Color palette problems using Toolbar and ImageList ActiveX Controls

I'm using Toolbar and ImageList ActiveX controls to implement toolbar functionality in a top-level VI.
I designed the icons used in the toolbar with a 256 color palette. When I initially added the icon images to the ImageList control and ran the VI, the icons were properly displayed in the toolbar, as expected. After saving VI, exiting LabVIEW, and reloading, it appears that a different palette has been applied to the images in the ImageList control. I'm attaching a screenshot of the problem as well.
Has anyone encountered this type of problem before? Any suggestions you provide will be greatly appreciated.

Measurement Studio 7.0 Standard Edition provides support for Visual C++ 2003, Visual Basic .NET 2003, and Visual C# 2003. It just so happens that the Visual C++ support includes ActiveX controls, which are usable in VB6. The CWGraph ActiveX control provides both graphing and charting functionality.
However, full Visual Basic 6 support, including examples and documentation is not in the Standard edition. It is in the Professional and Enterprise Editions.

Color mangement problem using 10.6.4 and CS5

(i've posted the same problem in Adobe's photoshop forum but I'm also trying here with Apple's users since it might be a problem between 10.6 and the xerox drivers... maybe...)
hi ! im in charge of a big print lab in a university. All macpro quad running on 10.6.4, CS5 all updated
i have a major problem when printing from all 3 CS5 apps : Illustrator (being the worst), photoshop and indesign : each one produces a different print even if i use the SAME color management options (the application manage color using my own color profile file created with a i-one tool from greta macbeath and using eye-one match 3). im printing on a XEROX 7750gx laser printer. very cool printer never had trouble with colors before with it, in any case it was always the software part that was causing color problems (like i suspect in this case).
how can 3 softwares under the same application collection and brand, using the same color profile and options (IDENTICAL ! it's triple check all the options!) can produce 3 different prints when printing the same image (it's a color psd created under photoshop CS5) ?!
i remember having some trouble like this when we first got CS1 in our lab, but not this bad... i've checked everything... i realy don't know how to fix this problem...
the best setting so far is in Photoshop when the application manage the color and using my color profile file in perceptual mode. best output so far, not the best i had in the past, CS4 was way more perfect with color management.
i realy need to find a solition 'cause the students expect the color to be almost perfect (and they almost were using CS4 in the past...

We're using a Xerox Phaser 6280DN here and have seen the same issue. I'm pretty sure I've got it figure out, though.
Short version: The Xerox printer driver doesn't work right, when it is handling the ColorSync conversion.
Long version: I created a new profile for the plain paper I use and printed an RGB image out of PS CS5, letting the printer handle the color. Double checked to make sure all of the color options were set correctly and chose the new profile. The output stunk. Much too saturated (especially as you approached fuller colors) and some really harsh breaking in flesh tones where it went from lighter to darker areas. So I printed the image again, only letting PS CS5 do the color handling. Perfect.
So I went on to InDesign CS5 and Illustrator CS5. Both reacted the same way. If I printed either to let the driver handle ColorSync, I got the same lousy color as I did out of Photoshop. If I let the applications handle the color, I got identical results. I bit saturated in fuller colors, but without the breaking and nowhere near as over saturated as through the print driver.
Lastly, I converted the image to CMYK and printed that out of Illustrator CS5 and InDesign CS5 with the applications controlling color. Perfect. Really not too surprising as both are really intended for print production (InDesign in particular) and are just set up to work better in CMYK.
Photoshop CS4's output was identical to CS5. Through the print driver, junk. PS CS4 handling color, perfect. Any other apps I tried (including Quark 8.x) behaved the same basic way.
So something is wrong with Xerox's drivers. It is not handling the ColorSync conversions correctly.

Color Palette Problem

I'm somewhat new to Fireworks... I've been using it now for a
few months, but here recently I've run into something I just can't
figure out. It seems as though when I'm working with colors, I'm
working with a smaller color palette than what I worked with after
I first installed Fireworks.
If I pick a hexadecimal color value and try to use it in
Fireworks, it winds up picking the closest match to that color. For
instance, if I choose #FFFFE6 (very light yellow) as the starting
color for a gradient and choose #FFFFCC for the ending color,
#FFFFE6 will show up as #FFFFFF... almost white. This same problem
occurs using fills as well. I've also noticed that when using the
color picker, dragging it across a gradient may only show 3 or 4
colors, although I can visually see the differences in colors per
pixel at an enlarged resolution. Before a few weeks ago it would
show seemingly infinite numbers of hex values when doing the same
thing.
This problem didn't start until a few weeks ago... and I'm
pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to fix it. Any help
will be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you don't have 'Snap to WebSafe' enabled in the
flyout of the
color picker (upper right arrow)

Color Palette Problems on Kuler

So for some reason the color palettes won't download on kuler for me, every time i try and get a color scheme a shockwave flash somehow crashed. How do i fix this problem?

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. What version of Kuler are you using? (there are a couple different ones, for example, the webpage, the Android app, or the panel in a suite product). Based on your reference to shockwave flash, if its the webpage version, I would try either updating or testing in an alternate browser. I know some older versions of Firefox for example don't work well with the webpage version.

Color changes when using Vignette and Levels...

Its most promenant with reds, but when I am editing a RAW image and click Vignette, my reds turn orange-ish. I noticed this with Levels as well. Even after I click the reset arrow but leave the Levels box checked, the reds are still orange. This happens on different images as well. Any thoughts...? Thanks. mike.

Hi. I currently use Canon, and i only see it in my RAW files. All camera firmware is up-to-date. I am running latest version of Aperture, but still running 10.6.8. I went through a bunch of old photos where there was a good red color of something and i was able to duplicate the problem each time. Where there was a large area of red, it was VERY noticable. Also, I used to shoot with Nikon and my NEF files do the same thing where there is a nice red. It seems to be an Aperature "thing."
What i find so curious, is that even if I make no adjustments to the Levels sliders, just checking the box alters the color, same with the Vignette brick. Also, I do color calibrate my monitor. thanks.

Color Conversion Problems between Illustrator and Photoshop (and Mac and PC)

Hi guys (and gals) Hope someone can help me here.
Got an issue working with a web design companywho when opening my eps logo file from Illustrator (I'm running all CS5.5 they're running CS4) into their version of Photoshop the color values are different. I'm not talking about 'not looking the same' but when clicking on the colors they have different numeric values. I'm running Mac OS X ad they're running a Windows based OS.
My Illustrator file is in RGB mode. It has an Adobe RGB profile attached to it. I've set the web design company's PC version of Photoshop color settings to Adobe RGB and preseve embedded profiles as a setting.
However the conversion issue still happens. Tried exporting my color palatte as a .ase swatch file and imorting a new swatch set into their Photoshop and still getting the different color values.
Anyone experienced this issue before? Am I missing changing a color/profile setting on one of the machines/software packages?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Why are you using EPS? It is kind of outdated format these days.
EPS does not support color profiles. The default Save as EPS options in Illustrator include CMYK conversion which changes the values. To avoid this uncheck "Include CMYK Post Script" in the save options. Then when you open the file in Photoshop the RGB values will be the same and if you want it displayed the same, in Photoshop choose Edit > Assign Profile and choose the same profile - Adobe RGB in your case. The color settings in Photoshop will have no effect and can remain unchanged.
If you do that using the same computer the colors will be identical in values and appearance. If you do it on different computers the values will be the same and the color appearance will depend on if both computers have been calibrated to display colors accurately.

Any problem using bseg and bkpf tables

For fico details i using bseg and bkpf tables.
I noted that programming is very difficult because of these tables are cluster table.
plz give me other tables

Incorrect. BKPF is a transparent table and not a cluster table and you can use it just like any other transparent table. BSEG is a cluster table but there is no problem selecting from it so long as you use the key of BUKRS, BELNR, GJAHR - unless you are selecting a very large amount of data, but then this can cause problems when selecting from any type of table.
The advantage of using BSEG over the other FI line item tables such as BSIS and BSIK is that it holds all the lines of an FI document while the others will hold only a subset eg BSIK will only hold lines that contain a vendor reference and BSAS holds only cleared GL account lines. Though you can only use it when you have the key. If you need to search on vendor, you can use BSIK as a starting point, but since I usually need to get hold of all the lines on an FI document, I then have to select from BSEG anyway.

BUG? JDev 10.1.3.1.0 on MacBook Pro - problem using space and delete keys

Is anyone using JDev 10.1.3.1.0 production release on a Macbook Pro? I am experiencing problems using the delete and space keys. The delete key no longer seems to work at all when using any of the key bindings including Default MacOS X. Using the spacebar also seems to have a conflict with the code completion feature. I am finding that the code completion always pops up when the space bar is used and no space is inserted with the editor. The space bar only works when used in conjuction with the shift key. Can anyone verify if they are able to use these keys in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 on a Macbook Pro?

This was from the dmg file.
I found that in Preferences | Accelerators, Completion Insight lists 'Space' as an accelerator, right after 'CommandAIC'. Removing that fixed the problem, but I still can't fix the Delete issue.
The Delete action is assigned to the 'Delete' key, which is recognizes as the key combination fn-Delete. I tried to assign the Delete Previous Char to just the delete key, but pressing the Delete key while in the New Accelerator field is not recognized - it just pretends as if I had not pressed a key.
I'm looking at the the file:
jdevhome/system/oracle.jdeveloper.10.1.3.39.84/Default_macosx.kdf
trying to find entries for Delete and they are not in there - is there some other place I should be looking?

Problems using Hotmail and Twitter in Firefox

I'm having problems using both Hotmail and Twitter in Firefox (and Google Chrome) but they both seem to work fine in Internet Explorer. I can log-in to both sites but in Hotmail the drop-down menus and links don't work, and in Twitter the stream does not appear at all.
I've tried everything: deleted cache, history, cookies, disabled add-ons etc... I've also tried re-installing both new and older versions of Firefox and I've still had no joy. If anybody has any ideas for a fix I'd really appreciate it. I can't stand using IE but I am forced to at the moment.

My problem with Firefox & yahoo seems similar - so you are not alone.

Problems using MAX and PXI 8186 RT

I'm facing to problems using MAX
1) We have a 1GB switch in order to connect my PXI 8186 RT controller and the host PC, when i use this switch, and i try to access the cards plugged in the PXI card with MAX, MAX crash! When i use a 10/100 Mb switch everything is ok, i can access to the card without any problem ! I know the PXI 8186 controller is only fitted with a 10/100 Mb Ethernet card, but i think that must not be a problem , am i wrong ? Is this problem a known bug ??
2) I want to install all software used by my application on the host computer (in order to be able to reinstall the PXI8186 controller in case of a crash)! To do that i installed MAX 3.1.1, then all drivers NI-DAQmx 7.4, CAN2.2, VISA 3.3, and finally Labview RT 7.1 Embedded on my gost computer! After that i tried to download these software in the controller using MAX! The problem is these software are on the host computer (there are visible in system/ software) , but when i try to install them on the controller, max don't see them ! I tried to uninstall and re-install all software but no changes ... Is there a procedure or an order to install all these software ??? What should i do ???

The process to install software on RT controller is :
1/ Install LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1 on your host computer
2/ Install all driveres you need on your RT target
3/ On your host machine, in MAX, go to "remote targets"
4/ Expand "Software"
5/ Clik on "Install" button.
This application note will give you more details about above process.
Our controller is only provided with 10/100 MB network device. You have to check if you can configure your 1GB switch into 10/100 MB.

Web browser and script activeX controls and HTML data

Hello,
I'm trying to use the Microsoft Web Browser (IWebBrowser2) and Script (IScriptControl) activeX controls in Labview to evaluate and execute HTML script. If I wire the web browser control's document object to the object input of the Script control's AddObject method, I can then evaluate/execute script such as "document.f.btnI.focus();" and such (in this case corresponding to Google's home page). However, there are other expressions that include the "window" object that are proving much more difficult to work with. Although I can browse the document object's parentWindow object via the property browser, if I try to access that object programatically, I get the error "Error -2147467262 occurred at No such interface supported". I'm wondering how to include the window object for scripting.
I'm writing a content-oriented web crawler. I've been writing it with pretty low level TCP functions, handling 301/302 "object moved" and "<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="0; url=http://millercountyliberal.com/">" redirections manually. But there are other automatic script-based redirections like:

that I'm still trying to figure out how to work with. As you can see, to work with that one manually involves the window object. The reason that I don't just let the Web Browser object handle the redirections is because that object often throws script errors, downloads embedded graphics and other unnecessary components, can't handle some non-standard redirections, and sometimes annoyingly crashes. Any help would be appreciated. A code sample is attached. The Web Browser control should already exist on your machine if you have Internet Explorer installed. The script control may need to be registered before it can be used as follows:
regsvr32 "c:\MyDir\XHTTP.dll"

Hi Ted,
This seems to be a problem with the way you are referencing the ActiveX properties. I would research a little more on the API for these objects. See http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/browser/webbrowser/reference/ifaces/iwebbrowser2/document.asp for an explanation of the IWebBrowser2 Document property. I am suspicious of where you are typecasting the Document variant into the IHTMLDocument2 object and this is where the error is being thrown.
A search of this error code on Google shows that this is a generic error from the ActiveX object, and not a LabVIEW error, although it is confusing since LabVIEW uses error codes in this same range.

Problems with automation open for activex control

Hi,
I want to open an ActiveX Control (.ocx-file) with the Automation Open function. This .ocx file was successfully registered by using regsvr32.
The VI is working fine after using Automation Open and all the contained classes are accessible.
However, after saving the VI and opening it again the error 2147221164 appears and the program failes - referencing the object new at the Automation Open functions solves the problem, but only till the next reopening of the VI.
Hope somebody has a solution for this "instability"...

originally i had a dll written in c++ which contained classes - i wrapped this in a activex control to have access via labview. Im calling the activex control with the automation open function in same VI in which i am also using property nodes and invoke nodes to have access to the classes and methods...
But as i told before, it happens that Automation Open fails, when starting the VI again after closing(saving), even so it was working perfectly fine before...
