Communication between connected devices

Can anyone confirm that two connected devices (e.g., a laptop and a desktop) can exchange files through the Verizon 4G LTE Router?  Or are they limited to individually connecting to the internet as with jetpacks?

There should be no reason why two LAN connected computers could not share files between each other on the 4G LTE router.  If you experience any problems it is because the sharing of the two devices is not setup correctly.  A side note, local file sharing does not count against your VZW data plan.  Only traffic that goes across VZW's network is metered and held against you.
You can share files between two local devices on a Jetpack without any extra configuration.  Its the sharing between a local and remote device that does not work out of the box.  Even then you can work around the limitations with a proper VPN environment.
Let us know if you recieve a specific error message when you try to share along with the OS of each computer.  I'm sure we can walk you through the process.

  • GPIB Communication between multiple devices

    Hello,
    I am trying to build an application in C# which will be able to send commands to more than one device on the GPIB BUS.
    For example I have 3 devices connected to the computer with addresses as:"GPIB0::18::INSTR","GPIB0::19::INSTR","GPIB0::28::INSTR"
    Now, I know how to communicate with a single device.
    But is there a way I can send commands to multiple devices. So far I have the following.
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.ComponentModel;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Drawing;
    using System.Linq;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Windows.Forms;
    using Ivi.Visa.Interop;
    namespace Step_Attenuator
    public partial class Form1 : Form
    ResourceManager rMgr = new ResourceManager();
    Ivi.Visa.Interop.FormattedIO488 ioobj = new FormattedIO488();
    object resources = null;
    string address1 = "GPIB0::18::INSTR";
    string address2 = "GPIB0::19::INSTR";
    string address3 = "GPIB0::28::INSTR";
    public Form1()
    InitializeComponent();
    private void PsaComm()
    private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    ioobj.IO = (IMessage)rMgr.Open(address1);
    ioobj.WriteString("*RST");
    But now If I want to send a RST command to say device on address2, do I have to again open the session and send it?
    There are going to be a lot of commands to these devices. I am sure there is a much simpler way to do it.
    Please pardon me if this seems to be a silly question.
    Thank You.

    Hi nmedelec,
    I made a research about “Ivi.Visa.Interop.FormattedIO488” and it seems that it is related with Ivi.Visa.Interop which is a third party product. If you have any issue about a third party, I would recommend you go to the office site for help.
    Thanks for your understanding.
    Best Regards,

  • SA520W - how to enable communication between LAN Devices?

    We install our new SA520W Security Appliance. Wireless is setup and Internet works fine.
    But we want to PING another computer inside the LAN it does not response. We can not see other computers, printers or devices even they are in the same network, same IP range by wire or wireless. Is there something we need to enable in Utilities?
    We have shared folders and printers on the network, so we had to come back to our old router. Please help.
    Thanks,
    AJ

    By default the SA520w isolates wifi clients from each other.  The setting you are looking for is AP isolation under APN settings. this needs to be switched off

    Hi, My name is Eric Moyers. I am a Network Support Engineer in the Cisco Small Business Support Center. Thank you for using the Cisco Community Post Forums.
    Under Wireless/Security how do you have the Wireless Isolation configured?
    Wireless Isolation (within SSID) should be disabled to allow wireless computers associated to the same SSID to see and transfer files between each other
    Thanks

If yes can i establish communication in between my app and device over these cables.I am not passing any audio/video data or photos.I am sending data frames. My device is having firmware and it sends data frames in firmware understandable format. Let me know can i have two way communication in between over USB/BT?
    Right now i am connecting my device with host PC and i want to replace my host PC with ipad.

    Thanks....
    will it be possible to establish communication in between my device and app. Because camera conection kit only transfers photos and videos and my device doesnt have any audio/video data.
    If yes, should i add photo header to my frames and will send as corrupted photo file or what needs to implement so that i can have sound communication in between.

  • I get an error message when trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro. The message says "windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. I don't have anything connected to my computer. How do I fix this?

    I'm trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro. I went through the process of bootcamp telling it to install windows 7. Once the windows boot manager started an error message came up. The error message says " windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. I don't have a usb connected to my computer. I  am using windows 7 professional install disc. I  can't figure out what i am doing wrong. The same message keeps coming up over and over. Am I doing something wrong or is it something else?

    Well, shucks, i just spent almost 30 minutes trying to find your model user guide to explain it better, I guess they never got around to making it.....
    I would just borrow another Windows disk and try installing it again and if it does it again then you might take it to an Apple Store and see if one of the "Genius' " can figure it out.
    Make sure your internet is enabled and click on your blank desktop and at the top of your screen is a Help menu option, enter PRAM and it should give you a list of things relating to Pram. It may take a few seconds to list anything as it has to connect to Apples severs first. It should list the things you may have to fill back in when your done.

    Hi,
    I am running XP SP 2, on a Dell Vostro 1000, Palm OS Garnet v5.4.7 on a Tungsten E2. I have worked though issues relating to synchronization, Outlook 2007, Docs to Go, etc., in the past.  Thank you board members!
    Once I worked thru all the initial problems, my Tungsten E2 was sync' ing beautifully to my laptop until a few days ago.  There have been no changes (I know of) to the configuration, but now I receive  "The connection between your device and the desktop could not be established.  Please check your setup and try again."  On the laptop I sometimes get  "USB device not recognized."  I am unclear why I get the PC message sometimes and not others.
    I have tried the following: (not necc exactly in this order)
    Double checked Hot Sync Mgr settings: Local USB (ver. 6.0.1)
    Reset the Palm (multiple times)
    Rebooted the laptop  (multiple times before and after the Palm resets)

    Followed the steps in HotSync troubleshooter guide you can run through located on

    Went into Device Manager - found it shows no yellow ! 's
    Followed Device Mgr Troubleshooter - went all the way thru with no solution
    Tried all four USB ports - the PC's bell-like tone does not sound when I disconnect or reconnect the Plam's cradle like it does when I conn/disconnect other USB devices -I think that is a clue.    ...?
    Cleaned the Palm's contacts (and cradle's contacts with a old, dry toothbrush)
    Read all the posts under "USB device not recognized."
    OK, I'm at a loss, can anyone help me?  Many thanks in advance!

    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

    Hello!
    Using a cradle with the Tungsten E2?  Tried bypassing the cradle and just use the hotsync cable?  Tried a different computer yet?  Somehow, the PC is having problems getting a signal from the device.  I assume you have the laptop charger plugged into the laptop during this?  Not going through a docking station or port-replicator.
    One crazy thing you can try is unplug the charger from your laptop, remove the battery from the laptop and leave it out for like 10mins and put it back in and reboot the laptop.  This should not cause side effects but still contact your OEM to make sure that nothing else is needed after leaving the battery out for extended period of time.  Keep me posted.

  • Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to my computer

    I have an HP Pavilion dv6 notebook; Product # WF536AV, running Win 7-Home. Without warning, when trying to boot one day I got the following error message:
    Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. May be caused by unplugging removable storage while in use or a faulty hhd or CD drive. An unexpected I/O error. Error Code oxcoooooe9.
    I have a 500GB WDC hhd that seems to run hot.
    Cannot get into F8 Advanced Options, although I can get into BIOS (F9 & F10)
    Ran the Win 7 Recovery Disks twice. No help. Same message
    I can run Linux Ubuntu in memory (not installed). GParted shows the following:
           Partition size    used       unused   label   flag              file system

    7. F2: memory test passed but hhd test would not run
    8. In Ubuntu Disk Manager, report said drive had 'a few bad sectors', but hhd test would not run "Self Test- Failed (Read)
    9) Ran MBR repair disk and System Rescue disk; no luck
    10) In Ubuntu, when I look at the Windows file system, In 82 GB partition there is an 'RM' folder with an "Image" folder with 16 files.  In the SDV partition is the bootmgr folder and several others
    a) why cannot I boot to Windows off the hhd?
    b) what does SDV label mean (secure digital video; silicon data valu;tr; static driver verifer  from Windows)?
    c) is the hhd simply failing. I do not have an extra to swap out and try
    d) may the Win 7 Recovery disks bad, perhaps, and should I then download a Win 7 ISO file and try that?
    Thanks for any help. This is highly frustrating. I have already spent about 8 hours on this!

  • Re: Is is possible to form an adhoc connection between two devices?

    Hi,
    Yes it is possible to discover devices and establish communication between devices through bluetooth. There are some J2ME devices that supports Bluetooth(JSR 82).
    Check the latest devices that supports JSR 82.

    Post relates to: Palm TX

    You are not the only one having this problem. I have REPEATEDLY tried to bluetooth sync with my new toshiba windows 7
    Palm 6.2.2 to no avail. I have tried every bluetooth device they suggest and every "fix" or "solution" that has been offered here and in on line chat with a Palm tech. No dice! I even took my computer and all components to a tech. He worked on it for 5 hours. Every once in a while for no apparent reason it will magically sync, but never consistently. Using 32bit on my husband's computer with Vista, and the docking cradle still works so I have my data. A few others have apparently had success with this problem but I think it is an accident that it works for them when it does. Otherwise it would work for everyone. We have read everything we can find and spent literally hours and hours and hours.
    I am now in the process of trying to import/export to Outlook and plan to upgrade to another device like iPhone or blackberry that will sync data with Outlook. My Palm TX also has not been able to successfully sync with that although, as I said earlier, it syncs with Palm Desktop. Good luck with your's.

  • My pc won't shut down and connected devices are not communicating sucessfully

    I have a HP p6741c with Windows 7.
    My computer will not shut down anymore.  I've had to do a hard shut down multiple times.
    Also, my connected devices don't communicate properly.
    I have a scan snap S1500 scanner, stamps.com scale, and an hp laser jed pro400 connected.  The scanner and printer don't respond anymore when I try to scan and print.  I have to manually shut down the computer, restart, then the printer will print docs from the queue that wouldn't print before but then the printer goes back to non-responsive again.
    Please help!

    I would recommend downloading CCleaner and running it on your computer to clean it up a little bit. That may help to resolve some of your issues.
    Here is a link to the download: CCleaner
    Also, are you running any kind of Malware or Virus protection on your computer? Both of those can cause issues with how your computer operates.

  • Communication between : AP and WLAN controller

    Hi,
    The communication between AP and WLAN Controller is ( Data and Control ) UDP.
    Source port 1024 and destination port 12222 and 12223. Actually which device listen to which port or both should listen as control and data can be generated from both the devices.
    How does the user ( wireless client) traffic is switched - if user traffic is a TCP traffic. It will be sent to WLANC and then WLANC forwards it to respective VLAN or default gateway ( depending upon the destination in the packet ).
    Please explain / share the experience.
    any link on cisco.com
    Thanka in advance
    Subodh

    "the LWAPP Control and Data messages are encapsulated in UDP packets that are carried over the IP network. The only requirement is established IP connectivity between the access points and the WLC. The LWAPP tunnel uses the access point's IP address and the WLC's AP Manager interface IP address as endpoints. The AP Manager interface is explained in further detail in the
    implementation section. On the access point side, both LWAPP Control and Data messages use an ephemeral port that is derived from a hash of the access point MAC address as the UDP port. On the WLC side, LWAPP Data messages always use UDP port 12222. On the WLC side, LWAPP Control messages always use UDP port 12223.
    The mechanics and sequencing of Layer 3 LWAPP are similar to Layer 2 LWAPP except that the packets are carried in UDP packets instead of being encapsulated in Ethernet frames."

  • Communication between two network with the same IP segment

    Good Moorning:
    How can establish communication between the production environment and test environment with the same IP segment using switch Cisco Nexus 5548?

    Carlos
    The short answer is you can't as far as i know. You need to do NAT to able to do this and i don't think the Nexus switches support NAT.
    You need a device that can NAT both address ranges. If prod is always the one that initiates the connection then you need static NAT translations for the test machines and you can dynamicaly NAT prod addresses as they go into the test env.
    But if both prod and test can initiate connections then you need to have static NAT translations for both sides.
    We used a pix firewall for this when we connected our prod and test environments. A firewall is a good choice because you can make the test enviornment the outside interface where all traffic is denied by default. You do not want test affecting prod.
