not possible?
To make auto goods movement what are the possible ways?
For co-product material whether Backflush indicator to be maintained or not in material master?
    Regards
    Rajasekaran

    Hello Raja,
It’s not possible to do automatic good movement for co-product manufacture in standard SAP.
There is some possible way to do automatic goods movement.
    Please refer SAP note
38108 - Automatic goods receipt for manufacture of co-products
Refer this link also if MES system available in you organization.
    https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000743838&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700001277312011E
If you use the industry specific component is MILL (e.g: metal, wood, paper, textiles, construction materials, and cable sectors), In this case SAP allowed to automatic good receipt for manufacture of co product
    Refer below SAP note :
944312 - Order confirmation and automatic GR of co-products

  • Bill at Production - Scenario

    Hi Experts,
I have a unique requirement and not sure how to handle it in SAP, we are in manufacturing company, we dont have SAP PP and product costing. Here is the business process, we get an order from the customer  and we manufacture it and we send the invoice before the goods as been delivered to the customer. Once the stock comes out of shop floor we put into unrestricted stock and from there we move it to customer stock in our own warehouse, once we know the goods as been reached the customer stock, we send the invoice to the customer and later stage we ship the goods from our warehouse. At certain times, we invoice the customer, before the actual production is complete. I am not sure how can this be handled in SAP and also the accounting entries in SAP. Could somebody provide some advice, thanks.
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards
    gj.

Please give process step by step to understand properly & suggest.
You are mentioned Invoice to Customer two times.

    in HELP.SAP.COM is the answer.
    Product Cost Collector
    Definition
Cost object in Product Cost by Period that collects the periodic actual costs incurred in the production of a material. When you use a product cost collector, the product is the main cost object.
    Use
Product cost collectors are independent of the production type. This means that you can collect actual costs on product cost collectors in the following production environments:
In order-related production (that is, when you are using production orders) when you want to analyze the costs by period rather than by lot
In process manufacturing (that is, when you are using process orders) when you want to analyze the costs by period rather than by lot
    Repetitive manufacturing
In repetitive manufacturing you always use product cost collectors as cost objects.
Product cost collectors are available from Release 4.5A onwards. In earlier releases, the costs of repetitive manufacturing materials were collected on production cost collectors. From Release 4.5A onwards, production cost collectors are converted into product cost collectors. For information on the conversion process, see Converting Production Cost Collectors into Product Cost Collectors.
    Order splits for production orders
When you split production orders, the costs for the parent order and child order are allocated to the same product cost collector.
See also: Order Splits in Cost Object Controlling
    Constraints
Product cost collectors cannot be used for the following objects and production environments:
Manufacturing orders that settle to a sales order item if you are using a nonvaluated sales order stock in sales-order-related production
Sales-order-related production with a valuated sales order stock, except in repetitive manufacturing environments
    Engineer-to-order environments
Manufacturing orders that are part of a collective order
    Joint production
Joint production is a production process that yields two or more products in a single production run. In the Product Cost Controlling component (CO-PC), there are a number of special processing requirements in joint production environments regarding Product Cost Planning (CO-PC-PCP) and Cost Object Controlling (CO-PC-OBJ).
In shop floor control, a manufacturing order (usually a process order) is created to manufacture co-products. In the manufacturing order, co-products are carried on the order items.
In Cost Object Controlling, actual costs are collected on the header of the manufacturing order. At the end of the period, the actual costs on the order header are distributed to the individual order items. Work in process and variances are calculated at the order item level. The order items are then settled.
    Integration
In joint production, the system normally accesses master data of Production Planning for the Process Industries (PP-PI) such as the master recipe and materials list, or master data of Production Planning (PP) . To distribute the planned and actual costs to the co-products, the system uses the apportionment structure that can be specified the material master record or in the manufacturing order itself.
    Terminology
    Co-product
You specify that a material is a co-product by selecting the Co-product indicator in the MRP view or costing view of its master record.
    Fixed-price co-product
    A fixed-price co-product is a special type of co-product.
    Primary product
You specify that a material is a primary product by selecting the Co-product indicator in the MRP view or costing view of its master record.
    Process material
A process material is a nonstock material that is used in the R/3 System to represent the process by which co-products are produced. Instead of the primary products, you can enter a process material in the recipe header and in the order header.
Process materials have material type PROC.
    By-product
A by-product is a product that is produced incidental to the production process of other products. You enter by-products in the material list of a primary product or process material with a negative quantity.
You do not set the Co-product indicator in the MRP view or costing view of the master records of by-products.
    Intra material
Intra materials only exist temporarily between two processing steps. Intra materials appear in the material list as items of category M, but are not costed.
If the process is interrupted because of a malfunction, however, intra materials may have to be transferred into inventory. In this case they are valuated with a price in the material master that is selected through the valuation variant for the valuation of goods received.
Intra materials have material type INTR.
    Circulating material
You can specify whether the cost of a circulating material should be included in the material list. The system selects a price for the circulating material from the costing view of the material master record.
If the circulating material is flagged as relevant to costing, the material costs appear in the itemization twice: once with a plus sign and once with a minus sign. The balance is the material input costs.

  • SNP Capacity plaaning scenario with planning products

    Hello APO Experts,
I have come across a capacity planning scenario in metal industry.
Suppose the machine is producing sheets of thickness ranging 2mm thickness to 8mm thickness. There are three groups as shown below P, Q, R,
These individual product orders are loaded on Resource: W100
Groups                                                          Limited Capacity In Tons          Individual products   Planning product
    Group P: Less than 2 mm                                      75                          a1, a2, a3, a4, a5                       P
    Group Q: From 2mm to 4 mm                               100                           b1, b2, b3, b4, b5                     Q
    Group R: From 4mm to 8mm                                 325                         c1, c2, c3, c4, c5                        R
The total sheets produced in one day 500.tons  All the groups should be producced on daily basis in the sequence of P,Q,R. Limiting the capacity given above. In SNP planning , I would to limit the capacity based on the basis of planning products.
The planned orders will be coming for Individual products that are a1, a2, a3, a4.
In SNP planning run, the quantity of Individual orders should be sum up at the group level.
For Group P : a1, a2, a3 u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for Capacity of 75 tons order quantity.
For Group Q : b1, b2, b3u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for capacity of 100 tons order quantity.
Like wise for Group R : c1, c2, c3u2026. Sum up and the quantity should be checked for capacity of 300 tons order quantity.
I want to use the planning product concept to model this scenario. P will be the planning product for a1,a2,a3....
Q will be the planning product for b1,b2,b3....
Following master data created : Material master , BOM , routing for individual products. Material master for planning product. Planning product updated in the material master of individual products in MRP view.
Please let me know , your suggestions for use of planning product scenario with capacity check on product group level.
    Waiting for your reply.
    Regards,

    Ravindra,
So, you are saying you are unconcerned about consumption of independent demand, and unconcerned about performing ATP against a forecast, which are the main feature of a planning product?  You are only interested in how your supply elements and capacity consumption is aggregated/disaggregated?  If this is the case, I don't understand why you would wish to use Planning materials.  Based on what little you have told us of your requirements, I would think that Product Hierarchies would be more suitable......

  • Map Scenario Goods Issue to Production without PP Module

    Hi All
In one of our client have Implemented PS & all basic module in customer project. Now they want to map their production activity under one of the WBS but they don't implemented PP module. So how to do goods issue process for semi finish or finish material which contain BOM. Is it possible to map production scenario in PS without PP module ??
As per my knowledge by creating internal activity we can manage cost for each operation as we maintain in routing but how to make goods issue of child material to parent material in BOM.

    Hi Ahemad
I already search forums before post to fulfill my requirement. Assembly items are created in network activities and are represented as reservations with negative quantities. You can assign an assembly item to an activity either manually, by entering a negative requirements quantity, or by using BOM transfer. can you focus more light on this as I tried this scenario I face the problem with negative quantity
