Computer doesn't recognise Zen V P

When?getting started with?my Zen V Plus, I followed all the instructions and installed all the software, but when it prompted me to connect the device, it wouldn't recognise it. I logged out of my account and left the MP3 to charge, in case that was the problem, but it still says ''Your player is not connected. Please connect your Zen V Series to the computer.'' Somebody please help I'm desperate!!!

Zen Nano Plus, Zen Nano, and MuVo Players (N200, V200, TX FM, TX, NX, MuVo Slim and the original MuVo players):
. Unplug the player from a computer if it is plugged
2. Install the latest driver if you have not done so. If you have a Creative MuVo, MuVo USB2.0, MuVo TX FM, MuVo N200, MuVo V200, Zen Nano, Zen Neeon or Zen Nano Plus player, you can download the file: MStorage_PCDRV_LB__07_00_250.exe

3. Remove the battery from the player.
4. Press and hold the Play button while connecting the player to the USB port.
5. Continue to hold the Play button for about 0 seconds after connecting your player is connected to the USB port.
6. When the Find New Hardware dialog box appears on your PC screen, release the Play button.
7. If this is the first time a player is installed as Player Recovery Device, Windows will find a Player Recovery Device (or USB Device), and prompt you for drivers. Click on No, and select "Do not search. I will choose the driver to install". Windows will install the drivers automatically.
8. Once it is installed, you can then update the player's firmware.

    Open your device manager and see if there is any question mark/exclamation mark icon on the player once you plug it in. If there is, right click and select un-install then you reconnect-disconnect your player. If this doesn't work, boot the player from the recovery mode and do a Clean Up then Reboot.     Did you update to iOS 7? If yes you need to update iTunes on your computer to iTunes 11.1
    If you are using iTunes 11.0 and iOS 6.x then show the left sidebar in iTunes.
    When in iTunes on your computer use the View menu to View Sidebar. The device should show up there when connected.

    Malware can cause digital signing issues, I would run a malware check with the free version of MalwareBytes:

    Can I assume you are using iTunes 10?
    But most probably, your iPod hardisk is the problem and your Windows 7 is taking a long time to read the disk filesystem.
    Do a disk diagnostic first as posted by tt2, don't worry about the Mac user, Disk diagnostic refer to iPod and not the OS.

    This wont fix your problem, but will help in troubleshooting route, as there are dozens of reasons for the failure.
    Post the results here and hopefully it is not the harddisk.

    Try taking a new picture with your iPhone then reconnect it to your computer.

  • My computer doesn't recognise my external hard drive

    My macbook doesn't seem to recognise my external hard drive (OS 10.8.3).
    The hard drive connects to laptop via USB, but gets power from another plug in the wall. When I plug it in, its icon does not appear on desktop, or in Finder menu.
    The hard drive works fine on my sisters laptop (Macbook, about 5 years old). Other storage devices work fine in my macbook, and appear rapidly on both desktop and finder menu when I insert them.
    Have any of you encountered this before? Can you tell me how can I fix it???

    Can be a dangerous operation !
    But I would start by
    • Closing the MacBook - turn all OFF
    • Start it up - BUT KEEP MOUSE KEY or equivalent DOWN DURING FULL UP-START.
    If DVD is in an OK position - it will be ejected.
    If stuck in an out of line way - then I would go to an Apple Store and get proper help - not to harm the DVD-player.

    Along with the other problems I've had, see "error light" post, I have realised that although my iPod is plugged into the computer, when I open iTunes, it's not even listed!

    No, we need to know exactly what version of OS X, i.e. is it 10.2.3 or 10.2.8, etc, not the 10.2.x they list. To find out, click on the blue Apple in the top left of your menu and then on About This Mac. You need to have at least 10.2.8 unless you are connecting to the keyboard USB port, which will require 10.3.6
    What I'm asking on the ports is which one are you plugging the Shuffle into, one on the back of the computer or one on the keyboard, or the front. And while we are at it, what Mac are using?

    I connected my nano, and thought it was done connecting so I unplugged the cord, even though it said do not disconnect. my nano wont reset, wont show up in itunes or my cpu,and just stays on the unblinking do not disconnect screen.     I've seen similar posts, but non had advice that helped. I'm having this problem for a weeks, before the problem everything worked perfectly. My Apple wireless keyboard start to act strange. I couldn't type some letters, so i put new batteries and still the same problem. When I type for example letter S it appears on screen as DS, the light on the shift key doesn't turn off when pressed. I have also tried to unpair it but now i can't even pair it with the computer any more.
    I have bought A4tech KD-126 keyboard which was recognisable by the computer till first time i unplug it. After i tried to plug it in all usb ports, led lights on the keyboard are working but computer doesn't recognise it as a keyboard.
    So I have tested other keyboard which my husband is using (A4tech KB-28G) and this only keyboard that works for now.
    I want to make A4tech KD-126 keyboard working at least.
    Please Help!!   

    Reset the NVRAM/PRAM and Reset the SMC, then try the wired keyboard again.

  • Satellite A30: Doesn't recognise any USB devices.

    My computer doesn't recognise any of the devices when connected to the USB Port on my Satellite A30. After dowloading SP2 I was able to install the printer but I can't use it because there is no printer icon on the tool bar. If i want to print anything i get the printer window, i select the print then it goes to MS Office Image writer. Basically, I can't use my printer or any other device connected to a USB port.
    However, It was working perfectly well when I had the XP home edition but I can't reinstall that one because there is something wrong with the recovery disk that's why I had to install the XP Pro.
    Also, I used to get a sound, letting me know that a device has been connected. I don't get that anymore nor the icon on the toolbar.
    Is there anything I could do to resolve this issue please? Is it possible to obtain another recovery disc somehow? Obviously this is something to do with XP Pro software but I don't know what to do.

    This is what the problem is the only printer window i have is the MS Office Image Writer. I do not have any other printer window. If I use add a printer, then the wizzard can't detect a USB device.
    I have just checked the link you gave me and did exactly what it said but it just doesn't help. It is not just my printer, it doesn't detect any device i connect to it. For example, I can't update my ipod anymore because the computer doesn't detect the ipod when it is connected.
    I really don't know what the problem is! It was working perfectly fine before the upgrade and for the upgrade i have used the official MS Windows XP disk.
    You woudn't know how to format the HDD by any chance, would you?
