Common BOM/Bill to Copy BOM/Bill

Is there any process to Copy a BOM/Bill to same local-Org if its already enabled as Common BOM/Bill.
Here is the detailed steps:
1) BOM/Bill# 800-123 exists Global-Organization.
2) Go to Bills Of Material --> Bills select Org = Global-Org and query 800-123.
3) From Tools --> Create Common Bill --> select local-Og = LO1
4) Switch/Change Org to local-Org=LO1 and you can see BOM/Bill#800-123 as Common BOM here( cant edit but can see/read-only the bill, Header present in local and referring the structure from Global-Org, Bill-sequence-id from Global-org)
5) At this point I want to change copy the BOM/bill to same local-Org = LO1.
6) Go to Bills screen and give this BOM/Bills and click on Tools --> Copy Bill From. It showing error Bill Already exists.
Business reason/Requirement:
During engineering/proto-type they want keep the BOM in Global-org and refer it in local orgs as common BOM. And Once its released for manufacturing, it should be a copy-BOM (complete BOM structure should be available in Local)
Alternate Solution:
1) Delete that Common-BOM/Bill and copy the fresh BOM/Bill from GLO.
2) Custom code to change the bill-sequence-id and copy complete structure to local-Org.
My Question:
Apart from this deleting option or custom-code option, do we have any out of the box solution to convert that common-BOM to actual Copy-BOM ???
Thanks in advance / Praneeth

  • How to Copy from Billing document F2 to Credit or Debit memo?

    Hello,
I know the Menu path for copy control of billing document to billing document which  is as follows
SPROIMG-Sales and Distribution-BillingBilling Documents-Maintain Copy Control of Billing document--Copy COntrol: Billing Document to Billing Document where I give the Source and the target.
Now I have a scenarion where F2 invoice has ForTrade/Customs information in the Header of F2 invoice which can be viewd through VF03->Header->ForTrade/Customs tab.
Now that inforamtion has to be transferred to CR/DR which is now not being copied although I have set the copy controls between the billing document.
So, can anyone help me by providing the information for the following questions?
1.How will I acheive the copy of Foreign trade to CR/DR from F2?
    2. When I copy from F2 to CR/DR, which all information from F2 will be copied to CR/DR?
    Thanks for the help.
    Anupama Rao

    Anupama,
The foreign trade data is copied from delivery to billing and any order doesn't contains the foreign trade data and when you create a credit memo request CR by copying F2 invoice the foreign trade data is not copied to CR and when you create a G2 invoice from CR the foreign trade data is not copied because it doesn't exists
the optimal solution for this is to keep the incompletion for foreign trade in the G2 and L2 inovices

  • Bills of material[BOM]

    Dear all,
hi, i have got a dought in bills of material, i shall be very much pleased if some one helps me out of this.
using the transaction code CS01, i have created the 'BOM' for the material 'computer' giving the components as 'keypad' and 'CPU'. after creating the required thing i have saved the data.
later on when i tried to creat a sales order using this data, the components are not getting displayed in the sales order.
what i have to do to get the components displayed in the sales order.
    please do help me out.
    Regards,
    Sushmitha.

    Susmitha,
below is whole process for sales BOM-
    Sales BOM Implementation
A bill of material (BOM) describes the different components that together create a product. A BOM for a bicycle, for example, consists of all the parts that make up the bicycle: the frame, the saddle, wheels, and so on.
    Process Flow
When you enter the material number of a bill of materials that is relevant for sales order processing, the system displays the material that describes the whole bill of materials as a main item. The individual components are displayed as lower-level items.
There are two ways to process a bill of materials in Sales. Once you have entered a bill of material in a sales order, the system runs pricing, inventory control, and delivery processing at:
    - Main item level if the material is assembled, or
    - Component level if the material is not assembled
The type of processing used by the system is determined by the item category group that you enter in the material master record for relevant materials.
    Processing at Main Item Level
If you want the system to carry out pricing, inventory control, and delivery processing at main item level, enter ERLA in the Item category group field of the Sales: sales org. 2 screen in the material master record of the finished product. This means that the components only function as text items and are not relevant for delivery. The following graphic shows how a bill of material is processed at main item level.
    Processing at Component Level
If you want the system to carry out pricing, inventory control, and delivery processing at the component level, enter LUMF in the Item category group field of the Sales: sales org. 2 screen in the material master record of the finished product. In this case, only the components are relevant for delivery. During processing the system automatically creates a delivery group. The latest delivery date among all the components becomes the delivery date for the entire delivery group.
REWARD IF U FINDS THIS AS USEFUL...

  • Problem in Partial delivery BOM - items not copied in subsequent delivery

    Hi,
We are using BOM in Sales order and we have activated delivery group for the BOM header item category.
When we create first delivery we change the BOM header item quantity in delivey ( all the components quantity change accordingly) and save the delivery.
Now when we try to create second delivery with reference to the same delivery for the left out qunatity in sales order, system is not copying the components of BOM items ( it is only copying BOM header) from sales order to delivery.
Please let us know how can we create subsequent delivery with reference to the same sales order and delivery should get all the BOM items from SO to delivery.
Please let me know if you need further information.
    Thanks
    Venkata Rama Reddy,K

    Hi,
We already set the delivery group to A, and still having the same result.  We change the BOM header quantity only and automatically the component quantity is updated.
This happens only if there are two header BOM in the Sales Order.  See example below:
    Bom Header 1 = 100
    Bom Component 1a - 80 (partial delivered)
    Bom Component 1b - 20 (partial delivered)
    Bom Header 2 = 200
    Bom Component 2a - 150
    Bom Component 2b - 50
When creating outbound delivery, initially all the materials are copied to the outbound document.  If we want to delivery only Bom Header 2, then we will delete the Bom Header 1 line item.
Upon deletion, the status of the component becomes fully delivered in the SO, but the Bom header is still partial delivered.
Please confirm how to correct this.
**If there is only one BOM Item in the order, then partial delivery is ok..
    Thank you,

  • Create Return Order copy from Billing created from DBM Order Processing

    Hi SAP Gurus
I have scenario where the user requested to create return order based on Billing created from DBM Order Processing.
I know that, we can create return order from DBM. but the function copy based on order. the user is requested to do return
by billing document ( function as SD )
is this requirement can be done in SD VA01 where the user can copy the billing created from DBM and create return order using SD function

    Hi,
in DBM you regulary have mulitiple invoices per order (due to split).
You either can cancel an certain invoice and adapt the order or create a returns order based on an given order where you can select certain (e.g. invoiced) items.

  • Copying BoM into Inventory Transfer

    Hello!
i have a few bom's which have over 85 items in them. my client uses warehouses to manage sub-contractors and uses Inventory Transfer to send them the material. it gets very tedious to copy all items individually to the inventory transfer screen and potential to make mistakes can be very high.
is there a way to copy the entire bom contents into the inventory transfer screen?
all bom's are production boms as i would be sending them for production to replicate the sub-contractor's processes.
    i am using B1 2005b
    scorp

    Hi Gordon,
before I convert the components to FG, I am first sending the components to the sub-contractor. I need to create an Inventory Transfer to generate a Delivery Note.  sometimes, I send more items than required, so when the sub-contractor sends the FG back to me, the excess items are unused and kept at the sub-contractor's place to be used at a later time. That way, I wouldnt have to send that those items the next time I send another order to him.
therefore, i need to make a Delivery Note mentioning all the ~85 items that I am sending. most of the times, i will take all the items from the BOM list and populate them in the inventory transfer screen and just make changes to the quantity. making this list of ~85 items is a very time consuming process and i am trying to avoid this by being able to copy the bom components into the inventory transfer screen.
I need help to guide me as to how can i achieve this.

  • BOM  usage field in BOM Copy

    Gurus,
Am creating production (usage 1) BOM by copy from engineering (usage 2) BOM alternative 1. Once the first alternative production BOM has been created, is it possible to create the second alternative of this production BOM by copy of the engineering BOM ?
In CS01, once the first alternative of a BOM usage exists, (for instance production) the system only lets you create the following alternatives of the production BOM usage by copy of production BOMs. Engineering BOMs cannot be refered to anymore as field BOM usage is deactivated (and value "1" corresponding to production bom usage is set), only alternative field can be populated, in "Copy From..." screen.
What is the functional reason for the standard R3 to be like this ? Are there any work around ?
    Thanks for answers,
    Olivier

    Dear Olivier,
is it possible to create the second alternative of this production BOM by copy of the engineering BOM
in my understanding Copying  Alt 2 is not possible
i exactly don't know the functional reson behind this
May be experts can throw some light on this

  • Accounting Revenue distribution not copied when copying a bill

    Hello,
I'm trying to copy bills (copy single bill functionality) in PS 9.0. When I do this it only copies my account and alternate account and no other values (e.g. affiliate, project, etc.)
I'm sure I missed some set up but can't find which part.
Can somebody help me with this?
    regards,
    Stijn

    Hi Stijn
Assuming there are no customisations affecting the objects, I suggest you raise a service request with My Oracle Support.
PeopleBooks reads "The system copies all bill information—including any discounts, surcharges, notes, and accounting distributions, but excluding bill status and invoice date—to the new bill. The system creates the new bill with a status of NEW, with a blank invoice date, and with a current date bill added".
My experience is consistent with this information, so your situation is unusual and unexpected. I don't recall any specific setup or configuration that should affect this. I hope that helps.
    Regards
    Neil

  • Milestone billing is possible eventhough billing status is blocked.

    Hi,
The scenario is like: I create a sales order for a configurable material which requires to create sales order BOM. Now when I save the sales order, delivery block status and billing block status are shown as 'blocked'. Its obvious as I haven't yet created sales order BOM and run the costing for the same.
But still I am able to do the milestone billing after removing billing block from the billing plan.
Is it the standard SAP functionality or defect in the system?

    Hi
it is standard SAP functionality, based on the sales document type it will happen.
    cheers

  • Universal BOM as against other BOM types

    Hi,
Can any one tell me what are the benefits inter alia disadvantages of Universal BOM as against Production BOM, Costing BOM or any other BOM types
Please do not send the SAP Help Link as i already have it.
    I want something structured please...............
    Will be awarded suitably
    Thanks in advance
    Surya

    Hi Suryanarayana,
By means of BOM usage, you can manage separate bills of material for various internal organizational areas (engineering/design, production, costing, and so on).
The main differences in the BOM structure result from the different responsibilities in the various organizational areas, which all process different item data.
    Prerequisites
In Customizing for MRP, you have defined a sequence for the possible BOM usages for each plant in the IMG activity Define BOM and routing selection using the BOM selection ID.
    Features
The system first searches for a valid BOM or alternative BOM for the BOM usage with the highest priority. If the system does not find a valid BOM or alternative BOM in the selected BOM usage, then the BOM usage with the next-lowest priority is selected. The system then looks for valid BOMs for this BOM usage.
Many companies have only one universally applicable BOM structure for all areas of their company. This structure usually takes the form of complete single-level BOMs, created in the design department, and used in both material management and the assembly workshop.
The R/3 System allows you to maintain individual BOMs for any area of your company. These BOMs are maintained independently of each other and are assigned different internal BOM numbers. In this way, each area is only dealing with the specific data it requires.
In Customizing for Production, define individual BOM usages for the different areas within your company by choosing Basic data ® Bill of Material ® General data ® BOM usage ® Define BOM usages.
You can define BOM usages for the following scenarios:
You maintain separate BOMs for different areas within your company, such as design or production.
You create just one BOM for all areas within your company.
Though you have strictly intimated us to not past any sap link but believe me pls go through it will surely help you.
    BOM Catagories
And now the second link is not any help document it having a tonne of information regarding SAP Bom usage and is SDN Thread so I am sure you will go through this one atleast.
    [SDN Thread|;
If these information are still not enough pls let me know.

According to the factory calendar maintained at the client side every Saturday is a holiday. Due to  this, the billing date for every Billing Document (vf01)  created on Saturdays gets pushed to Monday's date..  I tried using VOFM routine 011 to default the billing date (vbrk-fkdat) to system date.I have assigned the same in copy control.. But this does not work. Any suggestions?

    hello,
This is a standard flow and if you want to tamper that, need to change in standard SAP...which I would not recommend you...
