Column Header Display

Hello,
I have a requirement where the columns need display as given below:
When a Material is displayed with key then the header reads as "Material".
Whe both Key and Text are display the Key column has the header as "Material", whereas the Description column does not have any header.
Is it possible any way to display the text as "Material Description".
Appreciate any ones feedback.
Thanks
Sundar

The customer is looking for the Header to read as
Material Description
Vendor Name
Plant Name etc.  Since I have so many objects where this is a requirement it is a problem with the creative solution.  Although that is a great way to go with.
The VB is a maintenance issue and not allowed for any of the reports.  I would prefer something within BW to acheive the description.
Thanks for the quick reply.

  • Pivot Table Section Properties - Column Heading Display

    Hi guys,
    I've never noticed this until today but on 10G, we had the option, when formatting the section properties of a pivot table, to choose where we wanted to display the column heading (above, before, left, none - see image below).
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/orasud455twrphm/Column%20Heading%20Display.png
    In 11G I can't find this option anywhere, did they remove this option or am I missing something?
    Thanks

    Anyone knows the answer?

  • Measure heading display to left of measure instead of on top

    Can someone tell me how to move the measure headings to the left of the measure so it appears on the report as follows
    count of persons 1520
    instead of
    count of persons
    1523
    I chose the third option radio button in the pivot table for 'column heading display' but it didn't make a difference. I intend to create a report with the title headings to the left and the counts on the right and have only been able to manage this using dummy columns. There must be a simpler way to do this :(
    Please help.

    hi,
    move the "Measures" option in Columns section of pivot table to rows side

    Hi,
    I have the same issue. I have also de-selected the 'Allow row to break across pages' for the whole table but still the table breaks and continues on the next page.
    I see that the question has been answers correct but no solution provided. I would appreciate if you could post the solution.

  • Want to display a date in column heading.

    Hi all,
    Will be thankful, if anyone can tell me how to solve one of the issue i am facing in webi variable display.
    In universe, i am creating one prompt for date and user will enter the desired date, and with respect to that date, the previous date and previous month last working date will come. In my Webi report , i have 3 dates and one measure(Quantity) with other dimensions like Product and Subproduct.
    I have one cross table in which in want to show the 3 dates as Column heading, Product as row heading and Quantity(measure) in the table body. I have one more dimension as Area... which i want to show in horizontal way, for each Area, i want to show prompted date, previous date and previous month last date. I have created 3 variables....
    1. Current date = Max(date) In Report
    2. Previous date = Min(date) In Report
    3. Previous Month last day = (date) where (Rank = 2) ForEach(date)
    By this way, I am able to show Current date and  Previous Month last day in column heading, but not Previous day. Will appreciate if anyone can help me on the issue. let me know if any other information is required.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    The previous date is the previous business day, it can be dynamic. And previous month's last day is last business day, it can also be dynamic. And Previous daye can also be previous month's last business day in one of the scenerio.
    Actually i am using 3 filters with prompts (common prompt) in universe side. User will enter the date and corrosponding previous business day and previous month's last business day will come. 3 filters are:
    1. Current_Day = @prompt('Enter Date(YYYYMMDD)','A',,Mono,Free,Persistent)
    2. Previous_Day = (SELECT TOP 1 Date from [TableName] where Date < @prompt('Enter Date(YYYYMMDD)','A',,Mono,Free,Persistent) Order By Date Desc)
    3. Prior_Month last Day = (SELECT TOP 1 Date from [TableName] T where Month(T.Date) = Month(DateAdd(mm,-1,@prompt('Enter Date(YYYYMMDD)','A',,Mono,Free,Persistent))) Order By T.Date Desc)
    Dates are coming correct from Universe.  In Webi, i have created variables...
    CurrentDate = max([Date]) In Report
    LastDate = Min([Date]) In Report
    PriorDate = [(Date]) where ([Rank]=2) ForEach ([Date])
    I have calculated Rank for Date, and Rank 2 shows the Prior Date. Also, i have Entity, and want to show these dates for each entity along with 2 -3 more columns that depends on these 3 dates values. I am attaching the screenshot for the sample.
    Thanks

  • How to display the sorting arrows in the table column header

    Hi
    I am doing a sorting for some columns from the click of the table column headers, In Developer studio, we are able to view the up and down arrows, I need that also to be made visible at run time, so that the user knows that there exists sorting based on that particular column. Is there any other way of doing it ? I cant place more than one control on the header or wrap the text to two lines..also. please clarify. thanks

    I assume you are using NW 04.
    The table column header contains a IWDCaption element which may display an icon and a text. See property IWDCaption.imageSource.
    The table tutorial might also be helpful.

  • IR column Header value not displayed entirely during filteration

    I have a IR, when I click any column Header and it shows the list of values as a dropdown.
    some of them (which are larger) get cut off.. means the the entire content/value are not displayed within the dropdown. [width of dropdown is fixed and no of characters in the content/value is more..]
    how can we fix this?
    Also.. is there any we can increase the width of the Select List window when we click any column header in IR.

    Hi,
    jQuery is not included to Apex 3.2 by default.
    If you have not include jQuery library's to e.g. your page template or page header, then it is not "installed".
    You can run your app and inspect HTML source to be sure.
    You can download jQuery and jQuery UI and place files to your HTTP server folder. Then load those in e.g. page template header.
    Or use jQuery files from Google by placing to page template header.

  • JTable not displaying column Heads

    The table header is shown automatically when you add the table to a scrollpane and then display the scrollpane in a panel. You use the following code to build the table/scrollpane:
    // display table with ResultSet contents
    jTable1 = new JTable (rows, columnHeads);
    JScrollPane scroller = new JScrollPane(jTable1);
    but, you add the table to your panel NOT the scrollpane:
    this.add(jTable1, new GridBagConstraints(0, 2, 2, 1, 1.0, 1.0
    ,GridBagConstraints.CENTER, GridBagConstraints.BOTH, new Insets(12, 25, 0, 22), 522, 281));
    You should be adding the scrollpane to you panel.

  • How to display a Column Header for the characteristic Text column

    Hi All
    Our users want me to provide for a column header for the characteristic text.
    Here is what I mean
    I am reporting 0plant in the rows as key and Text. In the column on Plant Key the column header says Plant but there is no column header for the plant text.
    Eq:
    Plant                                                        Amount
    IE00         Initiator Plant                               244
    IE01         Initiator Plant NJ                          890
    Our users in the plant text column want a dummy column header to be displayed. SInce they download the data from the BW report to Excel and use pivot reporting. How can I introduce a column header for the texts.
    Thanks
    Karen

    Hi Karen,
    I am not sure if this is possible, although Users can ask anything :).
    In Planning we used to predefine cell headings via Macros and creating dummy cells in between.  I am not sure if a similar scenario can work here.
    By default this is not possible in Reports.  In BEx workbooks, you could probably try with Macros.
    Another easy option is to bring the data in the Cube as another field or create a nav. attribute in the master for text and use it as a nav. attr. in the Cube and put it in your Query row alongside.

  • How to display 2 lines in the same column header of jTable?

    Please could you help me to display 2 character lines in the same column header of a JTable?
    And how to make a fusion between to cells?
    Thank you very much

    In Swing, most components will accept text in the html format
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/html.html
    You can then use <br> tags to make your header text multiline

  • How to not display the column header in the table view?

    I do not want to display the column header in the table view, how can I achieve it?

    If you're using JavaFX 8 you can use the following in an external style sheet:
    .table-view .column-header-background {
      -fx-pref-height : 0 ;
    If you're using JavaFX 2.2, the -fx-pref-height attribute is not available in css, so I think you have to resort to a lookup:
    final Region tableHeader = (Region)table.lookup(".column-header-background");
