Could you check, if the file Mail.jar is installed correctly in your Adapter Framework folder and the starting program of the Adapter Framework (e.g. runadapter.bat or install_service.bat) is enhanced with this library file?

Configuring Mail Adapter as sender

Hello,
I'd like to ask for some help with configuration of SAP XI mail adapter as sender. I made a communication chanel with mail adapter type and specified transport protocol POP3, URL (pop3://localhost), user, password and poll interval. The problem is that XI doesn't trigger the
process, in other words it doesn't connect to my email server to receive the mail. What could be wrong? To test the environment, I made a test case withmail adapter as a receiver - and it works ok - it sends mail via my email server - so SMTP is working fine.

The correct URL is: pop://localhost

Mail adapter error in PI

Hi,
I have this following issue in File to Mail senario,
contains of the file should go to the microsoft outlook,
but when I go to RWB Communication Channel Monitoring I am getting this error
Error as shown in mail receiving adapter in Runtime Workbench in PI -
failed to send mail: com.sap.aii.messaging.util.XMLScanException: expecting start tag: Mail, but found {}Mail at state 1
I have configured mail adapter with following parameters
Transport Protocol: SMTP
Msg protocol: XIPAYLOAD
Aapter Engine: Integration Server
Connection parameters for Mail server
URL: smtp://<IP address of the mail server>
Configure User Authentication: X (Check box is selected)
Authentication Method: Plain (from drop-down box)
Mail Attributes: X (Check box is selected)
Content Encoding: base64
I have also used namespace 'http://sap.com/xi/XI/Mail/30' and message type name 'Mail' while configuring the receiver mail adapter.

Sender Mail Adapter Configuration - Process Multiple Attachments

Dear sirs,
I need to process several attachments at the same mail message as individual payloads.
In default configuration of sender mail adapter only the body of message is used as payload.
So I added PayloadSwapBean Module at Processing Sequence and it processed the attachment I set in Module Configuration. I'm not able to process all attachments available, just one attachment is sent to PI pipeline.
How can I process all attachments of a single mail message?

Configuring Receiver mail adapter with dynamic email addresses

I'm a newbie to XI and I have problems in configuring the Receiver mail adapter with the "Use Mail package" option selected. I am trying pickup a file (using file adapter on Sender side, picks up a simple XML file) and after mapping in XI, send the message as an email message to dynamic email addresses.
Everything works fine if I did not select the "Use Mail Package". But when I choose that option it errors out. I followed this blog posted on SDN -

What I want to accomplish is, I have a simple message mapping where the Studentdetails are mapped to, lets say Customer details. For convenience lets keep it simple, StudentId --> Customerid, (student)Firstname --> (customer)Firstname, (Student)Lastname --> (customer)Lastname
I would like to get the Customer details as an XML attachment or in the body of an email with from, to and subject corresponding to that specified in the <Mail> node.
I followed the instructions posted on the blog and it works fine if I don't map the studentdetails to customerdetails. I did multimapping, with one source message (the xml file I posted above) and two target messages (customerdetails and Mail, which is the external definition posted on the blog). I beleive I'm missing something here. Could somebody please guide me through this?

1)Try to do with POP3
2)Check the URL , give correct Exchange Server Name/IP address.
3) Hope you have access to read the inbox (sometimes it will not be there)

Getting error when configured sender mail adapter

Hi Everyone,
When i tried configuring sender mail adapter am getting these logs in Runtime workbench.
In ID,when i gave ip address in place of URL, am getting this log
"exception caught during processing mail message; java.io.IOException: unexpected password response; read -ERR Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password."
When i gave URL in place of URL, am getting this log

why is it giving this log, What correction i have to do to make it work.

When the IMAP4 protocol is used, we get an option "Delete messages when read".You could specify if you need to delete it or not.
2.How to do mapping for an attachment,what additional things i have to do for this.

3.Is there any option to change the flag of mail once it is read by XI.
You cannot do this from XI. You would need to do it in your email client. In case you are using IMAP4,you could mark the message as read, once XI reads the unread message.

Sender Mail Adapter Configuration error

Hi,
I am working on scenario mail adapter to CRM system. And when I tried to configure the sender email adapter I have got the error following error, Can any one help me to resolve this issues
error occured: exception caught during processing mail message; java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused
the details I have provided are as follows
Transport protocol is POP3
URL - POP://mailservername/Inbox/folder
And I have tried with the IMAP4 also
URL - IMAP://mailservername/Inbox/folder
And we have cross checked that the XI server is able to ping that particular mail server.

I did not find any documentation of the XI 3.0 mail adapter so result of practical test only for outgoing mail using SMTP:
Mail server settings:
SMTP port 8025 (you can configure any port of course)
Account demo, password test
Mail adapter configuration:
Bubble adapter java class
classname=com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.ModuleBubble
Bubble.Helper=com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.ModuleBubbleHelperXIMailImpl

Receiver mail adapter configuration for e-mail attachments

Hi ,
I need to send two files from sender file adapter to receiver mail adapter as e mail attachment.
I want same attachment name in email as on sender side on FTP location.
This is by pass scenario no object created in ESR.Please suggest how to handle this.
For example if file name test.txt is send by file adapter then on mail attachment name should be test.txt

Create Receiver Determination and Interface Determination as described, and add a sender file CC and receiver mail CC according to your needs, plus sender and receiver agreements.
In order to maintain the original file names, use a simple adapter module with the code mentioned here:

Mail adapter configuration

Hi all,
I am using the mail adapter to send mails to end users for a certain process from the integration server. The SXMB_MONI doesnt give me any errors but I cannot see the mail coming through. On viewing the adapter monitor, I dont see the mail adapter in the monitor though I have configured the mail adapter in the directory settings. Am I missing something? Do I have to do something extra to get the mail adapter into the adapter monitor? When I run the trace , I am able to see the following error

<Trace level="3" type="T">Unknown channel type: Mail</Trace>
<Trace level="3" type="T" />

If your XI system in on SP9 then check this OSS note:789584
It describes the solution for the problem "The XI 3.0 Adapter Monitor does not display the status of the mail adapters in detail"
This will atleast help you see what is happening with the mail adapter.
You may also want to check these OSS notes:

Mail adapter and MessageTransformBean module configuration issue

I am trying to use module configuration in Receiver Mail adapter. Below is my configuration. (We are using SAP PI 7.11)

XSL works outside of PI . However, when i test with a message, I am seeing following errors in Runtime workbench:

Hi All,
Issue has been resolved. There was some minor issue in the XSL. The XSL Stylus studio was not reporting this as an error. However PI's XSL engine was reporting that error. This error message was not showing up in runtime workbench. However, when i looked at the default trace, there were few more errors. After fixing the XSL, I am able to received the email
